Don't forget four animal heads with wings. Man people could come up with such great angel designs if the actually knew about their on religious background lore.
Those were the Cherubi if I am not mistaken.

Thinking of starting catching up to this series how's the anime compared to the manga?
Noticed on the cover that Elizabeth is looking exactly like Melascula with her new hair and that kept bothering me through the whole chapter.
@Long:

They changed a thing or two to the point they almost had to rewrite the story in Season 2.
These angels are something fresh, must admit. At the moment, i'm liking their way to do things.
Something is telling me part of the reason Dreyfus is so cautious with the Archangels unlike Hendy is because of Fraudrin.
He said that himself. Hendi has no need to be brainwashed apparently but Dreyfus could help him realize something is fishy
The scene between Elisabeth and her father was really touching
Summary for ch253:
! Elizabeth's at the castle and says "Wait… Meliodas." King and Diane sit by the bed of an unwell Elaine. The Fairy wants Ban and Captain back. Merlin talks with Gowther while fixing his body. Gowther has a request and Merlin hears it but his line isn't shown but that got Merlin to ask him if he's serious. Escanor and Hawk discuss while walking in the town. Meanwhile, the Archangels are drunk. Ludociel uses a spell to get over it and notices a presence. Escanor then meets the same Archangel who asks him who he is. The Sin introduces himself. He then explains his power and proceeds to say it's a cursed power. This irritates Ludociel who attacks Escanor, asking him who it was that he took it from. A question that the Sin doesn't understand. The Archangel says that the graces are bestowed upon the Archangels by the Supreme Deity just like the commandments are to the Ten Commandments by the Demon King. His is "Flash", Sariel's is "Tornado", Tarmiel's is "Ocean" and Mael's is "Sunshine". Ludociel then asks Escanor to release the grace if he doesn't want to die. The Sin of Pride says that he was born with Sunshine, that the grace basically chose him. Escanor tells Ludociel he should thank him since he's on his side. The chapter ends with Ludociel saying Escanor will be useful and with the latter telling the former not to get in his way. Title of next chapter is "Camelot of despair".
Escanor was born with Mael's power.
About the spoiler
! While it makes sense, and fits with the multicultural aspect of the sins, it is akward to introduce Mael last chapter, whie he could have been introduced during the flashback, and reveal today his relationship with Escanor.
! Giant, Fairy, Cursed Human, Goddess reincarnation, Demon, Human blessed by gods and demons, and demon created puppet, and a glorious pig.
! I think the reveal is more impact full this way. And the exchange gave us two informations: Mael was Ludo's younger brother. So it was him that was refereed as Ludo's sacrifices in the Holy war. And we got, kinda of an explanation on what Sariel's power was during his fight with Monspiet and Derriere.
[The Chosen One intensifies]
I wonder what will be the Arthur connection it this. Will Excalibur house SD?
And what did Gowther asked? Is he planing on nuke himself in order to save his friends.
What's this author fixation on lolis, first Melodias an inmortal demon who is in love with a mortal, ever since she was a baby, it was later revealed that she was his lover for over 600 lives, so it was sweept away.
Then Ban and Elaine, who is an inmortal fairy with a prepubecent body.
And now Merlin, who was a kid all along, forever, and either is the mother or lover of Arthur, and there's the Escanor angle. Yeah, she has been alive at least since the war, but come on!
All that is left is to reveal that giants reach maturity in 1 year and that Diane is actually like 11.
Yeah Merlin's "true" form was a turn off for me.

god damn it, I hate Escanor

I don't mind Merlin x Escanor because Merlin is an adult in every aspect except her appearance, and that was not known by Escanor until one day ago (or less). In age she is an adult, in mind she is adult, maturity and whatever. She is only a child in the way she looks and it was not with that look that Escanor fell in love.
Diane x King, though… even though Diane was some centuries old when they first met, she was still a child. She could be old for a human, but in giant years she was still a child and that was clear in every aspect. She had both the body and the mind of a child and still King fell in love with her. I don't know why Nakaba didn't made King be a kid in that flashback as well, but well, too late now.
I like both Escanors very much, both Luigi and SSJLuigi, for different reasons.
Now, how does Estarosa fight Mael and now Escanor and didn't realize that it was the same power? Night ambush?
Maybe they didn't see his power in action, just heard reports. It stands to reason not many demons could have escaped alive after fighting him during daylight.
Or Escanor doesn't remember it. We've already seen he has issues with his memory.
Btw, it seems the chances of seeing Mael outside of a flashback just dropped drastically.

Love it, I'll keeping these nicknames from now on.
What is this kid Gowther is talking about ?
Esacanor is as cool as ever. It’s nice to see someone not bow to the goddess when there is certainly something fishy about it. The twist was nice too. Lot’s of questions raised during this chapter

I think that there is a mistake, the inconsistence is that Estarrosa didn't draw a connection between Mael and Escanor having both sun based powers
And also Escanor totally owned Estarossa, Mael shouldnt have been any weaker than him.
And also Escanor totally owned Estarossa, Mael shouldnt have been any weaker than him.
Complete guess work, but perhaps when sunshine is fully controlled, you can control how weak you get at night and as a consequence it lowers how strong you get the next day. For instance. If your base was 20,000 and you let yourself only go to 10,000 then afterwards you would only rise to 60,000. Basically saying that as low as you drop, you gain X times that the next day.
It is also possible that Escanor is just naturally more powerful that Mael was so his peak is greater, or that Escanor is more compatible with the power.
All guesses but fun to guess at.
What is this kid Gowther is talking about ?
r
It's probably Arthur since he was reading through Merlin's thoughts.
MS version is out, Gowther was talking about how Gowther Sr used to praise Merlin's capabilities.
And it seems that whatever Gowther intend is related to the sealing of the demon clan and Goddess loss of body.
Good chapter, but it always surprises me how both sides (demons and goddesses) barely know about the the skills of their enemies, even after having been in war for so long. The Ten Comandments didn´t seem to know about the graces back in the magic flashback and Estarossa got destroyed by the power of a guy he killed himself.
And I am curious about how will Merlin will react to the truth about Escanor´s power, also I like how Hawk gets along with Escanor both day and night, it´s a fun detail.

Sorry, wrote Escanor, meant Estarossa.
There's nothing indicating Estarossa should have known what exactly Mael's ability is. Maybe he knew only that he's too strong to beat during the day and attacked him during the night. He might have known that he has an OP ability without knowing the specifics of it. Too early to say there's any inconsistency. Especially given that Estarossa has some problems remembering things. Maybe Elizabeth isn't the only thing that's blurred out to him. Maybe what happened with Elizabeth has jogged his memory a little, and things will start getting back to him. We might even get a EvE rematch at some point.
Even on "The One" mode, Escanor wouldnt be able to do anything to harm Estarossa without his sin, pride. Unless, having the grace Sunshine goes with being an arrogant character as it approaches noon time.
Ch254 spoilers:
! Zeldris returns to the base and reports on the failure to obtain the Faith decree and the Archangels being a problem. We now see Galan thinking of things while still being petrified. Estarossa shows up and destroys the statue to acquire the decree. Then there's Arthur in Camelot. he quickly runs into a Grey Demon and has to flee only to notice Cath is gone. He has no idea that he's being watched by Peronia through a sort of gem. The cat that disappeared earlier reappears behind the Demon and says he's hungry. We then see him back to Arthur, leaving some parts of her uneaten. Arthur goes into the castle only to be asked by Zeldris who he is. The prince's might freezes him and Cusack has to repeat the question. Arthur introduces himself, which prompts Zeldris to walk to him. Cath makes a diversion to allow Arthur to escape. He arrives to the Holy Sword room. Afterwards, an explosion blows the entrance behind him and we see Zeldris, Cusack (who apparently did quick work of Cath) and Meliodas. The eldest son tells Arthur about his parting with the Seven Deadly Sins, which disheartens the young king who then pulls the sword saying he won't forgive Meliodas' actions.
! Damn you Estarossa you've gone to far killing Grampa Galan.

! Poor Shobu Yoruichi, he will be mourning the all week i guess. But it’s true it’s sad. Nakaba really want us to hate Estarossa
I can’t wait to see the cat in action

Chapter's out. Estarossa is a dick, news at 11.
Finally we will see why Arthur is the hope of Merlin.

Well, at least Galan had a good run, the guy would have died on his own in one or two centuries. And Arthur reaction to Meliodas betrayal isn´t weird or bad, but it lacked the "I saw you die" bit.
That fucking cat slime…
So, how many commandments are left to collect now? Melascula's from Merlin and co.?
Derriere and her boytoy.
Estarrosa can always go rouge.
They have at hand already Zeldris, Graylord, Dolor, Goloxina and Gowther/Fraudlin.
Estarrosa has his and Galan's.
Merlin still has Melasculia's (or Melasculias has it?)
That makes 10.
Thanks, I completely forgot about the farmer couple. And yeah, I totally think Estarossa will not make it easy on Meliodas. It has to be more complex, because I figure that killing the other 2 is not that hard and only having the SDS and company protect the last one from the demons is too simple. Too black and white. It needs more spice, and Estarossa can provide that, especially since he has been focused on quite a bit lately.

Yeap. I bet he's going to eat or whaever all the commandments and end up becoming the next demon king….
Ok, I'll do it
! "Fool. My legend dates back to the twelfth century you see. It began on a midsummers day with the sun blazing overhead. No, wait. It was a blustery Autumn day. I was the unsavoury fellow back when it all started. Which was in the winter as I recall. I remember the tough crowd, all the hot babes fought over me that summer. Yes. Yes that's right, it was summer. A scorching midsummer day. I was a dangerous man at the time. And yet, refined somehow. Everyone thought so. They still think so to this day. Although, maybe they didn't think so as much back then. But they definitely said I was dangerous, I'm sure of it…And I know I've always been refined so they must have been thinking it. Yes. Yes indeed. Everyone thought and said and talked about how amazing I was. I'm still amazing of course, but no longer the bad boy that I was back then. On that chilled, frozen winter day. I will continue the re-telling of my legend; But first, there will be a five minute break. Stand still and await my return."

That reminds me, never did finish Soul Eater. Too bad it started sucking terribly towards the end.

Part of me wants it to get the brotherhood treatment for the anime. But I still hated the way the series ended
The last interesting thing that happened was Crona taking charge of their life. After that is a random blurb of ink.
Soul Eater was one of those series that just ended out of nowhere leaving a lot of gaps left unfilled.
At the point where the Spider Witch appeared, I totally forgot what the series was all about.
See, aracne was well done, but I completely forgot about her, so while she was functional, she wasn't memorable.
Now the only thing that will give me the strength to keep reading this is inertia… and good close combat battles.

Manga. Only watched anime to see some fighting scenes.
Rarely watch anime these last couple of years. Manga are less time consuming.

I'm curious about the plot in regards to goddess queen and demon king, but I join you in cheering for the great side story about 'Garan the executioner'.
Soul Eater is one of the very rare cases an anime surpasses the manga, even if just for the fact Excalibur appears way more in the former. But I ended up dropping both certain of never going back (the anime in the Aracne arc because all the fun had vanished, the manga in the Book part because… well, it was just downright terrible by that point).
Indeed. outdeed.
Wut? Look, I know opinions are opinions, but in NO WAY is the anime better than the manga. Especially when it comes to its final arc. Though it helps that I enjoyed it to the very end, as opposed to others.
