Tears will be shed when we see the end of Corazon :cwy:
Also very classy of Oda to do that nice tribute to Naruto on the cover page, nice to see Nami again even if it is just on a cover.

Well…THAT went poorly. I don't remember a time where things looked more hopeless in a flashback. Everyone is dead, beaten, and surrounded by people who can and will kill them. Normally these flashback characters die a little quicker then this! It makes me wonder what Rocinante is going to do in the next chapter. My hope is that he at least gets to tell Donflamingo off before his death, but that's just me.
Chapter seemed a bit rushed..
Law just had to come across the ONE marine he shouldn't have… Tough luck.
Man Oda really knows how to lay it on thick with his flashbacks. Watching Vergo wreck was entertaining though. I can't wait to see how Doflamingo reacts when he finally sees Cora face to face.
Dellinger is the family's helmsman:ninja:
I'd say saving Dressrosa looks very important to Roci. Not sure how bringing Kaido to the island can be good.

I'm guessing he'll have a final talk with Dofla. Didn't Law say he wanted to fullfill Cora's last wish? Would that be ruining Doflamingo's schemes? That's what he was trying to do, after all.
Mad respect to Corazon
Damn, Oda, talk about bad luck. Give the man a little break.
I can actually see DD cutting off Corasan head while Law watch from is little hiding place
Damn, Oda, talk about bad luck. Give the man a little break.
He'll have 1 little victory when all is said and done, he saved Law's life and made sure he got away so that is something i guess.
hmm.. I'm thinking about this 'SMILE' thingy. is it inspired from rosi?
this falshback is too sad. here's a theory thats been on my mind for a while, what if law unintentionally and without knowing switched Roci's mind with a nearby polar bear and thought that Roci was dead?

could be, the titel of the chapter is written in katakana after all.

Then why didn't Beponante ever mention about himself?
Great cover and very emotinal ending. Made me shed some tears, while naruto wasn't even close to move me in any way and it was it's finale.^^
Love the tribute in the cover page. Today is a great day for us One Piece fans.
Solid chapter.
Fuck, this arc, many said much too similar to Alabasta.
The character developments and generating an obligation to love the characters, dear god.
And the guy that's been going on about why Vergo is in the island.
Dofy had doubts with Rociante, based on what he's said about him being right, doesn't that clearly dictate he was there on Dofy's order?
Tsuru vs The Donquixote Pirates anyone?
and travel more than half the north blue, since it's snowing and we are not on the grand line where wheather is crazy..if it's snowing it means it is far from the grand line
all this with no particular reason why he should be there,it's not like it's the only marineds in the entire world.
They need HQ Vice-Admirals to track Doula Mongo in the North Blue.
And this was a top secret mission involving a 5 Billion superpower. They needed stronger Marines (Grand Line Marines) for this one.
He'll have 1 little victory when all is said and done, he saved Law's life and made sure he got away so that is something i guess.
And I guess we know where Law's Jolly Roger comes from now.

Ask Darth, he'll tell you all about it.
But seriously, I'd expect more high profile marines here.

if have to guess, i would say to protect Law and keep dofa from knowing about him, because he'll obviously go after him if he knew he was alive.
Damn, Oda, talk about bad luck. Give the man a little break.
Am sure Vergo gave him a few breaks.
The little easter egg, probably mentioned before…
Am sure Vergo gave him a few breaks.
So cruel.
I just realized reading Law vs Vergo again will feel a lot more satisfying. Fucking die Vergooooo!
The little easter egg, probably mentioned before…
Who?
Reminds me of Marigold a little.
The little easter egg, probably mentioned before…
16 characters of who is she?
The little easter egg, probably mentioned before…
i remember seeing a similar looking girl in Amazon lily.
this one i guess?
Great stuff, but a bit confused about 1 thing: if the deal was to be made between Diez Barrels and the marines. . .why does Tsuru tell his men NOT to be seen, else the deal will go sour? Why? If anything, they should help Barrel, search for the fruit, it's in both of their interests, right?
That part I didn't understand.
BTW, kinda cool how it seems Tsuru and Doflamingo were playing cat and mouse for what seems like years. She must've been quite scary during her prime.
Goddammit Vergo.
Rosinante making a creepy face while smiling is definitely due to his clumsiness shtick.
Next chapter, though… I ain't ready to see this guy go.

Didn´t know she was working with marines
Very cool cover page with Luffy and Nami (cough let's hope they end up like Hinata and Naruto:ninja:)
It was awesome seeing a straw hat Jolly Roger painted on chapter 700 of naruto too, Oda must be over the moon.
I can't believe the Ope Ope fruit was worth 5 billion, does it have a secret ability?
P.s: Vergo :getlost:

If he wanted to protect Law, he would have told who he is so that Law wouldn't have a reason to go on a suicide rush against Doffy in the first place. Also Pekoms is exactly like Bepo.
Probably part of the reason present!Doflamingo doesn't mess with Tsuru is because she kicked his square arse round in the past. Now would be a good time for her to do so~
This chapter… I was having issue connecting emotionally to Rosi. I like him a lot as a character but for some reason I haven't been able to be all waaaah about his upcoming death.
...that smile at the end did me in. Good God, Oda, whyyyyy? It made me think of all the other smiling deaths we know of and now I'm getting teary-eyed again. Damnit. :<

The meeting wasn't supposed to be on Minion, if I remember well, but on Rubeck. Barrels probably wouldn't like it if he thought marines were on Minion to attack him and take the fruit. They could lose the chance of getting Ope ope in that case.

My guess is that they are not the particular Marines that Diez is supposed to meet. Basically, they have one team that will make the trade, and then another team that are there to clean up if things indeed go sour and to keep an eye on Doffy. After all, if Barrel learned that he was to meet several battleships and high-ranking marines, chances are that he'd turn tail and run, and lose the fruit in the process making it a no-winners situation.

I thought you meant Shakky for a moment but it would take more than a similar haircut to convince me it's her.
That's most definitely not Shakky.

Maybe she has a twin…
One of the best flashbacks. Better than this whole arc, even.
fuck that was so sad…I got teary eyed...A Smile! that last page omg

all the heart pirates know about Law's plan is that he only wants to destroy the factory and escape, which wouldn't seem suicidal at a first glance.

The deal was supposed to happen in Rubeck (another island) in 3 days.
If Barrels found out that he was being watched, there would be a "trust betrayal" and the deal would have gone sour.

Uh yes, it can grant immortality at the cost of the user's life.
Ok, totally forgot about Rubeck as the place of the deal. Actually, I was reading the chapter and thinking "man, why's Rubeck even there? What was its point?". So, yeah.
Two extra things about the chapter: kinda cute seeing Law trying to use "magic" to heal Rocinante. Tragically cute I'd say.
And also, it seems when Vergo went haki mode he also kicked Law's ass around. Nasty son of a (metal) bitch.
The little easter egg, probably mentioned before…
What if she is Pink rabbit from the sbs?
Man, this chapter had a lot of things in it, Vergo's beatdown of Law, Law eating the fruit, the activation of birdcage, Cora-san's upcoming death and the fact that Dressrosa fate could've been different but that info got into the wrong hands. I can imagine how guilty Law might feel about Dressrosa's situation
The little easter egg, probably mentioned before…
I immediately thought of her too when I saw that, maybe it's her kid. She is pretty old you know.
Seriously, that beatdown, even when kinda short, is so brutal. The final gut punch HURTS from seeing it. It fucking hurts.
I've always complained about Fairy Tail's lack of "oomph" and impact when people are punching/kicking each other, and how it was the opposite with One Piece, where the hits have a lot of weight. This chapter is THE living proof of that. Just watch both the first kick and the punch; they "feel" devastating.
Ed: BTW, Machvise's tail is super visible in here. It's like Oda is hammering us with the fact that Dellinger has a fin and Machvise has a tail much more than before the FB. I sure as hell hope this is implying they'll both get a fight when we go back to present day Dressrosa. That must be explained in detail.
Wow, this was a good chapter, I can already feels for next week. And Oda made a good homage to Naruto, good for him.
While we're at it, it's a nice touch that O Tsuru has several female officers around her. Oda does not portray strong women so often, so it'd be nice to see them kick ass.
One thing though : wouldn't Vergo's Marine ship be caught in the Birdcage as well ? He's gonna have a hell of a hard later on explaining HQ why he is the sole person on the island that 'mingo spared.
I can't believe the Ope Ope fruit was worth 5 billion, does it have a secret ability?
Does. It makes people immortal, and also as a side effect turns the user into a darkly handsome overpowered badass
@superv:

Look, Bepo isn't Rocinante! There's no sensible reason he would have kept it hidden from Law and he wouldn't have let him go against Doffy by himself. Bepo is just a talking animal like Pekoms. It's gonna be explained later on.
