Well, there's a lot of them. They each do diffrent stuff. Some, I think, are actually very creative and cool, but others I kind of made up because I think I was very bored. Plus, part of the whole "powers" thing is that there are two kind of catagories for them. One group, the bigger one, is that you just have, well, powers. The other one is that you materilize a weapon from your soul that does something special. But they don't have to be weapons; some are a die, a pen, a guitar.

Oh, I see. Sol is energy. Elementalists use Sol to use magic, their powers. there a total of four races in my manga, including Nifllians and Humans. I try real hard to show that humans without magic can do just as well as the other races and Elementalists, who all have special powers.
Nobody is really opposed, thay just sort of… exist. Yeah.
Oh, never mind then. I thought Sol was a faction, like the Elementalists. Anyway, now that I've figured out how I'm going to end Jagged, I began to think about another manga that would be better than Jagged because it would incorporate things from Jagged, but also have the things I missed in it. I think it's going to be about angels, somehow.

The Sols idea is cool, kinda of the past-thinking like with the stuff about how babies and old skin reacts to it. Who knows, you might find some cave drawing about it ^^
The only thing I didn't understand was why some babies get to be Elementalists and why some didn't. That's so unfair if it's just luck!

It pretty much is luck. No need to worry though, humans are a crafty race, the ones who can't use magic have found ways to survive where the other three races all have unique powers!
I've gone on a bit about races, but not really produced any specific details about them. Huh… Maybe I should start now? Yeah, one of the first villains is one, so I guess it wouldn't hurt. He's pretty much throwaway, no real details about him are needed

Pretty much the abilities of his race is to take in solar energy into one or both of their eyes and convert it into energy, then release it as an offensive attack or so. Balore's power is that he can pretty much shoot a giant beam that really cannot be defined as an element. He wears an eyepatch over his right eye so that he can control when he wants to use this power. He's a pirate BTW. Just an interesting tidbit about him. He genuinely cares about people, like his crew, so it's a little sad to see him go. When you first meet him, he's really a good person, and never really shows evil intentions.
BTW, He is NOT modeled after Cyclops from X-Men, or any other cyclops in history. I modeled him after an Irish mythology figure, "Balor" a God whose eye unleashed destruction when it was he opened it. I sort of went with it from there. His race lives underground for the most part, so they can't accidentally absorb the sun. Also, Balore is a boss from a handful of Castlevania games. I LOVE Castlevania.

I made my main character, Finn, a total nobody. No special powers, no exotic heritage, no bloody past…. just a farmboy who happens to be pretty decent with a sword and a knack finding himself right where he's needed.
 
zomg cliche, a boy with a betraying father, who is born with a great control over the planet, and is taken in by the country the father sided with. Now he must use that power to get revenge on not just his father, but the entire world… dun dun dunnnnn

I have a idea for somekind of manga/comic actually… It would be some kind of shonen but in the manga no humans excists, and no technology only nature and animals, and the story wil be about an animal who travels and meet different kinds of animals and different kind of places, and I would put some mythological references. But im not that good at drawing so I wont even try to make scetches of it, I just like the story... :P

Yeah something like that, you know with beautiful surroundings, and the jounrey will encounter different animals with different problems… I havnt given it too much thoughts though, I don't even know which animal should be the starring character... It should be mammal and one that can live in differents climates. One of the problem the main character will encounter that I kinda like is a war between a tiger and a bear, and a lot of other animals.
It was actually okami that insperied me to this, becase of its beautiful art and and the animals in it...
I see, I like that style too. Kinda addicted to those actually. That type's action is different and awesome no one should miss too.
I suggest you to have both normal and invented animals.. I mean, with reasoning and it being very logical, and still have it's calm atmosphere. Stuff you invented apprearing normally, like it was always there even in our world, and we see different details come all the time.
Princess Mononoke had some stuff that resemble to it, only with more action and faster story.

1. He's a pirate because he's poor. that's really the reason most people back in the day were pirates. He saves Seth and another main character (Whom I haven't revealed anything about yet) after their ship capsizes during a storm. Since there's very little advanced technology in this world (except for advanced transfusion techniques, cloning technology, and modern handguns and missle tubes :P), like no cars or planes, they have to get around via boat.
2. Sorry, it's an interesting name, and it woud actually make sense, but the name… does sound cheesy. It is probably one of the funniest words I've ever heard though. Thanks for the laugh and for showing so much interest!

Skin… Tyki... Road... Ah, sorry, just comparing. As long as a stereotypical person brings at least one new thing to the table and their appearance is unique, I don't mind much.
One of the few characters who I modeled directly after somebody was one of the main villains, Razel, whom I modeled after Kefka from Final Fantasy 6. (3 in the states, now officially 6) I LOVED Kefka because of how silly and insane he is. You can also make draws to other weird villains with him. I'm a big fan of odd villains, like Dist from Tales of the Abyss, and the Millennium Earl from D. Gray-Man.

VERY original, I think that instead of somebody gaining these amazing powers can be, IMO, cliche. Somebody who only uses what they had from the start who gets thrown into something amazing and incomprehensibly over their head is a kind of story that draws me in.
Well, he did basically just get the amazing powers. Just immideatly. He had to train and stuff, but he just got them "out of the blue" I guess. And like I said with the "other villians have personality problems" thing, here's what I mean.
One is like actually psycho, one has multiple personality disorder, one has OCD and counts the number of words in his sentences, one speaks only in Iambic Pentamiter, and so on so forth. And those are actual main villians.

I did. The multiple personality thing is actually totally nessasary. See, if you make a weapon with your powers, the weapon is based on who you are. So with him, his weapon changes back and forth. To make it even better, each personality is a diffrent genre of music, making the weapon a guitar, a bass violin, and a regular viola.
I was thinking of scrapping my entire manga. Ive been reading Konjiki no Gash Bell lately, and that manga feels so damn epic. It might actually be my favorite manga, story wise.
I think it's the way the mangaka executed the way the characters attacks/powers. I can't imagine being as creative as Gash Bell or One Piece. I've been developing new powers, that I might plug into my characters, but overall I'm not liking how my story's coming out.
I'm thinking of something like Blue Dragon Ral Grado, but not all perverted, and with wackier character designs. And a simpler plot, because my old manga's plot became very complex, and incoherent. Definately something more "average boy thrown into complex, and dangerous situation" type thing then "boy given power, thrown into complex and dangerous situation"
but damn, trying to make something as good as One Piece, hell even Naruto, is hard, especially when you want to make something you will love.
Thinking out your plot in advance works wonders. My comic's plot has been in the works for years, and has changed so much, it's not even funny. All for the better, though. Hell, Doren started out looking like a manlier Alucard (the Castlevania one) with a face injury in the beginning. So much has changed and improved over time, and now I feel confident in the way I've mapped out the story and characters.

Ive had general plans of how to do the story, but it just doesn't come together right.
I think I might start with something more generic, before going into a complex, tragic, epic war story.

highly Gash inspired, but I think its unique. For the "main fighters" powers, completly generic Fire manipulation. But… add a few twists, which I have in mind as we speak, I think the result could be pretty intresting.
Hell, what became my story..started when I was 12 as nothing more than (and I'll be honest) a junevile power fantasy where I was the anti-hero beating on the mean kids at school.
I'm 18 now and that "same" story is a 4 act epic on the nature of life covering dozens of themes and using symbolism in structure and imagery. And I'm in college for a Sequential Arts major.
Thats what 6 years can do for you. Especially the most mentally dynamic 6 years of life.
Ya gotta let this shit grow,and NEVER hesitate to throw something out if you know it should go, don't be afraid of trashing characters and storylines you've had forever, and if you have the time don't be afraid of simply letting weak or undeveloped areas sit still. Good ideas come along eventually. Writers block is best remedied by detachment they say.

QFT. You know, that's the hardest thing I think, in art, is to throw out something you really really liked for the good of the whole.
 
Alot of times, I think up ideas in my head. It's not autism or anything, but my mind often thinks up the most random shit ever.
I imagined Water 7 going differently. I imagined T-Bone being alot stronger than he was, and he beat Zoro. So he busted up the train. Usopp stood up to him, but before he could use Impact Dial, T-Bone hit him with an attack called "Break Point", and attack that would look like a rounded up punch. Usopp would be blasted out the train and into the sea.
Then, I suppose T-Bone would hit the train and it would catapult into the air somehow. Although in mid-air, Zoro would push him back onto the back of the train, and then they blew into hyper burst turbo or some shit, incenerating him instantly with the fiery blast out the back of the train.
Some stuff happens. As it turns out, Aqua Laguna would be in 4 segments, each larger than the last.
Uhhmm… hmm... Usopp comes back and actually uses Impact Dial on Aqua Laguna and fucks up his arm big-time.
Damn, I can't really remember, but I recall Gan Fall, in an attempt to stop the 4th Aqua Laguna from hitting Water 7 (Those waves are freaking HUGE by the way, and about to completely crush W7 from all sides), straps a shit load of Impact Dials all over his body, flies upwards, and blows himself to bits, although stopping Aqua Laguna.
Anyway, it was random shit like that, but it was pretty cool, in my opinion.
I have alot of good ideas in mind (That I won't spoil here), and I certainly have the artistic skill. I'm just not sure I have the attention span.
Yeah, when I just read about Water 7 and didn't actually see it yet, I thought of it as like big broken chunks of wood floating in water, and that was the island.

1. Ah.. A good reason, pretty realistic I guess. Put a little homeless touch on him and make people cry. The only thing that's a little disturbing is that he saved them from the storm.. Can he control a ship this good? Won't this be a plot hole or something?
2. Yeah, I though like that. I guess it does sound funny romanized, although it's no better than Kolnoah [modern theater movies =)].
Hope you find a good name soon. If you can't think of something, there are always other languages romanized~

If you still have a grip of your story, what everyone said here I guess is the right choice. If you wanna start over, take every single manga you like and make a kaboom, fusion with your story and repair with your touch.
Start reading recommended manga too, that's a must to understand better how stuff work.

He doesn't actually control the ship during a storm, it more of a cliched "ZOMG! I saved you 3 days ago, and you only just gained consciousness!" kind of thing >_<

Ah, the last second cliché where you wake up. What a classic. The biggest chilcé mine has, besides that I base charecters of some other charecter designs somewhat, is that some of the other heroes, who never train and start off ass-weak, get amazingly strong when it boils down to it.

Angus N. Cheese, unfortunately named goblin mage/scientist. Highly intelligent, and fairly bookish (but by no means shy).

Angus feels that death is a natural process, so he's not too worried about it.

He's a strict aethiest.

Angus isn't an ass, but he does carry an "I'm superior" attitude occasionally.

His jokes are usually too outdated or highbrow to be funny. His reactions to the people around him can be funny though, even if he hates it when anyone laughs at him for them.
