I just got Pearl for my birthday! and it came with a free starter kit. As soon as I get a FC, I will post it
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl

@Mr.:
And, what types of moves are you guys teaching your Pokemon? I know everyone always says how you should never have four attack moves, but some of the ones I have don't really learn very many good buffs or status inducing techniques (namely Empoleon).
Myself, I condider movesets very context sensitive. They all depend on what my pokemon is going to do for my party. I usually try to have 1 of each of these three-
Sweeper : 4 Attack moves. Its job is to cover as many type differences as possible in its attacks.
Tank : 1 Attack moves, 1 Recovery, and 2 Miscellanious. It's supposed to either eat up time or your opponents HP very slowly.
Status Inflicter: 2 Attack, and 2 with secondary effects (poison, flinch, etc.). This one isn't meant to pack a punch, but it is supposed to cripple your opponents strategy, either now or for another Poke' in your team.

Yesterday was pretty eventfull… As I said before, I caught Dialga and all that, but then I went and caught the legendary trio (one in three turns, one that took all my ultra and great balls, and one that ran, so I just said "Fuck it" and threw my master ball at the sucker). I also beat the eighth gym leader (again, easy because my starter was Grass/Ground, but he was still pitiful) and got Waterfall from Jasmine (the sixth gym leader in Johto, I know there are some fanboys out there that love that fanservice). I guess I'll see how the Victory Roadis and train there until I'm strong enough for the leage (not counting legendaries, my starter is level 41, while my other top Pokes are 38, 39).
And now something else, what is with all the ledendaries in this game? Remember at first, when there were only five (the trio, Mewtwo and Mew)? Then they made six (trio, Ho-oh, Lugia and Celebi), then eight (trio, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Jirachi) and now there are 14. Somehow the number doubled.
Oh, and one more thing, I know the Pokemon games are always inconsistant, but this game is just ridiculous. Remember how Kyogre and groudon fought and created the world? Well, I guess that didn't happen because Dialga and Palkia created Shino by way of big bang.
! There's also the fact that there is a "god" Pokemon, despite Mew being the ancestor of all Pokemon. I guess they just gave the little thing the finger?
I love the game, and it's story, but when put with the other ones, it really makes no sense.
Honestly, I would try not to take the story of a Pokemon game too seriously, but I can see how some of it could make sense. Afterall, there's more Pokemon being discovered, so I don't see how something like
! the existence of a "god" Pokemon, before Mew or whatever is too unfeasible.
Iron Island is an awesome place to level up with Riley there. I have about half of my team to level 40 now.

I'm not bothering with movesets for right now, I'm just bent on completing the E4 (I haven't even gone to Victory Road yet). In fact, for serious battling, I probably won't use any of my current Pokemon (except maybe my starter, but one bred into perfection).
Besides, the Pokemon I'm using don't learn very good moves.
Edit:

Oh, I know Pokemon doesn't have some deep storyline, but it's hard to believe when parts directly contradict others.
-
anyone know where to get the friend codes at?
-
In the Oreburgh Pokemon center, go downstairs and they'll set you up.

Cool! I'll have to do that but I still won't be able to battle anyone for a week or two at least I'm guessing.
-
It isn't restricted to just Oreburgh I don't think, it's just the first place you're able to chronologically
-
Ah gotchya! Well once I get mine I'll post it then. Thanks.
-
I am at Sandgem now and all it says is the underground is not available yet.
-
That's why I said you had to wait until Oreburgh (which is like 1 or 2 towns over)
-
Just got the fourth badge, and did some training. Currently I have:
Luxray lv. 30
Grotle lv. 30
Gastrodon lv. 30
Staravia lv. 30
Kadabra lv. 30
Graveler lv. 30I'm going to find out my friend code now.

Hate to sound nerdy, but you're a bit wrong here. Here's the abbreviated version of Pokemon genesis…
Arceus creates existance, then creates Palkia and Dialga
Palkia creates space, Dialga creates time
Kyogre and Groudon get pissed at each other, fight, and in doing so, shape the world
Mew is the first "mortal" PokemonPretty simple stuff, really.
-
Well thank god that's cleared up
I was having trouble falling asleep
-
It's what I do, citizen.

! It still contradicts… Dialga and Palkia are alter egos of Areseus. The three of them together created the world. But what about Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza? They were supposed to create the earth, sea and air, what "world" was made by the other three?
-
! The D/P legendaries created the world, as in space, time, existing, etc. the R/S/E legendaries created the physical properties in the world, like land, sky, water, etc.
-
Wile I still don't agree, I won't harp on that anymore.
kick Next, how Shinou was created. Apparently Dialga and Palkia created it "an explosion" which I'm guessing is like a big bang. How the hell could this happen, Kyogre and Groudon already made the land and sea, how could a new continent be made? Even if I'm somehow gonna believe "Well, they added to the Earth" how could they do that? Did they just go explode, a giant piece of land falls onto the Earth, Dialga and Palkia call it a day?
I know I'm thinking too much into this, but it's my duty as a Pokemon fan to blow this small plot point way out of proportion!
-
I am at oreburgh gate and so far have
Lvl.5 Bidoof
Lvl.9 Piplup
Lvl.5 Shinx
Lvl.9 Starlyfor some reason there are not much pokemon between the start and Oreburgh
-
If there's anyone who can help blow something out of proportion, it's me! =D
But all I have to add is that I always figured the Sinnoh-ites were referring to their continent before the world. Odd, I know, but this ain't stellar writing here. Best I can explain is the way I already did in that spoiler tag thing. Most of it's explained in the books in the library, anyway (I figured I'd read 'em for shits and giggles).
As it pertains to the game, I got a team now ranging from Level 35 to level 41, and climbing. I am wondering though; where the hell is the Dusk Stone?! I want to evolve my Misdreavous badly, but I can't find a gut-dern Dusk Stone. I checked the underground, but all I got were Water and Moon Stones.

In Veilstone City. Above the Department Store (to the left of the Pokemon Center), there is the Galactic Warehouse. Once you have the key to open the door inside the Dusk Stone is to the left of you.
-
Aw hell, I gotta wait that long?! Poo-poo… :(
-
Err… a team like that and your still not at Veil Stone...? I've all eight badges and my Pokemon barely top 40. But trainers are easy, so apparently, I'm the right level, but man. You're over-level.
-
ok now i finally got the wifi to work
I'm telling you do not ever get the wifi max adaptor!!! thing is a POS
anyways, pm if you wanna trade or battle or whatnot: I'm kinda curious to see how this works
and yea, added everyone here so far!
ciao -
noone is ever in the wifi talking/drawing room at all.
and how do you catch Abra? Every time I attack to lower HP it automatically does teleport!
-
if youre trying to get an abra you bettr have a pkmn on the team that's gonna be quick enough to attack first and and that knows a move to put the opponent to sleep, that way your abra won't leave for a few turns
-
try using gastly's mean look to prevent it from fleeing
hmm…but I think one of abra's ability is to run away no matter what
b/c I've had an abra fleeing from me even though I mean looked itah well
had already traded lvl 15 machop for npc's abra, lvled it once to turn it into kadabra, then traded it to make it into alakazam, merely for the purpose of filling up pokedex -

I just threw a Poke'Ball and caught it immediately.
-
Yeah, I don't have wi-fi so it won't give me my friend code. I'm retarded for not just knowing that I think…
Did 3 Pal Park trades though so that's always good.
-
hey myoga can ya trade with me since ya have Pal Park on? I want a Certain old pokemon if ya have him >>;
-
this is strange..one of the pokeballs in my team keeps moving and the other 4 dont move
MY FC:0516 3787 8085
Name:punkie(made up name)Pokemon Lvls are 4-10 and no badges yet but will battle when I am able to!
-
I must say, Chatot is a tactical genious. I tried to catch one at level 40, and somehow it took out my starter, broke out of about 30 ultra balls and great balls, but was caught by one Pokeball. I captured a wee parrot! I'm the greatest Pokemon trainer in all of history!
-
anyone tried the underground thing yet?
-
My save broke again, so I'm never using GTS again, and I also made myself the Ultimate Pokemon while fixing my save. It's cool! And my wrist is still being injured.
-
Catching Palkia was much easier than I thought it'd be
-
Palkia was cake compared to Mesprit. She flees while sleeping.
-
When can ya catch those Pokemon like Mespirt? I'm on my way to the 7th gym :<
-
After you deal with Palkia/Dialgia
-
great…. and I cant get the 1st badge due to cranidos
-
Hey,
Now that D&P have been released in America, I can finally trade with people on this board.
I have had this game since 2 days before JPN release and know quite a bit about it.
It's too bad that GTS is screwed up now. It used to be good before hacking devices came out (though the new restrictions seemed like they would help….I guess not).
Anyway, did you guys know that you can have different language versions of pokemon on your game? (A Japanese pikachu and an English pikachu are different). I really need to trade to get some of the different language versions of the different pokemon. I'll post my FC up soon so that I can trade here (I don't trust the people at GFAQs anymore, now that there are hacking devices available...) -
Well, anyone who'd trade a Palkia for my Dialga?
-
hmm…does anyone know where I should go after the 4th gym leader?
I finallygot off my ass and challenged him
but now I don't know where to go =\hm...
goes to paint honey on trees and prays for heracross -

goes to paint honey on trees and prays for heracrossi must have been lucky: got a heracross on the first tree I slathered!
-
You can head back to hearthhome and go for badge 5
Just got badge 3 myself. That luciario was a tough sucker.
Oh and did anyone catch drifloon? He only shows up on fridays. I meant to warn you all earlier, but didn't get a chance to get on today.
-
To hell with heracross; I've had like 3 of those.
Munchlax is the worst of all of 'em. It's bad enough that it's so frickin' hard to find, but you only have a 12.5% chance of it being a Female. Good damn thing I found one and saved.
But don't get me started on Feebas. Seriously. I've never hated a fish so much in my life.

hmm, I tried that before
but the gym leader was still missing… -
hmm, I tried that before
but the gym leader was still missing…I'm pretty sure you have to go back to the city with the fourth gym. Near the Safari Zone, there's a Team Galaxy member, talk to him and chase him (he runs to the right). Be warned, as your "rival" comes and battles you.
-
I just beaten the 7th gym -loves his Ambipom and Lucario- and I released those 3 wanna be Jirachi things. now how do I get to the 8th gym? or what I do next?
-
The eighth gym is in Sunnyshore (I think it is) City. All you have to do is talk to the gym leader and then go to the gym and fight him.
