It says Tsujimoto (MH Producer) has entered the 'Kanpa' (short for Conference) to deliver a large 'Apple' (DLC, Update).
It's slated at a time between today and tomorrow.
Wonder if it's Nintendo-based.

I knew unexpected things were coming, but this one takes it up to eleven.
Eyyyy, it's been confirmed for the ambiguous summer, wondering if it's going to be very soon like Lunastra and Kulve Taroth.
Looking forward to some unique weapon designs and more armor.
No idea what that crystal thing is about, is that something from Final Fantasy?
Seems to be hinting at a new area or structure we can enter.
I've been wondering something. Oroshi Kirin is an ice elemental palette swap of the original Kirin, yet it still hasn't been added to the game and it was featured in that pre release list. The only reason I can think why is because an eventual new snowy map is coming along.
A new map would be amazing and would give some new lower tier monsters since everything newly released and projected has been threat tier 2 or higher.
No idea how they're going to handle such an update if they are going to do it in the base game, since it's believed to be reserved for an expansion, along with subspecies of the new monsters and a higher rank.
Here's hoping that they diversify the remaining updates they've planned for the sales success of the game.
But I could see Oroshi Kirin being available on Coral Highlands and a new map…
Did enjoy Arch Tempered Kirin, and hope Arch Tempered Vaal Hazak keeps me on my toes, even if it doesn't gain any new moves.
Just thinking of a G-Rank Arch Tempered Kirin with some electric static fields or some crazy new lightning patterns with heightened aggression would be fantastically challenging.
Just realized Behemoth has the Zinogre skeleton. Even the howl is very reminiscent. And it appears to also harness control over thunder element.
Guess Behemoth was yesterday's big announcement. Which is cool, just muted somewhat by all the spoilers.
It's pretty big since before this, Monster Hunter collabs at most only gave variants of their own monsters that resembled something like the Colossal Titan Deviljho and Evangelion Brachydios.
What's got me curious is whether this is going to be a big part of the summer event that's speculated (due to craftable fireworks people have noticed in game) or will it be in addition to another monster during the event.
There's probably more to the event and I wonder if Behemoth is going to appear on other maps/have Deviljho-esque interactions with other monsters.
Behemoth is slated for Summer. Can be July or August, but I can mostly assure you it won't be this month, because otherwise they would have already given the date.
For this month we're getting either Oroshi Kirin or Alatreon.
The official website states that Title Update 4 is indeed the collab Behemoth, so I'm going to believe they wouldn't release either of those before it unless they make the current or next Title Update a two-fer.
Well, this changes things then. Maybe this time we're getting more than one new monster.
EDIT:
Wait a sec… The Update 4.0.0 already happened with Lunastra!
EDIT:
Wait a sec… The Update 4.0.0 already happened with Lunastra!
Title Updates start with Deviljho (1), Kulve Taroth (2), and Lunastra (3)
I can see how it's confusing with Lunastra also being Version 4.0.0
Come to think of it, Kirin is the only Elder Dragon that doesn't have a proper cutscene. Because every new monster that has been added to the game comes with its own cinematic intro, this has lead me to further suspect that Oroshi Kirin hasn't been added yet because of the rumored snowy area.
That and the announcement of the Behemoth has thrown people off their tracks, as this monster wasn't even in the leaked list.
Still haven't had the chance to face off with Arch Tempered Vaal Hazak, but I just found out that the fucker sleeps in the freaking ACID POOL. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, ranged players are going to have a really bad time with this thing.
Managed to finish gathering the seven Arch Tempered Vaal tickets with investment in guard, divine protection and health restoration to combat the Effluvia and Vaal's heavy, heavy hits.
Only wiped completely 3 times, but of the seven fights I won I managed two runs without carting.
Pretty much every fight lasted more than 30 minutes with my survival oriented build.
Really learned to appreciate the many torch pods that I'd use to create a Effluvium free zone and used to create burning areas for that big damage sponge to soak in.
The new Vaal is really jumpy, isn't it? Even in solo. It still flinches a lot but never really gets knocked down when I use Dual Blades. I got a few 10 minute runs but Odogaron has been ruining things lately and I can't get it under that time yet.
Then I tried cheesing him with Cluster Bombs and I can't do it without refilling ammo twice. I'm also missing a bunch of shots because he doesn't stay in one spot. So that takes about 7 minutes doing it the boring way.
I don't understand the conditions for when his effluvia is at crazy levels. It'll just seem to randomly kick in out of nowhere. And then depending on where you are on the map, the tick damage gets crazy if you're not regenerating with a health augment. The gear isn't as good as Kirin's imo. I'm looking forward to different arch-tempered dragons, because the armor is going to be even more overpowered than Lunastra. Imagine some Nergigante gear with attack/agitator boosts and crazy slots. Then there's Kushala and Teostra with Handicraft and Weakness Exploit respectively. Apparently you can only flash Arch Tempered monsters just once? That's gonna be hell for the other ones if we get them.
I just completed all my Optional quests. That one I had was the Lunastra and Teostra fight. Lunastra is so damn annoying even with a heat resistance build.
I had only gotten to try the Arch Val like twice. People just kept getting killed and even though we had the effluvial resistance and expert stuff we were getting killed. Then stupid Odie shows up…Ugh. are the arc sets even worth the hassle? I couldn't get Arch Kirin done either.

I believe the Effluvia stacking is a result of triggering moves where Vaal spreads it, overlapping with previous releases.
Fighting the regular tempered version after it is a cake walk with the build I was using, and a majority of its attacks don't even put out Effluvia, or it isn't noticeable.
If there's any fight I'm not looking forward to, it's Arch-Tempered Kushala with deadlier tornadoes and higher HP.
May have to learn a ranged weapon for that one…

The gamma armor sets seem to have a really high armor cap and plenty of points focusing on specific skills with higher level gem slots.
Kirin Breakdown:
! Alpha: Marathon Runner 3, Divine Blessing 3, Thunder Atk 3, Thunder Res 2, Free Element 3, Blight Res 1, no slots
Beta: Marathon Runner 2, Divine Blessing 2, Thunder Atk 2, Free Element 2, Blight Res 1, 9 L1 slots
Gamma: Marathon Runner 2, Thunder Atk 5, Free Element 3, Blight Res 3, 1 L3 slot, 3 L2 slots, 4 L1 slots
! Direct changes from Beta:
Marathon Runner from Head to Coil + 1 L1 slot
Free Element + 2 L1 slots from legs to Jacket, no change
! Changes in slot values:
Beta: Divine Blessing 2 + Thunder Atk 2 + Blight Res + 9 L1 slots == 14 L1 slots
Beta: Marathon Runner 2 == 2 L2 slots
Beta: Free Element 2 == 2 L3 slots
! Gamma: Thunder Atk 5 + Blight Res 3 + 4 L1 slots == 12 L1 slots
Gamma: Marathon Runner 2 + 3 L2 slots == 5 L2 Slots
Gamma: Free Element 3 + 1 L3 slot == 4 L3 slots
! Gamma Gains: 2 L3 slots, 3 L2 slots
Trade Offs: No innate Divine Blessing, -2 L1 slots
Kirin Gamma especially has been a major improvement over its limited coverage/slots, with only one piece on its beta set (free element 2 + 2 L1 slots) matching a gamma piece, and all others being more valuable than its (admittedly horrible) Beta set.
Also got rid of the pointless Thunder Res on its Alpha gear, for that amazing Thunder Res + Thunder Atk synergy on armor with high thunder res values…
Vaal Hazak Breakdown:
! Alpha: Peak Perform 3, Dragon Atk 4, Rec. Speed 3, Effluvia Res 3, 4 L1 slots
Beta: Peak Perform 3, Rec. Speed 2, Effluvia Res 2, 10 L1 slots
Gamma: Peak Perform 2, Dragon Atk 5, Rec. Speed 3, Rec. Up 3, 4 L3 slots, 2 L2 slots, 3 L1 slots
! Too many changes to reference direct changes.
! Changes in slot values
Beta: Rec. Speed 2 + Effluvia Res 2 + 10 L1 slots == 14 L1 slots
Beta: Peak Perform 3 == 3 L2 slots
! Gamma: Dragon Atk 5 + Rec. Speed 3 + Rec. Up 3 + 3 L1 slots == 14 L1 slots
Gamma: Peak Perform 2 + 2 L2 slots == 4 L2 slots
Gamma: 4 L3 slots
! Gamma Gains: 4 L3 and 1 L2 slots
Trade Offs: No innate Effluvia Res.
Vaal Hazak dropped its "make-a-set-to-fight-me-better" nonsense and fully supports its set bonus for pure sustain.
The main changes allow you to have Peak Performance on 2 different pieces than before and access to higher level slots, instead of only L1 slots.
The only turnoff to either of the Gamma sets are the full points in elemental attack, since few weapons have enough elemental power to not reach a cap.
And you avoid that by mixing with other armors as needed, since they're either a straight buff to the gamma set or open up different combinations, whether or not you want their set bonuses.
I started playing Monster Hunter World a week ago. I'm still trying out weapons to find out which i like most but so far i prefer the more "mobile" weapons like the Dual Blades. I tried the Insect Glaive yesterday and it's also really fun. Although i don't know how that Kinsect works yet …
It's a really good game and i'm enjoying it a lot more than the beta that i tried before the release. I heard it gets even better after you reach stronger monsters (i'm just Level 3 right now) and really have to be prepared for specific fights which was'nt necessary so far, so ... looking forward to it!

I do wish the Vaal Gamma set had some Effluvia Resistance, but maybe they wanted it to seem less specialized that way? The Kirin gear has some good pieces with Free Element, which is good for ranged weapons and a few Kulve melee stuff as well. The Vaal gear doesn't seem as useful to me besides using it against specifically against him, most notably the recovery speed to counteract the tick damage.
The elemental attack isn't too ideal but it's not like the Kirin or Vaal set bonuses are that useful. So just use the piece or two that really stands out. None of the elders have particularly useful bonuses besides Lunastra and Xenojiva, neither of which I expect to be Arch Tempered. Although Razor Sharp/Free Shot with better slots sounds pretty damn amazing.

For the Insect Glaive, you want to target different parts of the monster with the Kinsect to collect the 3 colored extracts. Collecting both the white and red extracts opens up some combos for the weapon and your damage output goes up significantly. The only catch is that the buff is only temporary and you have to collect the extracts again, which can be a problem against more mobile monsters.
The game is fairly addicting; I've played a little bit (or a lot) almost every weekend since it came out 5 months ago. There's still some weapon types I want to use more so I'll be playing a while longer too. If you're already enjoying the game, it'll get better as the game expands and you're able to do more. I remember flying through the early game seeing all the new monsters. Good times.

Nah, Effluvia Resistance makes it only useful against Vaal Hazak and doesn't incentivize you to its armor against any other monster, unless they introduce a subspecies/new mon with such an effect in an update/expansion.
It makes sense defensively that it would resist its own ailment, but look at poor Odogaron's set with bleeding resistance and how useful that is outside of fighting him… until you get 3 bleed resist gems and just use a better set...
I know I'll definitely try out pieces from the Kirin Gamma set while capturing some of the tempered mons I haven't completed charms for, to farm Gems and streamstones/decorations I'm still missing, now that it has higher base armor and more useful to slot up.
Vaal's set bonus synergizes with its Gamma armor skills, and I think you should give it a shot with a HP on-hit augmented weapon against other monsters.
I want to try it with Heroics and Latent Power, but still have gotten any of those gems ><

Dual Blades are great starter weapons (and pretty good solo ones). Maybe a little simple, but every once in a while you get one of those sliding-downhill pirouetting spin attacks down the full length of a Deviljho and it will keep you coming back for more.
Behemoth launches Summer August as part of the next update. First official gameplay goes live July 15th.
Damn, Behemoth is so biiiig. Those wide arms are so intimidating and powerful, though they mostly showed him roaring lightning and raining meteors.
Sadly it looks like it may be on its own, but I'm stoked to see him in action on the 15th gameplay stream.
I would wager a guess that crystal wielding Kulu Ya-Ku won't be dropping his newfound weapon until you beat him or down him, probably will be a one-time deal like the Luna/Deviljho special event quests.
He's got muscles like Rajang except he's as big as a house. I'll attempt to avoid watching any gameplay so I can get a nice blind run.
this game is still so good
@F13rC:
probably will be a one-time deal like the Luna/Deviljho special event quests.
Doubtful, it has its own cinematic intro. I could be wrong, but I think this upgrade for Kulu is going to be a permanent thing after the update.

I should have phrased that better, I agree that I don't think it'll disappear.
I meant to say you probably can't refight it, unless they treat it different than previous special assignments/story quests that lock after completion.
They could give him a random chance to dig up crystals after or bring it back as an event quest, which I'd be fine with, that's fun.
That I agree. I guess it can be a random thing.
But more importantly… just when we thought the Gajalaka were a pain in the ass, here come the Cactuar.
Here's the bulk of what you need to know about Behemoth.
Is there a guide listing the best weapon for each monster ?
After watching Behemoth get solo'd without a Palico gives me determination that I'll be able to beat it too… if I don't time out with my defensive build.
Aside from that, Arch Tempered Teostra, Kushala and Extreme Behemoth have all been announced.
It's soloable. Like any other monster. To triumph you only need the same as always: strategy, learn the monster patterns, and time your attacks and dodges properly.
Speaking of which, they managed to make Kulu an Elder Dragon threat level. The bastard even casts Heal magic on itself, that crystal really is something.

The Kulu Yaku was far less annoying than any phase of Behemoth with minds eye or attracting the Barroth and Anjanath to distract it.
Honestly, Behemoth wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for those tornadoes.
Got to its third stage dropping safety rocks a few times, but it times out before the transition to the final phase.
I think I'm going to wait until I have a better set-up before I can finish the quest proper.
It is crazy weak to dragon element, as my bonelance defensive build matches the output from my all-out Odogaron crit build.
Just need more lance streamstones to get my health augment on my Deviljho lance…
At least the Drachen Gear can be obtained with the Palico Plunderblade and breaking the horns, tail and claws.
Really want that armor for its skills and set bonuses, just need a few more hornbreaks and tailbreaks
I tried Dual Blades against him solo and ran out of time. I got him limping but since he uses the wind attack in the last phase, I knew it would be difficult to finish. Those attacks stay on the map WAYYYY too long for my liking. It feels like they last longer than Kushala's. I might try again but there's a chance I resort to using cluster bombing :ninja:
Also, you can dodge the meteor with the FF jump gesture. I'm 1/1 on my attempts so far, but maybe that was beginner's luck.
Flash pods will stop Behemoth from casting Charybdis. Also, I do recommend if you intend to solo it, that you focus all your attacks on its front legs, then hit the head when it falls down. Dragon element works wonders, more so than water.
Apparently getting a mount allows you to stay on Behemoth preventing him from attacking unless his horns are broken, which will stagger him and knock you down.
If enough damage is done to him during the 2nd and 3rd phases while the mountee sticks to him, he will immediately drop comets and then summon Ecliptic meteor, meaning he won't have a chance to destroy your cover.
It's best to get a mount with a weapon that won't eat up your stamina beforehand (cries in lance) and to have skills that allow you to mount faster and prevent stamina from falling fast (raise stamina cap, horn buffs, felyne rider, mounting master, dash juice, latent power).
Unfortunately, I can't make use of any of that unless I play with a Palico Rally set and grab a Gajalaka sniper, hoping it survives the first stage since running to get it once stage 2 starts means letting Behemoth heal (the most annoying thing solo).
However, another gimmicky thing to do is to lure Behemoth under a collapsible crystal in the first area and make it fall to sleep, plant bombs, then drop the rocks for massive damage (3k+).
I'm def going to test these strategies after I level up my Palico's Meowlotov Cocktail… though it might not be as good solo as with a team.
I didn't know the damage thresholds worked like this. I just assumed if you loaded up on damage in the first area that he would just hit-and-run in the last 3 areas. Or maybe that's what happens if you don't get enough damage in?
A few observations people have noticed:
This behavior is not new. There's another monster out there that adopts same stances: Zinogre. And coincidence or not, it also happens to be a mammal with canine features and horns.
What I'm saying is that Behemoth skeleton could be used for that monster. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say the Zinogre skeleton was used for Behemoth.
It's evident that Behemoth does share a lot of similarities with Nergigante/Xeno'Jiva, and most Redditors agree that they all share the Gore Magala skeleton.
Zinogre and Behemoth share a very similar posture (wide forearms and smaller hind legs), they seem to have a very similar upright roar and spin-in place animation, but not much else in common.
Similarities between the Gore Skeleton (GS):
! Stationary weak paw swipes (Nerg, Behemoth, Xeno)
Earth dragging arm sweep (Nerg, Behemoth)
Knockdown animation (Gore, Nerg, Behemoth)
Upright Stance (All)
Roar (Nerg, Behemoth, Xeno, Zinogre?)
Aerial Divebomb (Gore, Nerg, Xeno)
Aerial Swipe (Gore, Xeno)
Tail slam (Nerg, Xeno)
Tail swerve (Gore, Nerg)
Breath Attacks (Gore, Xeno)
Standing into heavy arm slam into ground with big aoe (All)
Standing then slamming both arms into ground (Gore, Behemoth, Xeno)
Rushing with head tilted toward ground (Nerg, Behemoth)
Death animation (Nerg, Behemoth)
Death animation (Gore, Xeno)
! Note I may have missed some attacks since Mons aren't guaranteed to use all moves in the videos I watched.
Zinogre, unlike the mons sharing the Gore Skeleton attacks, seems to reposition with most of its attacks and flips/swerves in the air.
If Nerg had the same proportions as Behemoth/Xeno its roar matches right up.
Even with the same skeleton, there are slight deviations in a lot of the shared attacks, and each Mon has unique moves.
I don't think this discounts Zinogre and Behemoth from sharing a skeleton, but Zin was part of the GS family, it seems the MH team want Zinogre's moveset to be exclusive, as the two new types of Fanged Wyvern (Jagras/Girros/Dodogama/KT and Tobi/Odo) don't seem share any of its moves.
They managed to datamine the last update, and found data for a Halloween Festival among other things.
Oi, I need a recomendation:
I have a switch and a 2 year old laptop (nvidia around 900gx), and I want to try a monster hunter game.
The switch one or the pc one? anyone who has played both has any insight on wich should I play?
Depends of what you are looking for.
Traditional MH game with polished mechanics, graphics, quantity over quality, and limited maps with loading times in between areas, sometimes wacky, and with a wide diversity of hunting styles. Offline and online optional quests are split in two categories. DLC content is locked in the cartridge and made available at specific dates.
Or…
An immersive experience where you get to explore immense, vast, seamless maps which are packed with a great diversity of flora and fauna. Fast actionized system that cuts down on preptime and gets players into the action quicker. Freedom to change your equipment whenever you feel like. HD graphics that fill these environments with life. Monsters are full of detail, each with its own ecology and behavior. You can customize your Player Character with the many customizable options as you feel like. You can either wander in town or go on an expedition where you are free to hunt to your heart content, etc. Quests can either be completed alone or with friends, as the barrier that split offline and online missions is gone. In addition to all the stuff I've listed, World is receiving periodical free updates that add to an already long game. MHW represents the biggest overhaul in the story of the franchise and is Capcom's best selling game with 10 million copies sold worldwide.
The recommendation is clear as day; The choice, yours.
Well, there is the issue of the quality of the PC port, which I'm not sure how stable it is by this point.
But for a newcomer, think most everyone would recommend MHW. It's my GotY for 2018 by a pretty wide margin.
My Breakdown:
MH: Generations Ultimate has more monsters, with 93 large monsters total.
MH: World has 34 large monsters currently (PC will not have all the free DLC monsters at start), but it will likely grow a bit more, but not as much as GU.
Note that GU has more varied species and variants of monsters known as Deviants that change fights more than standard rare species/subspecies did in the past.
MH: GU has all three ranks of difficulty, meaning it has more armor set/weapon progression than World, as well as more unique models for weapons.
MH: W has a simpler armor skill system that allows you to get skills just for equipping a single piece instead of requiring a full set or mixed gear that plays to its strengths.
This has the cost of removing the potential for extremely amazing rare charms, but the benefit of taking out potential negative skills and complexity (unless you live for that).
Quality of life is king in MH: World when it comes to weapon fluidity, gathering, turf wars, environmental damage and item access in combat, but with the styles of GU, you lose out on many moves for your weapons.
Admittedly, some of those changes make it into the default weapon moves in World, but not the most impressive, satisfying ones.
You gain the benefits of mantles in World, but they make the game exceedingly easy.
GU has less quests scaled for solo play, meaning teaming up will be more important as you progress into the higher ranks.
Solo play will be easier in World, as all quests aside from Arena, Behemoth and Kulve Taroth have both single player and multiplayer scaling.
You can solo everything in both games, but with G Rank will be more demanding.
A lot more information is available about the monsters (weaknesses, breakable parts, visible damage numbers, drop tables) in game if you play World and investigations make farming for parts go by so much faster.
This can be a problem since you'll have made all the weapons/armors (which there aren't as many of) really fast and then it's how much you enjoy the game vs. the feeling of having somewhere to progress.
I feel that World loses out just a tad since it doesn't have as much diversity as GU, but you can enjoy World more casually until the next World (be it expansion or new title) is announced.
All-in-all, both games can spoil you in ways the other can't.
Allright Worlds is the candidate, thanks guys.

Mine is the 950.. and the other one is the minimun required, damn.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Yah, I'm a nomad, I either am a console gamer or I prepare to expend some money.
I'm running it on PC with a worse card (GeForce 940M) at the lowest graphics settings.
Going to upgrade when I get to the states, but I have had a graphics crash and some stuttering before I updated my drivers.
Have not gotten to Teostra or Elder's Recess, where some lightning (environmental and from weapons) and blast powders are said to be very detrimental to the framerate.
