I think adding Michael Bay's name all over the film (when he's only one of 5 producers) is a interesting strategy.
"New Turtles film? eh… that's cool I guess..."
"MICHAEL BAY!!!! OMG HE'S GONNA RUIN IT I HATE THAT GUY"
It gets people talking... interested in it. Keeping their eye on it. Buying tickets. Turtles have always been sorta in and out with their popularity.
I'd be more concerned that the guy that directed Darkness Falls and Wrath of the Titans is the director... yeesh..
I think it looks fun. I was expecting something god awfully offensive. And I wanted to hate it like everyone else...
But what I saw was 4 Mutant Turtles flipping around like Ninjas. Splinter is a giant rat! Mikey talking like a surfer and being immature and skateboarding. Stuff like "My sons" "They kidnapped your brothers" "I've trained you to protect the world above"
The Raph fan in me was like "YESSSSSS" he doesn't get captured! Then he's taking on Super(mecha) Shredder.
Them seemingly USING their weapons. Cause despite being a card carrying Turtles kid... on the front lines of Turtle-effing-mania... I still always wanted them to actually use their weapons. I would always say "Hit him! Slice him up Leo!!"
And if that kid me saw that trailer i'd have shit my pants and exploded with sheer excitement.
And I think it's kinda funny that the Skrillex song they used was "Reptile". heh
