woah. kakuzu made this chapter.
Naruto Discussion!

If we get a Hidan flashback or a Kakuzu flashback during this fight, then that character will die. Now that Kakuzu seems to have revealed his "true form", I believe he won't survive this battle. But yeah, this is going to be a long one.
-
This is exciting; how unusual. o_O
-
hehe Zabuza 2.0 just when the manga gets interesting slaughter'd

Well it happens. He'll screw it up next week anyway.
-
You know if Kishimoto does screw it up next week then it's sort of ironic isn't it? That the Naruto series takes after the main character in all aspects?
-
eh, i've never seen these chapter-videos of naruto on youtube before. that's pretty cool. and that would rock with one piece.
-
I see Ryuk has made a cameo in Naruto.
-
Edit: You know, I really am going to miss those damn fillers.

It took a while for this image to load, so fore a while I thought that Gai had and was showing off a talking penis ala Ogenki Clinc.

You know there is a way they could fix all their problems: just have Naruto wake up at the start of the last episode with Jiraiya by his bedside, telling him the last who-knows-how-long was a really long dream sequence and that he just fought Sasuke. While the Narutards would complain about losing a couple cool things (mostly Hinata's filler tech), then most of all the crap that we though happened…hasn't. (then again, it would be griped that this is like "Dallas" or "Newhart", but it would be an easy "out")
BTW: Hayate as L? Only if he borrow's Lee's eyes would it work :p Maybe with Ino as Misa and...well OK, I don't know Death Note too well.
-
Man the Manga is staying on point. Gotta love it.
-
quick question:
Has Chidori or Rakiri once at all killed the person it was intending to kill?
-
Well Kakashi killed one of the ghost and he killed Haku but no it wasnt intended for them per se.
There havent been 2 many deaths in this manga.
-
when they introduced it though wasn't it touted as the OHKO assination technique.
-
You know, something that makes the sound of 1000 birds chirping doesn't seem like the best assasination technique…
-
In a manga where "ninjas" wear stupidly bright uniforms and operate during daytime, 1000 birds chirping makes a hell of a lot of sense.
-
Hahaha. Well, keep in mind that in One Piece we just finished an arc featuring an assassination troupe that couldn't even kill 2 people.
-
they could've killed everyone in water7 if they were ordered to
EDIT: EXCEPT ICEBURG!
-
@Cap'n:
Hahaha. Well, keep in mind that in One Piece we just finished an arc featuring an assassination troupe that couldn't even kill 2 people.
Keep in mind that their order was just to transport the 2 people to HQ… it just took them about, let's say a year to do it. <----This is in no way hyperbole.
-
I should've known that by introducing a One Piece example I'd be flooded with a barrage of excuses and "that's different because"'s.

Or the super elite national war level task force that is somehow unable to kill 50 fishnet stockings wearing bums and a gay bondage enthusiast.

That was in no way a defense of CP9, I was just trying to crack a (poor) joke. There are many flaws with the Enies Lobby arc, particularly when Robin is escorted to the bridge. Why did it take so long for Spandam to get Robin to the bridge? Why did the members of CP9 carry around the key that would free Robin, thereby endangering their mission? Why did they wait for the Straw Hats to come to them, when they could've just taken them out one by one? Why did they play around in their fights so much, aren't they a group of elite assassins? You'd think someone who has been trained to kill people quickly and efficiently, and who has killed countless people, wouldn't hesitate to dispose of their opponents.
-
Well that assasination technique sure as hell suprised KAzu.
Naruto is the only ninja with bright colors, that is just the way he is.
-
Well that's because Kakashi's the only REAL ninja in this series. I'm still not convinced that they should even be called ninja's. Heck they're more like plain old mercenaries or soldiers. I guess Kishimoto just called them ninja to appeal to little boys or something.

So?
It's not like like there were any Samurai bigger than buildings (as seen in Kenshin) and I've never heard of pirates that most of the time do nothing but save whatever island they are currently on… -
Gaara senses danger.

Besides it was just an opinion. No need to get so offensive about it and well I could point out that there are people who do think that One Piece pirates are more like pirates than Naruto ninja's are ninja's but that's a seperate topic altogether and I'm not in the mood to fight about it.
Besides I've never heard of shinigami being samurai's either but there you go. I wasn't even trying to bash Naruto anyways I just don't feel they're ninja's that's all. They just seem more like mercenaries than ninja to me but as I said that's just my opinion.
-
Well, you're right, they don't really are ninjas, I agree with you on that, I was just trying to point out that…well...it happens all they time. Manga-ka take something, be it ninja, pirate, shaman, shinigami or whatever and turn it into something people are more likely to enjoy/buy.
I did not intend to start a fight.

Ah well okay. I just meant that Kishimoto maybe shouldn't have called them ninja's. I mean he could have easily called them a village of mercenaries and it still would have worked out the same. I was mainly pointing out that they just don't seem like ninja because Naruto ninja do the exact opposite of what actual fictional ninja would do. I mean when I think of ninja I think of Ninja Scroll or Samurai Deeper Kyo.
But that's just my opinion as I said and I'm glad we worked that out.

Backpeddling again I see.
Anyways, I like this Kakuzu guy and the current battle taking place. I knew this series still had some life left in it. Akatsuki is the best reason to be reading now (not that it's a bad thing).

Depends on what part of Akatsuki we're talking about…Hidan and Kakuzu are great, but Itachi is...the only thing that's more annoying than Itachi is Sasuke or Sasuke and Itachi combined...
...
And Deidara. I just don't like Deidara, but that's unreasonable personal hate, I just don't like that he looks like Ino's long lost sister.... -
Well, I'm nuetral on the whole Sasuke/Itachi issue, but I did always did like guys who used illusions and messed with people's minds. There just stock characters to me, so I can deal with 'em. But seriously, Akatsuki and CP9 need to get their own series.

There's only one problem with this idea: the characters are really boring. Sure, some of them may have the cool factor, but how long before it gets tediously repetitive?

What'd I'd like to know is… What's so cool about Hidan and Kakuzu badmouthing each other all the time? I mean their individual powers are pretty cool but I don't see what else is special about them.

Backpedling from what?
Gaara can't you go one day without being an ass? Because this crap get's old every single day.
-

Yeah, you have a point, it would enventually wear out its welcome. Well then how about a mini-series? Around 10 chapters.
However, I don't think CP9 or Akatsuki are boring tho. I love the interactions amongst the members themselves.
-
That's the thing though, there really isn't any character interaction. With Akatsuki, it's just a bunch of guys that meet up once in a while and discuss business. With CP9, it's strictly business, no fraternizing. There is that Jyabura -Kaku and Jyabura-Lucci rivalry thing, but that's just a pissing contest. My friends and I do that all the time. Not literally of course.
-
Why must you kill my dream stingy? cri….... Well, here's to the eventual CP9 side story.
Well back on topic, I pray Kishi doesn't decide to off another character. Surely he's learned his lesson this time (hopefully).
-
Many succesful tv shows have been made from just day to day interactions.
The reason why its special is because its funny. Same with any comedic thing. That is the only thing that matters. Franky is an idiot who have some personality issues but he his funny and over the top. That is just how it is.
Aethos you can make that argument about any comedy thing in any form. What is so special about Dave Chapelle? He just do skits. Big deal. lol

I never liked Dave Chapelle and most of the time I don't find stand up to be funny anyways. I guess you could make the same argument for those guys though but I just don't see how it's cool that all they do is badmouth each other. I mean isn't there anything else to it? Heck look at Itachi and Kisame they're rather silent and reserved but come off as far more awesome.
-
sanji and zoro do the same to each other
-
Eh, I get sick of these "they don't act like my interuptation of their role!" arguements. The ninjas in Naruto are unconventional ninjas, and really they're close enough. They all know know to use kunais, they all have stealth (the disguise jutsus, they make up for the consumes), and the old enough ninjas have killing moves. Most of these ninjas are students, so not only shouldn't they be perfect ninjas, but they all can't learn how to assassinate political figues right away. Plus, every ninja seems to know to basics, so stealth and all the common ninja stuff is useless.
Think about it, a kid expanding in his body and rolling at you doesn't sound like a ninja tech, but with proper hiding–why couldn't this be a great assassination technique? How the hell does an average man dodge and suvive that? Chouji's on his way, I'll tell you what.
These whiners are making for a very boring show. Besides, it's these things that make the show good anyway. These babies are just complaining to complain.
As for the CP9, they weren't on an assassination mission. They thought that they'd just get to play around with pirates, so they let their guard down. They never thought they'd get the keys, they'd thought the pirates would die. It's barely stupid at all in the context of the story.
-
Well said onemoment, I agree fully.
-
I like how the ninjas in Naruto kill people
oh wait..
-

Let's remember all who we've lost so far (part 1 and 2):
! Zabusa.
Gato.
Haku.
! A bunch of namless ninjas in the forest of death, don't they count for something? Oh yeah, no.
! Hayate ~Ol' Coughy, the guy with a hot ANBU wife.
! Dosu, and all of sound nin in fact.
! That cow-schemed ninja group who tried to killed Shikamaru, but get killed by Asuma.
! The 3rd Hokage.
! Jirobo
! Kidomaru
! Sakon and Ukon
! Tayuya
! Kimimaro ~ All dead, according to wiki.
! Sasori
! Chiyo
! AsumaThat's actually a pretty good list. A most of them killed by ninja. I might have missed a few. And let's not forget that that a LOT of no name characters get killed in this manga.
-
And they were all assasinated…
-
Assassination is the deliberate killing of an important person, usually a political figure or other strategically important individual. Usually by suprise.
This the only definition I have found, but there's many different interpetations of the word so I guess it depends on what a person percieves .
I'm sure someone here can find a better definition.
-
Heh, well it's pretty obvious that I think Naruto is less about Ninjas than it is about loud magic jumping children with knives. Just personal opinion I s'pose.
