I think Mileena is the fifth. More importantly, we saw like 5+ characters who COULD be playable. Shinnok, Erron Black at 0:52, Rain at 1:19, zombified Sindel at 1:23, and the random asian woman.
I think the asian woman is Li Mei. Li Mei is the only human-looking character I know with a village plot-line.

If you mean the red fog, I think that's going to have to do with the Netherrealm coming out of the ground. (Since it's all red when Cassie and crew are fighting Sindel and Kitana).
If you mean the two yellow ninjas fighting, I think that's human Scorpion and Takeda.

We only really saw four of them in gameplay. I think it's up in the air unless Boon or someone clarifies.

OMG! I was never what you would call a MK fan. I was ok with it up to MK4, hated it from then on and loved MK9 playability, but for some reason I am so excited about this game.
The story mode is looking great! LOVED Mileena's look, Takeda and Jacquie were obvious additions, but who is the guy with the bow? (EDIT: Kunjin? Is he new? Never heard of him) Rain is in, ok. I hope Shinnok is playable, I know nothing of him but for some reason I like this guy. Erron Black is still around, raising my hopes he is not Johnny Cage in disguise or anyone else and will be playable.
So, the 5 new playable: Takeda, Jacquie, Mileena, Rain and Kunjin.

I think they adapted Brutalities into an interesting concept, but I was kind of looking forward to the ridiculous and elaborate combos leading into a giant explosion of 5 peoples' worth of bones.
Don't worry the complaints have already been filed.
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

New character yet to be introduced in the comic/in general. His name is Kung Jin, and seems to be related to Kung Lao (word of mouth is 'descendant'). Possible son/nephew/father's roommate twice removed.
Erron Black is still around, raising my hopes he is not Johnny Cage in disguise or anyone else and will be playable.
I can confirm that Johnny is not Erron. Right now in the comics. I can post the next chapter really quick where there is undeniable proof. Gimme a sec.

-Reptile attacks Sonya with his tongue, but the tongue is caught by JOHNNY CAGE, who reveals himself to be one of the cloaked allies of Sonya.
-Johnny speaks up, trying the mediate the situation between Sonya and Kotal.
-D'Vorah heals Kotal's bullet wound with leaches. (Gross)
-Johnny asks NICELY where Cassie is and shows Kotal a phone image revealing Erron Black.
-Kotal explains that Erron Black is an ally and a connection to the Black Dragon, but he did not order Erron Black to kidnap Cassie and Jacqui.-Flash to Erron Black and Kano leading a group of Black Dragon members who are escorting a handcuffed Cassie and Jaqcui.
-Cassie attempts to escape, but Kano lasers them against a tree, stopping them.
-Erron demands Kano to go easy on them because they need them alive.
-They are suddenly intercepted by Mavado and the Red Dragon. Mavado is wearing the ugliest Dr. Robotnik pants I have ever seen in my entire life.
-"We'll be taking those two from you."-Cut to Hanzo/Scorpion and Takeda. Art style has changed and for some reason, Hanzo looks like a bearded Keanu Reeves.
-Takeda questions Hanzo as to why they are resting and not marching straight for the tower.
-A thunder storm starts, and suddenly, Raiden comes diving in and attacking Hanzo. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?"
-Raiden seems to have cut himself MORE with the fucking Kamidogu knife.

He hit a wanted criminal, and while celebrating over the bounty he's going to get for killing the criminal, he crashed into an orphanage. The car exploded and Raiden was the only survivor of the explosion.

I lvoe this comic… I love that my boy Reptile is actually getting a bit of character instead of just being the punching bag... And I love the whole Sub-Zero stuff... So he is cursed or some shit... Same goes for Raiden?
And small question... The dagger which Kotal has used... Is it a Kamidogu as well?
I somehow lost how many of this dagger we have seen so far

I can't say for sure if Kotal's blade is a Kamidogu yet or not, but it's not entirely out of the question. We've only seen two of the knives, and both resemble each other save for color (one is red and one is blue). The knives don't share many similarities with Kotal's blade, but that doesn't mean it's not a Kamidogu.
There are eight Kamidogus in total:
-One Kamidogu to represent each of the seven realms (Earthrealm, Outworld, Edenia, Netherrealm, Orderrealm, Chaosrealm)
-Shinnok's amulet. The very same amulet used to encage Shinnok in the story trailer, and the very same amulet Mileena is using the story trailer. -
Mortal Kombat X is coming to mobile devices in April.

-Flashback to two week previous, where Hanzo and Takeda are marching through a blizzard.
-Hanzo explains his past.-FLASHBACK WITHIN A FLASHBACK
-As we know: Bi-Han killed him, Hanzo THOUGHT that Bi-Han killed his wife and child.
-Cue censored shot of naked Hanzo chained and hanging above the flames of the Netherrealm.
-Quan Chi notices that the flames do not harm Hanzo, but instead, empower him. Quan Chi allows him to become 'Scorpion'.
-Hanzo confesses that he was 'never under Quan Ch's' control as Scorpion. He volunteered and the flames of revenge had driven him mad.
-Hanzo cannot use Hellfire abilities too much, or else 'Scorpion' will return.
-Hanzo was taught to control his rage with the help of Kenshi.-Back to Raiden vs Hanzo, Takeda tries to help and stabs Raiden's back with a katana.
-Raiden proceeds to electrocute Takeda.
-Hanzo uses Hellfire to teleport both himself and Takeda away from Raiden.
-Hanzo then uses Hellfire to teleport in and steal the Kamidogu dagger from Raiden.
-Raiden states that Hanzo is using too much Hellfire.
-Hanzo teleports in with his mask on, ready to fight Raiden.

If there was anything interesting:
-Cameo in Flashback of Bi-Han getting roasted from Scorpion's fire breath. (Hilarious, because Bi-Han is screaming "I DIDN'T DO IT!" as he's on fire)
-Brief panel cameo in Flashback of Liu Kang recalling the scene where Liu Kang fought Quan Chi and Scorpion in MK9.
-Brief panel cameo in Flashback of Johnny Cage in his MK9 outfit getting uppercutted by Scorpion.That's it. It was basically, "Hey! These characters existed!" Plus Raiden being his annoying self.
Me thinks Hanzo is going to use too much Hellfire and become Scorpion for MKX.

Btw, finally got my hands on MK9, so I can play the Story mode and find out... well... the story (thank god for this reset, I would never do it if I had to go all the way back to the first instalments).

I miss the first installments. Kitana being a self-reliant goddess of strategy and politics. Sonya having moral conflicts with herself. Sheeva have story value in general. Shao Kahn being an interesting three dimensional villain. Stryker being not-dead or not-undead.
I will admit though. The new timeline gave more love to the B-List and C-List characters of this franchise.

I will admit though. The new timeline gave more love to the B-List and C-List characters of this franchise.
I played MK2 to 4 innumerable times, but never had any idea what the story behind the games was. The ones that came after that would turn me away on the first glance, so now is the first time I have the chance to actually get into the MK world - and I am actually liking this timeline a lot.
(It's not something exclusive to MK: aside from Samurai Shodown and the Ash arc from KOF, I believe I don't know the story of any fighting game).
