! Is there now a little bit of Lich in every reality? That can't be good for the multiverse
! unless it can regenerate its entire body from just the hand, then the Multiverse is in trouble.

! well, it seems we won't be having Sweet Pea for very much longer, the Lich inside him is gonna have to be able to sense that hand
I hate this
New episode was really good. One of the best in a while. Also…
First thing I did after finishing the episode was listen to this song. Then the entire Harvest. I may have listed to Neil for the rest of that day actually, haha.
New episode of Adventure Time is on tonight at 7 pm est
Wow, "Hall of Egress" felt like the early adventure episodes. it was awesome.
Breaking news!
Official Adventure Time Lego set is coming (eventually)!
Off topic but… DAT INDOMINUS REX THO!
That was a really good episode
These past two episodes have been absolutely fantastic.
Very excited to see Mature Finn become more of an established thing.
Finn playing in the river reminded me of Hermeto Pascoals Música da Lagoa. :)
I think this is a leaked teaser.
! Broke is Crown. airing March 29th (2 weeks from now)
!
Thought it might have been a good one to share
Normal Man was one of the funniest episodes I've seen in a long time
-Everything with them climbing the mountain
-Magic Man "throwing people under the bus"
-"You turned me into a giant flaming barrel of garbage!"
I haven't been talking much here since I moved my thoughts to reddit in general, but yeah. Normal Man was pretty damned great. It's also Jesse's last episode, which is sad considering Magic Man and the Mars stuff was his baby. I'm kinda curious who's gonna take the helm for his episodes in the future if the Golb stuff comes to play later.
That said, Every episode that came before was pretty damned great too. Finn turning into this a monstrous silhouette of his father during the "Don't Look" episode kinda further establishes the theme this season has been showing that Finn is trying to mature into a person that's better than Martin. It's really cute how fatherly/responsible he has been lately.
Yeah, the last handful of episodes have all been really solid! Normal Man had some spectacular animation/storyboarding going on as well!
I think it's been a great season overall. Hall of Egress, Bad Jubies, Crossover were exceptional. Episodes like The Thin Yellow Line and Summer Showers were just fun. A few weak ones but this weeks was great too. More backstory on the world is always nice.
! It's nice to see the elemental guys brought up again. It's also interesting that bubblegum couldn't seem to use her power but Slime and Flame princess clearly could. That's going to come up again I'm sure. The fart noise though is just as funny as when they did it the first time. It's even better now that it's coming out of PB.
! Not sure if Patience is going to be an end of season kind of problem, a recurring problem, or something like Maja where she'll pop up a season from now in a big way. She might have a way to undo the work of her previous incarnation and tweak the crown's magic. It seems to be a recurring theme that the Ice Elemental is always a bit.. off.
It's ending? That's a good thing, they need to wrap some things up and they've been running on fumes for a while, the quality has just been… lower... for a while.
In an official statement, Cartoon Network promised the final run of Adventure Time episodes will encompass ”142 half-hours of content,”
This was confusing but… I think it means the series as a whole. So... 284 episodes. ANd we're around 230 right now. So... 2 seasons left of 26 episodes apiece? That's plenty to work with really, but the need to start wrapping stuff up NOW.
But considering Regular Show is also ending, and Stephen Universe at best probably only has its 4/5 season (originally 3) to go? Eeeeverything is ending in 2018 apparently. What are they going to replace it all with?
I think it means 142 half hours, so 284 episodes (give or take half hour specials). BUt the article I think meant the show will have 284 episodes total by the end of its run.
So 284 - 230 = 54 episodes left.
2018? I wonder if CN could really commit showing 2 seasons of this show in that timeframe, given how long it took to even get to end of Season 7.
Either way, I kinda figured it was going to end at either season 9 or 10. Especially since this season in particular wrapped up a few character arcs and redeemed quite alot. Hoping whatever the crew has in plan is good.
Yeah. I really like the show, but I'm glad to hear it's finally ending. The show has already lost most of its momentum and interest and I would hate for it to become another Simpsons or Spongebob. Still, here's hoping that the last 50-odd episodes manage to be really fun and satisfying.
Also, I think we're supposed to get a movie at some point.

I don't doubt it. They managed to blast through 26 episodes of Steven Universe in two months
I haven't been into this show in a while but I would be glad to see a proper ending. I want to see the AT team work on something new, but idk if Pen will ever be back
Holy shit to the whole two parter.
Yeah that was…interesting. Tho is it just a 2-parter? That second one just kinda...stopped.

Yep. Preboot and Reboot were the Season 7 finale.
The next arc is Adventure Time Islands.
! Finn finally got his robo arm!
Exiting!
Also. About Martin's flashback back in the episode "The Visitor"
Really stocked for Islands!
The world needs more James Baxter The Horse
New episodes this week were pretty good.
Also, the entire Islands miniseries has leaked online and I just finished watching it. All I'll say is that you'll probably find it more satisfying than Stakes.
Treetrunks mother of alien hybrids is probably the strangest episode of Adventure Time. By Adventure Time standards.

It was extremely strange. I just couldn't get over it. So much so that I spent hours googling related things and found this:
http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/exceptionally-weird-adventure-time-has-surprising–249118
Watched some of the islands stuff.
! Damn, I was so thrown off by the sudden Swedish in one of the episodes.
New mini series. It's called Elements.
Starts April 24th, although there might be news of CN releasing a physical version early(I'm just guessing based off CN's decisions lately)
Its so weird that they're regularly changing the intro now 7 years in. As a result it always sounds weird when they switch out the names.
Oh well, Ice King and Betty in the last season maybe we can finally resolve some things.
The whole of Elements is out online.
! What a strange strange special. I wish the ending for Betty was a bit more conclusive, but now it's another thread up in the air again. At the same time, I think they pointed towards some resolution with her and Simon in the idea of accepting him as he is. I'm not sure that's the direction they're sticking with either, since they played both sides of it, but it puts whatever conclusion there is for Ice King into question.
! The best part of the special was def all of the elemental character redesigns. They were a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to bring back a whole bunch of characters (Party Pat was the biggest surprise cameo for me). The landscapes were great, too. Visually this is peak Adventure Time. Plot-wise, I think Islands was definitely stronger. We didn't really learn much about the elementals or Patience St. Pim and Ice King. I think it was mostly an excuse to have fun with the designs, and the individual episodes were still pretty fun. Also, while the stuff with LSP was somewhat fun, I think the idea of her being the anti-elemental was a bit forced. Despite my issues with the plotting, there were a lot of great moments, like the assimilation into Slime Princess, the creepy scene with the candy song, and the emotional arc of Betty in general was pretty solid, if inconclusive.
! My fave ep of the bunch was Cloudy. Even though it didn't have the visual flair of the others, it was a really good Finn and Jake ep, tying their emotional arcs into things, which I thought gave some important perspective. It looks like we'll be getting some focus on them soon, too, with Jake's alien origins coming into the spotlight again. I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out. Elements, though? Pretty good. Better than Stakes, not as good as Islands, quality Adventure Time.
Just finished watching Elements myself
! Maybe it's because I watched the second half all in one go, but I felt like the second half was stronger than the first half of the story line. Of course, there was a lot more going on in that we got to see all the different sections of Ooo, the stakes were raised with Jake's absorption and Betty's betrayal, and of course the LSP stuff. Overall, I have to agree that it was better than Stakes, but not as good as Islands.
@Wagomu:

! I guess I'm impatient or something, cause I'm of the opposite opinion in that I think it was the weakest episode of the batch. Yeah, I get what they were trying to do and be more introspective, but I feel like maybe it would've worked better as a stand-alone episode. As it is, it just stopped the overarching story line dead in its tracks. Also, while it had the meaningful introspective stuff, a lot of it felt kinda slow and filler-y.

Man, I just did a rewatch of I Remember You on a whim and damn that was a powerful episode. Still makes me cry like a baby. It definitely makes me think twice about the idea of Simon's ending needing to be acceptance. I forgot how painfully they wrote his perspective on turning.
It's making me reflect on the nature of Adventure Time, too. We're sort of almost at the end here with one more season after this one left, and it's been a hell of a ride. A lot of it's been undermined by Cartoon Network's terrible practices with airing their own shows. Between that, Steven Universe taking over my attention with its more coherent narrative, and some significant changing of the guard with AT's staff, Adventure Time sort of fell to the back of my mind, which is unfortunate. When I think about it, this has really been a unique and amazing show for a lot of reasons. Its premise was pretty creative by itself, it helped bring serial narrative into western kids cartoons, and the staff served as a creative hotbed for a lot of writers and artists to grow and share whatever strange ideas they had. Rebecca Sugar is a prime example of the latter point, since her music was encouraged, became the backbone of I Remember You, and helped fuel the experience that is Steven Universe.
The unfortunate drawback of AT's diverse creativity has been an inconsistency in writing throughout the series. I feel like the tone of the Ice King's story has never been quite the same as it was back in I Remember You. I think that, while Rebecca Sugar might have had a clear idea on what to do with him when boarding that episode, I don't think the remaining staff has ever really picked up on it. Some other plot and character threads have really gone back and forth and/or ended up in limbo, too (Flame Princess comes to mind immediately, but PB's undergone a more vigorous back and forth with her character). Like I hinted at above, this weakness in narrative has made me forget about a lot of the series, since the threads aren't that easy to keep track of, and some aren't worth following. Still, without this mutable aspect of the show, it would never have hit the inspiring peaks it did.
When I look back at Adventure Time, I feel a need to appreciate just how different and strange the individual episodes can get. The same show has generated stories that are really funny, tense, emotional, philosophical, and experimental in nature. It's a shame that I've let so much of it slip from memory, and I know that I'm not alone. The viewership, ratings, and general hype of the show have been slipping since somewhere along the sixth season. I just think that it's worth remembering just how cool of a show this has been, and still is. Elements proves that Adventure Time is still willing to transform into something new. I love this show and I'm looking forward to seeing what else it can do while it has the chance.
I think I rambled a few circles there, but I'm getting kind of hyped to rewatch a bunch of AT episodes now. Just wanted to share some maybe partly coherent thoughts I've been having.
I missed Ice King SO. DAMN. MUCH! He's been absent for the past two seasons (understandably, it's not like there is much room to develop him now except turning him back to Simon - something I want to avoid as long as possible), I start almost each episode in the next batches being disappointed by realizing he would be focused again. So just his presence alone was enough to make Elements for me - and I was particularly happy with the possibility of his conclusion being people accepting him as he is instead of reverting him back to what he was millennia ago.
But the whole season is being amazing. After Stakes I wasn't really excited about the miniseries, but Island was AT at its finest.
Watched it. Loved it. I have to sort my feelings on Betty. I wish we get the development on the princecess before the ending.

On actual tv or the damned app?
Either way its on the internet.

I haven't watched since Eleements so I have a bit of catch up.
I hate watching tv on a computer. I pay for cable, I have a nice big tv, its how I prefer to watch my shows.
Sounds like you need a HDMI cable.
Yes you pay for cable but the networks don't care about that.
If you have a PS3 or PS4, those'll have an HDMI cable, you should be able to just hook that from the tv to your computer and get it on the big screen.
"The First Investigation" was a really solid episode all round. As much as I been enjoying the show since Season 7 started bringing things back on track, I missed when episodes felt this full and compete with the idea they were going for.
Whelp, all caught up again.
I guess they can wrap up the Gumbald plotline and do one more big Lich story in that time, and all his multiverse hands, and they've done okay getting back to some things but there's still got sooo much to resolve and get back to, I'm really curious to see how they manage.
Ice King going back to Simon is the biggie but at this point it feels like that might not actually be their final direction with that.
Remaining big plot threads from reddit
! 1- The Rising: For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, the Rising is an unknown event the Grass Demon hums about at the end of Two Swords. Given how prominent Fern and the Emissary from Beyond were, though, it's extremely likely this will be addressed during or after the Gumbald plot line.
! 2- The Lich: Following the events of Crossover, there is a Lich hand in every single dimension of the multi-world; not only that, but those hands are revealed in Whispers to be sentient, autonomous, and fully intentioned to spread destruction. Given that the Lich's hand in Whispers wa dealt with rather quickly (in 1 episode), this is one of the points I'm afraid will not be solved by the end of the series, possibly because of time constraints (the multiplication of the Lich's hand in Crossover was quite explicit, which suggests the writers might have hoped to be able to use it in the future).
! 3- Jake's interdimensional dad: I'm not too sold on how quickly Jake went back to his yellow form, but that aside, we still know nothing about the demon that impregnated Joshua, or the dimension it comes from. I could understand if, due to the relatively few episodes left, the writers chose to close that chapter with Jake's acceptance of his new form and ignorance about his origins… but I do hope he and we'll find out more.
! 4- Magic Woman/Betty: This might be considered minor, but I do hope we'll find out what happened to her after the Elements miniseries. When we last saw her, she seemed as though she was about to stand trial at the hands of Normal Man.
! 5- Ice King: Possibly connected to the Betty storyline, and maybe even necessary to address from a narrative point of view (though not, I would say, from an emotional one), is the matter of what will be of Simon in the future. Will he remain what he is now? Will he turn into the abomination we saw in Graybles 1000+?
! 6- Fionna and Cake's universe: Probably the least relevant of the loose ends in this thread, and one that some might say was already tied up by the end of Fionna and Cake and Fionna with a comedic twist... but after all that meta, I really want to know what the heck Fionna and Cake are, and why they are beamed into Ice King's melonheart while he sleeps.
! 7- Martin's fate: I was wrong, this is the least relevant point on the list. Following the events of The Comet, he was turned into a deity, whatever that may imply, and disappeared. We never saw him since, despite his being mentioned from time to time. I wouldn't mind learning more about his plane of existence. Also, it would not suck to discover what Martin's cosmic crime was (Sarcastic_Username18).
! 8- GOLB: Oh. My. Glob. This is what I want to know about the most, and by far. GOLB has always been present in the lore of Adventure Time, ever since Puhoy. Its malevolence and absolute powers, which exceed even Grob Gob Glob Grod's, were heavily implied in You Forgot Your Floaties. This might all be subsumed under the label of mere lore if it weren't for what the Lich declares in Whispers, a moment that still gives me the chills:
I am a ceaseless wheel. I am the last scholar of GOLB.
Holy smokes. Are we to see the Lich, someone even Death is afraid of, as a mere apprentice? And what does it mean now that there is a part of the Lich in every dimension? Could The Rising have anything to do with GLOB?
! 9- Maja the Sky Witch and APTWE (Leusid): After the elephant started taking care of comatose Maja, they have made at least one other appearance in the show, and it would be a little odd if they just disappeared like that.
! 10- Prismo's boss (gvonc33): In Crossover, Prismo states - and emphasizes - he has a boss, whose identity is still unknown. Odd I forgot, since I completely freaked out at the time.
! 11- Dr. Gross and Tiffany (Sarcastic_Username18): I had completely forgotten about them. We all know dying offscreen does not count as dying.
! 12- Nightmare Juice: The potion Nightmare Princess gives Finn in The Orb. If I recall correctly, it hasn't been used yet.
! 13- Is this the end of this world, which I chose among all others: this, or something to that effect, is the line LSP utters when she sees the candified and firified inhabitants of Ooo fight each other. Does that mean that the Lumpy Space is a dimension through which every timeline and universe can be accessed?
Yeah, that's a lot. No way we're getting all of that at this point. 3, Jake's other dad, is getting adressed now as of the last episode. I don't think 7, 10 or 11 need to get back to at least. Not to mention among the hundreds of little character plots. We'll just have to see I guess.
Still hoping that the movie would be made to give Adventure Time the sendoff it needs. I wanna see how a big budget film would look like with the style and storylines in a 2 and a half hour animated film?
Here's the promo for the series finale eps:
Hope you're ready for this thing to go underadvertised, and maybe farted out onto the app without ceremony!
