BIG HONKIN’ TOONAMI ANNOUNCEMENT!
Hey everybody! Just wanted to drop you all a line and announce a couple pieces of Toonami news.
First, we are proud to announce that Toonami will be WORLD PREMIERING the new series from Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) and Studio BONES (FMA, Soul Eater, many more), SPACE DANDY! SPACE DANDY is a 26 episode series that will be premiering in the U.S. BEFORE it premieres in Japan (yep, you read that right)! Details on that to follow soon.
Oh, and when will it premiere? Sooner than you think- January 4th, at 11:30 PM.

Yep, you read that right. Space Dandy will kick off an expanded 6-1/2 HOUR TOONAMI broadcast every Saturday. Toonami Faithful, we got our extra half hour!
Oh, you’re STILL not satisfied? Fine. We have some other great news that will be coming in the next few weeks, but until then we’ll drop one more little tidbit: In December, Toonami will take a break from our regular schedule and have a bit of holiday fun, with three weeks in a row of a movie special to kick off the block! What movies, you ask? Well, you’ll have to wait a bit on that.
Finally- if you have more questions about all this, GOOD- ask them here! We’ll be doing our monthly Toonami Q&A this Sunday from 11am et, to whenever we hit the tumblr post limit! Remember, your question could end up on our monthly on-air Tumblr Q&A session with Tom and Sara.
WHEW- okay. Keep your eyes locked right here over the next few weeks for more details on all of this, as well as some other VERY exciting developments we can’t talk about yet. That is really great pick up and we are getting a simulcast series. And it nice that Toonami is starrting a half hour early soon. Now the question is what will be the movies in December. I have a feeling we probably going to get Bleach Movies 3 and 4. But I'm also hoping for Strong World.

Getting Space Dandy to appear in the US before Japan was a smart move, now there's actual incentive to watch Toonami as they got something that viewers can't watch free subbed on a website. Not to mention something they've already seen.

There are no silly questions, oddly enough I remember maybe 2 weeks ago where they aired some of those tumblr questions. One of them was about airing subtitles, Tom said and I'm paraphrasing, we can't air them or something to that effect.
So it has to be dubbed.
So the show starts earlier, we get a simulcast anime series ON NETWORK TV for the first time I can think of, we get some movie nights, more new/old shows with the usual 2 month schedule change ups and more and more tidbit surprises.
All I have to say is that this absolutely ROCKS! Say what you will about the shows they air but the fact that they constantly add and expand on a pretty consistent basis like this is mindblowing, not to mention the fact that they have given us pretty much everything we have asked for and continue to do so. To think its been over a year and it just keeps getting better and it all starting with the best april fools joke ever.
Bravo toonami and the toonami faithful, bravo. Let's keep it up and keep watching. It doesn't matter if you are just leaving your TV's on at night and sleeping, keep it up.

I'd say that's pretty big news. This good on so many levels, especially since we won't have to sift through filler hell and and finally pick up where many fans left off. I personally have never watched the shippuden anime and only started reading the manga 2 or 3 years ago.

No, I know that. I love One Piece waaayyy more anyways, but the rivalry between the fans is no reason for people not to be glad that new episodes of a very popular show are coming to Toonami.

No, that's not really the same thing at all, and it's nowhere near as stupid. I believe pretty much the entirety of Naruto (including filler hell) aired on Toonami a few years ago. With Little Garden, they didn't even bother dubbing it, so it didn't even exist on a production level.

Have seen all of them, and all are great films. Also, I'm also surprised about the FMA pick, even though I think COS is good in its own right.
