So did I. It used double team like 4 times and raised is evasion like crazy and kept healing.

Unfortunately I had hone-edge out so its evasion didn't work.

Do you already have the Megaring that you get during the story?
If so you need Venasaur to hold the Venasaurite and in battle choose Megaevolution in the move menu.

Same happened to me, but all the other gym leaders have just been a little to easy i think.

FINALLY I got to the move relearner and forgetter.
I've reworked all my movesets, but I'm still afraid of letting my Helioptile evolve,
because WHAT IF it learns a good move in afew levels that I'd miss out on.

Playing without knowing all of my Pokemons Levelup-Moves is scary.

I Love that i can have over 100 pokemón seen and i'm not even in the first gym (i don't know how i ended playing like 8 hours in Pokemón Amie) although i keep getting my ass kicked in online battles.

edit: Also, the bonuses that you get for every extra heart in your pokemón are really cool.

In the first gym, the leader's last Pokémon had one hell of defense. I didn't end up getting killed but I needed four Water Pulses to defeat it.

By the way, I'm now at Luminose City. I didn't explore it the whole of it, only got my Kanto starter (Squirtle) and I'm going to train it before I explore the city. My team is, as of now; Frogadier, Fletchinder, Combusken and Squirtle.
