Yeah … I doubt that too. It'd be awesome, but untill I hear something from Toei about it, I don't think we'll ever see Cross Epoch animated.
I thought at one of the anime expos the dude from Toei said if it got enough demand in Japan they would animate it. It's DBZ and OP so I'm sure it will eventually be animated, probably for new years or something.

Man. I just rewatched the Jaya arch. I can't wait to see it dubbed! I also forgot the on the 2nd episode of the Funi dub, we'll get to see the "Buggy and Ace" party. :D Pure awesomeness!! I hope buggie has a bit of a squeaky voice when he gets upset too. ^^

What kind of notes? I translated those DVDs, but I never wrote up any real notes or anything. Unless maybe you mean some DVD extras that came with the original Japanese DVDs. I had actually WANTED to do some subtitle notes for Tenchi OVA3 but I got loaded with like 5 other shows at once back then so there was no way it was gonna happen :(
The honorific suffixes I always include in my subtitle translations though.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the One Piece Dragonball Z crossovers which been shown at those Jump events. More than likely those will have only been shown there tho. Sad too….the Gomu Gomu No Kamehameha was just too awesome.

I guess the 3 day wait was actually a good thing (I was really bored from Wednesday night to Saturday night because it was holidays). It's a good thing the 9/29 was real.

Well… it might very well happen. As "Ukikiki" is the sound effect monkeys make in japan, while in english it's made to be "Ooh ooh ooh".

Very observant. But actually no. But the cable around here shows CN 3 hours late for some reason (10pm est = 8pm mst, but is actually aired at 11pm on my tv). I keep it on Alaska time because even though the "on right now" is wrong, it actually lists the correct times for everything in the schedule.

I don't know, I wouldn't mind if Masira made the English sound effect of monkeys. I'd like him to screech a bit though - that's what ukikiki sounds like to me.

Heh, I forgot about that DVD extra. I have the disc here but haven't watched it. But yeah, sometimes if necessary, I'll put little notes in places if it's necessary and if it can fit in what little space is allotted.

Now to serious issues. I know this has been said repeatedly on this thread and I hate to beat on a dead horse but I am getting seriously worried and frustrated on the lack of any commercial to promote the new dub whatsoever. If the dubbies get slammed by this new One Piece out of no where, they might be put off by it, no matter how good it is. And even if people do watch it, unless One Piece gets promoted to hell and back, it won't stand a chance in HELL to compete with Naruto. Hell, it might not even be able to beat bleach. And yes I did use hell three times on purpose to emphasize what a hell it would be if One Piece didn 't reach it's full potential due to lack of advertising. Seriously, WTH, FUNI give some commercials for CN to air and if it's CN that does the promos, then bug them till they do make the commercials. Mato, I know you're a lowly (no offense XD) translator and probably know nothing about the workings of the higher ups but could you at least, I don't know, put it on the table whenever you have a conversation with Justin Cook or the likes responsible for the show. Sorry for sounding like a whining baby and I'm probably gonna get flamed for this post but I am sincerely worried for the dub and very pissed at the thought that such a great show is gonna have its chances ruined forever because of shitty 4Kids (who ruined the show's reputation) and shitty CN (who didn't advertise it enough and I suppose those dumb consistency policies hurt the shows chances a bit as well. Not that I mind any of them except the attack names. And maybe Trace). Phew, well now I guess I feel a bit better now. Peace out!!! -

We won't get a commercial because there isn't going to be any kind of pause between 4Kids' last episode and FUNi's starting one. To CN, it's going to be a normal new episode, and shows don't usually get Toonami promos unless…
A) It came back from a break
B) They're holding a marathon of some sort
C) IF CN does one of those general promos where they promote everything on the block (which they haven't done in a while)
D) It's Naruto (Meaning being the top-rated show on the block)
Those are the ONLY ways it'd get a promo. Again, they won't do a promo because of the dub switch. And they also won't do a promo simply because a new arc has begun (unless it took a break previously).
FUNi doesn't program Toonami so they can't do anything but supply CN with episodes.

The solution is that we have to promote the show ourselves. Fans are responsible for how far One Piece has gotten in the States today. If it weren't for the fans, who knows if Funi would have bothered with it.
It falls upon us to get the buzz going for the new dub.

Nope. Even then, FUNi's promos on their DVDs are generally just for shows/movies that are coming soon to DVD or are on DVD. They kinda lack quite a bit on the extras side.
And yeah, I don't see CN doing promos. Naruto's basically become their new Dragon Ball Z.
