Well I don't think we will be seeing anyone from SS until the winter war though. But this chapter was pretty cool!
Bleach Discussion

@Octogon:
Just curious, what's so bad about the SS arc? IMO it was the highlight of the series thus far.
Bleach has earned by ire because it left a very sour impression on me right from the start. The first couple episodes were fabulous, because it looked like a magical-girlfriend version of Yu Yu Hakusho; when Kon, the generic perverted SD side-kick was introduced carrying a briefcase stuffed full of wangst, I started to dislike Bleach and my impression of the series went down from there. I couldn't stand the generic plot and generic characters, even though I took a liking to Chad (though his damage soaking ability early on was weird, as was his submission to those bullies) and Urahara. The introduction of the "Gate to Heck" in Chad's episode was really exciting. However, I have a passionate hatred of Orihime, the black cat woman and especially Uryuu Ishida, for (guess what) their genericism. The typical breasty emotional healer who ends up getting beaten up a lot. The avenger angsty prefect with 1337 skillz and dark hair (Saucekay?!). I only dislike the black cat lady, though, because she seemed to be a sort of cameo character like Pandaman but was retconned into the story.
When faced with a rescue prospect story, not unlike Enies Lobby, Retrieve Sasuke, and the Red Ribbon Army invasion (basically, a shonen staple) for a character I didn't really care for nor could imagine a passionate burning desire to chase after, I passed on Soul Society. I really should start reading it because the Shinigami in it are awesome but most of their fights seem trivial (I'm a fan of Kenpachi). I also hated Aizen's return, the "zomg big zanpakuto" executioner's blade, the silly Soul Society conspiracy, the annoying suspension of disbelief I had to swallow with Shinigami actually "dying" when they're spirits, the Ichigo's former life dude who Rukia killed…man, there's so much wrong with SS I've lost my incentive to go watch it again.
The biggest reason I won't watch it, though, is that I do not really care for fights anymore. I've outgrown mindless fighting between parties and outsiders, which is one of the reasons I complain about OP's fights and I spend more time watching more involving shows instead of writing for the Wiki.
However, I am curious on what happens and I like to keep tabs, so if anyone would be so kind, please give me a short or long synopsis of what has happened since SS. Thanks in advance.

by the way…
did anyone see ryokichi from kochi kame making a cameo in bleach 243? cuz i couldn't find him =( -
cheater. so small >_<;
-
1)Ichigo and co return home
2)Ishida goes emo for losing his powers, gets some training
3)Enter Vizard
4)Ulquiorra and Yammy (Vegeta and Nappa) goto town, beat up Ichigo and Orihime, only after Hollow Ichigo takes over
6)Random Shinigami come to earth (Hitsu, Matsumoto(big boob vice cap) Ikkaku (baldy) Renji and Ikkakus partner with the eyebrows
7)Another arrancar invasion, Rukia goes wtf own on one, Ichigo loses to Grimmjow, goes emo.
8)Ichigo goes to Vizard home
9)Orihime finds the home, everyones shocked
10)Ichigo learns to use his hollow form for 11 seconds
11)Arrancar return, Ichigo goes hollow for 11 secs, loses to grimmjow again. But only after cutting his arm off.
12)Shinji (Vizard) fights Grimmjow
13)Orhime gets captured
14)Shinigami ordered home, Ichigo forbidden to goto Hueco Mundo
15)Ichigo wants to go get her, Chad and Ishida come, after getting upgraded.
And thats the point where you see Bleach at now.
I like Bleach. -

I thought the first few episodes of bleach were horrible compared to SS. I loved Kon, I don't understand how you can't. He's awesome in so many ways. I thought it was obvious from the first she was introduced that Yourichi was big, and not just a talking cat. And Ishida is an avenger, I suppose, but the similarities with Saskuke stop there. Not to mention the fact that Ishida doesn't really mind shinigami much.
I don't understand you reasons at all, but this is opinion…

What do you mean you've outgrown fights? Are you saying you're too mature for fights? I certainly hope not. And I can't understand how fights aren't entertaining. they are IMO some of the best parts. Every bit of a fight is pure awesomeness. I don't understand how you can watch/read these series and not like fighting. I can't understand most of your reasons, but I'm not you.
-
The only part I argee with you terek is the spirits actually dying. They are already dead. It kinda seems lame IMO. That and the spirits aging has always puzzuled me.
-
@Octogon:
I thought the first few episodes of bleach were horrible compared to SS
…because those first episodes were focused around a troubled but well-meaning adolescent with a newfound mantle of power to bear? If I read to Dragonball Z in manga form, I would read the source material, not some reincarnation with a penchant for swords.
@Octogon:
I loved Kon, I don't understand how you can't. He's awesome in so many ways.
Kon is the most generic sidekick character I have ever seen in any manga, with a predictable naming scheme and a tired tendency for perverse actions, when in fact he's incapable of reproduction. There's absolutely nothing distinctive about him, especially in comparison to Marchosias, Derflinger, Kero, Kamo, Meowth, Demidevimon, Luna, Shamisen, Suezo, Oolong, Puck, Shippo (well, maybe).
@Octogon:
I thought it was obvious from the first she was introduced that Yourichi was big, and not just a talking cat.
I'm an adversary to "collective coincidence", which states that everything in shounen manga is connected and coincidences are mythical. I actually liked the idea that there was just some random talking cat around; it made Bleach seem a little more realistic, or rather, atmospheric. In the Japanese society relegious mythologies have integrated themselves with daily life to a point, but the people there no longer believe the mythologies, so it's a bit of a surprise when something happens…
Hmm, I'm not sure how to put this into words, but I should say that Yourichi gave Bleach a "fictional Asian feel" instead of a 'shounen manga' feel. It's the kind of stuff Hayao Miyazaki is skilled at weaving into his movies; different elements from imagination, superstituion, folklore, legend, history, religion, and the supernatural interacting concurrently in one stage. It's more "worldy", whereby these elements put characters into perspective with the whole planet; life does not revolve around them, they are but a small part of the world and there's a whole lot of diversity beyond the comprehension of people.
In sum, the cat seemed like an outsider who became an insider; a sort of "japanese folktale" come to life coincidentally brought into the show as a main character. Then again, though, Bleach's main theme is about "circles" so I guess Kubo tricked me into building up expectations.
@Octogon:
Not to mention the fact that Ishida doesn't really mind shinigami much.
If the Uchiha turn out to be the ancient enemies of the Kyuubi, Sasuke wouldn't really mind Naruto so much even though they're supposed to be mortal enemies. Still, though, the "cool avenger" stereotype isn't just for N- and B-, but other shounen like Kenshin, DBZ, etc. Just like the dumb & useless girl stock character (Orihime) isn't just restricted to B- and N-, the unconventional punk kid with a heart of gold (Chad) stock character, the moé girl with a troubled past, hidden potential and a great burden (Rukia), the soft childhood friend (that one girl)…a LOT of standards in Bleach, moreso than any other shows I've seen. :/
@Octogon:
I don't understand you reasons at all, but this is opinion…
SS seemed noticeably contrived/unoriginal/uninspiring, which is why I didn't delve into it. Have you heard of the phrase, "Are they still on Planet Namek"? It applies really well to SS, except Frieza left the building instead of getting his arse handed to him (literally).
@Octogon:
"outgrown" means I find them boring, and this applies to all shounen manga except OP. All the fights basically follow the same format and they look ridiculously like earlier fights while no real progres in the story is made. PROOF FROM THE RECENT CHAPTER:
!
-
While I'm still making my way through the Viz translation of Bleach and therefore the SS arc, I do agree that so far it has been a slump for the series. I decided to jump to the third arc and generally prefere it. Granted the recent chapter (243) was a bit cliche "hey look, we've been training for ___ and now have kickass new powers". While it was nice to FINALLY see Chad kick ass again (I also like him and find it annoying he gets aminor role in SS), it is still a cliche. In fact I found the whole "we must train for a very long time" part slightly annoying as it dragged on to long for my liking. Frankly I liked it more when Renji, Tōshirō Hitsugaya, Rangiku Matsumoto, Ikkaku Madarame and Yumichika Ayasegawa were running around on Earth. I found those chapters to be more enjoyable, partly because of them hanging around in Ichigo's school and Ikkaku showing off his bankai.
-
Yeah, I've found the parts post-SS is be really enjoyable. Part of it is seeing Ikkaku and some of the others again, and part of it is seeing a cast of interesting new characters.
SS had some good points and bad points, and one bad point is that a lot of the characters in SS were pretty much filler. Hell, Byakuya, the big bad boss of the arc, was pretty much one of the most boring of the Gotei 13. I found his fight with Ichigo to be pretty dull, especially with much more interesting ones going on (I really wanted to see Genryuusai vs. Ukitake and Kyoraku).
Another thing that made me mad was how much Chad and his powers had been hyped up, only for him to get chumped pretty early on. Same with Ganju, actually. He seemed pretty impressive in that little skirmish with Ichigo, but when he lands in SS, he runs around and fights rather pathetically.
-
Kenpachi can't use Bankai yet? Oh shoot, we have a sleeping monster here, people. oO;
-
I thought Ganju was pretty cool with his sand techniques. He really made a fool out of Yumichika.
Bleach isn't really an original or though provoking story, but that's why Bleach isn't the only manga I read. I think Bleach is just an enjoyable fun ride not to be taken too seriously.
-
Kenpachi can't use Bankai yet? Oh shoot, we have a sleeping monster here, people. oO;
He can't use his shikai either. Kenpachi is a monster who has tons of potenial. I really didn't mind kenpachi until his fight with tosen and the fox guy. Damn him just owning tosen's bankai was fing sick.
I for one though ichigo vs byakuka one of the 3 best fights in the series, but thats just me.
Oh yeah…wow, that chad comparison with the other pages was just...
-
Yeah, The Chad/Demoura and Ichigo/Yammy thing was so accurate from panel to panel, it makes we want to think KT meant to do it that way…
-
I thought Ganju was pretty cool with his sand techniques. He really made a fool out of Yumichika.
Yeah, but because he fought like a blithering dumbass. He showed himself to be a competent 1-on-1 fighter when first introduced, then he does a 180 and turns into "RUN AWAY AND THROW FIREWORKS!!!"
-
So, the filler arc is over? I really haven't watched the anime in awhile; I'm still watching Soul Society.
-
@Senshi:
So, the filler arc is over? I really haven't watched the anime in awhile; I'm still watching Soul Society.
No, but it's at a climax I believe. I think it should be over in 5-10 episodes. It has no reason to stretch any longer(watch them stretch it longer anyway…).
-
Yeah its at the climax. I am waayy excited for 98, kenpachi vs maki. Hell yeah! filler arc is really good. I love it.
I hope some bountos go down soon.
Kenpachi vs maki, I really hope maki loses since he cant absorb paritcles and such.
byakuka vs whats her face who fought rukia, I really hope she goes down soon too.mr. whale doll guy has to go down soon too.I also really really want to see mohwak guy vs ichigo again. That fight the first time was sweet.
-
You mean Koga?
Yeah,that fight was awesome.
Raw strength vs a zanpakutou.
-
Yeah, basically all the Bounto need to go down like soon. Hopefully, Kenpachi vs. Maki will be awesome and then Maki will be done(dead, totally defeated, or otherwise).

Ishida: …I’m pretty sure I said that I’m a “Quincy”, Arrancar. Go tell Aizen. That’s why I didn’t finish you off. Go tell him that “a Quincy has come” and that he should truly be afraid of the Quincy, not the Shinigami!建物が崩れ始める。
*The building starts to collapse石田:なんだ!?
Ishida: What the!?チャド:崩れそうだ!
Chad: It’s gonna collapse!一護:オマエラがあんなムチャクチャしたからだろーが!!地下だからどーのこーの言ってたの誰 だよ!
Ichigo: It’s because you guys went all crazy!! Who the hell was the one who said that we were underground so we can’t fight like that!アイスリンガー:違うな。・・・そういう仕組みなのだこの部屋は。我々は此処の番人。此処を通りこのラスノ ーチェスへと侵入する者あらば排除し、我々が敗北すれば部屋と共に崩れ去る。

IceRinger: You’re wrong…This room was designed that way. We’re the guards of this place. We stop all those who pass through here hoping to break into Los Noches and if we fall here the room falls with us. Remember, humans…the opponents you’ve challenged are like that…! There is no end for this battle, there is no victory ahead for you…一護:とりあえず階段だ!急ぐぞ!!

IceRinger: …one to be feared huh…Quite the mouth you’ve got, but there’s one thing you’re mistaken about, Quincy. There is nothing that Aizen is afraid of. Ichigo: …It’s huge…チャド:見ろ・・・石英の樹が針みたいだ・・・本体もそれ以外も恐ろしくでかいぞ・・・距離感がおかしくな りそうだ・・・。
Chad: Look…That quartz tower looks almost like a needle…The central building and the rest all are incredibly huge...it’s like my sense of distance is going to go out on me (just by looking at it).石田:全体像が掴める距離から見られてよかった・・・。
Ishida: At least we were able to view it from a distance so we could get a feel for the whole thing.一護:見たら何か変わんのか?
Ichigo: Does something change by us seeing the whole thing?チャド:気休めにはなる・・・見えないよりはな。
Chad: Just putting our minds at ease…more so than not being able to see the whole thing.一護:・・・とにかく、あの家のどこかに井上が居るって考えていいんだよな・・・。
Ichigo: ….For the time being though, we can assume that Inoue’s in that building then…石田:だろうね。他に隠せそうな場所も無い。
Ishida: In all likelihood. It doesn’t seem like there’s any other place they could hide her.一護:走るぜ。モタモタしてたらまたケンカふっかけられるかもしれねえからな。
Ichigo: Then we gotta run. If we hang around here too long we might get caught up in another fight.チャド:・・・・・・・・ム。
Chad: ……un.場面変わる。

EDIT: Alright, you got it.
A very cool chapter this week I think.
-
wow Azien rocked for that little bit
-
Wow!!! Is it just me or one of those people on the table looks like Inoue's brother????
But cool chapter!!!
-
Man, what a freak show those espadas…in a good way.
Things feel quite interesting right now.
-
3 things:
1. This chapter looks awesome, I love the black epsada's design, its kickass.
2. Hot damn! Ikkaku and Kenpachi are in battle bladers. Awesome, this game looks sweet.
3. Why are the espada following aizen again. I find it strange that hollows are following an ex shinigami. If I remember right, it's because they want the hollow world and the human world connected, correct? -
3. Why are the espada following aizen again. I find it strange that hollows are following an ex shinigami. If I remember right, it's because they want the hollow world and the human world connected, correct?
There's that, but also think about what Iceringer says in this chapter:
! …one to be feared huh…Quite the mouth you’ve got, but there’s one thing you’re mistaken about, Quincy. There is nothing that Aizen is afraid of. Therefore we all gather and serve under that man. For us, who were born from fear, the path of that man who holds no fear is as bright as the moonlight. That man–.

What is Battle Bladers? Is that the Wii game?
-
One more pic:
!
I just love the character design in Bleach!
EDIT:
And the RAW:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/01z72z -
Looks like Lupi is King Dead afterall
Some of the Espada look really interesting, others look really boring.
-
So Freaks'r'us have all gahtered and await our little troupe. I do wonder what Inoue will say once she finds out they came after her.
-
Is the arrancar on the second farthest seat on the left a female? People keep telling me yes but I can't tell.
Anyway, it's nice to see Gin and Tousen back.
-
@Cap'n:
What is Battle Bladers? Is that the Wii game?
It's the ps2 game coming out in october. It's kinda reminds me of NH3 style.
http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/bleach/blade/index.html
it looks really sweet, especially the bankai's.
-
Hm. No idea what to make of this.
-
Is the arrancar on the second farthest seat on the left a female? People keep telling me yes but I can't tell.
Yeah, she's female.
You can see her breasts in an earlier chapter. -
Alright, I knew there was at least one female arrancar, but I didn't know it was that Espada.
Based on what we can see of it, the middle espada on the left also looks like a female. It would be nice to have more than one female in the group.
-

You can't tell until KT says it's a female anyway so don't bother.
-
Breasts are usually a good indicator, though.
-
here are the upcoming episode titles
99. Shinigami vs Shinigami! The fast wild power!
99. Shinigami vs. Shinigami! Bousou suru chikara!100. Soifon's death? The Onimitsu Kidou's end.
100. Soifon shisu? Onmitsu Kidou no saigo.101. Mayuri's Bankai! Sawatari - Demons confrontation!
101. Mayuri Bankai!! Sawatari - Akuma no Gekitotsu!WTF
-
Where'd you get that?
-
ANN and yes I know that they are editable but there hasn't been anything like the Naruto titles thing happen with Bleach yet so I'm believing it
-
I trust ANN for the most part. They are reliable 95% of time.
I ask because when I saw your post and look at ANN the titles weren't there, but now they are, wierd.

What? Those sound like acceptable titles for this filler. The fillers will be ending soon anyways.

I'm glad it's not all Ichigo beats the Vizard. Good to see the side characters in action, even if they are evil genius maniacs.

Holy Crap is that Shaq!!!!
SHAZAM!

Ahh, nice to see all the Espada. Now we don't have to wait for each of them to be introduced one at a time.
Why do I see them ultimately failing to rescue Orihime? I mean, it's AIZEN. all the Vizoreds think Ichigo hasn't trained enough, and both Ishida and Chad haven't powered up enough to even scratch the guy.
Oh well. It's should be lotsa Espada fun from here on.

I think it was pretty obvious from the getgo that Orihime is there to stay.
It'll be interesting to as least see how Chad and Ishida may stack up against the Espada (see: how long they last in the rape). I'm interested in the shorter, gruffer looking Espada on the right side.
-
so this could be one of those loosing Resuce arcs that spawn the later winning one…...sigh
-
I may get more complicated than that, since I believe Aizen is ready to invade SS ahead of schedule.
