nakaba art so good
And I definitely need more Demon!Gowther in this manga. Ever since Doll!Gowther decided to get his emotions back he was just ruined for me (it didn't ruin the character objectively, just made him lose his appeal to me specifically).
congrats on calling gowther being behind the fuzzy memory thing.

Nothing in particular, just a luck guess.
My hunch for know is that Estarossa is in reality Mael, Gowther Sr made a universal spell, for lack of a better term, that created a middle child into the demon clan and infused it with memories of Zeldris to make him more believable, he somehow made Mael get rid of Sunshine in order for he could receive a commandment from the DK. Thinking that their strong fighter got killed would let the Goddess clan to the decision of sealing instead of genocide. Given the casualites of the war the DK rearranged the commandments given EstaMael "Love" under the premise that his middle child wasn't born with the power of darkness, give the power of this commandment if Gowther Sr placed a switch in EstaMael's mind he could turn how armies useless.
But that's just my wild speculation, let's see in two weeks the payoff.
I don't think so, or else Escanor vs Estarosa would have more punch or be weirdly personal for them. But that is a writing style contradiction, not plot contradiction.
Another thing, has Escanor ever been inflicted by any commandment?
It seems everybody was under gowther's spell but pariston_hill :-)

Unaffected by Truth, didn't lie or back down on his work.
Unaffected by Faith, speculation, doesn't lose faith in what he believes.
Unaffected by Love, only pities those beneath him.
Status against Repose and Patience unknown because we don't know what they do.

sigh Just saw a Facebook vs. Post between the 7 deadly sins and the Ginyu force. People voting for the Ginyu force "but ma planet busters!" Wtf lol.
I'm looking forward to seeing the explanation for Estarosa. Cause honestly I don't get why the author would add this plot point. I mean 3 brothers at odds seems pretty solid it's own its own..
! Estarossa is indeed Mael!
Give Pariston a godamn award.
Not yet, just spoilers.
! Everyone finally remembers who Estarossa actually is: none other than the archangel Mael, who was very jealous of Meliodas and Elizabeth relationship. At the end of the chapter, Estarossa grows his wings back.

puts crack pipe down God Damn pariston_hill why can you predict fictional characters an plots almost word for word but not the lottery numbers.
Wait is this one of those moments , I feel like I'm ascending to a higher form…like a goat.

Why? That was easy to see coming after all the hints.

He started early, maybe after just the first hint.

When do you consider the 1st hint? I started when suspecting something was up when Zeldris master revealed something was off about him. It grew even more when Nakaba revealed Mael had Sunshine. Then Monspiet mentioned him having no darkness despite being the DK son it clicked.
To bad you join just now to tell us :-)

It's nothing impressive don't know about this place. But people on other forums have been suspecting that twist for ages now.
Come on Lord don't try to rain on my parade, go read my prediction and then go read the summary of the chapter.

Thought it would be further back than that.
Sorry to disappoint you. Otherwise do you have interesting things to tell us from those other awesome forums ?

Well I was hoping for his 1st post talking about that twist. No can't say I do.

Estarossa was the dog's name, Mael can't stopped being owned.
That double page was really neat, Nakaba deserves praise for this chapter, the foreshadowing and the reveal were pretty cool.

Hmm. I keep getting a disallowed character notice when I try to view their website.
Found it elsewhere. Interesting….
Oh wow, neat twist
Who has Melasculas (or her sin) right now?

Merlin i guess, the exchange with Zeldris was left undone.

Wanna hear something interesting? If you take out the last syllabe of Estaros-sa and chain it with Mael, what do you get?
Woa! What's next on your cristal ball pariston?
I'm a bit confused with this twist: the spell was powerful enough to make Mael himself to believe he's Estarrosa?
There is still the connection with Escanor out of all of this. And who was "The Love" during the ancient war.

It was powerful enough to overwrite Mael memories and affect the memories of everyone that met him, included the demon king and the supreme deity. He mostly changed the characters on Mael memories, Ludo for Meliodas, grey demons for weird godesses with masks, etc. The only shortcomings the spell has are that it killed Gowther himself and that once someone doubts the overwritten memories the spell starts falling apart.

Esteros Mael… I don't quite understand.
Esteros Mael… I don't quite understand.
samael is the name of an archangel, usually depicted as the angel of death
He meant Samael.
Ah gotcha! Now I see.
So does this mean Seven Deadly Sins is secretly a Wheel of Time spinoff?

Ok, but the spell affected even the memory of the very same Mael (the memory he has of who he is) making him to believe he's a demon instead of an angel… Otherwise Mael wouldn't have played well his demon role
So uh…
Gowther erased everyone's memories about Mael to force the gods to seal themselves along the demons. Mael gained darkness powers, happened to look just like an older Meliodas just because and can absorb the demon king commandments and meanwhile Escanor gained his sun powers?
Nakaba has a lot of explaining to do in the next chapter

I'm pretty sure that's Azrael.

Yeap. Don't understand that
I'm pretty sure that's Azrael.
Angel hierarchy is pretty much all apocrypha, you can feat any angel any where and still be consistent.
There is still the connection with Escanor out of all of this. And who was "The Love" during the ancient war.
Meliodas was the former holder, he answered that in a Q/A that mangastream probably didn't translate.

Let me try:
Gowther erased everyone's memories about Mael to force the gods to seal themselves along the demons.
This part is ok.
Mael gained darkness powers, happened to look just like an older Meliodas.
I say it's part of a coincidence and part of Gowther's Sr. keikaku, to the lie be believable Mael had to look like one of the DK's sons, but i don't think he could do a total makeover on Mael so he just made a few adjustments in order for him to look like an older Mel, because again he could not de-age Mael.
can absorb the demon king commandments
As far as we can infer, he could grant one to anything. Meras wasn't even a demon before absorbing Demon Realms miasma
meanwhile Escanor gained his sun powers?
Don't got anything on the hows of it, it would probably be left to Escanor's gaiden.
As far as we can infer, he could grant one to anything. Meras wasn't even a demon before absorbing Demon Realms miasma
Let's not forget Gloxinia and Dolor, also members of other races just like Mael, who were granted commandments and officially became members of the 10C even though in their case it was not a secret they weren't of the demon race.
Damn no wonder it's called the goddess clan. If weren't for the SG the clan would be nothing. Can't say the same for the demon clan.
NOw i need to reread that Estarossa vs Escanor.
All they could remember about Estarossa was his name and his appearance. But when they tried to remember further back, nothing would come out. The man known as Estarossa never existed in first place. Elizabeth who had the largest amount of memories of Mael was the catalyst that broke the spell.
This is arguably the biggest plot twist in the series, I don't think Nakaba can top that.
Wait , but who was the first one to notice something wrong?
It wasn't Elizabeth, right? Monspiet?
