General Fire Emblem Thread - At Least Mario Got a Funeral

After previously revealing Marth and Chrom, as well as original characters in the first batch, Koei Tecmo Games have posted a new information batch for Fire Emblem Warriors in today's Weekly Famitsu magazine. This batch introduces the key Fire Emblem Awakening characters shown in the Japan Expo trailer, and also the main Fire Emblem Fates characters introduced at E3. It also explains a bit of the Bond Level system, which is analogous to the Support Level system in mainline Fire Emblem games.
Characters
From Fire Emblem Awakening:- Robin: A mysterious person who was rescued by Chrom when he collapsed on the wayside. When he woke up, he already lost his memory. He has a natural talent in tactics, and he has been assisting Chrom in various strategies as his strategist. His class is Tactician, which is his first class in the original game. He will fight by using a magic book.
- Lissa: Chrom's sister, and also the princess of the halidom of Ylisse. She has a bright and innocent personality suitable for her age, and she always encourages her friends. Her first class in the original game was a Cleric which could heal allies' HP, but in this game, she wields an axe and fights on the frontlines by herself. Just like War Clerics in FE Awakening, she also excels in close-range combat while being a healer.
- Lucina: Chrom's daughter who comes from the future world. In the early parts of the story, she claimed to be the legendary hero Marth. Since [the real] Marth from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon also appears in this game, we are wondering on whether she'll have conversations with him.
- Frederick: Chrom's retainer, and the vice-captain of the Shepherds. He's a wise man with a humble way of speaking, but he also has a flaw in being too serious. In FE Awakening he could use various weapons, but in this game, he will fight with an axe.
From Fire Emblem Fates:
- Corrin: The protagonist of Fire Emblem Fates. In the original game the gender could be chosen between male or female, but in this game, she will appear as a female. Her fighting style is using the Yato blade, and she can also transform into a dragon.
- Ryoma: The high prince of the kingdom of Hoshido, and Corrin's elder brother. He is the only Swordmaster who can use the high-powered sword Raijinto, and he fights against the kingdom of Nohr with his siblings.
- Xander: The high prince of the kingdom of Nohr, who was raised together with Corrin in their childhood. He is a Paladin who wields an exclusive weapon, the Siegfried.
Gameplay
You may have noticed that although Robin and Frederick's classes allowed usage of multiple weapon types in the original FE Awakening game, in Fire Emblem Warriors they will only use Magic and Axe respectively. According to Famitsu, characters in this game will get to use one weapon type from Sword, Axe, Spear et cetera.
We also learned about the Bond Level in this article. When a character fights together with another character in the battlefield, the bonds with each other will gradually deepen, which is visible with a heart mark popping up above the character. When enough bonds have been accumulated, the Bond Level will increase after the battle has ended. Once the Bond Level has been maxed, a special Bond Conversation between the two characters will occur.
This week's batch also explained a part of a storyline event. In the Japan Expo trailer, you may have noticed that Chrom's body suddenly glows and releases blue lights. These lights would afterward gather to form a blue orb which is then placed on the kingdom of Aytolis' Shield of Flames.
Fire Emblem Warriors will be released for Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS on September 28th in Japan, and later this fall in North America and Europe. -
Just finished Echoes
! God-fucking-damn Berkut and Duma were hard. Berkut took out Zeke and then I lost three of my guys to Duma. All I can say is I'm glad I played it on casual. And, yeah, maybe that makes me a wuss, but I don't care. I feel like this was meant to be played on casual.
! Still, fun game. -
YES, my dream has come true.
we getting the double Mercer special -
Hot Matthew Mercer on Matthew Mercer action!
-
This post is deleted!
-
It's the special Ike, Lyn, Lucina and Floyd costumes, isn't it?
-
Doesn't really matter what it is, the chances of getting things are still so stupidly low that more than half the characters might as well not exist.
Nope, I still haven't summoned Lyn. ( -_-;)
-
My luck has been weird.
Rolled several times on the Summer banner trying to get Gaius, and I now have every single person in that banner except Gaius.
Rolled once on the Celica's army banner trying to get Leon, and I got Leon.
-
And I got 2 Maes on the Tempest Trials Banner but not a single Delthea.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Nohrian Summer with Corrin guys!
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Impressive. 3,5% to 5%. Woohoo.

Free First Summon? Six months into the series release? DeNa really learned from FFRK, huh…
Back in my day playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper in the 60s, we had to spend 50 mythril to try to get a decent piece of equipment. And when you'd roll, you weren't guaranteed any of the banner items, even when you rolled 11 items at once. We old folks had to wait a year before they let us have one free 5* item, and even then, it wasn't guaranteed to be an item in the banner.
You whippersnappers only had to wait 6 months to get such a freebie.

Cordelia and FemRobin confirmed for FE Warriors
-
Frobin is actually a bit of a surprise
Wonder if we'll get -pfft- Male Corrin too -
Pretty sure the voting gap between Male and Female Robin is like the Empire State Building compared to Male and Female Corrin's Mariana Trench.
-
Hahahaha! Cordelia over Sumia.
BTW I was sure expecting the gender swap to be an alternate.
-
I like Male Corrin…. :(
-
@S.C.:
I like Male Corrin…. :(
tbh I'm getting a soft spot for him based on how much he's reviled.
-
Update. Female Robin won't be in the main story, just side missions.
And other stuff translated:- Female Robin won't be playable in the main story, only in side modes. She seems to use the same weapon and magic so she may just be a clone.
- Permadeath : it's more like permanent injury, they will still be there for story conversations but won't take in battle.
- There will still be Classic/Casual mode ofc.
- There are routes in the levels exclusive for flyers, but you gotta watch out for archers on the other end.
- You can collect and change weapons. Some weapons have special effects, like Armorkiller which is super effective on knights.
- Weapon triangle : you can check the effectiveness while in battle through the menu, if you have the advantage the ennemy will have a Stun Gauge. Once the Stun Gauge is depleted, you'll unleash a powerful attack on the ennemy.
- You can give orders to your AI-controlled warriors in-game, but also set automatic tendencies (offensive/defensive) and turning auto-healing on or off. As already announced, you can also just switch characters anytime you want.
- You can have up to 4 characters in a battle.
-
Female Robin is now Chrom's side chick eventhough Sumia is currently out of the picture:ninja:

Cordelia is found dead in Ferox
-
Chrom x Robin always made the most sense. Even with Sumia existing.

Makes Lucina's judgement a hell of a ride though with how literally nothing is different when Robin is literally her mother
-
Robin: "I can't believe we had a baby! This is so crazy! I wonder what her first words are going to be!"
[several days later]
Lucina: "Mom, I have to kill you."
Also makes it interesting cause it implies that Lucina would end up aborting Morgan from time.
-
It seems a Male Archer and a Female Flier were teased for Warriors.
-
Predicting the teased rider and archer characters are Camilla and Takumi
-
Weirdly enough I think MRobin X Lucina adds better flavor: she went back in time to end the one who turned on her father, only to fall for his charms in the process.
yes i ship lucina/robinI'll predict Camilla and Takumi as well, but hey, could be a curveball and be like Minerva or something.
-
It'll be Jeorge and and Cherche
Mark my words -
Also no weapon slot for daggers were found so no Felicia or Kaze for you.
-
Help me out, guys. FE: Warriors is apparently available for NEW 3DS? I've got an old 3DS (ironically the special Awakening one), will mine be able to play this?
Showing him….ending a segment on Eirika....Sacred Seals? Stop blueballing me IS, give me Seth or give me death.
A-FUCKING-MEN!!!!
Oh Valter, you Gundam Wing villain looking mofo, you.
lol. I'd almost forgotten about him.
-
No, only three models will be able to play it: the New 3DS which was only available in America through a Black Friday deal last year, the New 3DS XL which is currently on sale, and the New 2DS XL which just came out last week.

WHY? What's so special about these new DSes?
-
I guess I'm gonna have to miss another Fire Emblem game >:[
-
WHY? What's so special about these new DSes?
Jist of it is that it has more processing power so that it can run games more smoothly/more demanding ones. The only other exclusive New 3DS game that I'm aware of is the port of Xenoblade.
The New 2DS/3DS XL are both around $150/175 from what I'm seeing, so if you need to upgrade now for whatever reason they're not a bad deal. I'm probably going to get a New 2DS XL myself since the R button on my OG 3DS seems to be dying.
-
Grrrr. But I like my current DS because it's Fire Emblem-themed with Awakening included on it.
-
You don't have to get rid of your old 3DS.
You could also just invest in a Switch. Though if it's just for FE Warriors then yea, just upgrade to the New 2DS XL. Though note they're also working on a FE game for Switch so who knows if that's something you'll also want.
-
I don't want to buy a Switch if it's only for one game. But are they going to have a DS-version of the new FE game?
-
Probably not, no.
-
Hyrule warriors ran like shit on classic 3ds. In the new one at least was playable.
I'm musued out this year, and with the whole "only these games, fuck the other ones" deal, it left this one in a low priority bracket.
-
Finished my Shadow Dragon run by the end since I decided to do all Gaiden chapters ended with only 12 units alive lol.
My best units were Barst, Hardin(thanks to a crit he did was able to end the Medeus before even more of my units died lol), and the one who has the pants in the relationship Caeda, she basically recruits half of Marth army.lol -
Caeda is the best in Shadow Dragon.
Forge the Wingspear and watch the bosses fall.
