Personally, I think this is going to blow up in our faces and destroy the ghost busters licence for decades to come, but that's just my opinion. I tend to be pessimistic when it comes to new sequel of classic movies, espcially when they change the style, since it means they didn't have any ideas good enough to stand alone. :/
Ghostbusters III is coming!

Popular or not, their only audience is kids around the age of 5, who don't know any better than to beg their moms to buy something because they saw a dragon breatihng fir eon a commercial, and the wrappers are shiny.
I'm not saying card games are pointless, I'm just saying that not matter what the ponit if it implies true popularity, then it's wrong, because even if thats advertising tactics, once a kids grows up a few years theyr ealize it's pointless and wodners why they played pokemon when they missed so much better stuff.
Obviously it's popularity has dropped off alot. 4Kids was shoving it down people's throats.

If you watched the original TMNT cartoon…..and you liked it......then you were exactly the same damn thing.
If you watched the Real Ghostbusters cartoon…..and you liked it for anything more than the designs and ghost concepts.....then you were exactly the same damn thing.
They're children's cartoons that were wildly insanely popular. It doesn't mean poo who judged the popularity.
If you have kids someday you'll be buying 'useless pieces of plastic' for shit you can't possibly comprehend but means the world to them. That's all that matters if they/me/you/we enjoy(ed) it at some point in some form.

oh wow jokido! You and I are both Roosters! ^_^
Greg, Don't get me wrong. I loved ghost busters when I was a wee tot. It was a great show. I do think TMNT was the better show back then. I don't remember pretending to be a ghost buster, but I sure do remember pretending to be a ninja turtle.
Know what; I should go see if there are any ghost buster episodes on youtube. The only episode I remember is the one with the boogie man. boy was he ugly.

I'd love this to be awesome, really would love it but i can just see this bombing so quick.

Aha! Now which one was 'better' is totally up for discussion. But to deny the merchandise giant that was Ghostbusters in the 1980's getting itself into all kinds of media and basically laying the groundwork for TMNT's marketting scheme, that's another story.
After watching old episodes of both series I personally liked GB better only because the villains were vicious dead things.
Looking back to Turtles, I mean, the coolest thing about Shredder is his part in the intro. Shredder is actually a failure of a villain and constantly the butt of jokes no better than his incompetent henchmen. They did a great job with him in the film though!

nearly(but not quite) 50% of tose stinky shows started out not so lame.
Power Rangers anyone? After a little bit(I don't remember how long) it turned into a stinky pile of poo, which continues to this day to grasp for life. Magic WHAT? WTF are some people thinking.
I dunno whats up with pokemon and those other card game anime, but no matter what they suck, and I know some people who were into it for no good reason. It was rediculous how many plushies people will buy because they have 20 of it's cards. It's rediculous. What possessed these kids(and some older people too) to buy this piece of junk? It just ain't worth it. In the end, 20 years from when the series dies out almsot completely, and everyone forgets about it, the rarest cards might be worth something, but most will just be junk, heck I wouldn't be surprised if they made another ET Video Game land-fill just for pokemon cards.
A card game for something popular? Ok cool. A show BASED on a card game? NO WAAAAAY!!!
Look my point is that when it comes down to it, everyone knows it sucks, once they hook the kids they just figured "Well I could have a full collection, and isntead of doing sometihng cool I'll try to impress people with more cards" or something, anyways it sucks.
TMNT isn't a bad series, but recently it's turned into trash. I remember someone posting a new 4Kids version and the art style looked weird. I don't watch the show, but I've seen episodes, pretty cool, I've seen the movies, those were pretty nice. It's amazing what any company can do to stuff like that.
Anyways my biggest concern is the consitancy, I'm hoping the CGI is less TOy Story like and more realistic, like more realistic than Star Wars CGI. In fact I hope most of the characters are done using that motion capture technology Hollywood brags about but hasn't used much, that way they can act it out and then has a realistic version presented.

ya, I think if I went back and compared GB to TMNT, I'd go for GB as well. I seen an episode of the old TMNT cartoon a while ago. It just wasn't happening. XD Funny how your tastes change when you grow up. lol Still, at the time, TMNT was better. ^_^ relises she is now arguing an opinion, but still feels compelled to state her opinion

@The:
Two words - ECTO. COOLER.
Ecto-Cooler was by far the best juice box ever. If GB3 revives Ecto-Cooler, that alone will make this movie worth it.

nearly(but not quite) 50% of tose stinky shows started out not so lame.
long rant follows
So, basically anything that is hugely popular at one time or another…sucks.
Personally, I think people are too reliant on each other as far as what they think is cool and what sucks.
You used Pokemon as an example, as will I. Back in 1999-2000 when the franchise was at its peak, all the kids and early teens loved Pokemon. But by 2001, over half the kids who onced loved Pokemon, now said it sucked. They never liked it, nor did they ever simply think it was just okay. It went straight from love to hate. When asked, "Do you like Pokemon?" rather than answering something similar to "I used to, but not so much anymore." kids responded "NO! Pokemon sucks!! Anyone who loves Pokemon is stupid and retarded!" . Because of this, nearly all the remaining Pokeman fans began thinking the same, simply out of fear of being shunned by their friends.
I never did such a thing. I continued to love Pokemon. And, I lost all of my elementary school friends because of it. Now here I am, in the year 2007, still loving Pokemon more than ever. (All 493 of them!) As I type this, I am surrounded by over 8,500 Pokemon collectables that my girlfriend and I have assembled over the past 10 years. Our collections began separately, but now they grow as one. It was Pokemon that brought my girlfriend and I together, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Now GearSecond, I ask you this question. Am I weird for still loving a fad that has long passed?

On subject now, I've never really been into Ghost Busters all that much, I was a TMNT kid.
Just for laughs, I saw a fan-made bootleg DVD at FX Show entitled Freddy VS Ghost Busters.

I've worked with those guys before on a GB fan-cartoon I used to be apart of. Very cool people and their work is great. The new GB film they're making looks amazing.

GB3? Im all for it. As long as Bill andRick are in it Im fine.
The Real Ghostbusters had the best Voice cast ever. They had Welker doing his Jetsons voice for Slimer and Fred voice for Ray, The Guy who was Garfield playing Venkman, and LaMarche using his Quimby voice for Egon. Excellent shit right there.
