alas, there is too many nice pictures I wanna use, I got another last night XD
Anyways, for those who were interested in that Robin/Chopper doujin I got, there is another on ebay for $30
It's WEB of "comic market" in Japan.
The sponsor seems to sell a Doujinshi by mail order abroad.
ComicMarket of summer is 8/17-19 three days.
However, the schedule of the mail order start of Doujinshi (release in August) is not written.

@Local: What is happening in the last scan of Kaizoku Game 16? I see Hina and Tashigi talking something.
no idea, Hina kisses Tashigi in the top panel tho.
no idea, Hina kisses Tashigi in the top panel tho.
I can probably answer that one.
If I'm seeing it correctly, that's an excerpt from a story by RSK.
If I'm remembering correctly, it goes something like this: Tashigi asks Hina why she (Hina) smokes, and Hina relates a story of how she met Smoker, and how after she kissed him the first time, the smoke on his breath made such an impression on her that she couldn't forget it. So she started smoking to be reminded of it. For some crazy reason (I'll let you draw your own conclusions) she says something like "do you know that taste?" and then gives Tashigi a big kiss. So if Tashigi didn't know that taste before, she does now. And Smoker, who has been listening to the whole conversation with slight embarrassment, hits the roof when he sees that. So I guess it's fair to say that if he was never acquainted with the pleasure of watching two women kiss, he is now!
or something…
ah yes! that's the story! I thought it was some sort of AU thing with the way Hina is dressed lol ( then again, we've only really seen her in one outfit so)

Thanks doublefinger!
I like this website's statement of purpose : to bring manga to foreign audiences at a reasonable price.
Yosh!
:)
Well, I've tested it this evening, and I can say that the prices are very reasonable! ($6 for one episode of Hachimaru's Matinee8 series, for example – which on other Japanese websites is $30+ !). However, many of the most reasonable items -- including that one -- were already sold out.
:cwy:
I also liked the large pictures of the front, back, and sample page of each doujin. Very helpful for evaluating the story or the artwork. Or when trying to guess the explicitness.
A few problems:
(1) English translations were inconsistent. One example was the spelling of the word "yaoi" ("yawoi") -- which would make searching on that topic very tricky for those who typed it in as it's usually spelled: "yaoi"
(2) as best I can tell, there's no "search by manga" function -- which means you can't aggregate only the One Piece titles -- you have to look through all the other manga parody doujins (Sailor Moon, etc) to find them.
(3) it was difficult to tell if "author" meant "artist" or meant "circle".
However, patience and thorough searching will probably yield quite a few prizes. Since this site is new, I'll wait a while before adding it to our FAQ. I'll wait until a few people have ordered things from them and received them without any trouble. (that was my criteria for JP Queen and Mandarake too).

Mmm, regrettable !
can't surely search it in "ONE-PIECE"…More they are easy to read and should be easy to use it…
More prices are cheap, and there should be the mail order site that it is easy to use…
Please examine because I introduce it if I find it
By the way, about 20% prices are increase.

I went to E-bay this evening for the first time in several months to check out the OP doujin scene there, and what I saw pleased me, but also worried me …
On the positive side, I've never seen such variety on E-bay as there is now : nearly every pairing and genre is available! And they span a wide range from All-Chara to Het Romance to Yaoi to Hentai. So nearly everyone's tastes can be satisfied one way or another ...
However, what upset me was the realization that prices have risen so dramatically in the past two years that fans may not be able to afford purchasing doujins anymore, and that this may cause them to resort to bootlegs and downloads of doujinshi. Bootlegs and downloads hurt doujinshi artists financially as well as psychologically, (nobody likes to have their artwork "stolen"). So it's ironic that the rising prices of doujinshi will be of no benefit the artist. The only one who benefits from the rise is the seller.
Another thing that upset me was the realization that I may have indirectly caused this price inflation on E-bay, by introducing OP doujinshi to a wider audience via this thread, and by creating a big demand for certain artists, characters, pairings, and doujins. One of the basic ideas of economics is that when there's more demand, there's higher prices. And we've all noticed that when specific doujins are reviewed in this thread, copies will show up on E-bay within a week or two. So we're not discussing things in a vacuum here: we're being closely observed by dozens of sellers. The good thing about being observed is that these sellers do our dirty-work for us: they locate copies of these doujins from sources in Japan, so that we don't have to. But the bad side is that we have to pay a lot of money for that service, and for that form of "instant gratification".
High OP doujinshi prices are nothing new on E-Bay (I remember paying nearly $100 for my first doujin on E-Bay -- only because I was so new to the scene that I didn't realize the term "rare" is relative, and that a doujin's "rarity" can change within a year, due to reprinting; fans losing interest in a pairing or character; appearance in an anthology; etc). However, in the past, there were also more E-bay vendors who kept their prices in line with current doujin prices in Japan ($5 for an anthology, $15 for a doujin, $30 for an artist's compilation/reprint, etc). There are fewer of these vendors now. And there's no good reason for this (other than to maximize profit) -- especially when the same items can be ordered directly from Japan, including the cost of shipping and handling, for much less!
I understand that sellers are trying to make a living, but $75 for a readily available, untranslated doujin, or $50 for an anthology volume that cost the original owner $15 at the absolute most (though they probably bought it as a remainder for $3…). That's outrageous! But, as I mentioned before, as long as people are willing to pay these high prices, sellers will continue charging them.
So -- for the benefit of the entire OP doujin community, I'd like to ask you favor: please think carefully about your E-bay purchases before you make them, and please resist outrageously priced items as best you can. I know it's difficult -- especially when you see a doujin that you've been eagerly searching for -- but if there's one thing I've realized, it's that you can almost always get the doujin you want at the price you want if you're willing to wait and willing to search through several different sites regularly. Many times, a good price is simply about being on the right site at the right time, so frequent visits to various doujin websites (including E-bay) can yield fruitful results.
When you do decide to purchase something on E-bay, try to give your business to the long-time sellers who price fairly (ishiishiishi or Magical Girl, for example, or the 99 cents anthology auction guy -- sorry, but I've forgotten his name!). Or, if you can't go to them, please go to someone who will give you extra value for your money: either in the form of a detailed description of the contents, discounted shipping, multiple sample page scans, a translation, registered mail, or some other distinguishing service. In other words, if you must pay a high price, pay it for a good reason ... Doing this will send a clear message to our sellers: that we appreciate them and what they do for us -- but that it's important for them to consider our needs and limited budgets as well as their own ...
thanks for considering,
dinty
I purchase a good deal of my doujins from E-bay, but I've made it a habit to only bid on sellers from Japan.
In fact, I just won three ShanksxBeckman doujinshi. Two are normal doujinshi, and the other is an artist compiliation. With shipping, it cost me 15.50. =D. Me very VERY happy. I'm also hoping to snag at least two more doujins that are reasonably priced on there sometime soon :p.
that reminds me of a guy XD
Me and him were bidding on a RobinxLuffy, RobinxSanji doujinshi, which I lost (boo) in the end it sold for $100
a few weeks later, it appeared by the person who bought it, selling at (you guessed it) $100
it didn't sell…so what does he do? reduce the price? NO!
It's still trying to sell for $200 XD XD

…WHAT?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
Two things:
Ishiishiishi has ridiculous prices. Seriously. 25$ is the average price for all doujinshi he/she sells. That's too much.
Secondly, WHO THE insertexpletivehere WOULD CHARGE\PAY MORE THAN $30 FOR A DOUJINSHI (With your situation aside, if there are plenty of people doing it, there has to be a reason)?! Wow…
If anyone needs to find some doujinshi, I can get you it for less than $20. As stated before, I have NEVER payed more than 25$ for a doujinshi. I buy most of it for 2-5$ ON EBAY.
Easy tip: Try different forms of ebay (Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia). Most sellers WILL sell internationally (except me , it's too much trouble for only once or twice a year) and the prices there ARE cheaper (closer to Japan, have tons of doujinshi). Also, I recommend NOT buying doujinshi at an anime convetion UNLESS the pairing is really obscure, the price is cheap, or you just REALLY WANT IT. Most doujinshi sold at convetions are overpriced, and....lots of people buy them >_<; Besides that, they are usually common doujinshi that you can get on ebay.
As for downloading doujinshi...I'd actually RECOMMEND doing this IF you are buying an H/Yaoi doujinshi. Believe me on this one....I almost ended up with a nice GURO PIECE doujinshi O.o; (Damn covert art; You can't tell what's inside).
BTW, I got a load of new doujinshi. Only one is One Piece and its an H doujin (I believe Local might have it. It's called Wheat. The circle is Marimeya. Has Nami in W7 clothes on the cover). I bought it because of the cover (I scanned the pages on a website to make sure it didn't have any guro content in it).
Hmm...I can't remember what it's called now, but I found a great auction/store-type place a while back. They had TONS of RARE pairings there. It's where I got my Harry/Hermione doujinshi ($15). It was a pretty good site....but that was 3 years ago and it might not exist anymore >_<;
Ishiishiishi has ridiculous prices. Seriously. 25$ is the average price for all doujinshi he/she sells. That's too much.
Really? Prices must have risen. I purchased many doujins from this vendor two years ago on E-bay and, on an average, I paid $6-$15 per doujin (initial prices were $15, but if the doujin received no bids on auction, then it would be discounted to $5.99 and placed in "buy it now" – since there were fewer people purchasing these doujins then, I often waited until the auction was over, to get the lower price. It's much more risky to do that now) ... And while that's still twice the price compared to purchasing them overseas, this was the cheapest way to purchase high-quality doujins by well-known artists in a Paypal-friendly and familiar environment. Granted, it's easier to find obscure OP doujins for less money, but for established artists like Secco, Wave, Sanami Matoh, etc, those were reasonable prices then.
Secondly, WHO THE insertexpletivehere WOULD CHARGE\PAY MORE THAN $30 FOR A DOUJINSHI (With your situation aside, if there are plenty of people doing it, there has to be a reason)?! Wow…
I can think of several good reasons why people would spend that much money – based on my own experience and on comments we've seen in this thread:
People who can only use Paypal to make payments. Many overseas bookstores don't accept Paypal.
People who don't want to spend a fortune on money orders, or who don't want to deal with the hassle of going to the post office to get one.
People who want translations with their doujins.
People who aren't bilingual, or who don't have enough experience searching websites with translation software, or who don't know how to figure out exchange rates.
People who are only collecting one particular artist or circle, and who
have not been able to find that artist's doujins on foreign websites
People who are worried about the customs laws of their countries, and the possibility that their package may be searched and seized if it comes from overseas.
People who require instant gratification, or who have obsessive-compulsive personalities. ;)
People who are collecting a particular pairing (as you yourself admitted earlier, you own no LuffyxNami doujins, though you'd like to, because the price is too high. Some fans of certain pairings are willing to purchase pricier volumes for that pairing, but not for anything else -- so they'll pay $20 max for LxN, but $5 max for All-Chara).
Anyways, you get the idea, right?
If anyone needs to find some doujinshi, I can get you it for less than $20. As stated before, I have NEVER payed more than 25$ for a doujinshi. I buy most of it for 2-5$ ON EBAY.
Thanks for the offer! I'll keep that in mind. Feel free to share more tips. I'll be glad to post them in the FAQ if they work well for others too.
Easy tip: Try different forms of ebay (Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia).
This is a great tip! – but in which language are the Singapore and Hong Kong sites? If it's Chinese, that won't help the doujin fans who only understand English. The Australian E-bay would be a good place for them to go though.
(I scanned the pages on a website to make sure it didn't have any guro content in it).
Scans are useful for that. I'm not against scans for previewing doujins. I'm just against them when they replace legitimate doujin sales.

Well done, Bee's Wing! That's about $5 an item – very good price.

Yeah, it's that one. I'll reply more when I get out of work.
is there a service aside from mangahelpers who translates doujinshi? either free or con payment, I don't mind. I'm going nuts trying to figure out what Sham says in Reiya Hidaka's doujin!
This is why I never buy doujins. The prices.
Okay folks, quick question. What is the usual quantity of copies a circle produces for a single doujin?
@Pass:

Okay folks, quick question. What is the usual quantity of copies a circle produces for a single doujin?
It depends on many different things: (1) how popular the artist is (2) how much money they can afford to spend on printing (3) how many copies of a doujin they think they can sell – no sense in printing 500 if you only sell 25, right? (4) if they have some sort of financial backing, etc.
Someone once told me that 250 copies is about average for the better-known artists, but that hasn't been confirmed yet, so don't quote me.
Numbers aside, it's not uncommon for popular artists to sell all their copies at one event. Sometimes they'll do a second reprinting if there's a big demand for it, and sometimes they won't. Or they might reprint a few of their most popular volumes in an anthology.
EDIT :
A trustworthy friend recommended the following doujinshi vendor to me. I gave the site a quick preview, and found that it has a small OP doujinshi collection, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in quality and in reasonable (or at least "reasonable" for established/popular doujinshi artists) prices. Most of the OP doujins here are between $8 and $15, and the majority are well-known and respected artists – the emphasis seems to be on Het Romance, not Yaoi (though you can find some of the yaoi here, too. There's also a bit of hentai -- but with more narrative than the usual, it seems).
I've seen a lot of the Het Romance titles on this site going for three times the price on E-bay, so before you shell out $45 for a Het Romance on E-bay, have a look here. Especially if you are a Zoro/Nami, Sanji/Nami, Kozha/Vivi, or Zoro/Robin fan ... They even have a copy of Game-Can's Luffy&Nami doujin called "Restart" -- which was what TraumWanderer was looking for. So Traum, if nobody's given you scans yet, here's a chance to own the item -- $10 plus shipping.
As for the yaoi -- there are several Secco doujins, for $8-9, as well as some Linoleum Kitchen erotica featuring ZxS, SxL (and I think there was even one with a threesome but I could be wrong), as well as some Z/L and L/Z by a different artist.
Like nearly all doujinshi vendors based in Japan, Happy Otaku can't accept Paypal. So you have to pay them with Kagi or Money Order.
Have a look:
http://www.happyotakusite.jp/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_6&sort=9d&page=1
If you do order from them, let me know how it went. If several of us have positive experiences with Happy Otaku, I'll add them to our FAQ.
That site looks great dinty! They have Ups-A-Daisy (I've seen it on E-bay for a lot of money) as well as the Codename Justice Anthology.
Once I get my next paycheck, I'll give them a try…once I figure out how to pay them XD.

Looks like they take IMPO (International postal Money Order) and Kagi.
Kagi is like Paypal, except you don't have to sign up for an account there. You simply submit your credit card or debit card info each time you use it. It takes a huge leap of faith to use it the first time – since it's much less well known than Paypal, and since you're giving them such important information, but I know several people (myself included) who've used it for years now and had no problem -- (knocks wood). It seems that Kagi is popular with doujinshi sellers because Kagi doesn't discriminate based on what's being sold. Paypal does. (Paypal will not let vendors who sell hentai use their services). When you pay by Kagi, you avoid the hassle of fetching money orders as well as the cost of buying and shipping those money orders. With Kagi, your $$ gets to the vendor faster too -- so you'll get your items faster. Payment by Kagi is like this : after you purchase your items, the vendor will send you a link to Kagi which will then connect you to your specific order. You verify the amount, fill out your address and credit or debit card number, and that's it. You'll get an electronic receipt, and the vendor will too. Most vendors will then send you another message verifying receipt and giving you tracking numbers and other shipping information.
If you're paying by IMPO, the vendor will give you between 6-10 days to get your IMPO to them. This means you'll want to purchase it with in a day or two and send it registered air mail (takes approx 5-8 days).Be sure to tell them which day you sent it out, so that if it arrives a day or two after the deadline, they won't sell your stuff to someone else! I once thought Global Priority was the best way to go, because it was faster -- but one of my money orders was lost that way and there was no way to trace it. So learn from my error and go Registered instead (it's cheaper than global priority too!). Be sure you get the pink colored money order. That's the international one. Japanese vendors can't accept USA domestic money orders. The US post office sells IMPOs for a small fee, but sometimes if you ask your bank nicely, your bank will create one for you for free.
Hope that helps.
Loving the selection and prices (and how some of the prices are slashed off :D) but I wish they could have better summaries
"This is sweet story about Doctor and Chopper"
I need so much more! For all we know it could be a story about Chopper getting emotional support from Kureha after a failed stint as a masked luchador

More info would be nice, but at the same time, if you know too much, it spoils the story. Then again, since we can't read Japanese, it may not spoil it as much for us as it would for someone who can.
'Sweet story' usually means 'safe' – not erotic.
So while we can't confirm that Chopper was a failed luchador from this summary, at least we know he and the Good Doctorine won't be doin' the nasty...
Phew!
The summary doesn"t even tell us if it"s Kureha or Hiriluk! __ Heck it could be Doc Q!

If all you're trying to get translated is a sentence or two of text, why not just post the image in this thread and see if any of our bilingual regulars are up for translating it.
(We have several here who don't mind translating a few words informally, but who don't have time to translate an entire doujin).
If you want your entire doujin translated, HappyHooper on E-bay can do that for you, but her fees are steep, so you've been warned:
The one doujin I own (that 'Couples' Chuu x Arlong one) had several pages of what looked (to me) like a discussion section– solid text pages with the lines beginning with a circled character, like a script identifying back-and-forth speakers. Is that typical?
I'd guess that will run the price of translation up a bit :3

Hmm, sounds like you may have either a screen-play or novel in your doujin. Interesting! I don't know if it's "typical", but there are several circles out there that feature fan-fic as well as comics in their doujins. HYS may be one of them.
For text that dense, it's best not to go to HappyHooper – you'll end up paying hundreds of dollars! A better idea would be to try to find someone who can give you a short summary, not a word-for-word translation, for, say, 20$.
Or, if you insist on a word-for-word translation, to keep the expenses down, you might try finding someone with whom you can barter. For instance, the person translates your doujin, and in return you help the translator create/modify a website.
Doujinshi with Sham
Post some pics of it here, or pm me, and I'll see what I can do.
I am very busy though, so….hopefully it's not too much XD;;
I am better with reading because looking up kanji is very easy to do.
From my past experience, using IPMO is a VERY risky thing to do. Actually, using Money Orders in general is. I lost 30$ in a transaction before a few years ago (I would've had kaizoku game 6 and another anthology if that never happened).
ALSO, using paypal for hentai is SO easy. All you have to do is ask the seller to give you a paypal request with goods (non-auction) and just put the words "doujinshi" as the item. Also, saying its a "service" works as well (it won't help, though, if you don't receive an item).
Dinty! Quick question, and sorry that its not a PM (since I cant pop up windows right now >_<)
How about adding in links to places you can read translated dji(to the FAQs)? Like Paper_cut Scans @ LJ, for example, is in the middle of translating an anothology Z/S (with some Z/L in it). Plus Dizzy has some translated ones most people over look.
Just cuz I remember the old thread having it(and I don't really have the time right now to scan thur this one, cuz I'm sure someone has posted/asked).

Oh, that would be their ongoing Ichioku project …
Papercut started last year, then took a long hiatus, but now they're back. The most recent release came out just a day or so ago. They're also working on another anthology by a different circle, but that's still on hiatus too.
I've thought about adding links to Papercut here many times, but always decided against it for these reasons:
(1) several offerings are hard yaoi or soft yaoi, and that goes against the "PG-13" guideline for this website.
(2) If we attract too much attention to Papercut, they may be told to "cease and desist" by the circles they've been scanlating.
(3) I don't want Ichioku and the other circle to suffer financially -- both have been creating high quality All-Chara, S/Z and Z/S doujins for years now -- and if sales dropped suddenly because too many people were reading scanlations instead of purchasing original doujins from them, then both circles might decide not to create doujins anymore!
(I've heard that this might be why Ichioku pulled so much art from their website: because the art was being stolen. The other circle has no website for the same reason -- frustration over theft).
Plus Dizzy has some translated ones most people over look.
Again, same situation, same problems. But in the case of Dizzy, it's also because so much of the content there is strong yaoi – one or two even verging on hardcore.
(and I don't really have the time right now to scan thur this one, cuz I'm sure someone has posted/asked).
Actually, as best I know, you're the first one to ask in this thread. Several people have asked me for links via PM though, and I don't mind that, so long as I can tell that they're not kids.
Here's a quick tip:
The Grand Line Daily Vine website covers all of Papercut's new releases, as well as the releases of several other doujin translators and scanlators. So if you check GLDV daily, you'll always be on top of the newest releases. They provide direct links as well.
To get to GLDV, go to the stickied thread at the top of the forum. Click on any of the older issue links there, and that will take you to the GLDV site itself, where you can then click "recent issues" to see the latest. Doujin scans and trans are usually listed in the "misc" section at the bottom. And while you're there, have a look at all the home-grown fan art in the fan-art section too. Sometimes you'll see something in there that's as good as a professional douijn.
(Oh, Dizzy is no longer an active site, but they've made a deal with Papercut which allows Papercut to retroactively scanlate their offerings)

Sorry to hear about your loss too, RuNa. Did you try to get a refund from the post office? As long as you have your IMPO receipt and the cash register receipt from the post office, you can go to them and file a lost IMPO claim. If they see that the Money Order hasn't been cashed yet, they'll refund your money. But I think this has to be done within 30 days of purchasing the IMPO. And if you haven't got either receipt, they can't do it for you. So be sure to save all receipts!
Thanks for the tip about Paypal. That will work well for individual E-bay sellers, but I'm not sure it can be done with doujin stores, unless someone from the store is willing to use a personal account for the transaction.
Interesting …!
is it just certain countries that have trouble with hentai? I mean, I bought loads of hentai doujins using paypal and had no trouble….
Anyways, new doujin today ^_^ Robin + Usopp + Sanji story.
What"s the title?
no idea lol, its by Cafe Runaky tho so ^^
Where"d you buy it? If it was from ebay can you post a link to the auction page if it still exists?
Hanahanasan. That's the name, I believe there may be another on there. Overall its an ok doujin, there is a short story where Robin seems to pull apart the ship for some reason. And then Sanji comes and bakes Usopp food so he's happy, dunno.
And the rest is RobinxSanji. Not really a pairing I like, but I love Runaky's stuff so.
New dji!
I can't read the name cuz of the font (shut up, I'm limited) but its by T-crusher of JUNK JANGLE CAFE~ I've also been to there site before and have the link…
Its cute without being TOO cute(but still cute). Even tho its Z/S-EVERYONE IS IN IT (7 mugiwara crew)
I say its PG-14, theres 'sex' which looks more like savage hugging, but thats just me. It could be 18A for others :/ (I'm Canadian. Our ratings are lower)
I got this from the site (poor webcam pics to follow):
!
If any one finds more of this artist, I think I might try and get my paws on them. Good mix of everything even if it is alil too cute for me.
Mark got a anthology book based on the movies =3 Worth it just for the floppy hat Robin on the front.
I'll take pics later.

You must be buying from individuals instead of from stores. Do you purchase a lot on E-bay? Paypal doesn't seem to come after individuals with the same zeal that it comes after Japanese stores, so that could be why. Another possibility is that the stores you're purchasing from are new, and that Paypal doesn't know about them yet. Or, they could have found some loop-hole through Paypal that the others haven't yet.
@Iron:
New dji!

T Crusher!!
Where did you find that, Iron Law? (If you don't mind me asking). T Crusher makes some of the best covers out there – such loopy vitality! The style is sharp and the lines are calligraphic. Fun color choices too. And a cute website.
When I first saw a T Crusher doujin about a year ago, I nicknamed her "The Artist Who Needs to Work for Nickelodeon" -- she's got that edgy-arty-kid vibe that would be perfect for their publications (well, minus the yaoi ...)
(^_^;)
For your enjoyment, a few more T Crusher cover scans:
(EDIT : these scans came form YahooJapan, not from my own collection – I don't own any T Crusher doujins yet -- my apologies to the sellers I borrowed these pictures from, I forgot to write their names down, so I can't give them proper credit)
Sorry for the double-post, but it's time for more YahooJapan highlights!
As usual, I've kept as wide a range as wide as possible – so if it's not included this time (W7, yuri, Buggy, etc) it's because I couldn't find any. Also, as always, if you're looking for something specific, just say so, and I'll do what I can (within reason) to find it for you.
Often, circles include promotional papers w/ doujins, which then become collector's items too, due to the artwork -- here's a neat set from ETD:
http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r31351580
Wow, the foreshortening is so well done on this Entichers cover that it almost looks as though Robin, Sanji and Zoro are standing on the table!
http://page16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u15476816
Here's the cover for that third "Night Cruise" anthology. As with most of the volumes in this series, removing the white band reveals a more erotic version of the pic:

That crazy Sanji, he really gets around, eh?
– here he's paired with Ace, Zoro, and Ener.

A big selection of Munta doujins. Gotta love that back cover with evil-looking Choppy dragging a sack of cash across the floor:

And here's a rarity – the very first Hachimaru All-Chara "Package":

Long story short- my cuzin bought it for me at Ai-kon (winnipeg anime con). I was flabagasted that she even FOUND dji, let alone OP ones. She said it was the only one out of 3 that matched my standards of: Not uber cute, no girly men or poorly drawn XD
For my first dji, I'm quite proud to own it n_n (its also sold out on the site… so lucky me)
My only nick with the thing is the cover reminds me too much of our town's goddamn logo: 'Spirited Manitoba' PISSES ME OFF LOATHS
Anywho...
About a few days ago I got this off LJ:
It's an Ajimiya collection of 6 or so dji. 250 pgs~ hell yes!
Should be getting it some time later this week or so.

Even though you dislike the similarity to "sprited Manitoba", sounds like it was destined to be your first one. ;) Your friend has a good eye, and understands your taste well.

Nice, that's a good score for any ZxS fan! I've seen individual Ajimaya doujins for sale on JP Queen, but not an anthology. Looks like you've got a rare one.
Oh, on a slightly different subject:
Attention Galley-La, Lucci, Bleuno and W7 fans – four Basso doujins have appeared on YahooJapan today. Take a look:
Ah, that Penguin cover is from Pirates Diary 1. I've been trying to find it for a while now, as I loveth my Penguin. The doujinshi with the leopard pants Ussop is also by Penguin, as is the doujinshi featured with it. Goldenboy has the Uso-leopard pants, and it's one of my faveorite doujinshi. The second is Super King, which I've been looking for >_>;.
And is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a slight increase in cheaper doujinshi floating around E-bay?
My ShanksxBen doujinshis should be arriving in the mail soon. One of the doujinshi even featured a set of three postcards, so I'll be sure to scan those :p. They are so going on my wall XD.
The seller shipped them on July 31st, and I live in LA. I just am so excited because she sent me a gift with the doujinshi for being her first buyer. I'm so impatient XD. If anyone is interested in knowing the doujinshi I got, they are:
Integration (Doppelgangers! Anthology)
a spoonful of the Christmas by Doppelgangers!
Storm by Doppelgangers!
Just a few more days methinks >_>.
@Bee's:

Ah, of course! Now that you mention it, I see the similarity – Funny how I was able to correctly identify the harder one, but not the two more obvious ones!
And is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a slight increase in cheaper doujinshi floating around E-bay?
I haven't been to E-bay since I wrote my plea, so I'm thrilled to hear that some sellers took my words to heart (Or maybe they didn't actually read my words or they did and didn't care – but for whatever reason they decided to lower their prices, I'm grateful, and I hope they'll keep them lower for us!
When you said "increase", you worried me, Bee's Wing! -- I thought you were about to tell me that prices had risen again!, but no (and thankfully for that!) you meant that there's been an increase in the decrease. Hahah!
It's a simple matter of economics:
At a high price, a seller can sell just one doujin and make maximum profit on it, but since few people can afford it at that price, it may be a long time before the item is sold. However, if the price is lower, more people will be able to afford them, and the items will sell faster. And though the seller may not get as much money for each individual doujin, the total profit at the end of the week may be higher. For instance (in both cases, each seller purchased each doujin originally for $10):
Seller A:
One doujin sold for $25 each = in one week, a $15 profit
Seller B:
Six doujins for $15 each = in one week, a $30 profit
I don't know about the rest of our regulars, but I'm always more inclined to buy multiple items from a seller when the prices are lower. (Like for instance how I mentioned that I would often purchase 4-10 anthologies at one time from a single E-bay vendor when the price was only $2-$5 per anthology. However, if the price had been $15 each, I wouldn't have purchased any, and if it had been $10, I would only have purchased one.
Sounds like that's your strategy too Bee's Wing.
– be sure to tell us about your doujins and omake when you get them!
Large lot with something for everyone: doujins about Shanks, Hina,Tashigi, Smoker, plus all the usual suspects … (Bee's Wing, your new doujin is here too!)
http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m46144085
This artist really does some great art. I like how he/she did Hina in a different way.
I've seen a ton of Anthologies recently for .99 cent auctions, but it's a different person from the normal .99 cent auction guy. Mentioning him, he's opened a store with a tiny selection of 5 dollar anthologies. Not bad eh?
I've also seen some all-character, long out of print doujinshi going for around ten dollars. On E-Bay, that's a steal XD. I'd have bought a lot more doujinshi but I wanted to save my paycheck for my day trip to Little Tokyo with my boyfriend and best friend. I may find some doujinshi there, you never know! I'm going on Saturday, which'll cheer me up greatly after tommorow.
Here's hoping that when I come back from getting my deep cleaning and fillings my ShanksxBen doujinshis will be happily waiting for me on the kitchen table. I'm just glad my mother doesn't pry through my mail like she does my father's mail. >_>;.
I wonder ask, which are the doujins starring Alvida?

And as for that delicious half-naked Zoro…. <3333
Dammit I need to check out this thread more often…
This artist really does some great art. I like how he/she did Hina in a different way.
Yeah, I liked that a lot too, Kuroneko. I'm not sure it's the same artist for every doujin in this listing, but it looks as though that artist (or circle) was responsible for at least two or three of them. Hina and Tashigi look great there. If I find that douijin in an individual listing on YahooJapan, I'll post it here, so that we can see the cover in more detail.
Bee's Wing, thanks for the E-bay update!
Good news all around.
And Neko – welcome back. Yes, you should visit more often. :)
We miss you! And some of the art here may help inspire you for your chibi thread.
