Woah….that's great!
U shall be our new OP reporter in Japan!!!
Hah, that's great news Satsuki. Congratulations!
Ahhhhhh, I can't sit still. I'm not getting any homework done tonight.
I'm hoping that in the 40 students going on the program (I think that's the number) there will be a handful of anime-lovers. I'm assuming there will be some anyway. But I'm the only one from my school that's going who loves anime.
oh, you're going to be staying in Kyoto, I see. lovely prefecture. very historic. my mother's family is originally from there. on my yearly visits i make sure to get a chance to go Sanjusangendo and Nanzenji in the Eastern area. if you're going to be there all year next year, perhaps you'll get a chance to visit the various shrines, temples and pavillions. they're all lovely. Gion is a nice place to visit too. ^^ geisha and kabuki tradition.
Well, congratulations, Satsuki! :D very happy for you.
Agreed, Satsuki. Congratulations. And there's alot of people here on the board who have been to Japan, so please feel free to ask us for advice on things to do and how to live there and everything.
Kyoto's great, but Tokyo's my shizzle. Haha. :D
Oh man, Kyoto is a beautiful city. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time whether or not a bunch of anime lovers go with or not. :D Congrats.
zomg shishio plots again
Congrats. You'll be there for a year, so you'd better enjoy it. :P
Congratulations, that's great! I hope you have a marvellous time. :)

Congratulations! What a great opportunity! :) I'd love to do a study abroad program like that too.
CONGRATULATIONS SATSUKI!
You are hereby under the obligation to hunt every hetfluff doujinshi in existence and share it with the forum, as well as to get yourself a digital camera and look out for stuffs like that Shibuya thing. XD
That is fantastic! Savor the time up until you go because it's a great feeling and I know you won't want to forget it.
Have you been to Kyoto before? If you need any help or suggestions please let me know. It's a pretty cool city and much more similar to a chessboard city structure (like NYC) than say Tokyo so it is fairly easy to navigate but if you wanna know some great stores and restaurants I'd be happy to help. Not to mention the cheapest and best karaoke place
I was there for two weeks last year for a special freshman seminar, but we were pretty busy the whole time studying temples. But I do know a bit about the city. And thanks for the offer.

I'd love to have a digital camera, care to give me the money? But I'll be sure to keep a lookout for yummy VivixKohza doujin, allright?
If I do get one though I'll be sure to take pictures of JumpFesta, which I WILL go to, even if it kills me.
Omg! That's really nice man :D Good luck!
Cool :D Kyoto is a good city, I love it. Have fun there and study lots, okay? How old are you by the way? Going there as HS or College?
I wonder if foreigner would pick up Kyoto accent after studying there for a year. That'd be cool; foreigner speaking in Kyoto accent :D (Sorry for using the word foreigner… Umm... Non-Japanese :P) Kyoto dialect is beautiful as well. Sexy, I say.
京都弁しゃべとう外人ってさっぱりおらへんやんな。

I'll be a junior in college when I go.
Oy vay, that is a problem. We're learning "standard" Japanese, but the family I stay with will most likely have a Kansai/Kyoto-ben, so I dunno. Part of the classes there might be to "stamp out" the dialect part we learn at home.
Tell any One Piece fans you meet how bad the dub is, in fact tell them how there are so many bad dubs. Have fun, I always wanted to go to Japan.
