! So we might be getting closer to Attilan this season which is very nice.
Are you sure that's what it is? Hadn't thought about it, but that would be pretty amazing.

A really good episode. I skipped last week but here are some random notes again:
! Everything Ward(s) was amazing. He's so much fun when he's crazy. I think. Whose idea was it again to throw Thomas down the well? Probably Grant's…
! Fitz is getting better physically which is good to see.
! Hunter and Bobbi are still cool. I really enjoy their dynamic.
! Mack is starting to worry about Coulson which is probably understandable but not something we need right now.
! MacLachlan is a joy to watch. His conversation with Coulson was suspenseful and the ending scene with him, Whitehall and Ward was great.
! Dichen Lachman is Skye's mother! Can we please get flashbacks with her? Or see her in the afterlife, whichever.
! Trip was dying for a while there. For meta reasons I thought that he might actually be killed off but sadly I wouldn't have cared much.
! What else? The Agent Carter flashbacks were neat, intertwined as they were. Simmons is Hydra brainwashed. Or Bobbi. Or maybe the writers just wanted to put the idea out there and have us doubt...
! Too bad that there's another break next week because the ratings actually went up this episode. I'm hyped if you couldn't tell.

The story is really picking up and I'm loving it.
Mid-season finale opened up the floodgates for Marvel. Here's hoping that means the show is given more attention with regards to its storytelling, but the show's been much more solid this season than the first, and I felt like the show was already better once the HYDRA reveal was done last season.
I have really been enjoying this season and this episode definitely has raised my interest. A lot of things went over my head (because I don't read the comics), but a few things seemed like a big deal with how they were delivered.
! The father saying his name was Cal. That just came off as odd, so I assume that means something. Daisy as well because why hide the name from the get-go if it wasn't to hide something comic related (or even hint it with the humming of Daisy Bell). Also, thank god that Skye isn't her real name.
! I did see Triplett dying… usually that is how things go when an actor is part of another show and scheduling conflicts.
! Also, awesome when Skye shot Ward... without saying anything dumb first to get his attention to boot!
Anyways, that ending… no idea what the F, but I am excited.
Okay now that we had the big reveal, everyone meet Skye:
These are spoilers for tonight's SHIELD and possibly a little beyond.
They also didn't "explain" what happened in the ending in the show…but it's confirmed this is what happened at the end.
! I dunno the extent of the implications here given "Skye's" origins have changed.

! Well it seems like that they have kept both Skye and her father's origins intact and only added to it by making them inhumans, other than that its pretty spot on
! Well it seems like that they have kept both Skye and her father's origins intact and only added to it by making them inhumans, other than that its pretty spot on
! Well her mother's the Inhuman. And Dr. Hyde hasn't transformed yet, nor will he have the Thor background either. Also I don't think Daisy originally had a hacker background either. My main point was that giving Daisy an Inhuman background could have other origins explained in a similar fashion. Maybe even two certain individuals appearing in AoU…
! I also wonder to what extent the show is going to set up the film. I can't imagine the whole cast moving up to the big screen, but I can see the show heavily laying the groundwork to really rake in viewers.
! I think Mockingbird and Mac are working for Maria Hill. She'd want to keep tabs on SHIELD 2.0. It'll also be a way for the show to have a connection with Age of Ultron.
! Whitehall died way too easy. He's gotta come back at some point. Probably gonna put him and Hydra out the spotlight and focus on the Inhumans.
Fuck that wasn't right that was my man pots and pans.RIP
Great episode though.
Your sig man. I hope it's true. Glad to know what we're supposed to expect from the rest of the show, finally.
How long until we see the Inhumans Royal Family?
I really hope we won't get to see too many Inhumans pop up suddenly from here on out. I really like The Flash and the villain of the week works very well on that show but Agents of Shield has managed to create its own characters and its own plot without overly relying on any comic book source material (at least that's my impression, I'm not a comic book reader). So I'd like for that to keep being the center of the show.
My guess, November 2nd, 2018.
So the movie itself then guess i've have to settle for mentions then
yeah I don't imagine seeing them until we get closer to the movie which is years away.
I finally saw the Midseason Finale, and overall loved it.
Glad we FINALLY have answers to the whole Skye situation… but...
! Why Trip?! WHYYYYY?!?!?!
He was one of my favorite characters. I liked him since his intro during the whole Hydra infiltration situation. I felt he was basically what Ward should have been had he not gone bad and became interesting from that.

have faith Rin
Maybe they are going to maybe use this whole In-humans thing as a basis for meta-humans in this universe who have special powers??
Maybe they are going to maybe use this whole In-humans thing as a basis for meta-humans in this universe who have special powers??
Since they can't use mutants, yes that seems logical.
So I finally started to watch shield this week and have caught up, I didnt want to watch since I saw a lot of people bashing it.
Anyway even though I dont know much about DC I find the DC series to be a lot better than this.
I also find it weird how everyone seems to be surprised by aliens, magic, mutates, special abilities basicly when atleast Coulson should know all of that happens, " oh magic that can't be real!" when the marvel universe has a shitload of sorcerors and everyone know magic exists, they are aware of hulk, thor, etc but are like "oh that can't be real how can someone do that!".
Its like I'm watching Flash and the "meta humans" started appearing and people didnt know about them, they are surprised but being suprised/incredulous at something you know exists is kinda stupid, it annoys me everytime they have that dumb reaction.
Also from what I've watched Skye is supposed to be Zalbo daughter isn't she just supposed to be a mutate not an inhuman? I guess they are using the inhumans here because they are promoting them a lot recently.
I wish more marvel characters appeared but since the copywrights are split around that may be harder than in the DC series.
It seems that Skye is supposed to be Quake who is indeed part Inhuman, the daughter of Mr. Hyde, as far as I know (only read the Marvel Wiki entry).
I know what you mean about them being so surprised all the time, although as you've said Coulson is the only one of them who's actually had experience face-to-face, and never magic (no precedent in the movieverse as of yet!) You said that Marvel has lots of sorcerers etc. and that's true, but not in the movieverse yet, so keep that in mind), and he's also always the guy who keeps some things hidden from the rest of the team for their own safety (his words not mine.)
I agree though that as a show, I prefer Arrow and Flash myself. However I still love AoS, and am usually much more excited about reveals there than the other two because it links to a grander scope.
So I just marathoned the entire series. God, was season 1's first half such a CHORE, but season 2 has been a complete joy. Definitely went from a show I cared nothing at all about to "WHY ISNT MARCH HERE YET"
So is this the combined SHIELD / Agent Carter thread or should there be a seperate one?
But how did everyone like Agent Carter? I must admit it was a good representation of that era without coming off preachy and alienating people.
Jarvis was a brilliant standout and Stark a great cameo.
I guess it could be a combined thread for now because AoS isn't on anyway?
I expected to like it and I did. The core team (in the making) consisting of Carter and Jarvis is definitely highly likeable. And I'm always excited to see Enver Gjokaj again.
Both episodes ended with an explosion which was almost repetitive and I didn't like the fight choreography accompanied by the radio show as much as most people seem to. But that's about it. Definitely a good show to have.

The reason a lot of people (including me) loved that fight scene/radio show combo is because the radio show makes Carter out to be a helpless woman while we all know that isn't the case, especially with the background of post WWII America that clearly told women that they were valuable while the men were fighting but the second they came back it was get back into the kitchen.

Mods should just simply rename this thread the Marvel TV Thread

I liked it way more than Shield, everyone was interesting and likable off the bat instead of mmh this can still get better.
The tie ins were also more tasteful and felt relevant to what was going on.
Only thing was those grenades I feel like they were a bit too over the top. Like they're as impressive as anything we've seen in the present which feels a bit weird but no biggie.
I feel like this thread can eventually be renamed to the Marvel TV series thread. That's probably something that could be talked about once the Netflix series come out.
I like the cast for Agent Carter, though guest stars Ray Wise and Andre Royo feel underused. Only one I don't like is the dumb Agent guy, and we'll see how Carter's new apartment shenanigans go, but I'm already weary. The feminist touch here is does pretty well though, and in the second episode it felt like the other agents acknowledge Carter is an Agent, it's just she's a woman first and treat her as such.
I really enjoyed the premiere of Agent Carter. Peggy and Jarvis work better together then I would have originally thought. In the preview for what's coming up in future episodes, it looks we'll be seeing more of the Howling Commandos which will be exciting too.

"What's your name, darling?"
"Agent."

Oh hello Silver, Pouvez-vous parler français?
Yes I know its not spelled that way.

The bombs are more likely lost tech - happens more often than you think - Steel has been discovered several times took a few thousand years before someone thought to write it down.

I don't get it… :/
So just in case:
Je sais parler français. :P

Sorry bad joke I probably shouldn't have written at 3am or whenever I did it - Argent in french is the word for silver.
Oh. Well. Explaining the joke definitely made it…understandable. ;)
so hawkeye might be appearing on the show i guess
Agent Carter was mostly good fun and I hope we get a second season but right now I am really looking forward to more Leo Fitz on my screen. Soon.
SHIELD is back.
! Yup, Tripp's death is going to be traumatic for the team, but I wonder how long the story can hold on to that as the excuse for characters (or Simmons specifically) acting the way they are. The people at large might view all abilities like that, but given the show has been dealing with abilities and powers for awhile, it's gonna be silly for "inhumans" to be feeling the brunt of the effects of prejudice (though I'm guessing that's the same silly logic mutants have vs other superheroes too, right).
! Still weighing the pros/cons of Simmons acting the way she is given she's a woman of science and dealt with abilities while also being the sweetest/least battle hardened of the group that's dealing with a close death.
! Nitpicky side is bothered that Skye and her mom had no outward change in their appearance. I get luck of the draw and all that, but c'mon. It would have been nice to separate Inhumans early on from other powered abilities by forcing some sort of permanent physical change.
! Also, the show is clearly doing well making Fitz's character the sympathetic one this season, but I dunno. Starting to wonder if the stances Fitz/Simmons took should have been switched so Fitz starts looking less sympathetic and making his character more nuanced while letting Simmons get a more sympathetic focus in the second half of the season given she was barely in the first half. It would have made more sense too. Fitz has been getting more buddy-buddy with Mac who seems to be very anti-alien/abilities and Simmons is a scientist whose focus is on genetics. An understanding of the abilities seems more likely than fear, even if a close death clouds judgment.
! Yeah, I hope Simmons will change her stance sooner rather than later. Maybe it was just to give Fitz a reason for keeping Skye's condition under wraps for now. Until we get a more dramatic reveal!
! Ward wasn't in the episode at all but he wasn't needed. I thought he was the one who shot May and Coulson at first. Which I almost bought into. I was wondering if they could really go there. And then the guy turned out to be Hunter. And my brain got scrambled. There was too much to deal with and nothing made any sense. So I was glad they cleared that up immedately after. It also redeemed Coulson's "Noooo!" a little bit. He scripted it.
! Quite the strike on Hydra they pulled off there. And more violent than stuff we've seen before. Does this mean they're out of the picture for a while? Teleporter guy is taking Raina under his wings and Skye's dad mentioned contacting more Inhumans if I heard correctly.
! Mack and Bobby are still doing their thing. It's like this is a spy show or something. Not sure what "Fury's box" is supposed to be. I feel like they might have mentioned it before.
! I enjoyed the ending where they shared stories about Trip (in contrast, the scene where they carted out his remains was horrifying).
! This episode had lots of damaged people. Mack and Fitz connect because of their experiences of not being in control. Raina contemplates suicide by traffic. Bobbi claims to be in a support group. And of course Skye has to deal with her guilt now. I am very glad that she has Fitz to strengthen her in that regard. She needed a hug after all.
About Agent Carter: Overall good but didn't blow me away. Still hoping for a season 2 with more Angie and Jarvis.
Agents of SHIELD: Very good episode.
! Agreed Simmons going turning superpower hater was off but maybe she'll calm down later. Love everything Mr. Hyde does. Thought Reina was gonna put the smack down on him, nope nope nope. Good to see Skye's mom again.
! Surprised so many top Hydra members got taken out but I don't think any of them were characters from the comics. This opens up room for established comic characters taking their place.
! Still think Mack and Bobbi are working for Maria Hill or Tony.

Don't think they mentioned what it can do yet. I assume it holds all of SHIELD's top-secret info.
Its been a few days.
I think Simmons is their lead in for testing the fan base reactions for Civil War, so I actually don't see it going away - it's likely she will keep looking for a cure for Skye and use her as the exception. So even when Skye starts to become accepting of her powers Simmons becomes more desperate to "save" her.
Curious about Fury's Toolbox now - it feels like SHIELD is starting to put a bunch of spinning plates up in the air so we're all not sure what to focus on - they got rid of the Hydra threat way too quickly IMO. So they must have something big lined up.
I figured Simmons' reaction is symbolizing the eventual world-wide mutant…er I mean Inhuman persecution.
Considering that they're likely focusing on Inhumans as replacement to mutants.
A good decision considering how similar the origins of the two were in the comics anyways.

The Mutant Persecution thing was always dumb. So Spider-Man is okay but a mutant is scum? I was hoping the MCU would leave that shit out not carry it over with Inhumans.
I think it may work out a bit better with the MCU, as clearly the fear is coming from it being "eew Aliens".
In the comics both mutants and inhuman genes are product of aliens messing with homosapien genetics, but what happened millions of years ago wasn't really relevant in the modern day.
With the way it's being set up in MCU, the fact it's "alien crap" is apparent and relevant from the get-go.
In fact, in this very episode Simmons showed us the typical "but it's alien! it's bad! burn it with firrreeee!!" hysteria.
And the creepy Kree fits that target of alien xenophobia pretty well.

Yeah. With the attack on NYC, it can also help prevail that too. I also remember it being a plot point in YJ as well where it was 'Sure. Superman's good, but what about the rest of these aliens?'
Also, isn't Spiderman often considered a menace due to all the bad press he gets from his arch-enemy.
Meh was it that hard to get some portugese actors? or people that actually speak portuguese? they speak English better than portugese…they seem to be Spanish talking people trying to talk portugese, MB "bad portuguese" was as good as everyone else.
Its still cool that they actually used Portugal in this episode.
Also why the fuck would Odin care about Earth or Inhumans or Kree.
Isn't Odin really Loki? Didn't see Thor 2.
Was expecting Skye to get busted but not the Kree/Inhuman info dump. They're not wasting time bringing Inhumans into the MCU. I'm guessing the public will know about them before the Inhuman movie starts.
Good on the show for showing us a good Kree. Thought they would make every Kree in MCU a jerk.
Glad to see the Mockingbird/Mack subplot is moving forward. After Mack's talk with Bobbi about betrayal by HYDRA agents in disguise I'm putting all my internet money on them working for Maria Hill. The Avengers are breaking up and so will SHIELD, Civil War: SHIELD Version is coming.
About next week:
! Mr. Hyde!!! Those facial expressions in the preview! No Hyde this week made me realize how much I like him. He's my favorite character on the show.
