XD I really like Buggy. 'Cause he's funny as hell and he just doesn't learn. He's a selfish obstinate prick and that's what makes him funny because he's an idiot at the same time. :silly:
Best One Piece Villain?
-
-
My favorite villain is easily Enel, because he's borderline insane, I like his character design, and he has the ability of lightning my personal favorite ability/power.
-
I'll only go as far as to say Enel had my 2nd favorite laugh, next to Foxy.
-
I'd say my favorite is Crocodile, He was evil, inteligent, and had awesome powers(I love sand powers), Plus I liked his look
And in second I'm tied between Lucci and Kaku
-
i'm going to go with Crocodile, even tho Enel is crazy too.
-
I love Buggy as a character but I don't really portray him as a villain anymore. Arlong was cool and I really liked the fact that he was an evil bastard towards human but genuinely cared about his crew. I'm sick of those villains who kill their companions without a valid reason. Just because it makes them look more evil.
Croc is also one of my favorites… Most of the reasons have already been said.
But I think my favorite villain is still Rob Lucci/CP9.Unlike some people, I don't compare Lucci to other animanga villains. I only compare him to OP villains and when I look at him like that, I really see how different he's from all the other major OP villains. He doesn't have that sterotypic distant laugh and he kept his dignity to the end unlike the others. I also really respect the fact that he doesn't totally rely on his DF powers. He really is a combat master without always having to use DF tricks, thanks to hard training and Rokushiki. Crocodile and Enel would be nothing without their powers. They are strong yes, but the fact is that they almost always rely on their logia-powers unlike Lucci who usually transforms only when he really needs to.
And Lucci's DF power is also one thing I like. I don't give a damn how many people say zoan powers are "gay". I like Lucci's power espesially because it's something different. I have noticed this pattern that all major villains always tend to have a logia-fruit. Logias are cool but I really wanted something different and Lucci offered it.
Because of these traits, I really started to like him. Then there's of course these other reasons like his elegance and looks, Hattori (love that pigeon...very original idea) and his overall way of acting. I like it that he's very silent guy who isn't boasting all the time or just being an ass towards his co-workers.I also really really like the other guys of CP9 and this villain group in overall. They are cool and mysterious and they also offer enough variability: There are calm, collected guys but also weirdos and a very clumsy chief. Only Califa was pretty dull to me because her only purpose seemed to be fanservice.
The arcs with CP9 were very emotional and convincing, they managed to create this real sense of threat. CP9 had... and still has a great effect on me.
-
I ended up pleasantly surprised by CP9. Start with people all wearing the same outfit and knowing the same martial art, and you can go surprisingly far!
-
He may not've relied on his DF powers, but didn't he, and the rest of the CP9, totally rely on their Rokushiki (or whatever it's called) techniques?
-
^
Yes, but to master Rokushiki it requires hard training. It's not just a given ability like Devil Fruit.
-
Thrior, I agree with your post. Water 7, Puffing Tom, and Enies Lobby arcs were very well told, and I agree that Lucchi is different from the other major villians, He, is also one of my favorite characters, due to the 'being different' etc. I also agree with the fact that Rokushiki = Hard work. Devil's fruits are a little different. Zoan Types do NOT give you techniques (for the most part). They give you physical strength, That in itself is new, different, and cool :).
My top 3 villains…
1. Director Spandam
2. Sir Crocodile
3. Rob LucchiUhh. 4th would have to go to Kumadori! The Ultimate YoYoi Master!
=D
-
I totally agree with you Thrior, Although Crocodile might still be my personal favorite, All those reasons are why I really love Lucci, And I also disagree with people who say Zoan powers are gay, I love Zoan powers, especially Lucci's
-
Since it's the anime board, I'll have to say Crocodile. :| Anyone post-Skypiea can't even be considered an option. Thank you Toei.
-
I agree fully. WHile Oda still made some pretty cool villians (Enel, Lucci for Ex) I don't see how he can top Croc. Croc was just the total package in every way. I hate cosplay with every fiber of my being, but I seriously considered cosplaying as Croc (without the hook and acscot/shirt tho).
From now on, it's one of my personal goals in life to get a fur coat like Crocodile's.
Thats what I wanna do someday too lol
And I also almost considered the cosplay idea as well -
While he is not my fav, Enel is one of only two anime/manga villians who I wanted to reach out of my computer screen and beat the ever-loving shit out of them.
-
Alright, I have a lot of favourite villains, so I'll split them up into categories-
Super Villain- This one is so ridiculously close. I would have to say that both Lucci and Crocodile are in first place, and Enel is extremely close to being first too. I like all these villains because they're obviously very adept at what they do, and the fact that they got so close to their objectives is amazing. :P However, I'd have to say Crocodile had the best plan in mind. Baroque Works was an amazing idea. BTW, the fact that both Crocodile and Lucci wear coats which just seem to hang off of them doesn't hurt.
Main Villain- I'd say the only one in this category is Kuro, or maybe even Wapol. I found the fact that he didn't want to be a pirate and how he found them below him rather interesting. Plus, he had excellent fighting skills and didn't rely on a DF but was simply that fast. :P Wapol is probably a favourite of mine since he's just so hilarious. Gotta love those dictators.
Minor Villain- I never cared much for minor villains. I'm not really sure how to distinguish them from major villains sometimes. My fave is probably Mr. 3, but I have no idea if he is a minor or major villain. In any case, I'll put him here simply to put something in this category. Mr. 3 is a favourite of mine simply because he was a genius with plans and he was rather menacing too, in a very non agressive sorta way.
There you go. :P As you can tell, I'm more into the cunning villains. Villains who rely simply on force are rather bland to me.
P.S.- Yay, my first post! :)
-
Sir Crocodile.
Because he actually won against Luffy (with the score 2-1 in their set of 3 matches)
Plus, he would have won the final fight too except he decided to fight Luffy as a pirate: If he had used his powers to their full extent like he did in their previous battles, Luffy would have been defeated again.
-

What do you mean?? Pirates don't have a set was of fighting. He fought Luffy the same, except he used his poison hook also. So if anythink it was harder.
-
well, even though Luffy was able to harm Crocodile, that wouldn't stop Crocodile from turning into sand. Yet he makes no attempt to use his DF powers except towards the end of the fight.
True, the poison hook was devious, I just think he could have saved it for when it was needed and not charge towards luffy like a bull.
-
Break it down!
Eneru was the best thing (perhaps the only good thing) about Skypiea. He was unbelievable–a god-like superbeing with only one weakness.
But, he comes second to Rob Lucci, the only villain who didn't underestimate and do stupid things like allowing his enemies to survive so he could keep fighting them.
Eneru vs. Luffy was unfair from the start. Crocodile was a villain's villain, but to me it seemed as if he didn't really have any motivation other than hating everybody and wanting to rule the world. Rob Lucci is the strongest villain so far, and he gave Luffy a brutal fight to the finish. No special weaknesses, no "holes" in his strategy, just a full-on contest of strength. Luffy was slightly stronger. End of story. -
@Lobster:

Srednar's referring to what Crocodile said (that he'd fight Luffy "as a pirate") and chose not to use his powers in that fight.
-
I also think that in regards of best all-time villain Crocodile would come 2nd, after Mister Teatime from Terry Pratchett's Hogfather.
IMO.
-
Srednar's referring to what Crocodile said (that he'd fight Luffy "as a pirate") and chose not to use his powers in that fight.
Lol, but no… He did use his powers. And so did Luffy. The only reason he didn't turn inro sand was because Luffy had blood on his fists. Crocodile himself was covered in blood too.
-
Crocodile 4 sure he was such a crazy sob
-

Hmm… Luffy having blood on his fists shouldn't stop Crocodile from turning into sand, it only allows Luffy to harm him while in his "human" form. And as for Croc being covered in blood, how does that explaing him using some sandmoves, at the very end?
-
Weither there is liquid or not on Crocodile, the one thing it effects is other people's chances of harming him. He can still do any tricks he wants.
My favourite bad guy? Well, the avatar gives it away. I just wished Bellamy wasn't floored so easily. On a sidenote I'm warming up to Kaku as I watch Enies Lobby. -

A.) He only used his powers at the very end, when he became crazed and desperate.
B.) Crocodile's own blood does nothing to inhibit his powers. This should be obvious to anyone who saw the fights with him at all. Or did you forget how he had trickles of blood in round two, and still managed to turn into sand?
C.) As was said before, Luffy's blood didn't stop Croc's ability to turn into sand, it just let him touch Croc's human form.
Pay attention, man! There'll be a test on this, maybe!

Crocodile didn't fight… he just got beeten down by Luffy mostly.
If this is true, then I now have zero respect for Luffy. Luffy used his devil powers all through the battle. So that I consider cheating.
-
What else would Luffy fight with?
-
What else would Luffy fight with?
Just his fists… No streaching
Luffy is a cheat, and now the entire Arabasta final fight is ruined for me.
In addition, Croco D. Ile even won 2/3 times. So why was Luffy declaired winner??
-
I think because Crocodile was pushed a mile or so into the air before getting his ribs crushed?
-
I think because Crocodile was pushed a mile or so into the air before getting his ribs crushed?
Luffy's defeats were spectacular too… Going a mile under ground. And having the water sucked out, then being dropped into a "sand pallace". Anyway, I now have lost all respect for Luffy. He used his powers when Crocodile didn't. He's a cheat. So Crocodile still was stronger then Luffy after Arabasta. I bet Luffy only became stronger then Crocodile, in Enis Lobby. When he got gear 2.
-
Well, for one thing, Crocodile did fight. Hence why Luffy would've died from the scorpion venom from Croc's hook.
As for Luffy cheating, think about it this way; one of the biggest themes in the series is that Luffy seems destined to become Pirate King, and that circumstances keep seeing him through. Crocodile just cemented this. Not only that, the guy was a Shichibukai; he was in the same group as Mihawk. He had to have the kind of power that made him seem that dangerous, as well as able to appear powerful even compared to characters that come in arcs afterward. Beating him was the equivalent of beating an RPG uberboss you're tens of levels below being strong enough for, losing multiple times, and lucking out in one try when the uberboss doesn't use the moves in his repitiore that can destroy you, and by a stroke of luck and perserverance, you beat it.
As for being stronger now, physically, he probably is. But, without a way to get Croc wet, he'd still be a threat (hey, I rhymed)! It worked for the story, too, since it mad eCroc's status as a Shichibukai more than just an Alabasta plot point. Crocodile's power made it believable. Plus, if/when he comes back, you know the sandman's gonna be beefed up.
-
Sham Nyaban!!! lol, he's the first japanese cat-MAN I've ever encountered!
…stupid reason, but a reason. :P
-
Arlong + Crocodile
^^ -
You don't get any more badass than Arlong.
He wasn't willing to kill thousands of people on a whim like Crocodile. Arlong wanted to slowly torture them to death instead.
Sadistic, racist shark > Crocodile
-
My favourite villain is Enel. I love Skypeia and up until now Enel has been the only villain who has made me go: "Daaaaaamn!" with both powers and appearance. He blasted lightnings with millions of volts(not sure if voltti = volt or miljoona = million or billion) and created Deathpeia. At some point I was serious about cosplaying him for Finlands Animecon 2007, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to gather enough money to actually perform it. Besides, how does one make that drum-thingy Enel has sticking out from his back and keep it stable?! :wassat: Oh well, at least I will cosplay Rob Lucchi for Tracon 2007. The only problem is to find a decent-looking pigeon.
-
I always thought a good way to do Enel's back-ring was with a hula-hoop, and maybe do the drums as inexpensive throw-away food containers (ideally, the kind that pudding comes in, so you have an excuse to eat several packets of pudding)
-

Arlong didn't want to slowly torture anyone to death, he was just an oppressive ruler who took advantage of the people of Cocoyashi village so he and his pals could live the good life.
-
Enel was my favorite villian, of all the fighters he seemed to be the smartest (except at the very end). He did all that shit that I would probably do if I had his powers. I mean shit dude, using the electricity to heat up his trident, that is smart, its not like stereotypical movies, or somthing like in a car chase with guns, where the people never think to shoot out the tires. Ya that didnt make much sense but hopefully you get my gist. btw Crocodile laughs like a suffocating ass.
-

And that's smart. Blood tastes good for a day, but an oppressed slave is for a lifetime.

I know that everryone says this…but defintly crocidile....But i would have done things differently then he did. for 1)
.....make sure when you kill somebody kill them!!!!
-
i would have made his organization more complicated made it harder for anyone to really figure it out.
-
i wouldn't talk so much, and would have mocked vivi's insolence more. Then let her watch her namaka drown in water... and not surround them with crocdiles....drowining them...is just fine to me!!!
-
I would have killed luffy the moment he entered arabusta!!!! Espically if he was with vivi
-

mr.0 (hands down)
i just noticed when i started reading the manga nami's breast wasnt that large …
did she ate a devils fruit or something?
The breast breast fruit maybe?
Best villain is Croc but my favourite is…..erm Captain Kuro
-
Wow best villain..my list is like this
1.Enell..the dudes crazy cool, to bad that luffy whas a rubber man..enell would kick crocs ass ( in my dreams)
2.Gaspard (he is soooo evil it hurts)
3.sir croc (hes such a bad ass maffia looking s.o.b)
4.arlong (reminds me of some low rank yakuza)
5.Buggy..i see god things coming
-
This should have been a poll.
I like Arlong because he evoked the most emotion with his mistreatment of Nami. But I also like Croc because his plan almost succeeded and he gave Luffy the worst beating of the entire series. He actually beat Luffy without breaking a sweat on several occassions. -
I think Arlong definentally wins for best villian. You just can't deny how evil he was. Second would either be Kuro or Eneru, simply because they were both so selfish.
-
is between croc and lucci.those 2 have tooken luffy to the max
-
I personally think Eneru was the best villain. I really don't know why, he just was. I liked almost everything about him.
The second woud probably be Crocodile.
-
I would have to say Buggy. You know he's going to get an upgrade or a new skill with his power.
-
^hmm i dont know. i dont really see buggy comin back much stronger than before.(not sayin that he wont, just that I dont think so).if he does, i see him comin with his own upgrade(like the gears).
