Your Favorite Anime Character(s)

I've seen the threads for the most overrated, the most underrated, and the most hated. Now I think its time for the a your favorite anime character thread. Now, in your opinion, who is your favorite character. I'll start it off.

Rock Lee (Naruto) - Possibly my only favorite character in the show. His background is orginial, not to sad, and really give explanation for his goals. That, and how he only fights with his fists instead of justu (pardon the spelling). And how he constanly trains himself to become better makes a good foundation for character develpment later.

Zaraki Kenpachi (Bleach) - I don't like him for his strength, or for his badass factor. I like him because of his simplicity. He only thinks of fighting and can find a in battle. I also like his sense of honor, a.k.a. no hidden tricks or sneak attacks. The worst hidden trick he had was an eyepatch that actually weakened him (sort of).

Editing my post now that I can come up with a good list.
Himura Kenshin/Rurouni Kenshin- My favorite hero in all of anime, I love this guy. Detailed past, interesting motivations, cool fighting style, generic design but interesting colors.

Brook/One Piece- I like music, I like Iaido characters, and I like unrequired relationships in stories. So in that respect Brook is just great, an instant classic for me.

Monkey D. Luffy/One Piece- Luffy is hilarious, and his positivity in the anime is infectious. You can also chalk this up to great voice acting.

Ryo Mashiba/Hajime no Ippo- Ippo is chalk full of great characters, and Ryo is such a nice guy I can't help but like him. Sure he looks and fights like a bastard, but he loves his sister! His humor scenes are just excellent.

Griffith/Berserk- One of the few characters who's power is ONLY charisma, I love the idea and I think his character is written extremely well. I have to admit I just started the manga on Berserk, I'm sure I'll like him more though.

Aoba/Naruto- I love the fact that this guy changed Narutoverse by simply opening a door. I find it hilarious.

[Archibald Desmond Deus]

Dr. Tenma from Monster:
Probably my favorite protagonist in anime. Dude starts out as a putz and gradually becomes the most capable person in the series. Even though he's constantly conflicted about what he has to do, he never loses that moral and hypocrattic oath which is very admirable.

Johan from Monster
One of the best thought out villains in the series. I can't say too much without giving him away completley. Suffice it to say the level of manipulation, control, and charisma he has makes him more deadly than any uber-assassins or super soldiers in other manga.

Zaraki Kenpachi
I agree with Paradox; the dude is straight forward and has an all around great personality. Whenever Ichigo demands the cliche 'Finish it in one shot' and Zaraki laughs at him and reply 'Why end it now when its gotten so damn FUN' he had me hooked. You could tell, even when he had the advantage, Ichigo was freaked out for most of that match. Plus Yachiru is just adorable and plays off him well.

Uh…Okay, a list of my top ten would be:

1. Son Gokuh (DB/Z) - Possibly the coolest guy ever and unfortunately, a real trend setter in anime. Sure, he may have become a jerk somewhere along the line, but I'll always remember the Gokuh that loved a challenge and would do anything to help out a friend.
2. Luffy - Obnoxious in a really, really good way. Besides, this makes it all the more badass when he does decide to get serious. He's a man who knows what he wants and most of the time, he gets it.
3. Kuririn (DB/Z) - I just like that he's very easy to relate to and like Gokuh, we pretty much watched him grow up through the series so I have a strong attachment to his character. The abuse he recieves in the movies is also downright hilarious.
4. Piccolo (DB/Z, yeah I know, I like this show wahaay too much) - He probably has the most interesting character development in the series, I mean he goes from like demonic rival to what? babysitter? No really though, he's awesome. His intelligence is such a breath of fresh air when you have idiots like Vegeta running around.
5. FRANKY!!!- Not only do I really like his design but he has such an intense and outrageous personality, not to mention an interesting backstory. His emotional tendencies are also nice considering the rest of the crew tends to keep things bottled up.
6. Usopp - Once again, easy to relate to. I always find myself cheering for his accomplishments however small. He's actually surprisingly talented, and it's always interesting to see how he manages in a world of super powerful freaks.
7. San (Mononoke) - A woman who isn't totally useless! Tough, but not cold hearted. Not to mention how cool all the wolf riding and mask wearing is.
8. Rei Ayanami (Evangelion) - This one I don't really know how to explain…hm... I guess I was really used to girls in anime being incredibly annoying and well, Rei wasn't. Unlike some stoic characters coughsasukecough she doesn't play the total badass and is actually quite attached to those around her, sacrifices herself without a second thought.
9. Roger Smith (The Big O) - It's all in the eyebrows. He's very chivalrous without being perverted and even though he's got the black suit, the nice car, and the giant robot, he's totally down to earth and like me, isn't a morning person.
10. Uh….Sonic? (Sonic X etc.) - Definitely too cool for school, and yet still makes time for nerdy little Tails. Shallow I know, but I tend to like the generic cool guy thing.

I'm not so sure these are all in order now that I think about it but yeah, just a general idea. For animes I'm really into, I tend to like the main character best.

Ilpalazo (Excel Saga): His random goofiness and the trap-door gags were some of the funniest moments in the show!

I feel that Pedro from the same series deserves some recognition. His dub voice was hilarious, and so was how he got screwed over time after time throughout the entire series. Seriously, it's hard not to laugh when he couldn't get resurected, and finding out that his sexy wife forgot about him. Let's also not forget about his trademark "NOOOOOO!"

Zorori (Kaiketsu Zorori): I just discovered this series yesterday. Even though there's only one fansub episode in existence, this fox is a fun, likeable character. He claims to be a prank artist, but most of his sabotage ends up helping his victims. He reminds me of a tame Lupin III.
