I saw a few torrents at nyaa xD I have heard about them but never took the initiative to download an episode. OP's pacing may be slow atm but I am thoroughly satisfied.

Is putlocker not working for you? How come?
Also, YouTube has an automated block system for One Piece so it wont work unless I mirror it which would be awful.

Yeah, it's not working for me for some reason. Is it possible to upload it to a known website that hosts videos?

I've tried Vimeo (Videos were taken down), RuTube (unbrowsable, everything was in Russian), 56.com (unbrowsable, everything was in Chinese), Videoweed (Streaming was slow because of bad servers), YouTube (Videos were taken down), Dailymotion (Videos were taken down).
PutLocker.com is the only site that've worked for most users and where the stream is fine. What browser are you using? Also did you press "Continue as Free User" to access the stream?

What's different about v2?
-
@Mr.:
What's different about v2?
It's 5 minutes shorter (more filler cut out, cuts less obvious), was edited in Sony Vegas (1-4 was originally edited in Camtasia, uses the newer preset, so higher quality, and total size of file cut in half).
NW2 v2 was 10 minutes shorter, with the same improvements.

So, being ignorant with this sort of thing, I have no idea of what to do once the file's been downloaded… any help/useful links? I have the file in it's .wkv.torrent format but I don't know what to do from there.
Here's a suggestion to upload to HTML5 video sites as well, for I watch most my anime through such sources, as flash doesn't work on most my devices. Thanks for all the work regardless, I've been watching it again with a friend and we're almost at Thriller Bark!

There are the streaming links if you don't know how torrents work, and if you really wanna watch the downloaded version, there're also DDL links, but if that isn't enough, you can download µTorrent and open the .torrent with it. When the download is done, you simply open the .mkv in your media player. Preferred media players are either MPC-HC or VLC.

Hi, since Punk Hazard is coming to a close, is there going to be one large torrent for this saga? Fishman Island had episodes 1-24 in one folder so I was wondering if it would be the same for PH. Thank you so much for your work, I really enjoy the episodes!

We plan on doing v2s for at least New World 25-34 (All made before we started using the new rendering preset, and before Sewil had more editing experience) They'll likely be done using the Blu-Rays, but that's only if they're released on Nyaa.
Currently, we're working on V2s for NW 1-24 though (1-3 are released, and 4 is edited). 1-4 was a slow process, since they had to be completely redone due to not being edited in Sony Vegas originally, but 5-24 should be much faster. Until these are done though, we won't be doing 25-34, so it'll probably be a few months before a batch is made for Punk Hazard. If you don't already have the episodes, I'd just suggest downloading them one by one.
Also, update on releases since we haven't released in a while. Whitebeard War Episode 20 is timed and should be out in the next few days if no problems arise. New World 45 is half-way timed, and is awaiting Episode 623 from Yibis. Finally, as stated above, New World 4 v2 is edited, and will probably be released sometime within the next week.

Just a tip in case you don't know. The filler episode 626 has about a page worth of canon material at the beginning (from ch 799) and also an appearance of the "bunny wave" from chapter 700 which hasn't otherwise been covered in the anime. So when you get around to this part of your New World project, intercut these scenes where they belong: in the canon narrative.

We noted this down earlier, but thanks for the tip!
Gonna be pretty impossible to include the bunny wave from this episode, so hopefully they depict it again in the episode of Chapter 700.
Also, update on NW45 and I guess 46: It's uploaded, and will be released whenever Sewil wakes up. And since there's a filler arc, 46 won't be out until the rest of 699 is covered.
-
Oh yeah, that bunny wave was during relatively calm waters and clear skies in ch 700 wasn't it? Sadly I'm thinking Toei won't bring it back but hopefully I'm wrong.

Well, I don't see why they would just skip it.

So are you guys responsible for this?
Just wanted to say thanks.
Any chances on doing Dressrosa on-going or you're gonna focus on previous arcs?

Yes, Sewil edits it, and I time it.
Dressrosa is definitely going to get done. We'll be focusing on Whitebeard War and New World v2s at the same time as we are the newer episodes.
We've been ongoing with the new episodes for a while now though. We only got behind because we were waiting for the rest of Chapter 699 to be covered (it was covered in Episode 628), so that'll be out within the next few days, along with Whitebeard War Episode 21 as well.

Cool. Nice to see you're going strong.
I only made it through FI thanks to your work.

Whitebeard War Episode 21 released
News time, dub vs. sub?
Since FUNimation releases their DVDs in 5.1 audio, it's possible to isolate the voices from the episodes, meaning that there would be no background music while they're talking. This makes it possible to edit the episodes much faster and gives me many more possibilities. For example, making the chapter/episode ratio much higher, maybe squeezing in 3 whole chapters in 20 minutes? This would also improve the editing quality a lot. However, there's would be a price for all of this; and that is dub-only releases. Right now me and Galaxy have disagreed on what to do about it, but I would like to release dub only without subtitles for a much faster pace and improved editing.
So what do you think? Would you prefer subtitled video with a slower pace or dubbed video with a fast pace and improved editing?
This would only affect the oncoming CP9 Saga, though, as FUNimation haven't caught up any further.
Here's an example video of a battle without music, which lets me add any type of background song I want to it:

Oh god no. Dub should be burned down.
It kinda defeats the whole point of making it closer to manga if you have terrible dub with terrible translation. I'm not watching dubbed anime period.
Nothing should be removed or changed in anime apart from fillers. -
It's a cool idea and maybe you could do a test episode like that to see how it works with the dub, but I strongly prefer the subs. I've been catching some friends up with the series and once we got to where your paced episodes began, it made the series so much more enjoyable! I only dread that we'll catch up too quick, on New World ep 11 now. So I encourage you to keep doing it how you're doing it, but that's just my 2 cents.

To Sewil, Galaxy 9000 and everyone involved in this project I would like to leave my most sincerest and amazed thank you.
In all honesty this project of yours just sounds and looks amazing.I entered the world of One Piece through the anime so many years ago, and in all honesty I wasn't the easiest person to convince into watching a show, this because I have never really watched that many animes, and something as goofy and silly as One Piece would have a hard time turning me into a fan ( It's because I'm a dumbass xD).
The first episode of One Piece I caught on TV had this clown that could break himself into little pieces and this other dude with a strawhat that could stretch … I'm not very proud about what I'm about to say but I changed channel. Then one day I caught a episode involving a boy with green hair and his ambition to become the best swordsman in the world, this episode had so much going for it, it had heart, character and humour at times. Upon figuring out this anime was One Piece I gave it a try and have been a fan ever since. But alas I stopped watching the anime around the Thriller Bark arc and made the transition to manga. The anime just felt a bit slow and I hate, HATE still frames xD.
So in conclusion before the new year I started watching your Whitebeard war arc, I watched one episode a day and found it very enjoyable. Then I tried watching some of the original episodes and found that the episodes were a bit boring and watching one a day wasn't as enjoyable as one of your episodes. On the Sub vs Dub question, I am in the subs all the way camp :P
-
Posted this on your website but I want to add it to the discussion here too
At first i want to say that I am very thankful for this project and like it a lot I am not a fan of the dub and I dislike the voices. The japanese dub is much more atmospheric and not so over-the-top in my opinion. So I would prefer a subbed version (It’s also a bit distracting for me that there are so many voice actors from Dragon Ball as it’s dubbed by Funimation). For the pace, on one hand this can be good to go a lot faster through the arcs but on the other hand episodes like New World 44 already feel almost too fast paced. I would like the pace of the episodes you already did a lot more cause they still leave room to breathe and emphasize on situations. But these are just my two cents as it is your project

I'm really glad you enjoy it, it's what keeps us going!
Myself, I got into One Piece with the volumes. My brother had brought some volumes to this rock festival which I picked up and got interested immediately. I later (about half a year) started watching the anime and marathoned it for about a month until I picked up the manga since I'm impatient and don't like to wait for content.

The most recurring thing people have said about NW44 is that it was too fast paced, I believe the reason for that was that there was no pauses, few establishing shots, and no time to breathe. If you look at the earliest episodes of One Piece (1-6), they were all 1:4 in ratio, and it worked, and the reason for it was that they had pauses, and then had the pace in-between these pauses incredibly high. Re-watching NW44, I can see that there's just no time to breathe, and you sit at the edge of your sit throughout the entire thing instead. This is something I've tried to change in NW46, and I think it works really well with more pauses, and it's not like it affects the length in any major way. The pauses can be from 4-6 seconds long each.
Anyway, I've seen both on the website and in this thread that everyone prefers sub over dub, so that's what we're gonna go with.
However, I might do a separate version down the line which will be dub-only (since it's so much easier to edit, it will be much faster), but the sub version will definitely be released.

It kinda defeats the whole point of making it closer to manga if you have terrible dub with terrible translation. I'm not watching dubbed anime period. You don't watch dubbed anime at all and yet you claim that it's a "terrible dub with terrible translation"… Complaining About Shows You Don't Watch much? In the 300+ episodes FUNi has dubbed, I can think of precisely two moments where the translation was off. ("The reason they call the Grand Line a Pirate Graveyard is because of Arlong and the other two forces like him who reside there!", and a remark about Zoro having killed Mr. 1.)
-
Figured I put my 2 cents, at least consider trying it once, to let us see the project, and I must ask those to show respect to the people that put their heart into their characters. No need to act like an elitist jack azz just because you don't like a particular version. I for one, who adores the original seiyuu, prefer the dub as it sounds more natural to me, would love to hear how it sounds.

I think people reject dubbing because they're simply used to the Japanese language being connected to anime. Personally, I think the dub is fine. It could be better, but there's really nothing wrong with it.
Also, there's a difference between translating something incorrectly and changing the wording of a sentence to make it seem more natural.

As it looks now we'll probably go with the subtitle-releases, but I will most likely release a special version with dub-only that will be much faster paced.
-

I know, but both those lines I referred to were in fact flat-out wrong. As in, they give the audience information that just simply is not true. Arlong is not one of the three great powers (The Seven Warlords, The Four Emperors and the World Government) that makes people fear the Grand Line, he's just got connections to one of them. And Mr. 1 was obviously not dead.
-
I'd like to see a dub version for no other reason that I love the dub as much as the Japanese version and would like a paced version of it to watch later.
I'm gonna buy FUNi's DVDs because I support the series, so I'm in it for the long haul, and I WILL watch them, but without them re-paced, I will probably never rewatch them post EL… and that's a shame. Plus, I have a friend who prefers the dub, and it'd be nice to be able to watch it with her.
One Pace is already the only way we can watch this series since the timeskip. She didn't even want to watch the WBW... I had to describe to her what happens so we could skip it she was so pissed at the pacing.
-
I buy all of the FUNimation DVDs, yet I have not found the motivation to watch many of them. The pacing is so terrible in the episodes that I just can't find the time. However, I absolutely love their dub of the show. Sewil, despite what others have said about the "terrible" dub (they must have never watched the 4Kids dub if they think FUNimation's is terrible), I'd love a version of Enies Lobby to watch dubbed with good pacing. The 5.1 track would make the edits less obvious, and make for better music choices if so desired. If you find the time, I'd love to see a dubbed version of One Pace. Your project is the only thing that makes me hopeful for the anime, as Toei's pacing will likely never improve the way it should. I'd be so sad if you ever had to stop.
-
Hi,
Are you the Vegard Aune responsible for the translations of the yibis episodes ?
If so, thanks for the hard work :DOn the question about japanese vs english I just prefer japanese because it gives the anime a more surreal affect.
I have watched a few of Miyazaki's movies in both dubbed and subbed versions and I have to say I have always liked the subbed version more because it always gave the movie a somewhat magical feel. Lol I bet I sound stupid right now :P -

Actually, I was referring to people who seem to think that translations that are "americanized" are wrong, while they are not. The examples you gave were clear examples of translations that are incorrect.

So… you were correct. Toei didn't include the bunny wave in 629, so unfortunately, there won't be a way to add it into New World 47.
In other news, we now have a "schedule" on our website, telling what episodes will be released on what days (5 days apart, always, minus delays). We thought the inconsistent release schedule was getting weird, so we decided to do this. The best thing about this, is it allows us to get ahead by a pretty good amount, which will allow the episodes to be released, even if we are busy for a 5 day period. Here's the link: http://theonepace.wordpress.com/progress/
