You seriously got skills when it comes to drawing perspectives

natural? >_<;;
i fail in concept and composition. lalalala. as long as they look cool, good enough.
You are so wrong about that. You kick my ass at concept and composition.

points at recent naked namixusopp in the shower one
not very convincing. =P
-
no no no, cosmic is right. you are good at invisioning things. Sure, she has good skill at realism, as shown by usoppxnami, but you've invisioned a whole story here, with a setting and everything.
everything, composed together is apealing. For one thing, you understand that a-semetrical balance is pleasing to the eye so you set the charicters off to the side to make the pic more interesting. Then, you understand focal point, so you drew a nice, but not overly exciting background so as not to take focus away from the cool charicters. (imagine how distracting if pandaman was in the background) You even have usopp's staff in a nice position to encourage the eye to flow from usopp's face, down to his nice ass. ;) ….and then over to sanji.
stop being so modest man, your more skilled than you think. ^_^

I used a reference for that. So THERE!

my only reasoning is that it looks cooler with bandages <_<
That's my reasoning. XD
I never know the names of stuff. I just know if something looks good or not. :/

exactly! xD
yay for instinct! and trials and errors <_<

lovey e1n-sama!
you inspire <3 -
ok, this ain't greyspread, but i'd like people's opinion on this, and i don't think this merits a new thread…
read the question in the spoiler tag ONLY AFTER you finished reading the linked pic:

! i think that's an interesting way to start a story that has nothing to do with ogres whatsoever. xD what do you guys think?
-
hahaha, makes me wonder what its about then. i'm interested in finding out…
-
It looks like the background of your VivixZoro +Franky greyspread ^^

For some reason, this reminds me a bit of the first couple pages of "King of Bandits Jing" (even the first couple minutes of the anime). They set up some character or another and then, out of nowhere, the narrator goes "This story has nothing to do with them".
(also reminds me a bit of a Monty Python sketch, but in that case, the characters that are suddenly swept under the rug reappear at the very end to "handle the threat" the real story is about)

ah, i've never read king of bandits jing, but yes, this technique should have been used before. it's not original at all. i actually got an idea for this from douglas adams' the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy series ("this is not her story"), which, then, isn't surprising that monty python did the same thing, since adams came under the influence of monty python.
the only reason i'm posing this question is because i've only seen this be used in comedy novels, and not in manga. thanks for pointing out its usage in jing, tokoro. i'll check that out =D

Well just as long as the tale has nothing to do with people turning Scottish and blanc manges :p

still in indonesia, and still using slooooooooooooow internet.
and to make things worse, this PC i'm using has no FTP program, so i uploaded this to DA

a result of being bored during a 14-hour flight from LA to taipei.

Hmmmm…interesting. I've always loved the backgrouns of your art e1n. There's always lots of interesting little things to look at, your a lot like Oda in that (and several other) respects. Lets hope that we never get to here Sanji playing guitar (although his VA is a pretty good singer); lest all of our ears explode.
-
good god e1n. that's freaking amaising. Hilarios too. Did you sketch that in pencil first, or did you go rigth ahead with an ink pen?! That would be even more amaising. Your hatching is beautiful. I just want to stare at Sanji's shirt. My one beef, being an Usopp fan, is his head/face looks wierd. but hey, you were drawing on a plane, with turbulance, and creepy people sitting beside you, with annoying little twerps behind you kicking your seat.
Glad to see your still around. I was thinking yesterday, I was starting to miss your posts.
-
everything's always done in pencil first. my math teacher used to say "you're not god. use a pencil."
actually, i have another drawing that i will scan and upload maybe tomorrow where i did the background without first using pencil sketch. horrible, horrible background =/
as for his face, i purposely made it different. i connected the line from the top of the nose (in between the eye) all the way until the bottom lip. a little experimentation, you know. and to tell you the truth, this started out as being an experiment in drawing that kind of face. ended up being a full fledged drawing. life is rather odd.
-
OSmething I neglected to mention in my comment in Deviantart…..thanks for getting that song stuck in my head -__-
"those were the best days of my liiifffeee"
-
LOL that's such a great drawing! and funny as hell too. I love how you drew Sanji's expression and his feet, I know that's random but most ppl can't draw feet very well and I'm impressed with you feet drawing skills.
The cross hatching is amazing and I love all the detail you put in.
And yeah I have to agree with captain usopp. Usopp's face looks kinda off but other than that it's perfect. -
O_o
WHOOOOOOOPS.
i thought captain usopp was talking about sanji… <_< my bad
yes, usopp's face does look weird. but then again, that whole thing was done on an 8.5x11, so that small panel down there was pretty small. i purposely picked a dying micron 005 when drawing usopp's face, so that the lines come out very thin.... but i grabbed the wrong one and used a brand new 005. T_T
oh, and this is what i was talking about in my last post, about a horribly done background
http://www.deviantart.com/view/36909072/
aside from the background, though, i think sanji came out the best. usopp's kinda weird, and franky looks kinda…. wrong. <_<
! franky looks like he's saying "gimme a blowjob, now!" <_<
-
The background looks very medieval Japanese-ish. Insubstantial I suppose would be the proper word, I like it a lot. I only have tiny little problem, Sanji's feet seem a tad on the large side, but that may be perspective. Otherwise, I really like it; I'd really like to see more backgrounds done with that new pen.
-
I think Sanji is really your strong point e1n. I can see some (very minor) flaws with perspective and porportion, but that still impresses me, saying you did that all in ink, no pencil first. And the background isn't "bad" just not as "involved" as your other backgrounds. Usually they interact with your foreground. This one, makes the charicters really pop forward. I like your usual backgrounds, but this is refreshing too.
what the hell is Franky doing anyways? XD
-
franky's making weird poses like always.
i still drew the characters with pencil sketches, otherwise it'd be impossible. it's just the background that i drew straight with a new kind of brush pen i've never used before <_<
-
i think you did good on this. I like the franky(even with his wierd pose) and sanji is alway one of your good points but i dont know if it just me but someting is a little wrong with Usopp, but overall Great job.
-
Hey e1n, I colored your Sogeking. :3

I just realized I forgot to color the rubber band thingy though.
I wanna see it but photobucket too it down??? :wassat:
-
a luffy, for those of you gomu fans. apologies on the background. i lost interest in making any further details on the background.
-
oooo Very Very nice. looks Back I wonder why I havn't posted here yet. I love your work. I've read through The Comic that you had published at least 10 times. I always do enjoy. So Please. keep going.
-
wholey shit e1n that just blows me away! and it isn't even usopp….

done to celebrate the end of the first round of the traveling sketchbook project.
Very nice. Tis all I can say. XD
-
shalalala shalalala sha~
!
! the line that goes with it would be something like "i'm not wearing anything under this cape. would you like to see?"line shading practice gone awry. all i can say is blame eggy for this.
-
Put on gear 4? :o
-
too late. already submitted to DA as e1n's =/
next time we do something more suggestive we'll put it on g4od.
-
Thinking about it some more, I'm shocked Snaji's not in there (then agian, he probably passed out already due to massive blood loss ^_^ )
BTW, I like the clever use of Robin's extra hands, you don't repeat a single action, and they're spread out pretty asymetrically.
-
That certainly is an interesting concept, although as a RobinZoro fan so I'm rather biased against the concept. Still a really, really good piece, Robin looks absolutely fantastic, her expression is mesmerizing.
So, eggy is responsible for this. pulls out a frying pan I'm having an egg sandwich, with EXTRA CHEESE. >:D
-
amazed
e1n, you so totally rock, its not even funny. (That's a very high compliment coming from me.) Your drawings are some of the most awesome I've ever seen. Chopper's face in the last Robin one was priceless.
Does the happy e1n Dance
Yes, you now have a dance!

you have officially been backgrounded that pic rocks
-
click for a big, big version. xD
this one is also eggy's fault.
don't you just love a naughty princess? <33
warning, as much as this looks like it, this is NOT a hentai drawing. <_<
ecchi, maybe. but that's as far as it goes.re-read the entire drum arc and the whole vivi dragging usopp by the nose after the avalanche just kinda made you think what happened when she first found him. also noticed that in arabasta, everytime vivi tried to get usopp's attention, she would grab him by the nose.
conclusion: the little princess loves the multifunctional nose.
-
hahahaha you're so terrible e1n XD
-
hehe. Saw that today. Soo funny.
-
well…this one isn't exactly for the ladies...but I love how you draw Vivi. We need some more Vivi fan art. Kudos to you.
-

nop… i figured i've given enough fanservice to the ladies, and now time to balance things out. xD
but hey, usopp's still there, though... and that nose GIVES HIM MORE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT RAWR!!!111
-
oh, hey, I didn't say that. I'm all for fair play here. ^_^ I actually don't mind your naughty sence of humor. It's tasteful, and not overly offensive. A person's respect for others really shows a lot about their charicter. I like your art, and I like you.
(what have you done for the ladies though? I forget) -
(what have you done for the ladies though? I forget)
points to your sig ;p i'd say that is nice fanservice
-
I'd call it nice fanwork, but that's not my definishon of fanservice. Not that I'm complaining about my nice, pretty picture of usopp. tee hee. I was always under the asumption that fansevice delt with sexual undertones. To me, your Sig, Neko, is more fanservice.
-
i think the ladies would want some yaoi stuff…. which i prefer not to do
YET. xD
this whole ladies getting something reminded me of a line from jason mraz's curbside prophet:
... all the ladies say: he's soooo crazy!!
we got the backstage ladies takin' more than they can get they say: i wanna have your babies!!does anyone here also think that jason mraz is the god of melody and words?
