Hulki s going to fight characters like Blackbolt and the Sentry!!! Now if Hulk beats characters that he has no business beating, I won't be surprised.

So it's been awhile since I've read any comics, but lately I've been itching to start again. The only problem is, well, it's a bit daunting to find something good to start from. I picked up The Road to Civil War TPB today to get started on the whole Civil War deal, so I'm just wondering if there's anything else (Marvel) that would be worth looking up.
Thunderbolts#110 and over. Amazing Spider-Man#532-538.
I just started reading the Authority and am loving it so far (through 5 issues)
I'd actually recommend most Black Panther, though I avoided this month's issue. New Avengers is good in bulk, so #27 - 30 works. And besides Daredevil, there is nothing I look foward to more each month than Iron Fist and the new Thunderbolts.
For CW, I'd just go with the main series and Spidey issues. WWH, I basically think everything but Heroes for Hire and Gamma Corps looks promising.
I think you should try the annihilation series as well if you into that cosmic power Stuff
I used to be a DC Fiend when I was in High-School. Even though I do not read comics like I used to ( I prefer Manga and Graphic Novels) I still Read Comics every once in a while. My favorite characters are:
DC
Green Lantern
J'onn J'onzz
Superman (the one that it'sn't God)
Classic Spectre ( Jim corrigan)
Marvel
Blade (Snipes version)
Thor (in someway's)
Silver Surfer ( I dislike his design though)
I read the latest issue of ASM. It is getting better. This back in black is turning out to be pretty good. I loved the ending when Peter calls Fist. Fist is just so casual instead of afraid. "Hello, Mr. Parker. How can I help you?" I applaude you, Marvel. You have renewed my interest in the title after two disappointing issues.
In other news,
!
No real reason for posting this, I just liked it.
Grendel vs. Spiderman?
He looks so much like Deadpool there..
Thanks for all the recommendations, some really kick ass stuff I've got to read the last couple days. Especially enjoyed the newer Thunderbolts and Planet Hulk. Actually, make that a double especially for Planet Hulk, since now I'm all set to go with World War Hulk starting this month.

Who drew that?
Anyways, I've officially jumped on the Thunderbolts bandwagon, though there are things that irk me about it. Like how Norman Osborn looks like Tommy Lee Jones. But other than that, awesome.
Also, read JSA. Best team book in the market, in my opinion. Awesome chemistry in the team members, and how can you not love that insane deranged Starman? Buy it.
Who drew that?
Adonhis. A deviantart member trying to get a job as a drawer for Marvel. The Venom pic was one of several pics he plans to present to Marvel execs at Comic-con. I wish him the best of luck.
Thunderbolts is quickly becoming my favorite title. I had this dream last night where Dr. Doom joined the team. And it got me thinking, what if that actually happened? For one thing, Marvel would actually know what to do with Doomy for once instead of reviving him every 23 months for some new angle or return. It would be interesting since he'd be piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiised off worse than he's ever been before and I think it might push for some good personal Doom stories. But on the opposite, it can easily be screwed up so horribly.
Here's some Recommendations for comics and Graphic Novels
Preacher
Sand-Man
New Frontier
Watchmen
Anything DC/Vertigo

I see we got Lucifer Mornigstar fans! Good to see that. Possibly the most cunning and witty character in all of comics.
everyone loves Lucifer
oh and read the Authority AWESOME
Umm, I was wondering, what is the reason MacVenom fluctuates between big-ass Eddie Brock Venom and skinny-ass Eric Foreman one? He sometimes even loses the Gargan eyes, just read the latest issue. Was it because of the piece of sword that was lodged on his chest?
I haven't read Thunderbolts in awhile. I liked the original series a lot back when it was first coming out though. I also read the first few issues of the second series (although the second series went back to the original numbering or something, which I always thought was confusing - because whenever I would start talking about "New Thunderbolts" and I didn't know it went back to the old numbering, people had no idea what I was talking about).
I know I ask this at least once a page, but is anyone else reading All-Star Superman? The recent issue portrays the Bizarros in a different and interesting manner. Grant Morrison really has brought a lot of great ideas to the book.
I need some recommendations for new reading material. What does everyone think of:

- Annihilation
- Beyond!
- Blue Beetle
- Jack of Fables
I haven't read Jack of Fables, but I'm a big fan of the regular series and it gets my highest recommendation. At some point I'm going to look for a trade. Haven't touched any of the others.
All-Star Superman I was reading for a while and then I missed an issue and just sort of didn't pick up any more. If they are doing Bizarro in the current story line I'll have to pick it back up.

Enjoying All Star, Annihilation is a big yes (especially the spinoffs), Beyond is a no for me, Blue Beetle I've never checked out but I've heard good things and Jack of Fables is fantastic if you already like Fables, and it's easy to pick up, but a little hard to get hooked onto if you don't.
I second Annihilation. I just finished reading the second graphic novel last night and loved it. Just wish they're hurry up and release the third one.

Haha, that made me wonder if there was some special variant issue featuring Danny Rand.
I wish I could be more excited about this week. The X-Men special looks nice, but I don't give a fuck about Tigra or Ultron or Bendis dragging on his ass to another paycheck. And Moon Knight is a little frustrating, with its bad dialogue and half a plot and Mcfarlane fare art. Guess it's just as well, I'm pretty low on money right now.
Mostly I read stuff from marvel, like Essential X-men, or the amazing spider-man. Right now I'm reading exiles
Apparently Tigra's screwing Hank Pym. That gives me another reason to never care about her.
Promiscuous superheroes aren't cool and Tigra spread eagle doesn't give me a boner, so I do believe Bendis is a fucking loser. At this rate I'll complete this storyline about Ultron and drop it, and maybe NA because I can't stand for Elektra or more ass dragging.
Yeah, now that I know who Ronin is (one of the main reasons I was following), my interest was waned, especially if all there is to look forward to is more shitty Elektra shenanigans.
damn Tony's new Hulkbuster armor looks like crap, well at least the art looks awesome (preview for WWH 1 is out)
and this
^Planetary is great. Hopefully Ellis will finish the final issue soon.
Also thanks to everyone who gave me advice on what to buy.
I got a copy of issue one of Jeff Smith's Shazam: The Monster of Society. I'm guessing it's a reprint since it has a fancy psuedo-paperback cover and it cost 6 dollars.
This week was kinda empty for me. The only "must buy" thing was Cap 26. Brubaker brought back Bucky well, but he still seemed like a shitty character. But I'm gonna find myself rooting for this guy when he takes on Iron man. bHe may be Wolverine Jr, but at least his life makes some sorta sense.
!
Fuck yes. (It's solicited for September)
I also picked up Captain America#26.
Damn, even in death, Cap can't get a break.
edit-
I picked up a copy of the Ultimate X-Men vol. 12 trade for my girlfriend. I skimmed through it and saw Ultimate Juggernaut.
That has got to be the worst looking costume ever. It reminded me of a banana.
Picked up a copy of DC's Countdown 49 (the sequel to 52)
!
! Adam's back.
Mr. Prince, you made my day.
Some more good news for you Carter.
A new Black Adam mini-series that will explain how he got his powers back.
WWH 1 is 64 pages…...woot!
Decided to post this here rather than bump the Marvel Ultimate Alliance thread.

And the Hulk's in there, too
Yeah, a while ago they made a downloadable patch on XBOX Live for the game, but now they made it into an actual new edition. As a Wii-owner, I'm kind of miffed. But I don't feel like playing through the game again anyway, so eh.
Apparently the new "word" to repower black adam is
! sorry
Yeah I can just see it in my mind right now
! Resturaunt owner: Yeah pal you need to pay for that meal
! Teth adam: I am afraid I don't have any money
! Resturaunt owner: If you do not pay you are washing dishes for a year
! Teth adam: You dare speak to black adam like that you'll be sorry…
! KRAKOOOM!
! Resturaunt owner: what the he.... *head is ripped off from his shoulders
! Black adam : Thats it billy thats your word?!? lame
! chucks head away and goes on killing spree
…..ahahahahaha. That's so cheesy. I love it.
hehe Marvel Zombies kicks ass
!
and so soon for WWH1
Marvel Zombies gets its own action figure line? Zoinks!
World War Hulk #1 is awesome. Go get it.
I also picked up Submariner #1. Namor's pretty awesome. I wonder where the story's going, though.
Holy fuck that issue was like Poetry in motion
!
Definatly buying the TPB
Wow, WWH #1 was awesome~
I read a CBR of it. It was alright.
Now Civil War Fallen Son, that's what I'm talking about. One of my faves out there today.
wwH
! Well, it's finally here.
Pros - Hulk actually smashed something. His Warbound aren't completely useless and Sentry will (under all logic) finally fight the Hulk!!!
! Cons - long sigh
! Overall: Check it, wouldn't buy it.
c+D
! Well, after ch199 of x-men I decided to read this in the middle of the comics, rather than last. I expected very very little.. I mean what exactly can you make a story out of after the FREAKING HETACOMB rapes your entire country?
! God freaking damnit I was wrong. Cable/Deadpool is consistently the GREATEST fucking delivering comic EVAAAAAR!!!. This issue.. was hilarious.
! dadadadadada dododododo I'm almost out of bullets dadadadad doodododod… I have never been such a fan of gun wielding heroes up until this point. God Deadpool totally handed Sabretooth his ass.. I LOVE IT!
fallen
! It's always nice to see Petey boy crying and doing stupid things: all in all having his life fall apart. It's the kind of things we as fans can relate to, screwing shit up with our girlfriends, having a family member pass away, starting a fight with someone that had no intention of fighting us etc.
! But honestly, this emo-shit is getting dragging, and I really don't see how it adds anything to fallen son. I really feel they should have just made this series part of the Captain America storyline, because Fallen Son just doesn't make sense in issues where Winter Soldier does not appear.
! Seriously, only issue 1 makes sense to me, issue 3 is kinda ok, but it still is kind of meh because of the whole hawkeye thing being weird (and he's ronin now) and it's just overcomplicated for complcations sake. Honestly, I think i'll finally get closure on Ronin when Wanda returns, and when the New Avengers figure out what really caused "Civil War and all these events happening at once not being a coincidence"
! But until then… blergh.. please focus on Cap if this series is meant to be about him, I love Gwen, I think she should have been his girlfriend over MJ but shit ppl, save that stuff for one of Spideys 6 other titles, don't drag it into Cap's funeral!
! Spidey... you'z an egotistical spotlight hogging whore. You're still my fav, but come on man, even at his funeral? We get it, she died STFU Save it for when you're drunk and playing poker with Logan so he can smack you for bringing her up for the millionth time. You don't see him crying over Jean every time someone dies/he gets drunk. AND BITCH, AT LEAST YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND NOW, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME LOGAN EVEN GOT SOME?
- The art is kinda bleh.. for a huge event like this, wtf is wrong with Marvel to use such crispy-LESS art??? Civil Warl/Ultimates has such crispy art, you open it up and you're like… Borat voice "Niiiiice!"
I haven't read it yet (other than some preview pages), but I have to disagree here. It's John Romita Jr. drawing WWH right? I've always liked John Romita Jr.'s art. It's much more appealing to me than some of the more generic art out there. I'm glad he's drawing such a big event.
