Katekyo Hitman REBORN! Discussion

@Tokoro:
I sort of see Reborn as part of Jump's "second tier". Usually OP, Naruto and Bleach are above it…but it makes up the second tier alongside Gintama and ES21.
Don't forget d.gray-man

Yeah, a bit too much but its fun watching series rise and fall.
As for D.Gray-man…sort of see that in whatever tier is below the second (which is sort of popular but not as big as the first two) That's where other longer running series like PoT, Neuro and maybe stuff like Jaguar or KochiKame belong. They are popular and have followers but not as big as the top two tier.

@bunshindattebayo:
IT WILL!!!!!!!!!! BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!
OK I WILL.
I cant wait till next episode more kick ass dino action
-
It explains more about the rings and you get some short insite about the vongolia family but that's pretty much it for episode 34.
I meant to skip the unsubbed episodes (19-33), not this one. Given SHS current pace, they won't reach this arc until next year, so i was wondering.

I never read the manga of this series, I directly watched it in youtube a couple of weeks ago when I was searching a persons video (his name is NarutoXguild, he had some couple anime that I liked, and in full). Do you know whihch chapter is the one when Gokudera start fighting the yoyo dude?
Sorry for the above post, that was a mistake (can someone remove it)?
-
I think Gokudera starts fighting the yoyo guy in chapter 64.
If you click "edit" on that post, you should then see an option to delete it.
-
I badly need to catch up on this series. On one hand I feel kind of sad that a humor manga became a huge action fighting action action piece, but on the other hand it looks incredibly bad ass.
-
I know what you mean, man. But sometimes, it's for the better. Kinnikuman was meant to be an Ultraman parody, don't forget.
With KHR, it seems like it was inevitable that it would turn into action. I mean, how can you have mafia in a shonen and NOT expect fights? And with the kind of originality in the series, it turns out so well.
-
What I find great about Reborn! is that, even though it's turned into an action series, it's crazy random humor is still there.
-

I know what you mean. When I first started reading, I kept asking myself, "When will they do, you know, actual mafia stuff?"
-
Is there anyone who is scanlating up to the current chpater?
I read the Kokuyu arc and loved it, but I couldn't find anything else.
-

My thoughts exactly. Though I did like how the earlier chapters before the Kokuyu arc each had a different story to them.
-
The biggest thing about the shift from pure humor to action-comedy that concerns me is how Tsuna will be able to fight once he "graduates" from Reborn's tutoring. Will he learn how to enter his dying state at will or something? He sort of did in Dr. Shamal's introduction chapter, but…

they're a yaoi group that releases the future arc with another group every once and awhile. They release REALLY slowly (2 chapters every 2 months?)
-
can anyone help me find a picture of tsuna in his rebuke form in color (alone if can) i need it for a project i'm doing. Plz and thank you

Here you go:
!
Is this good enough?I coloured it by myself using paint program,so I dont know if you'll like it
btw,I have the mukuro one if you wantWhat kind of project are you doing anyway?
-
Thanks. I making a board game for a school project and i putting all my favorite manga in it. Is like a rpg type where you pick 4 character to be in your team and you need to kill your opponents character, it's kind of hard to explain. Thanks again bunshindattebayo
-
Are the opponents character is the villain of those manga that you use for school project?
Sounds like a cool project,by the way -
No, its mix between good guys and bad guys in the manga Reborn, One piece, Bleach, Naruto, and the other jump manga. I make a character info for each character in each manga, the info has a picture, which manga it is, and their power and health. the game is almost done. Thanks for the pic and the comment i tell you what grade i get.
-
Well,good luck then
-
I stopped reading this a while ago (something like chapter 40?), so I've got a question: when the comic-to-action shift happens, does Tsuna retain his whiny, coward, annoying "straight man" attitude? That's the thing that turns me off the most from enjoying this manga…well, any input is appreciated.
Now that I think about it, the comment Reborn made about mafia being "chivalrous people who protect the populace" was really idiotic and offensive, but it's a comic series, so it's -barely- acceptable...
-
Well, (I don't remember reading that but I'm really behind) it's difficult to sympathize with the main characters if they're doing real mafia activity (drugs, etc.).
Reminds me of how Giorno's goal in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5 was to become a mafia superstar and reform the mob.

Yes, Tsuna keeps his additude when the manga gets all actiony. The difference is that he has his moments of badassness.
-
Thanks, Killerfly. That's…..not good to hear. Oh well, whatever...
About Moretti, that playing dead specialist: did he disappear from the story altogether or does he appear later? I never saw him anymore after his introductory chapter...was he that unpopular?
Carter, here it is: http://www.onemanga.com/Katekyo_Hitman_Reborn%21/40/05/
the last panel. I din't remember it correctly, but the gist's the same.
-
As of the 95 chapters scanlated, I haven't seem him return. But there are a bunch of characters that were introduced in the daily life arc that haven't played a part in the action story yet.
-
Shinsen has subbed eps 19-21. Let the Kukuyo arc begin…
-
I'm thinking about also giving this series a shot too. The mafia theme sounds like something that'd be up my alley. What type of series would this be described as? And what is considered the highlight arc of the series? Thanks in advance
-
Yeah, I heard the playing-dead guy never comes back up.
-
I consider Reborn to be mostly a gag comedy. After the Daily Life arc, it becomes more action oriented, but it still maintains it's random humor.
As of right now, the anime goes like this:
Daily Life Arc(Part 1) - comedy - eps 1-19
Kokuyo Arc - action/comedy - eps 20-26
Daily Life Arc(Part 2) - comedy - eps 27-33
Vongola Rings Arc - action/comedy - eps 34+The Vongola Rings Arc is probably the highlight arc of Reborn! currently, but I think the arc right after it is still going on in the manga.
-
I know Longchamp, who was introduced near the end of the Daily Life Arc, is a character I've really been waiting to see return ever since Reborn! got all actiony.
-
I just watched episodes 1-11. It's alright so far. And I thought One Piece was wierd, this shit makes OP look like the most normal manga ever. Talking hitman babies and grown men that change into babies. A guy who gets naked when he's shot, I have to assume drugs were involved in the process of making this series.
I'd say my favorite characters are the boxer, Reborn and Lambo (baby). At this point, I don't see how a series like this can turn into an action manga like everyone says. It's too goofy (not that that's a bad thing tho)
-
All I can say is "just wait and see".
-
I don't see a problem with Tsuna retaining his wimpy attitude in the midst of the fighting, since the reverse (becoming suddenly confident and bad ass) would be pretty unbelievable and lame.
Tsuna's wimpiness is kind of integral to the Reborn! charm, so if that were lost then the shift would really be the kind of thing I feared.
-
I think Moretti gets a cameo at one point in the Varia arc. No major role or anything, but a quick appearance towards the end IIRC.
-
sweet 21 is out now i need to watch that one,
Why did they take hayato's cigarettes away from him?
-
Ah, that's probably Tv Tokyo's doing. Honestly, i don't know too much about Japan's broadcasting, but watching the animes airing on Tv Tokyo, the impression is that their censorship laws are more…restrictive than the others.
Anyway, good to see SHS-Formula is back.
-
Daily Life Arc(Part 1) - comedy - eps 1-19
Kokuyo Arc - action/comedy - eps 20-26
Daily Life Arc(Part 2) - comedy - eps 27-33
Vongola Rings Arc - action/comedy - eps 34+Where's the Mafia Land arc?
-
@ Carter: I think he's far too wimpy, selfish, annoying, you name it. He doesn't have a single spark of confidence…(Dying will time excluded, of course). It's annoying when his friends are attacked and all he says is "Oh crap I'm gonna get attacked now!". But well, without this attitude the dying will would be less useful, I reckon.
-

It's all about timeslots. Pretty sure this is a sunday morning anime aimed mostly at younger kids, even tho I at 22 fiendishly enjoy it
-
Where's the Mafia Land arc?
I believe eps 30 and 31 cover the Mafia Land Arc. I don't really consider that Arc seperate from the Daily Life Arc myself.
-
Ah, I just read that and thought they skipped it or something.
-
I really want to start the Vongola Ring Arc but I'm still stuck w/ episode 21, I guess I have no choice but to watch it raw (unless one of you know how to add subtitles in stormberry.tv)?
-

Toriyama's World and KEFI have subbed episode 34, and I assume they will sub more after that.
-
As far as I can tell, that isn't really that big of a thing later on..
! Tsuna risked his life to save Lambo during his Ring Match when he was unconscious and his opponent was about to kill him. This nearly lost him his own Ring and the right to inherit the Vongola family.
-
If anybody could upload episodes 21 - 30 on youtube or dailymotion, I'd be most grateful.
-
So I assume you've watched up to 20, and see now how the series is becoming action?
-
Yep, I definitely see it. I hope somebody uploads the epis soon, I hate using torrents, plus I can catch up much faster.
