Even if we never saw the Mainframe crew, I'd watch a new series starring computer characters in a different city. I need a pick-me-up:

So, anyone brave enough to give a review? Maaaaaybe its not that bad…

I'll watch it later today. The summary on Wikipedia sounds exactly like VR Troopers.
I saw the first epispde. I don't expect I'll be motivated to keep watching.
Here are my live, unfiltered impressions:
! 1.) This show reeks of Power Rangers.
! 2.) They go to Alan Turing High. That's kind of hilarious.
! 3.) Except for the vlogger girl, the entire main cast so far are stereotypes. There's the squeeing asian fangirl (yes, really), the black guy who's great at basketball (yes… really), and the nerd who obsesses over grindy mobile games.
! 4.) A new stereotype joins the crew: the too-cool-to-care because he's deeply afraid that he won't live up to his father's legacy kid.
! 5.) The bad guy is a hacker who thinks he's Emperor Palpatine.
! 6.) This show's Alpha is really boring and lifeless.
! 7.) I think vlogger girl was supposed to be a goth/punk stereotype, but the acting is so bad that I didn't notice at first.
! 8.) Vlogger girl, cool kid and nerd boy get normal looking avatars while the black kid gets a big hulking muscle suit akin to Knuckles from Sonic Boom. Starting to think this show might be kinda racist.
! 9.) The fighting in this show is really boring.
! The live action segments are really "so bad it's good", so I think I'll watch a few more episodes just for those.
Edit: after watching ep 1 I skipped to ep 10 (the only episode with the original series crew).
It was one of the most painful, insincere pieces of pandering garbage I've ever seen.
Edit 2: because I'm a glutton for punishment, I decided to watch episode 2 anyway.
Eight minutes in there's a trans bathroom joke.
Edit 3: Someone on Discord shared this with me:
!
If that's true, wow!
Never crossed my mind Guardian Code needed to be cutting edge. Fans watched for the story and characters. I wanna know what he told people who thought fans wanted resolution to the cliffhanger. How'd he justify that?
internet searches later
I believe it.

This guy has no faith in animation (basically why he went part live action) yet wants to win more prestige creating high-tech CGI. And no season five because we deserve a new reboot free of continuity. Confirms more than ever in my mind showrunners/creators can make or break any series reboot.
Thanks for that Roboblue. Seems to tie together disparate info I've been hearing regarding older animators jumping at the chance to work on their baby again and…what we got.

They did actually resolve the cliffhanger… sort of.
! The physical Mainframe computer was found turned off, and they turned it back on. Megabyte was laying unconscious behind a building somewhere, the hacker gave him an upgrade and he flew off.
We may as well call the new series Reboot GT.
