Cao Ren's biggest problem is he has no range and is easily interrupted. Luckily, he's got built in super armor for his attacks, so it's not that bad.
That, and he actually does have some really nice Charge attacks, like his C3 and C6.

Well I played with Cao Ren, and he was really, really fun. I love his design and his weapon, and he had a great personality too. It's nice to see someone who's fighting for the sake of ending chaos not ramble on about virtue like the Shu morons. He's pretty sensible.
With that said, I'm fairly sure Wei's my favorite of the Kingdoms.
One thing to remember about Cao Ren [and Ling Tong] is that the Wind Scroll does virtually nothing for them.
I was kind of under that impression
I'm not sure who else I want to try… Xu Huang is the only one I can think of offhand. Gan Ning maybe, but he's kind of an annoying prick.
Xu Huang is hilarious, and he actually has a fun moveset. "BEHOLD MY MIGHTY SKILLS!"
Gan Ning has an extremely fun Musou, but that's it.
I don't want to post a new thread, seeing as I don't normally do that, I'll post it here.

The last Dynasty Warriors game on the PS2 will be Warriors Orochi.
It seems to be a mix of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.
Also we can see Sun Shang Xiang take the Crossbow like she does from what we've seen of Dynasty Warriors 6.
Features I know of are:
Changable Characters - Choose three characters, switch between them mid-battle
Combo Canceling - Combo and combo like any other Asians should do. I myself am Asian so no offense…
It comes out in english in I think September 19th.
Yeah, we discussed that a while back.
It's basically Samurai Warriors 2 with Dynasty Warriors characters thrown in there, since they're using the superior SW system of skills and other nifty things.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Especially since it'll include the SW characters that were retardedly thrown out of 2.
Oh, and I started playing with Xu Huang and he is pretty awesome.
…I just tried a stage with Zhang Jiao (Si Shui Gate, just to be safe), and so far I find him to be very fun to play as. Is there something wrong with me?
No, Zhang Jiao is hilarious and pimp. Slap the Light Orb and Charge Braces on him to make it easier to play with him.
Still mad they took out his True Musou quote from DW4. "WITNESS THE MIRACLLLLLLLLLES!"
after 2 months finally defeated Gan Nings musou mode.. his attack is good but his musou is hard to control ….
I may do the Sun Shang Xiang(sp?) Musou next
How do you get Meng Huo in musou mode?
Beat Zhuge Liang and Lu Xun's Musou modes I believe.
After playing around with Zhang Jiao I don't get why everyone ranks him as WROST CHARACTER EVER. I found Diao Chan to be much more fucking aggravating to play as.
Diao Chan is definitely the worst. Zhang Jiao is pretty bad, honestly, but at least he's PLAYABLE.
Yeah… not sure if me and Zhang Jiao's 4th weapon were meant to be.
I mean Jesus Christ the requirements are like Herculean tasks especially compared to other generals' (Ma Chao's "Knock Cao Cao off of his horse" or "KILL 1000 GUYS").
It's the hardest 4th in the game. You just have to be really fast, is all. Rush, rush, rush. A good bit of luck also helps a lot.
Yeah, I figured out the "luck" part after having some lame sub-general die right before getting the rock attack completed. Over and over and over.
I swear I tried it at least 10 times in a row before quitting in aggravation and futility.
I mean Jesus fuck where do they get off giving ZHANG JIAO a requirement like that and Ma Chao gets KNOCK CAO CAO OFF HIS HORSE DHURR DHURR
Because Ma Chao caters to people that don't know how to fucking play.
MASH SQUARE WHILE SITTING ON A HORSE
Either way Ma Chao is even cheap on ground too.
@Cap'n:

Zhang Jiao is that Yellow Turban guy right? I used to call him Jesus for fun because of his looks and powers XD.
Anyway, you got a second player helping you get the weapon or just playing one player? Regardless maybe you should just continue buffing him up in other levels till you think he is buff enough.
Actually, my next try I actually succeeded in making the weapon appeared… then I saved RIGHT THERE because I was low on heath and i would've cried if I had died.
And I did die several times. But I got the Volcano Staff so all is good.
And Zhang Jiao is still fun to play as... I just hope he isn't as terrible to play as in Orochi (he probably is since I doubt they'll do a lot of balance work for it) and DW6.
He'll probably be just as crappy in Orochi Warriors. DW6 might be a different story, however, since it looks like everybody is getting a huge overhaul for their movelists.
In any case, DW seriously needs to take a lesson from SW about movelists. The moves in SW2 are so fucking unique and creative that it's ridiculous. It's not just 40 characters with S C, S S C, S S S C, etc.
Yeah, I'm expecting most everyone to play similarly in Orochi, though unless I'm mistaken the DW guys might get a few moves with the R commands from SW being added.
I can't wait for this game to come out.
Also I'm sorry if this has already been asked, I checked all the pages in this topic but I tend to miss these things, but are either Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao confirmed for the new game yet? What? They're fun to play as.. So long as Xiao Qiao's voice is muted out.. Too.. Much.. Screaming..
I never built up the nerve to try playing as either of the Qiaos. Or Xing Cai. Or any female character that wasn't Zhu Rong (who is pretty awesome).
I find most of the female characters to be rather fun to play as, with the huge exception of the walking disaster that is Diao Chan, especially the Qiao's and Sun Shang Xiang. Not the strongest characters in the series, but most of the female characters are rather fast and have good crowd clearing attacks which more than makes up for it in my opinion. I'm just hoping that the Qiao's get confirmed for the new game, after all there is no greater humilation than getting your arse handed to you by some petite girl that swings giant fans around to fight. xD

The sad part is this for all DW characters…or most...
Charge 1:A lift into the air
Charge 2:Multiple hits
Charge 3:A charge attack(as in running or something)
Charge 4:Lift area'd enemies into air or just lift one
Charge 5:some type of beam
C1: Guard breaker.
C2: Lifts opponent into air.
C3: Multi-hitting attack that ends in stun.
C4: Crowd-clearing sweep.
C5: Giant energy blast that launches opponent.
C6: Varies.
C7: Varies.
That's pretty much everybody.
Whoops hehe…I didn't count default charge...
Anyhow speaking for the female characters of the game. Yue Ying was pretty good. It would also seem the most of the ladies of the game have unique weapons...most I think..
Yeah, if I remember correctly Yue Ying could be quite lethal if used well. I don't use her that much but she's definitely worth playing as. I think the reason the female characters have unique weapons is because none of them actually participated in battles historically, with the exception of Zhu Rong. It gives the game developers the perfect opportunity to play around with different weapons and fighting styles that usually wouldn't make it into a game like this otherwise.
Never enjoyed playing with females.
Doesn't help that none of the female players can compare to Huang Gai and Pang De.
Yeah I'm a bit of a sexist gamer too, I never really liked female characters.
Which was why Zhu Rong was such an awesome exception. She kicks ass.
Eh, I agree that most of them can't even be remotely compared to those two let alone over half of the male characters in the game. In fact most of the female characters wouldn't even be in the game if not for Koei trying to add more diversity to the line-up.. =/ Still I've always loved playing as speedy characters and the females in this series just happened to get a little more skill in that area than most of their male counterparts. Really, if they were slow and clunky like some of the other characters I wouldn't bother with them at all.
Ugh, speedy characters. Those pussies can't take a hit worth a shit.
Slow, heavy brutes. That's where the fun is.
I finally bothered to play both sides of Wu Zhang Plains on Hard to get the orbs. Light was incredibly easy while I'd rather not relive getting the Shadow orb…
Once again, Yuan Shao is an unbelievably fun character.

^New images of the game and looks like somebody got a new pwnage weapon.
Holy Crap, the chain and ball weapon looks bad ass!
I can't decide which one I like the most! It's a close tie between the new Wu and Shu characters.
Holy fuck, Dian Wei has a ball-and-chain now. That's utterly pimp.

…FUCK YEAH, DIAN WEI!
Oh god, you have no idea how excited this makes me. Dian Wei was hands down one of my top 5 favorites, and him getting a badass makeover AND a sick looking new weapon makes me so pumped.
....hahaha, what the fuck happened to Guan Yu? He's like Kramer with a beard.
And HELL YEAH, Zhang Jiao (I'm typing this as the pages load)! His redesign looks awesome as well, an I'm liking the crazy looking staff.
...did Liu Bei lose his little frilly facial hair? Maybe it suits him better.

Let's hope he doesn't randomly shout racial slurs at enemy soldiers during his Musou attacks or everytime he beats an officer.
I can't believe I didn't notice that the "new" characters were revamped versions of Dian Wei and Guan Yu. Forehead palm
And the designs get even better.
Get a load of Dong Zhuo and Diao Chan:
I gotta say, that mace looks awesome and it suits him much better.
I honestly busted out laughing when I saw Dong Zhuo. He looks awesome for sure, but he also reminds me of a Muppet or something.
btw, Warriors Orochi is coming out this Wednesday. I'll probably pick it up this weekend.
Dong Zhuo has the best fucking face ever made. Holy fuck, that shit is full of victory.
A big change in the character design for everyone it seems.
Orochi looks like it'll be extremely fun. Even though I've never cared for the Samurai Warriors games, the tag-team system is very win. I wonder which of the 48 characters they'll narrow the Dynasty ones down to. Huang Zhong is one of them, though, and I'm glad he is. He's my new Shu favorite.
I'm pretty sure it's every DW and SW character.
And big news… apparently they're now going to pronounce "Cao Cao" properly in the English releases.
I found a video from the Japanese version.
The 3 Shu brothers in action.

^Some new pictures of the game and maybe somebody new or old with really bad clothing design.
I believe that's Lu Xun.
Warriors Orochi is a lot of fun btw
that is Lu Xun.. he is just not wearing the DW 4/5 hat he usually wears and some pics show him with out the twin swords/daggers
Yeah, they basically gave Lu Xun a single blade, while Liu Bei now wields two blades [like he did in Romance of the Three Kingdoms].
Sun Jian really needs something interesting. He's always been boring as shit to use.
http://koeiwarriors.simgames.net/dw6-tokyogameshow.php
Some more screenshots. Sima Yi looks awesome, and I'm currently shitting myself at Zhang Jiao, Zhang Liao, Huang Gai, and Xiahou Dun's awesome new looks.
Yuan Shao… I'm kind of mixed on, I'll have to wait until more is shown of him.
