Yea i agree with you. Unlike naruto or any shounen manga, oda really strict about romance in One Piece. So i dont hope much for it. But still, maybe there's still a little possibility that oda will change his mind and put a little romance in his manga. So, let's hope we will see any pairing in the end of One Piece story. :)

For the pairing it self i think the most possible shipping right now is luffy with hancock (make sense since luffy will become the king of pirate, and hancock is queen of Kuja.) and usopp will end up with kaya. :)

And for the other i still confuse about the possibility but i guess zoro will end up either robin or tashigi, robin will end up with zoro or franky, tashigi will end up with smoker or zoro, and sanji end up either nami or violet.
In my opinion i just think these are the most possibility shipping that may be really happen in the end of OP. :)

I have to disagree. Unlike UsoppxKaya I don't see any LuffyyxHancock spark there. By that I mean a spark would be on both sides of the equation. There is no spark on Luffy's side, he sees Hancock as friend and ally and that's it. The romantic interest is only on Hancock's side.

Now Usopp and Kaya… ironically, this is the only Strawhat that Oda has given any hints of a true spark there on both sides. Oda has shown both Kaya for Usopp and Usopp for Kaya.Though that one is rare and was done only in passing and hadn't been done since the timeskip though, while the Kaya for Usopp scenes has continued.

The two moments for Usopp for Kaya was done so far back it was on the Going Merry.
1-There was one scene when Usopp creates a snow sculpture he calls "Snow Queen", it looks like Kaya.
2-It was after Drum Island. They guys were fixing the Going Merry from where Wapol had bitten off a part. Sanji commented on how they needed a new ship, Usopp angrily replied with a question of didn't he know the story of the ship.
Sanji replied that yeah, the ship was given to the crew by that beautiful blond girl Usopp always talks about.

We never saw Usopp directly tell stories of Kaya or say how he feels, its only hints or talked about in passing. But it is there. (Unlike Luffy feeling anything beyond friendship for Hancock)

Hahahahahahaha, you're awesome man!. Now being serious, i get the strangest feeling that Oda is the corniest guy on the planet. I bet his idea of romance involves walking in the sunset, holding hands, blushing, not being able to look at each other because they're nervous, claiming they'll protect each other for eternity and saying they love each other any chance they get. That's probably why he doesn't try it in OP, however, Ed and Winry is what i personally expect from any shonen author who tries to go the romance route.

I don't know if Oda would be that corny in depicting a romance LOL. As I said before, the only time I could really detect some resemblance of love in the air while reading One Piece was between Kaya and Usopp. And the whole thing was portraited in such a very subtle, sweet and platonic manner, that it's likely it was nothing more than friendship. I guess there's some inclination to scrutinize relations between boys and girls in fiction to check if there's a ship sailing, and this may lead to misinterpretations.

But I agree that if something like that ever happened in the manga the cornerstone of the relationship would be mutual loyalty and total dedication. Friendships in One Piece are already portraited like that, so I don't think a romance would be much different. But that's exactly why I believe (and dearly hope) there'll never be romance among the major characters, especially the Straw Hats. They're already too committed to each other as a crew and as a family, and also extremely committed to their dreams and goals. I don't think there's room for a serious affair in their pirate hearts.

An example of this, in my opinion, is Zoro. He was willing to throw away his life for Luffy in that Kuma situation. If he ever became involved with a girl, he'd probably be ready to give himself away for her too, and that'd be end of his promise to Kuina xD

If Sanji is any indicator of how he views romance then… yeah he needs to keep romance as far away of OP as posible.

I would also like to add Otohime and Neptune and Kyros and Scarlett as official couples. Actually Oda never clearly said there will be no romance in one piece. Rather he just denying the question with his twisted answer: "of course they all fall in love…with adventure". (In SBS in my country, it's translated like that.)
And if we looking based on his favorite manga, Dragon Ball, maybe -if- Oda put romance in one piece someday, it will be not even far from romance in dragon ball. (Anyone here read dragon ball also?) example, in dragon ball manga, son goku and chi chi, vegeta and bulma, kurilin and no.18 are married and have kids. however, akira toriyama (the mangaka) NEVER draw the lovey dovey things between them, like vegeta and bulma, he never draw any romantic things between them such as hugging, kissing, or even holding hands. He keep stick with the battle stories, even he put the romance in it.
So i guess Oda will do the simillar things if he decide to put some romance in one piece. :)

But i also, honestly dont want to see any married and pregnant stories in one piece haha. It just too weird. I more prefer if oda make it like "partnership", something like rayleigh and shakky. So they are "friends" who has deep connection between them and know each other so well. Something like that is enough for me. No need to see them holding hands and kissing in the flower field.

I dont want to see he sick and die alone. So based on my own wish, i think the calm, mature and caring woman like robin is suits with what kind of partner that zoro might be need for the best. Thats why i like to ship them.^^ (only my selfish wish of course haha)

I'm not a Dragon Ball fan but I get what you mean about how Toriyama usually portraits couples in the story. I also think that if Oda ever wrote a blooming romance in One Piece he would focus more on partnerhip than "walking on the beach at sunset". At least, that's how the real couples in canon have bevahed so far. I believe Sanji's antics around women are just a recurring gag, hehe

Yeah, I read that on some SBS too, but why so many people see that in a romantic light is beyond me :wassat:
I understood it as a paralell to their affective role in the crew in general, not their personal relationship with each other, and certainly not in a romantic context. And even that is disputable, as Zoro and Sanji have displayed more maturity than Franky in several occasions, so maybe that's just a matter of age or whatever, as you pointed =P

I believe that, apart from Chopper, Zoro is the least likely Straw Hat to get involved with someone. Actually, he's so goal-oriented that I picture him after achieving his dream as becoming pretty much like those war heroes who can never adapt in peace times or Ancient Greek heroes whose goal is having a glorious death and then being imortalized in epic poetry.

I wouldn't be surprised if he died in the end or simply ends up wandering around in quest of a new meaning for his life, as Rayleigh did after his adventures. If that's the case, then I can see him hanging around with Robin or some other female character as a companion, but not as a lover.

But then again, that's all just my opinion ^^

I also have imagined the straw hats going their separate ways at the end of the series. Franky and Robin have a somewhat unique relationship concerning their circumstances and motivations. I think they relate to each other on a different level than they do to the other straw hats. Not just because they are older but because of how they view the world. But who can say? It's fun to think about.

As far as romance goes, I think you could argue in favor of Oda changing things since his manga has evolved so much since it first began. Not only are we seeing families, but he's created more brutal imagery and acknowledges that many of the children who read his manga are now adults. Stories like Rebecca and Kyros could be reflections of his own experiences too, as a father. I'm sure that he will continue to add different arcs and surprise us down the line. A little romance here and there won't hurt the story in the long run.

Still thinking about zoro/robin chemistry when idk, they have none. Pfft but honestly tho, of all the strawhats, the one i can pictured with a relationship is only usopp with kaya. I mean the rest of them.. are too ambitious and just not the type to settle down with a relationship.

Viola and Sanji was a surprise pairing that I didn't think i'd like. But seeing the poor guy actually get taken (somewhat) seriously and get some affection in return… it warms my heart.

Other than that, Robin/Franky has a really strange and mature chemistry. Though the only couple I can really see, and truly WANT to see by the end of the manga, is Usopp/Kaya. Its just so sweet,

@red: Didn't Rayleigh (and the rest of the Roger Pirates) went off on their own only because Roger surrendered himself to the WG? So, unless Luffy does the same (which I highly doubt), the Straw Hats will have no reason to disband the crew.

@green: Agreed. I'm not a big fan of romance, but as long as it doesn't compromise/take over the main story, I have no problem with it.

CRACK-SHIP:

1. Mihawk/Boa - This person here is a victim of someone's fic at FFN that make her this pair's shipper with only one fic, lol. Gosh, that fic is golden X3 I'm already a Mihawk's fan since long ago btw, like who can resist dat hawk-eyes omg…<3
2. Law/Bonney - Just because I wanna see Law with anyone other than SHP females and voila, I found this ship. I've seen some fanpics about them out there, not plenty but enough to make me surprised ^^, and they're actually good. I like Bonney tho. Her BG's quite intriguing. The discussions dedicated for her are also interesting to read
3. Wyper/Conis - When I see Conis treat Wyper injuries after the battle, I…just can't help myself but to think they're cute together :') Since I'm a loyal follower of 'opposite-attract' tenet, I found Wyper's fierce nature and Conis' goody two-shoes quite a match, lol.
4. Bartolomeo/Rebecca - Don't ask me why. My eyes and fangirl radar do it on a whim without me can stop it.

OTP:

1. FRANKY/ROBIN - I think there's a lot of people out there who can explain better than me why this ship exists, lol. No offense, but I used to be Zoro/Robin shipper…until Water 7 arc changed my view ^^ Afaik, OP is one of many shonen mangas that never really focus on romance in its plot; it exists only for the sake of joke or to emphasize married couple relationship (Kyros/his wife or Neptune/Otohime, etc). But I'd be lying if I say I can't see these hints on both manga and anime (even games, omg!) directing to them that's, I dare to say, so obvious. For me, liking a character is quite different with liking a pairing. When I like a character, it based on his/her personality/appearance alone. But when I like a pairing, it based on the chemistry between the pair rather than the pair's personality/appearance. This is when I choose OTP tho, crack-pair aside, lol. That's why I don't mind Franky's hentai-robo appearance ^^ Oh, and I'd like to share this too :') Especially for FRobin shipper, have you guys seen it? >>
2. Shanks/Makino - They're lover hands down, lol xD Sorry, I just can't think anything else. When I saw Makino had baby and Oda's saying 'it's probably that person's kid' on SBS…either Oda's trolling with the fans or the baby is Shanks'. And I'm not buying the theory of the baby's actually Ace's, sorry.
3. Zoro/Perona - This might be my OTP I cannot back up with some good hints. It's more in implicit way, I guess. I mean, they lived together for 2 years which was longer than when Zoro in SHP. She should be the one who patched him back every time he got beaten up by Mihawk in their training session despite all her complaints. She guided him back to Shabaody, helped him escaping Navy, and appeared to be a bit disappointed when he finally left her, saying she needed to find a new toy. As much as I like the idea of pairing, I hope OP's ending won't be like that particular shonen jump manga's ending oTZ Pairing is okay, but please…make it appropriate to shonen genre. I enjoy Nakama-ship more than anything in OP and that's what get me hooked to this manga :')

The reason why would I ship these pairings because every time i see them together (either Zoro/Robin, Law/Robin) they look so cool and badass plus they have similarities in terms of their personalities. As for Aokiji x Robin, after watching their moments in One Piece Z, i began shipping them. That moment was so beautiful seeing Aokiji astonished and overwhelmed seeing Robin smiling while the sun shines to her face after raining.
I hate shipping frobin because Franky is sooo not to himself I mean his becoming a robot, but if his body turns into his normal self (without bulgy arms and legs) I think I might change my mind and add Frobin in my list.

Yupp agree with you hha. When i see robin-zoro or robin-law together, they look like badass couple and it's really adorable. But still i prefer robin x zoro for my fav pairing.
At least i love the way zoro treat robin. i never see zoro treat woman with polite and respect as he does to robin. I can see the similarities gesture when zoro treat other woman like nami, tashigi, vivi or perona, he was so easily to got angry with them or not take them seriously when they have conversation (although of course zoro not seriously underestimate them). And i like when zoro asked robin's permission first when he took robin's opponent in the mermaid island. Seems like he has a respect to robin as a strong fighter.^^

Anyway franky is cool too! Haha when zoro looks like so 'newbie' when it comes to how to handle woman, franky seems like he more expert and knows well way to treat woman hha. (What a playboy ;p)

So sometimes i made fanfic by myself about love triangle between zoro x robin x franky lol. I wonder if anyone else also interested with that kind of story. :p oh sometimes i also put law as well hoho.

if i see Oda makes zoro kiss a girl, i will definitely ship him with whatever-the-girl-is. Coz It's much different when we saw Franky kiss a girl, we still can see it as a jokes or something (although still, i was shock when i see it lol. the first time lips-kiss-scene in One Piece it was comes from franky lol lol), but if zoro kiss a girl…? i will be shock to the bones lol lol. nah, i guess we will never see that scene comes from Zoro until the end of Straw Hat journal.^^

I agree, at first I didn't see why people were saying its not mistletoe, that's what I thought it looked like after all.
Its because its the plastic stuff stores sell and companies and people say "Mistletoe!" when its really Holly. I've never seen the real plants.

I've seen real mistletoe on dead trees where I'm from because mistletoe is a type of parasite that effect certain trees.

I was aware of what they were, but not what they really look like.
Well, I should say I knew mistletoe was a parasitic plant that grew on trees while Holly is bigger plant shrub or tree (I cheated and went to wiki, turns out its both and also a climber, depending on what species of Holly - no wonder I couldn't make up my mind between shrub or tree! )
I did forget that that Holly had red berries while Mistletoe had white berries and I had no idea what their leaves looked like.

Zoro x Sanji and Luffy x Nami by far. Aside from a vocal minority Zoro x Robin pretty much died as soon as Franky x Robin came around, but even that one seems to have died now.

I've already started shipping Baby 5 x Sai and I've noticed that this chapter has brought out the Law x Baby 5 Shippers . As for Sai x Baby 5, My concern is how will the rest of the Dolflamingo family react. I also hope that We get to hear what Baby 5's real name is .
