Good episode, i like that Deb kind of understands Dexter´s vigilante reasons without accepting Dexter´s need to kill. I am happy that they got rid of Louis, he was really annoying.

This season keeps getting better each episode. By the way MiyamotoMushashi, you might want to throw spoilers from the episode in tags at least for a day or two after the release. Some of us, myself included don't have showtime and have to wait the next day to watch.
I understand that probably shouldn't check the page unless they're up to date but you can still have a discussion without giving away major elements.
! I didn't see the Minotaur suit thing coming. That was kind of random.
-
Oh sorry, did not think of that
-
[hide]I was sitting next to my sister watching yesterday's episode. The two of us fucking screamed and cheered when Louis finally died. Oh my god, he is ERASED from this fucking story! He is fired and dumped and dead! Good riddance.
This season is getting GOOD. I'm loving it more and more. I don't think Dexter is going to off LaGuerta, but I think LaGuerta is going to be offed (along with either Angel or Quinn, or maybe both). I am so damn hyped for this season.[/hide]
-
! This season has been just wonderful, best season in years. It's like the story is writing itself with how the development between Debra and Dexter is being handled. I just love the new villain, probably the best one of the series. He is a genuinely interesting, seemingly three dimensional character. He's educated, ruthless but strangely empathic, the kind of guy who doesn't mind talking and getting to know people and loyal to his own men. And he killed Louis. That shoots him to one of my favorite characters.
-
[hide]It's hilarious how the new showrunner has erased every shitty character from the past year. First that one detective, now Lewis. Hopefully Robot Doakes kills Quinn in the finale.[/hide]
-
I'm going to need a few minutes to stop laughing over the idea of Robot Doakes.
-
If Robot Doakes happens, best season ever.
I don't understand the hate for Lous, I don't think he was a bad character. He's probably the worst in sense of wasted potential and portrayal of gamers ever; but I wouldn't think he be so fan-hated.
! Super let down by the fact that he was just a childish man, and I thought it would've been great if he "played a game" with Dexter and was the big bad of the season. That would've been awesome.
-
! I really like the pace of this season. So many things that I thought would take multiple episodes wrap up in one. Also, Dexter no longer under Deb's watch, I thought that was going to last longer. Really excited for the first time in a long time with Dexter to see where things lead. I think one thing that hinders the seasons is that Showtime thinks it is a good idea to announce season renewals and such while a season is still going on. Big problem with TV in general these days in my opinion.
-
! It's a bit too fast..I'd preferred couple more episodes of just Dex and Deb figuring things out, without season villains knowing Dexter's identity.
Still can't take those accents and names seriously tho… -
In my opinion, I agree that announcing that it was going to be ruins some of the shock. But then again knowing that this is going to be 2 seasons long and the direction they are going in makes it even more mysterious of what direction they are going to go.
So far my favorite theory about what's going to happen is this;
! Lagurta is going to start suspecting Debra as the real Bay Harbor Butcher instead of Dexter.
-
Words cannot describe how amazingly well this show has bounced back from last season.
-
If Robot Doakes happens, best season ever.
If you count mechanical limbs only, then Robot Doakes is in the books!
-
Could the new black, female cop be our new Doakes? Oh god, Doakes came back to life on Easter in the form of a woman! We are saved!
-
Shit I did not see episode 3, 4 and I got my ass spoiled here facepalm
-

It is not only because of the tension between Dexter and Deb though, i think that Ray Stevenson really plays a great villain, definitely better than the last two (though Colin Hanks is actually a good actor but his role was bound to fail).
-
I have a feeling that Deb is going to die by the end of season 7 which would kinda make the next season 8 interesting! A pissed off Dexter killing whoever he sees without following his usual codes would give a valid reason to eliminate his character by the end of the season 8
-
That was the first episode this season where I feel like I don't like where they're going.
-
God dammit! Why is everyone putting their dick in places that they shouldn't be? Or in Deb's case, accepting dick from places she shouldn't be!
-
I liked it (even Quinn's tail chasing was kind of relatable but still fuck Quinn). The ending was hilariously fucked up whilst being consistent with the tone and build-up and opening the door to some interesting plot twists. His talk with Deb made it clear that he's been needing to get his rocks off for a while since Lumen left.
-
mmmmmm strahotski
-
I thought the first three episodes were fast paced and pretty unpredictable but the last couple slowed it down big time. Its more like there is nothing to look forward to now with all the mysterious/interesting characters getting either killed randomly (Louis) or thrown in jail
-
Well, Dexter and the new girl need to time to develop a connection, and for it to happen organically happen. Something tv shows tend to do is not to give the audience enough time with the characters to see them get a connection or build to relationship.
Not much had happen, but we did get to see that there's really nothing on Dexter's mind aside from her.

Isaak gets out of prison next week, so he should be able to do something good.

[hide]1. Dexter is the worst person to identify love in the fucking world.
2. I was slightly hoping for Deb to bust into the house and kill Hannah herself.
3. Between finding out her brother is a killer, losing an officer, being under heat from LaGuerta, losing suspect after suspect, losing a new boyfriend, having to cover her brother's murders, and now being betrayed by her brother so he can fuck the killer she wants dead, this hasn't been a very happy season for Debs. ;_;
4. I know everyone hates LaGuerta but… I just don't. I love Dex and Deb to death, but I'm slightly cheering for LaGuerta entirely because of her love for Doakes. I always liked her character, and sure, she's a backstabbing bitch. But either way, "Better to win by admitting my sin, then to lose with a halo".
5. Either Quinn or Angel are going to die. I don't think it's both, but one of them is. Especially after that bit with the money. Either Quinn is going to die, and Angel will take pride in the money and really make a restaurant (used for later seasons). Or Angel will die, leaving Quinn in complete guilt. Either way, I think Quinn is the most likely victim. I don't know how he's going to get away with what he's done aside from death or losing his job.[/hide]

For a second I think they might have been trying to write out Angel with that restaurant/retiring bit. I don't know, though. It seems like there's barely any cops left anyway to have someone die right now. I feel sort of let down with this season, though, and I have friends that feel the same way. Dexter was already losing his badassness, and now that Deb is constantly cockblocking his kills, he's gotten the wind taken right out of him and seems a shell of what we all know and love about him. Even the funny inner dialogue with himself has been severely diminished, and that was one of my favorite parts of the show next to his hunts and close-encounters almost getting caught.
-
Well, that was one of my favorite episodes, so much happened:
! Clusterfuck. I love it. I was kinda worried that they would put the kids on the sideline the entire season. But here they are, all three of them XD.
"Teenagers are great, you just have to tell them what to do. My place never looked that clean."
I think Isaac is now my favorite antagonist.. -
Issac has had one of the best reveals. Its funny, when I saw the preview for the next epsiode…. I thought it was the finale for this season. And was pleasantly surprised we have like 4 more episodes to go.
On a side note, this season doesn't really have a big bad serial killer with a nice nick name. Which is hella refreshing.
-
Isaac is easily one of the best characters this series has ever produced. Best villain by far. His homosexuality is treated so…sincerely. There's no stereotyping or really making a deal that the person he loved was a man or anything, he's presented as someone who has lost someone he really loved, the sex of the partner being totally irrelevant. It's so genuine and wonderful, it really broke my heart.
-
Could you edit your post and put that in spoilers, it hasn't even been 24 hours yet.
-
Most people already predicted this reveal but unlike last year's embarassment the show never treated it like a major turning point. Isaac is the bomb.
Glad Astor is still a brat who can't act.
-
My god, next episode needs a musical number or something!
[hide]We got Dexter trying to kill Issac, Issac trying to kill Dexter, Debra trying to protect Dexter, Debra and Dexter trying to protect the kids, Dexter trying to save Hannah, Hannah possibly being bad for Dexter, LaGuerta hunting down Dexter, and the brotherhood hunting down Issac.
Oh, and Quinn I guess.
Honestly, anyone could die here. Next season is going to be the last season. Who knows what that season could be like.[/hide]

Isaac being gay was revealed a few episodes ago dude.

How come everyone is acting like its a new reveal, because if it was I totally missed it.
-
Hilariously, I didn't even think about it until yesterday's episode. It was pretty obvious, but I didn't consider that possibility. I thought they were maybe father and son, but NOPE! Makes a lot more sense now.
-

It's a bit of a Renly/Loras thing.
-

I don't know about others but I thought it was pretty damn obvious they were lovers when Isaac cried over Viktor's picture.

I just interpreted it like he is a new type of antagonist in Dexter, one that in one moment talks about feelings and such and in the next bashes someone´s skull in. So, him crying over the picture was just reminiscing about an old, now dead friend for me but obviously, i was wrong.
-
I honestly thought he was his father or a close relative. Never would have guess that big bad terminator guy was gay.
-
WOW Argentina was a fucking great episode. I did NOT see Deb admitting that all of a sudden coming at all. And the actress sold is SO well. I had to go back and watch the line again just because it hit so hard and came out of nowhere. I almost started crying myself. The way they wrapped up the episode was great, too. This was by far the best episode in a long time.

Yeah it came as a total surprise. In fact I was actually happy that this freaky Deb/Dex thing stopped at the end of last season but out of the blue, starts again!
Latest episode…
[hide] I thought Isaac would last at least a couple more episodes but I guess all the secrets of his came out so no point in dragging his character more.
La Guerta finally narrowing down to Dexter would be probably the end of the season twist! Goes with the "Surprise, Motherfucker!" title given to it. [/hide]

! yeah, I was wondering what they were going to do with La Guerta's character eventually, since she dies so early in the books.
-
! I really loved Isaac's character and it's really sad to see him go. But at least his character was handled very well and he was given an appropriate ending. A character bent on the revenge for his loved one and who questions himself on whether he himself was responsible for the death of that loved one tragically dies losing everything but still not regretting a second of his time with his lover. RIP Isaac, you wonderful character.
! Also LaGuerta needs to die. Fuck LaGuerta. -
@Thousand:

I can't agree more
-
! Poor Isaak. He survived for a long time with that bullet in his abdomen…He could have been saved.
At least Hannah is alive. I love Hannah...
! Also I will not be surprised if Deb actually snapped, and started burn shit left and right. She has weird look on her face at both arson crime scenes (or maybe I'm imagining things)
! And yeah, fuck LaGuerta. -
[hide]The arsonist is the fire investigator, obvs.[/hide]

! And yeah, fuck LaGuerta.! Yeah, that was my biggest problem with his death. Thematically-wise, it was a fitting death but…
! "The bullet's still in me, I'm a dead man." Erm bullshit? So long as you're not shot in the heart or in the brain, you'll be fine if you go to a hospital so long as you take measures to prevent an excessive amount of blood loss. -
[hide]The arsonist is the fire investigator, obvs.[/hide]
! A bit too obvious…Smells like a red herring. Fire investigator is serial killer arsonist...
But then again "blood splatter analyst likes to kill people in bloody ways" is core premise...
! That fire guy is creepy as hell, tho@Thousand:

! Absolutely agree. Clearly a lot of time passed between shooting and death. Not to mention Isaak was completely lucid till the last breath.
And one more thing that bugs me. In the bar scene and prison earlier ,he was a goddamn terminator, killing and injuring armed guys left and right.
And then George kills him with one bullet, without any resistance. Yep. -

! Well yeah, that too but…was there even a point to portray him as pragmatic, ruthless and efficient killer who wanted revenge more than everything else (basically a very good interesting season big bad), if in the end they turned him into (still good) but different character? IMHO, his soryline storyline would have been better with more screentime (especially if that would mean less BHB\LaGuerta plot and "Quinn's Strip Club Adventures")
