wow i was so on fire that i wrote one hell of a shitty post.
after reading the chapter translated, i worry that griffith will win way too easily. but it'll bring guts back again under the sunlights so it's ok.

Just for fun…
I saw these juxtaposed earlier, and damn, you know?
Vol.1, Vol.27.

Indeed. Whether you are talking about how much Guts has changed, how the art style has evolved, or even just the story, damn indeed sir.
Well all three are aplicable.
But i mostly meant the art.
Though the character development is VERY evident in that as well.
Just caught up with the last 3 chapters. The last one was the best. I am kind of disapointed that this war seems like it is about to end so soon.
Is griffin planning on living forever?
all we know of his plan hasn't change since we were 1st introduced to the character
"I want a kingdom"

Considering he's an immortal demi-god/devil…
I know his a god of some kind but it was never said he was immortal. I assumed he wasnt because he has to be defeated by Gutz at some point or maybe they will make up? lol
I am just wondering the difference between the Gods and the apostles and who chooses who become what? And I know you explained the mundugus thing to me in the past, but im still not sure what exactly he was. Maybe, i need to re-read this manga again.
edit: also this thing looks hopeless unles Gutz and his crew get some major power ups and a few more strong fighthers. I dont see how they can overcome all these apostles and 5 Gods. I guess the skull knight will help when the time comes but geez this seem impossible.
Pleaseee doooon't mentioooon "make up" with "Guts" and "Griffith" in the same sentence DDDD:
Apostles and Godhands are chosen by the Idea of Evil. More stuff here
Heheh the shot of Guts on the beach is my favorite too. Especially to show to ppl who can't get past Berserk's first volume.
Here, a more gradual one:

I mean immortal as in lives forever. Its differet than being invincible. Like the elves in LOTR.
I am just wondering the difference between the Gods and the apostles and who chooses who become what?
The Idea of Evil/Fate chooses who becomes what.
The differences should be pretty obvious.
And I know you explained the mundugus thing to me in the past, but im still not sure what exactly he was. Maybe, i need to re-read this manga again.
Ya mean Mozgus? Apostles can curse/infect/power up others with magic.
Like The Count did with Zondark, The Behelit apostle did that to Mozgus and his followers, and the goat man.

Careful there, the Godhand aren't gods. The Idea of Evil is God in Berserk, if anything.
Skull Knight was human once, think of it this way, Gutts is following the same path as him, he'll get there eventually.
anyone else notice how hes changed more than the rest of the main cast of the manga (well griffith is understandable his 'power' is keep his look the same)
but the other people like Caska at least IMO don't show nearly as much change as is shown in Guts maybe because more is weighing down on him.
ah ah ah props to voltaire on skullknight.net.

ooooo fun
Man, griffin is so going to own him. I thought this war would be longer. :(
That guy who said he is going to kill griffin? Is he an apostle? That dude is like a fortune teller, so why would griffin still have the guy work for him? The guy in the black coat and that weird mask.
Rakshas?
Yhea, he's an Apostle, I don't know why you think he's a fortune teller….cause he's not.
I guess Griffith simply isn't afraid or taking him seriously. The guys powerful and a damned fine adition to the Neo-Hawks, so grif wants him.
Remember he smiled when Rakshas said that..
283 RAW is out.
Not what I expected…
that seemed kinda anticlimatic without the text in there
and fuck the next chapter date says 4,6….................too good to be true it was.
Seems like Griff wants to end it in Windham. Better setting…
Yhea, not anticlimatic, just delayed-climatic.
Clearly Griff wants the end to be as spectacular and show-offy as possible, the capitol being liberated as the final battle works fine.
I'm guessing the Chapter of Falconia is almost over.
If the final battle is delayed, will there be a chance of Guts and co. joining in?
No way.
We wont be seeing them for quite some time, least ways not on the mainland.
yes that was very anticlimatic. not very miura-like. but if it's just to make it better in the end, then ok.
but all in all, no matter how strong the king is, he's still an apostle and griffith is a god hand… so the result should be obvious.
Finally after hearing everywhere how awesome Berserk was I started seriously getting into it, and after a couple of nights of insomnia spend reading it online I have to say it really is a masterpiece.
Close from being my favorite manga ever, even if there's a couple of things that could have been handled better, the artstyle, atmosphere and main characters are among the best things I've ever seen from any manga I've read. Eagerly waiting for new chapters now, and I'm gonna buy french volumes soon to support Miura's job.
berserk is the shit. it was my favorite a couple of years before i even knew what one piece was.
one piece, and then berserk, sit at the top of the manga world for me. everything else pales in comparison. you just seriously can't get any better.
and I'm gonna buy french volumes soon to support Miura's job.
good idea, especially considering the quality of the translation. that's miles away from the crap they did with one piece and so much other manga (prince of tennis is nearly unreadable in french…)
I just got the english volume 14 and 15.
Man, was the Berserk prototype weird. Gutts had the goofiest face.
And of course the Misty Valley arc is alot more enjoyable with smooth translations.

I would have thought you'd be one of the people here to have already read Berserk like a while ago.
For some reason I wasn't interested in it for a while, I bought and read most of my manga collection during my teen years and it was probably a little too stern for my tastes then. Nowadays I only keep up with OP and Bastard!!.
revives go berserk for being the best manga in teh world.
Ok I heard a rumor that the author doesnt really take breaks in his manga. It is just that he has no assistants and does every drawing by himself. He spends days working on details on his manga and barely leaves his house.
If this is true, this makes this manga even more special but this guy should hire at least an assitant or two. He needs a life.
284 preview
He looks like Caska right there. That is weird. I guess he really is sort of like Guts and Caska child.
He looks no different than usual. It's just Miura's artstyle that improved since the days of the original Band of the Hawks.
I don't know if that rumor about Miura working alone is true but if it is my respect for him grew tenfold. To maintain such a ridiculously high level of quality without any assistant, when you see what a guy like Togashi does in the same situation…
From the interviews I read it seems Miura doesn't have much of a life outside his work but still. Amazing.
hum, about the "miura has no assistant" stuff. i say it's wrong. if so, then what is this "studio whatever" which gets credit with him at new chapters? the software he uses to improve his work? i don't think so…

I dont know, ever since he got "reborn". He looks like Caska and Guts mixed. I think he used the "body" of there baby that use to follow Guts around and that was deformed.
Yeah, it's obvious he used Casca and Guts' child as a vessel to be reborn in the material world, but I highly doubt it had any effects on his physique in his "Griffith form", especially with that moonlight child stuff.
yeah he looks just like he did during Golden Age + Miura's improved artstyle
Raw is out.
Grif gets confronted by the surviving Midland noblesm than Charlotte comes up, and.. well theres assloads of dialouge.
anyone have any clue what this says?
and
The King is dead, Long Live the King.
How about them older versions of the characters?
Well, SOMETHING is coming out May 10. What it is, I, uh, don't know enough kanji to tell you. :)
I think they're making Berserk equivalents of the One Piece Logs.
Cheapo deluxe volumes with more chapters per.
ok, so they are re-airing the anime… can we expect it to be the foreshadowing of a new season? maybe i'm just dreaming but hell, why not?
Lets cross our fingers and keep the faith!
Oh my sweet lord in heaven, is it really possible that they could FINALLY after five years of waiting, make a 2nd season?!
Well, if so, Here's to hopin! prays
Man oh man, I'm pretty pumped about this, I really do hope that they make another season. I mean they have enough volumes for like 50+ eps.
and let me just tell you, I can't WAIT to see all the supporting characters come into play, FINALLY.
Man! * rosses fingers*
it'd have to be more than a second season because of the characters they left out of the 1st one.
They would have to come up with something that fits the manga and the anime, cause the anime never had the skeleton guy i think.
I never watched the anime properly, I just took a look at a few parts to see if it was worth it. I watched the introduction of Zodd and was not very happy…. the voice acting was so bad, so I never bothered watching.
If they can bring out the second season like the manga I'll watch it, I liked the Misty Valley arc, its in there that Gutts showed he had a much better, stronger, faster fighting style than the crap first 3 volumes were he was getting beaten up all the time.
That bastard Griffith's engaged… Nothing to stop him now.
'Cept Guts.
