I was at psx for the announcement which was pretty cool. Ono said he was happy to have one reveal not leak before he could show it. He also said something similar about that when they listed the DLC characters names.

At the closing of Capcom Cup 2015, Yoshinori Ono presented a brand new SFV trailer which begins with Street Fighter V's opening cinematic! The trailer then runs through the 16 launch characters and even shows of the brand new "airfield" stage. In addition, Capcom also released a new SFV alternate costumes trailer, showing off the first 4 DLC costumes for Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy & M. Bison!
-
Damn, Ryu, you're looking positively Lumbersexual. I also guess the creators couldn't stand how modestly dressed Chun-Li was before so they had to give her a ridiculously skimpy outfit. But I love Cammy's new outfit.
-
Loving those alts! Chun-Li's is definitely my favorite of the bunch. It's cool seeing her without the buns in her hair.
Also, I feel I must go on record saying that Street Fighter always delivers with the cheesecake/beefecake in their alts. Capcom just gets it. -

Ono admiting it or not, SFV definitely learned one thing or two from MKX.
-
Was that Juni in the background of the Airfield stage??

True. Thankfully, they chosen to give DLC of characters that people actually want, unlike MKX.

Seriously, though, F.A.N.G. looks like a really interesting new character, I'm surprised to see such a character in this game.

Capcom announced a new live action web series called Street Fighter Resurrection that will "set the stage" for the events of Street Fighter 5. This series is created by the same guys who made the awesome Street Fighter Assassin's Fist series which makes this all the more fantastic for me! :D
-
The thumnbnail alone won me over.

Ah well. Skimpy outfit or not, one thing I always loved about Chun-Li is that for a kung-fu artist with a focus on kicks she always had the leg muscles to back it up. Nice to see that doesn't change.
-
Was it confirmed whether or not those costumes would be available eventually beyond the pre order bonus?
-
Combofiend shows off F.A.N.G.
Highlights to note:- It seems like F.A.N.G is a charge character
- In the match against Zangief F.A.N.G's seems to out zone Zangief. Although it's not known who is the greater zoner.
- F.A.N.G's poison is active until he gets hit. Imagine if his poison does exponential damage the longer a person stays poison.
My only question is if his poison is basically a projectile or not. Also if two players are right next to each other and one player uses a poison projectile and the other uses a fireball do they cancel each other out or does the player still get poisoned due to the proximity of the poison.

The official Street Fighter: Resurrection Facebook page just posted some stills of new and returning actors involved with the live action mini-series. Christian Howard & Mike Moh will reprise their roles as Ken & Ryu, respectively, from Street Fighter: Assassins Fist. Resurrection is planned to debut in March, about a month after the release of SFV, and is said to be a "narrative prologue" to SFV.

Street Fighter V hits Japan on February 18th (two days after North America & Europe). Capcom released some images of Japan's SFV special edition and bonus content which includes badass artwork by legendary Street Fighter artist and designer, Bengus. The Bengus artwork is actually the cover to the SFV "Vital Box" which includes: A Visionary artbook with interviews, instructional DVD, and character movelists with artwork.
The SFV "Volcanic Edition" also includes director's edition in-game colors, 1,500 Zeni (in-game money) via product codes, battle costumes for Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy & M. Bison, and limited edition in-game titles. SFV Volcanic Edition retails for 12,990 Yen ($108 USD).
Other details: The DVD is 60 minutes long and features SFV battle planner, Woshige, as an intructor. There are other Japanese special editions besides the "Volcanic" edition, containing different sets of the items you see above. We previously reported on the SFV "Hot" Edition which contains the cool Ryu & Chun-Li alt. costume cover artwork (pictured below), and some of the Vital Box contents above. For details on each version, visit E-Capcom.

Does anyone know of any arcade sticks that will work with SFV on PC?

On Windows 7 , you can plug a 360 stick into it , should automatically be recognized.
-
I love the Ryu and Chun Li illustration for the alternate cover!
-
Necalli alternate costume literally turns him into a pillar man
!
-
You might've heard about or seen some images of the newly leaked, "data mined" alternate costumes recently found in the PC version of SFV. Well, let's skip the weird, bland images of the ripped in-game models and go straight to the good stuff… gameplay footage! The new footage features every known SFV alt. costume to date, including the likes of (not official names): "M. Birdie", "Interpol Chun-Li", "casual Rashid", "Pillar Man Necalli", and many others!
-
-
Sadly no Ken alternate.
-
I didn't like Laura alt outfit…For anyone that wasn't distracted, it is written "Bonita" ("beautiful" in portuguese) in her shirt. Also her taunt, IDK if this is 100% correct, but I think that it is a reference to famous dance move in Brazil.
-
Of those alt outfits, my favorites are Interpol Chun-Li, both of Cammy's and casual Rashid.
Pillar man Necalli is cool too.

it's time to check out the Collector's Edition for North America. The star of the package is a 10" tall Ryu statue, standing in the same pose as the SFV cover art. Also included: a 48-page hard cover artbook, 1-month Twitch.tv subscription to CapcomFighters, digital comics from UDON, digital soundtrack sampler, and more!
Below are the official images of the North America exclusive Collector's Edition.

[h=3]Cinematic Story Expansion[/h]For the first time in franchise history, we are creating a cinematic story experience that takes players deep into the Street Fighter action and mythology through beautifully rendered cutscenes. The Story Expansion will be available to all players as a freecontent update, releasing in June 2016. Chronologically in the Street Fighter storyline, it takes place between the events of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, and fully explains everything that transpired in that electrifying time period.
-
I was worried we wouldn't be getting a story mode. Good to hear that's still on the table, and coming free in June.
Also, first DLC character is in March apparently - who do you think it will be? I doubt they're in any sort of order on their announcement image. I want to see Urien asap, but Guile makes the most logical sense, because he's obviously involved in the story as well.
-
Ah hell no! I like when each character have an arcade mode like story.
-
Pop Culture Shock recently unveiled their latest, fully polished 1/6 scale Street Fighter statue… and it's a beast! Sculpted by Justin McMillan & Hector Arce and painted by Mike Najera, PCS's Street Fighter V Necalli statue stands 15.5" inches tall and will be released in 4 versions. The standard Necalli statue is priced at $299 and is limited to 500 pieces. Then there's the PCS exclusive "Torrent of Power" edition limited to 125 pieces and comes with a signed 11x17 art print by Edwin Huang (also $299).

I can't… that Laura alternate outfit... I just... omg...
It is so wrong, but SO wrong, that it kinda turns around and becomes kinda amusing? I don't know... At least the "bonita" made chuckle.About the Story mode, I am pleased. Both because we have a Story mode and because it is not made of weird anime like SFIV.
-
Next up, some SFV Bengus story art! It's certainly been a while since we've seen official Street Fighter artwork from the great Bengus! Capcom also confirmed that chronologically, SFV takes place between the events of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, and will "fully explain" the events that took place between the two sagas.

Should have just got Murata to do it all instead.

It doesn't look that awful.

Bengus art has regressed unfortunately.
Laura's alt is interesting… to say the least.

With that mentality I wonder if wishes he could do Street Fighter X Tekken over again :3

Interviewer: So why are almost all the female characters in sexualized oufits still?
-
Fighting games works with stereotypes, especially Street Fighter where we can see a fire breathing indian a muscled shirtless russian and sexy "funkeira" brazilian.
-
Interviewer: So why are almost all the female characters in sexualized oufits still?
Ono (exclusively for this post!): Because we realized that catering to people who never intended to play our game in the first place was stupid and a waste of our time, money, and resources. Not to mention that every single character in the entire series is sexualized in one way or another, anyway. You do realize that Necalli is nearly completely naked, right?

I hate this "argument". Absolutely positively hate it. It's not true and is erasure.
The entire idea that "There's no such thing as a person who actually plays video games AND has legitimate criticism of them".
APPARENTLY, you can either be a gamer in which you need to be 100% ok with every aspect of every video game.
Or.
You're some filthy SJW who has never touched a video game in your life, doesn't plan to start anytime soon, but feels like you have a right to demand things from developers.
There's no middle ground (Apparently)
-
Interviewer: What ever helps you sleep at night, Ono.
Ono (looks back from panty vending machine): I'm sorry, what?
-
I hate this "argument". Absolutely positively hate it. It's not true and is erasure.
100% this.
I think it's not only possible, but also important to stay critical even of games you love. People shouldn't be shamed for calling out something they consider wrong in a video game.
