@Psycrow:
So I was just curious about this site's popularity randomly and part of the alexa.com ranking shows where the members are/come from. (Ignore "Rank in Country", that means how many other sites in that country are more popular than apforums.net)

So here we have United States at #1 with about 1/3 of the members, that makes sense since people speak english here… #3 is Australia with a little under 10%, that's reasonable too... but what's this at #2 with about 1/4 of the members here? The UK? Canada? No-- GREECE?! What the heck? Less than half the people in Greece speak english... and where are the other english-speaking countries hiding out in this top 5 list? Greece is a tiny blob towards the middle... uh, okay.
You're misinterpreting that. It's not talking about membership but viewers, which means any people who pop in to browse.
It seems suspect though. There's imply no way Canada and the UK are not showing up as results.
This is one of the oldest premier English One Piece boards, so those by all logic need to be showing up in some major degree. The system on that site has to be flawed.
Or maybe you're also misinterpreting it…and its taking snapshots of visitors at that exact moment?
I just used the same site and the results were that the main countries were Saudi Arabia, US, France, Croatia and India.
The only way this makes sense is its profiling at the exact moment in time.
As for representation coming from places with little English, well it actually makes sense if there's no (or slow and crappy) One Piece anime or manga localizations in those languages.
So you'll get a percent of those countries who do speak english who are actively seeking out some form of One Piece. Arabic, Italian, or Greek One Piece subs and scans surely exist...but maybe aren't high quality or steadily produced.
And also there's no local community to participate in if those countries/languages don't have a huge enough amount of fans. Or the communities are small and not all that vibrant.
So the people in those areas who again speak English will still gravitate to Arlong Park.
So, I guess… Hi, Greek people!
