@RobZilla:
This is the great thing about A Song of Ice and Fire, pretty much everyone has their flaws and you can effectively pick your side.
Apart from the Starks (who are obviously the de facto heroes) every other character has both good and bad qualities that will appeal to different sorts of people. Also, no matter how cuntish they are, there is always a backstory to at least partly explain why they're like that.
You don't really get any irrationally evil people, apart from maybe Ramsay. He's just a complete psychopath though.
So yeah, liking the Lannisters (Tywin is also one my favourite characters, despite seeming like a steretypical bad guy at first) makes total sense.
Well said. I really like the Lannisters overall, to be honest. I like their flaws, and I like their motivations. Lots of them have done some fucked up shit, but it all makes sense and is completely in-character. So you can hate them for it, or you take a moment and try to realise that under their circumstances, you probably would do the same.
I mean, throwing Bran of that tower for example. Had he told anyone, their whole family would probably be ruined, his relationship with Cersei would have fallen apart (possibly), Robert might have killed her at some point. It was terrible and drastic, but it made total sense and can easily be understood. Or am I slightly nuts in the head? I can empathise well there.
