I love these chapters. They are a quick and good representation of the horrors on the front line.

They are. It's like manga All Quiet On The Western Front.

Sorry but I disagree.
Nothing can substitute the visage and smell of a rotten corpse, and dismembered, disemboweled screaming or the smell of burnt flesh.
There's no representation for 16-20h of shelling by 100kg bombs, the constant wheezing of bullets.
As much as they manage to portrait the pointlessness of war, It's not a good representation of it's horrors. -
@pariston_hill You are right if you want to debate semantics. I think the author did a good job within the parameters of the genre.
-
Yeah, we know this isn't Barefoot Gen.
-
I almost never reread chapters but I reread something like the previous three chapters everytime there's a new one. Something about the way this substory is being depicted is both easy to read and deeply effective for me. I kinda wish we had gotten this backstory before Martha asked Henry for that dance...

That soldier. It really hit me. It was so random and cruel.
I'm very interested in why the war stopped. I guess we'll learn that in another character's flashback one day.
-
If anything happens to that seal in the future I'll never forgive them. Same with Bond.
-
A nice low-key chapter after the last arc. Won't be surprised if we see the seal again, even if she's just in a Project Apple flashback.
-
@Nectar
The seal defected to the capitalist pigs and the CIA is banking their own version of marine life MKUltra on a black site in Greenland. -
Damien deserves a Stella for being the cutest boy in class.

In case people missed it. Code White showed up on CR last week. We watched it yesterday, it was pretty good! https://www.crunchyroll.com/watch/G2XUNX9N2/code-white

It reminded me of the Ice Cube song.

Everyone needs a day in the spotlight.
-
Interesting how we haven't gotten much backstory on Franky except him being an ex-soldier. Feels like the author's hiding something juicy behind his comedic antics.
-
Poor Becky. None of the females around her are girly girls. They're tough bitches.

Damien needs dinner at Anya's house ASAP.
-
I love how Anya's "fake" family has all the love but Damien's real family are basically strangers. I just hope to see them all have dinner again...with Anya there too.

Poor Anya has to get a headache from following her dad's thoughts so much.
