Holy shit Kanchome's gone? ;_;

@Cap'n:
Man, it makes perfect sense storywise for Kanchome to go (since he became too powerful for the story to handle), but… this still sucks.
As for Papipurio, I was really hoping he'd get a much less half-assed send-off. I didn't even know he was gone until the last panel with Rooper.
I did really like the scenes with Goomu, and the last page.
Yeah. I was hoping for Tia to go..
Anyways, I hope Umagon becomes the King. What's better than a politician that the people can't even understand? I mean, it's so fricking realistic!

Are you comparing Umagon to a certain president?
-
man…im really tempted to read those chaps...even when im at the beginning of Faudo arc, vol 18...
-
It's definately sad to see Kanchome go. Though to be honest while I'm not surprised that Burago is still around considering he's considered the best candidate to become king. I'm just surprised Raiku didn't send him back after the Millenium arc. I mean didn't all of Burago and Sherry's development and drive for fighting end once Koko was saved?
Sure we can say the same for Gash after he beat Zeon but heck Gash is the main character and has a noticeable goal to achieve by becoming king. Not to mention the heritage thing so there's still a bit of room for Gash to grow. Besides you have to admit that Burago's gotten a lot less screen time during the Faudo arc and has gotten noticeably a bit more since he's one of only six characters left now.
Still Burago's one of my favorite characters. I can't wait to see what cool things he does in this arc. If anything I would expect Gash vs Burago to be the last fight unless Clear sends everyone but Gash back.
-
I think Brago stuck around after the fall of Zophis because Sheri made him a promise the moment she took his book. Yes, he would help her save her friend…but she has to help him win the tournament and become king. Brago isn't the kind of Mamono to go back just because his "pathetic human" got what she wanted finished. Though it should be interesting after his training: Dufaux told him to "return to his old ruthlessness", yet after all he learned I doubt he'll be completely cold hearted if/when he faces Clear again.
As for his final battle...I say that if he and Gash are still around after Clear is finally stopped, they may have one final battle as was inplied in the "anime aborted ending". Though if Brago becomes king...it may be hard to imagine what he'll do: he may be a monster but the tournament, Gash and Sheri have taught him a lot.

Well, Brago would be a decent king, but…
Gash has to defeat the "god" who forces kids to fight, so perhaps Baou, not Gash, will play a major role in the future.
Does Brago's gravity even has a chance to defeat Baou, the third most powerful spell in the series? :wassat:

From what I've seen, the "Shin" series of spells (Clear's stuff, Shin Poruk, even the Shin spell Ashuron used) seems rather formidable as well. Baou is amazing but its mostly just associated with Gash's (and his daddy's) electric abilities harnessed through a giant dragon. Though the only seeming advantage of Baou compared to Shin is it keeps getting upgraded the better Gash is able to use it.

And Baou "eats" other spells, that's why it's freakin powerful….
By the way....
Was not Kanchome's spell "SIN", not Shin? I think Kewl pointed out that mistake of the chinese translation.

I hope so. Babies already screw up everything, but now they have to pop up from nowhere to kill off characters at their pleasure. >-<

Am I the only one just sick and tired of super-genius talking babies? Vino, Stewie, that stupid "Baby Geniuses" series…when will it end?
-
Vino doesn't really talk does he?
At any rate i like him better than those other… super babies.
-
Id really like to read this manga but it has only been translated up to volume 16 although you can read 18 online as well but for some reason not vol.17. Anyways, I was looking to buy the english version but I hear its censored. Is there any way to get this manga?
-
Talking or not, still can't stand Vino. (though I like Raiku's concept of "a baby is the purest form of power a Mamono can use to power their book")
As for the manga…the manga censoring is both good and bad. Good: they don't show off "little boy privates" like Gash at the beginning. Bad...no "Chichi wo Moge". As for the translations, I remember one group starting from 18 because of how different anime Faudo and manga Faudo are (particularly after it reawakens)...but that may not help you. I say if you can stomach the American censors, try to get that. But if you can't...then just keep looking.
-
Personally I'd stay away from Viz because lately they seem to be crazy about using bad dub names.
-
Scanlations after 18 are pretty much impossible to come by, but if you don't mind raws, here are the raws up to volume 28.
http://www.anime-destiny.info/manga/raw/index.php
By the way, is 28 the most recently released volume?
-
I think 29 is the most recent.
-
@Tokoro:

Vino is probably more like Cyborg 001 from the Cyborg 009 series than Stewie.
-
theres also a genius baby in JoJo

I was sort of making a generalization. I like 001, I hate Stewie and Vino. Pure and simple.
-
Yeah. We're working on the enxt stuff, but my only translator at the moment is doing the anime and the manga. So it's taking a while.
I'm gonna buy the japanese issue and scan it like I did last weeks when I get next weeks chapter on Tuesday. Spoilers show that the next part of this arc is with Umagon and Brago. They'll be going through all the characters before Clear is brought back, I'd think.

Yeah I was wondering when you were gonna post the new chapter info on the LJ. I sort of wanted to see the reaction from the people on there.
-
Oh, well, I may later help to scanlate some Mangas to english, perhaps I'll start with Dragon Quest after I buy the uncensored Manga in Spanish, so I may wait for Gash to be released over here.
I hope the trans are as good as the spnaish dub. The Shaman King manga was translated decently, so let's just wait, and don't worry, the editorial releases them either monthly or in 15 days, but yeah, the japanese raws are the best if you don't want to wait like 2 years to fill the gap of 18-28. -_-;
-
Our little Gash has evolved into Zeon. isn't it magical?
-
Who's in that weird cacoon thing at the end, is it Mir?
-
Who's in that weird cacoon thing at the end, is it Mir?
Its Clear. He's cacooned himself both to heal and transform into something that "doesn't need Goomu" to get around. But then again, he has homing beam attacks, so why does he need it anymore?
Didn't like this chapter: it was just another aftermath chapter after last week's shocking sendback of Canchome and further shows how "Zeon-like" Gash has to be to stop the nutjob. As uber as Gash has become, I'm starting to wish that Gash stops Clear…but someone else becomes king.
-
Umagon is the real king when this is all done.
-
@Cap'n:
Umagon is the real king when this is all done.
That would probably be a perfect Raiku-like ending (imagines all of the Mamono turned into horses and eating oats), but who knows anymore. I just want to get past this "ten month" period so we get to this ultimate showdown with "uber-Clear".
-

I Actually believe that Tia will be the key to defeat Clear, and who knows, maybe her love is what is needed to create the perfect Mamono World without battles, and so far, Tia's spells are the only thing that could have a chance against the so mighty demon god.

Just saw 303
! Goomu's been sent back. Man did clear cut him in half or something?
! Five left
! Gash
Tio
Umagon
Burago
Clear
! Who wants to bet that Burago sends back Tio and Umagon just to keep them safe and it turns into a Gash + Burago vs Clear fight?
! Followed by Burago sacrificing himself to weaken Clear and give victory to Gash? -

Maybe that's why…

Man, this week's was a shock! I don't even know what happened: whether Mir betrayed Gomu or Clear just chose to slice him in half for "being corrupted by Canchome". All that we know is it sounds like the final battle is about to begin in the Rockies. (where Clear's cacoon currently is) Hopefully this final battle will not dissapoint.
-
I stopped watching thw show at 108 because there wasn't anywhere for it (do you know what chapter and vol is that episode). I did skipp all way to episode 150, but that was a long time ago (and it wasnt subbed so I didn't know what they said).
does homepages.msn.com have all of the chapters?
-
I bet Clear will pull off a "Cell", obliterating random cities untill Gash and Co. come out for the ultimate battle. Seriously, clear's among the few mamono, including Zophise and Brago, that could mess up big time with humanity. It would be sad if WIFE was CLEARED, tough….
But, what if WIFE turns out to be the Mamono Godess that ruled before being defeated by the "new" god? XD

I don't think Clear cares one way or another about humanity. Once the tournament is over and he wins, he has an entire world to wipe clean and reshape in his own image. Why destroy another world when you're pretty much a god of your own?
-
Well he's pretty much just going to go home and erase everything. Maybe Earth will be a warm up.

More like he'll pull a Buu and destroy earth just as Kiyomaro and the others escape to the Makai world and then Gash faces off against Clear and then Gash will use the power of friendship to absorb all the spirits of the other mamodo of the fight and unleash a super attack that will destroy Clear completely.

I doubt Clear could destroy Earth. I would rather expect Raiku to make his Ultimate to have as much power as SUPER BAOU, wich could have erradicated a whole city if it wasn't for the loose of power to destroy Faudo. :P
-
The thing is that its a lot harder to destroy Earth (our planet, not the Mamono) than it is to destroy the Makai. To destroy Earth, you either need to just sear it with enough power across its surface (like a nuclear holocaust or Buu's Extinction attack) or just blast it in the middle and blow the planet at the core. (like Frieza's "five minutes" attack) As for destroying the Makai, its rather simple:
1. Clear becomes king
2. Clear mearly thinks away all Mamono and everything in said world. -
Burago is basically Brago right? And this Clear, was he 1st introduced in the manga. He sure does sound badass, if he wants to destroy Earth (by any chance its someone who is huge, like fausto)?
-
@Jedi:

Yeah Clear is introduced in the manga around volume 29 right after the Faudo arc's completion. He's your basic bishounen bastard. I wouldn't want to compare him to Sasuke, but he's like Sasuke except not gay, more badass, and he actually has a personality. Not to mention has taken out Ashuron who was supposedly one of the strongest.
Out of the main four I suspect Umagon will go next. Tio has main female protection, Gash has main character protection, and Burago has main rival protection.
What I don't get though is why Umagon wasn't sent back before Kanchome. I mean for crying out loud compared to Kanchome; Umagon's done very little. Plus his transformations will hardly be effective. I know we haven't seen what Umagon will be capable of after his training but I think Kanchome was a little more worthy of staying in the fight. Though I guess it can't be helped that Kanchome had to be taken out by a dirty trick. After all it's not like Gash would do anything that underhanded.
-
@Jedi:

1. Clear was first introduced recently, not too long after the Faudo arc ended. Basically he's this "bishonenous" Mamono who appeared and literally crushed Brago and then sent back a powerful dragon Mamono while fighting him and Gash at the same time. But he was so damaged that he said he would return ten months from that battle, when he no longer needed Goomu. (the beetle Mamono just sliced in two and sent back) He's been healing and possibly "evolving" since then, and his cacoon is currently in the Rockies.
2. When I said "Earth", I meant the planet Earth, not the Mamono Earth. (the sword-weilding Mamono sent back by Goomu at the start of the "King Festival").
-

Bari vs. Kiees was the best battle I've read so far. it got my interest back so I ended up buying all the volumes I didn't have while I was on vacation. Although I haven't read them all yet, and I hope there's more fights like this.
-
Yeah Clear's big plan is to become king… then divide by zero because he obviously is that much of a h4x.
That goes for all of them, actually. >_>
Everyone in the demon world is basically dead, and whoever becomes king gets to choose who comes back to life and who stays that way forever.
-
Oh yeah, the one thing in that stupid GashxTio chapter (the week before last) that was significant was Gash swearing to bring everyone back… which I find to be kind of interesting (yet predictible), if only because he seems to willing to give dicks like Clear and Zofis mercy.
And yes, Kiees vs. Bari is fucking awesome. Probably my favorite fight in the series.
-
Hmm, is Kiees the guy with the cigar in his mouth and springs?
Because I think I only read the raw on that fight and the page when Bari uses what looks like Gigano Zonis on that guy's attack and the whole page was awsome.
