! In the instant Starjun unsheathes his sword, a huge pillar of fire will ensue.
Toriko II: Ichiryuu's Slimy Insides!!

! I cannot see how a flaming sword would be more practical than being able to conjure up flames.

! Mansam's rape face is so ROCK!
A fast overview of the events around (Kuribou is knocked on the ground!) and then we return to Toriko vs. Starjun. And maybe Starjun pulled out his trump card. And Grinpatch came back (I hope he won't die, now!).
Joejoe is overviewing the battles… -
This chapter was orgasmic, from the first to the last page.
! -Grinpatch? Check
-Joe Joe taking interest in Zebra? Check
-Badass President, Vicepresident and Chief? Check
-Toriko literally dumbfounded before Starjun's burning techinques and flame knife? Check
! No alcohol in the chapter, it seems Skadi was right. -
Huh? Alcohol? When I said "for his sake" I didn´t meant sake as in alcohol…
! GRINPATCH LOST A FRIGGIN EYE
! Well, I guess he´s gonna need… A green patch
-gets punched into next week- -
I suppose you didn't read Gizmo's post then.
Huh? Alcohol? When I said "for his sake" I didn´t meant sake as in alcohol…
! GRINPATCH LOST A FRIGGIN EYE
! Well, I guess he´s gonna need… A green patch
-gets punched into next week-Toriko confirmed below the other three in strenght and power.
! Sunny kills Tommyrod and Coco manages to gouge out one of Grinpatch's eyes, while Zebra is having fun with 3 NITRO!!!!

Huh? Alcohol?
! GRINPATCH LOST A FRIGGIN EYE
! Well, I guess he´s gonna need… A green patch
-gets punched into next week-When you wrote your summary earlier, you based it off of google translate, right?
! Because when I used it, the word sake was in there, but when checking for other translations it turned out to be the sake as in the alcohol, not the other sake, hence why I thought you misinterpreted the google translation. If not, I really apologize.
! I was wrong about how the word sake was used in the chapter, but I'm asking you if the translation actually said Shigematsu stopped Mansam to stop him from going berserk. -

! Based on the panels, it seems Mansam recalls the first time he met the President, where he was going into a rampage and had to be stopped by him. Exactly what Shigematsu did.
-
Nah, it´s ok, you don´t need to apologize. I used the word sake without knowing it was actually mentioned as alcohol on the resume P:
-
Well I was still wrong since I overstepped my boundaries and was incorrect for how the word was used in the chapter.
! @Nekketsu, Seems like Skadi was misinformed about the summary, but you can still be right. I'm not saying Shigematsu can't a double agent, but Mansam's face at the end doesn't look like he thinks what Shigematsu did was for his sake, unless that twisted smile is just meant to be how he looks like when he's grateful.
! As for the rest of the chapter, thought Grinpatch and Mansam's part was going to be much bigger than that. The pacing of the rest of the fights was what I expected before the tournament was interrupted. Wish they got/will get more focus, but I don't think the other fights are going to get the same focus as Elg and Tommyrod. Realize I've said that the last few weeks but this chapter just reinforces that thought in my mind.
! JoeJoe's appearance I'm guessing will signify his involvement with Neo, but I'm curious what else he's saying.
! And finally, Toriko vs Starjun is heating up (har har puns). Finally some back and forth, and Starjun's attacks looks pretty cool. -
! lol at zebra putting the nitro in a headlock. shit is hilarious
-
! Shigematsu hasn't even opened his left eye yet. Dude must be ridiculous at full power, if he can stop a rampaging Mansam.
-
You probably haven't noticed, but…
! Shigematsu moved Mansam to the stadium. Take a good look at the color of the soil they are now.
-
! And anyone noticed that Kuribou has been knocked to the ground?
-
! And anyone noticed that Kuribou has been knocked to the ground?
! And Koisarou staying idly and doing absolutely nothing. And I don't know if Grinpatch lost an eye or is just the scan. And just how many forks and knives at once has Starjun burned down.

! In all this mess where the hell is Rei, IGO DEFENSE DIRECTOR? I can't believe he was one of the guys killed by Uumen. So where is he? Damn!

an it's out. off to read -
You guys were right, it was because of the scan. His eye is there, but sorta darkened. Maybe he got it blinded?
-
All this image talk, reminds me of genjuutsu yawn
-
Huh…Coco got off screened? I'm kinda surprised the fight wasn't shown at all. Unless he's secretly a villain too and he just wandered off lol.
Overall the chapter was a bit weird. It's nice to get an update but I don't get why Toriko's fight needed to be broken up like that. -
good chapter
I'm fine with stars first real display of his ability, the moves are pretty basic but used effectively with some typical shima explanations to how how hot it can get, he sure loves going into detail with these things. I'm still kind of fighting with the whole mental image thing, but at least Shima is pretty damn good at making his fights easy to follow, so the whole thing seems less confusing and vague.
Jojo is pretty much confirmed now to be a Neo member, no big surprise there.
I hope we'll see Coco climb out of the hole and summarize the battle for us, would be a shame for him to be the only heavenly king to not get an extended battle scene. If we get that, I'm fine with this being a stalement, not every fight in this arc needs to end with the brutal death of one of the participants.
Also, Zebras scene is hilarious, stomping on a nitros neck and having one in deadlock, lol. Maybe this will satisfy some guys here who where originally dissapointed with the alleged fodderization of the nitros, or maybe that makes them just look weaker, dunno. -
"My fork is as hard as iron."
Normal forks are harder.Shima pls.
I've seen other mangaka compare things to iron rather than anything stronger. Why do they always do that instead of the more obvious choice (steel)?
-
Go on with Mansam vs Shigematsu, Shima. My body is ready
-
There are tons of types of steel but:
Steel isn't much harder than Iron. Using Mohs scale steel and iron rank around 4 points both of them. Of course it changes with the carbon that the steel posses in it. The more carbon, the more brittle it but harder it becomes.
There is hardened steel, but its the result of tempering, which does increase how hard it is, yet it increases it's brittleness. You usually dont want super hard metals, they dont bend, they just crack and break.
Also the melting point of steel is lower than iron.
-
Who's JoeJoe talking to? Joa?
-
I think he is, yeah. since the other members of NEO are awaiting his(?) arrival
-
wait, so JoeJoe is a NEO and not a Bishokukai?
maybe it just me but this last 3-4 chapter, their art were really good.. -
If Joa is going after Komatsu, it gives Starjun/Toriko an excuse to end the fight on a draw. Probably ending up in a team up where they both get owned actually.

@Zp1: This idea actually reminds me something I said on a Toriko chat some weeks ago. About an scenario on which "Komatsu is abducted by NEO instead of the Bishokukai". Tho my theory continued like this "Toriko believes he was kidnapped by someone else from the Bishokukai, so he actually keeps going after them"
-

Come on guys, don't be so fussy.
It's pretty clear Shima used "iron" as a pretence to show Starjun fire ability. In fact he can melt instantly that fork that has melting temperature of 2800°F (over 1530°C).
So he could be able to cook BB Corn at Wul Volcanos without problems.
Now Star can fight seriously. I think Toriko will be beaten badly starting from now.
@AtomicFruit:All this image talk, reminds me of genjuutsu yawn
I still can't understand. Why?
Did you guys ever practice any competitive sport? When you approaches a match that you MUST win you concentrate on it with all your strenght and you create in your mind a sort of "image" of what to do to win, even if it's an impossible match to win. And that's what Toriko is doing!Anyway, who is Joejoe talking to? Do you thinks it's Joa? But we deserve to see him fighting, damn! He's (if HE is him) talking about a certain chef to be secured…Personally, no doubt he's talking about Komatsu. Why? If Joa is Four Beast Mastermind, well, don't forget he went to Gourmet Pyramid to take the famous recipes book. And Komatsu is the actual owner of that book.
Moreover, Joa needs to put an end not only to Starjun vs.Toriko fight but to Zaus+Kousairou+Kuribou vs.Setsuno too (sorry granny, but I think you have to die ).
Hope Shima won't skip Mansam vs.Shigematsu!
And hope Grinpatch won't die! -
To this point is still not clear if Shige is NEO or not, what with he moving Mansam to the stadium and waiting there. Not to mention Mansam himself asking him for some booze.
-
In your opinion guys, what happened between Coco and Grin?
-
Coco got the upper hand, poisoned the hell out of Grin. Grin managed to damage Coco. Thinking he won he left the left. But the whole poison shit will strike at him even more after leaving the underground. Coco emerges from the underground and tells him that he used a lot of hex poison against him and even to protect himself. After a brief flashback what exactly happen underground the fight continues on the surface. Zebra wants to join the fight but is "scared" of Cocos intimitation and decides to let Coco handle Grins cockyness alone.
-
Is anyone there who thinks Grinpatch has…eaten Coco?
I hope Grin has the upper hand despite Coco being a co-protagonist. Shima, don't kill Grinpatch, please, don't kill him! -
Is anyone there who thinks Grinpatch has…eaten Coco?
How so?
Also, no one apart from me is confused about Shigematsu? He stabbed Mansam from the back, yet he moved him to the stadium and waited for him to wake up, and now the later is back to his senses (the pupils in his eyes) and asks him for some booze. Strange…
-
How so?
He sucked him. But Coco is poisonous and so Grin is bleeding.
@Nekketsu:Also, no one apart from me is confused about Shigematsu? He stabbed Mansam from the back, yet he moved him to the stadium and waited for him to wake up, and now the later is asking him for some booze. Strange…
Maybe he want to have a fair and square fight against Mansam, don't you think? I'm sure Shigematsu, despite his betrayal is still a fair guy. And I bet he'll give Mansam some booze to recover before fighting him. I think he's motivated by the fact Mansam lost a fight only to Ichiryuu.
-
or he isn't part of the bad guys and just wanted to stop Mansam to go rampage.
-
In both cases he has to defeat him.
-
I'll laugh a lot if Shigematsu only did this to provoke Mansam and fight him. The absence of Rin is also very suspicious.
I will mantain my theory that Ichiryuu has double-agents in NEO.
-
Man, i hate this thread.
-
maybe there are even triple agents on board.
-
Man, i hate this thread.
The question is, do you hate it more than the hiatus x hunter thread?
-
YES Mansan is back destroy some ****.
Seing Zebra single handed the nitros on his own was funny for some reason.
Doubting that Coco is defeated.
And finaly the the fight between Toriko and Starjun is interesting me. -
-
I agree with both the Shigematsu theories: him wanting to fight Mansam, who only lost to Ichiryuu, and him being a double agent.
Would be easier to know his true intentions if he had appeared in the manga more often.
I can´t even imagine what happened on Grin vs Coco but I know we´ll get a flashback of it.
