I think the biggest difference between Ace and Luffy as far as strength is going to end up with Luffy becoming stronger than Ace was and could have been because of Haki. People too often forget that Haki is literally Ambition or a manifestation of the person's will power. Ace wanted to make WhiteBeard the pirate king while Luffy is shooting for that goal himself. Ace was far too vexed with questions about his own existence where Luffy's only ambitions are to protect people and have the most freedom. Thus I believe Luffy post timeskip ,with his direct Haki training under Rayleigh, gives him the advatage over Ace who immediately set off into his pirating career without specific years of training (that we know of).
Luffy and his crew should be above all of the other SuperNova and their crew in personal strength and ability, but are lacking in the experience and knowledge the other crews have obtained. Oda made it a point to separate the crews this way and provide emphasis on the timeskip training.
How this relates to the Yonkou. Whitebeard so far is our best representation of what a crew structure looks like and the other Yonkou crews will have similarities in Divisions like BlackBeard does, but some crews like Shanks seem to keep the commanders together at all times. We simply need more information in that regard. Ace being strong enough to be a Division Commander, and Luffy aiming not to take out division commanders but the Yonkou themselves, will eventually lead to Luffy undoubtedly surpassing Ace and the other division commanders of the other crews. Luffy has to be Yonkou level by EoS and we the story having been stated to be half way over (60% I thought I had read somewhere) doesn't give much time for Luffy to make multiple leaps in power. Without more timeskips which seem unlikely Luffy likely is a few major battles from his EoS power. These conjectures might seem way too fast, but we have to reason in the given timeframe that Marineford was a good representation of EoS strengths.
Just my opinons, Oda could certainly move things slower and give Luffy many many more power growth opportunities, but the way I see it he's aiming for the top and he's closer than most people would like to think.

The multiple moons theory has some flaws, the least of which is that Oda went out of his way to make it so that you only ever see one moon in the sky at night, and that you can track the pattern of that moon to tell how long the story had been going on. If there was more than one moon, we'd have seen them.

Isshou was brought into the marines by the global conscription.
The incident with Bege was almost immediately after Marineford.
It doesn't add up.

Maybe the WG wanted to test their recruits, and Fujitora earned his admiral title by arresting Capone and a few other strong pirates? Kinda like law earned his shichibukai title by delivering a bunch of pirate hearts.

Well it didn't look that way to me though he actually said he was testing his "strength a little". It seemed more like he was just using that as an excuse to attack and to openly display what he's capable of while kinda downplaying his awareness of how strong he is like when kizaru faces opponets and says statements like "how scary".
I always intetpereted that as sort of a personality quirk of being overly humble . I remember Doflamingo sort of "calling his bluff" on that one.

I wonder, before Fujitora joined the Marines who were his peers\opponents? Lots of strong folks in OP, love it. There isn't a complete monopoly on power like many other mangas\animes. There's the Marines, Government, Cipher Pol, Pirates, Bounty hunters, different Navies and armies, shichibukai, samurais, amazonions, Revolutionares, etc… threats can come from just about anywhere and even the PK can't ever relax because theres a constant shift in power with new talent poping up all over.

In all honesty, I don't see it that way. The war showed us that top Yonkou commanders are not really on the Admiral level. I see no reason for Kaido's crew to be stronger than Whitebeards.
This, the Marineford war should've cleared this up for us. We were shown how top yonko commanders perform when pitted against 'the admiral' (excuse the grammer, thats how they'd say it in OP). Though I'm sure they're individual differences (e.g Kizaru vs Ben Beckman).

Does anyone else get the feeling that the only Yonkou Luffy will ever defeat 1v1 is Blackbeard? Big Mom just seems like the type of character that's going to take multiple crews' collaboration to bring down, ditto for Kaidou if he has the Typhon mythical zoan. Not to mention there needs to be a development in power, and having Luffy take out, say Kaidou 1v1 before his fight with BB is going to cheapen the difficulty of that final encounter.
Yeah, Kizaru didn't seem all too worried that Beckman aimed a gun at him.
On the other hand, Beckman daring to threaten Kizaru should also say a little. According to an SBS, he has the highest IQ out of anyone introduced in East Blue saga (Nami 2nd, Kuro 3rd). The fact he's not afraid of Kizaru should be indicative. Makes you wonder how well he'd do in a fight against him.
