Tito. . .Tito, first of all, and regretably, is sick. Just look at his face. Who knows the state he'll be next season. One thing is clear: having a coach for half a season, while the other half he's in New York recovering, is not a good deal. Not at all. And of course it's far from his fault, but there should be some other option avaliable.
Also, reviewing Tito's season is. . .impossible. Cause he's been absent for half of it. Barça's been in a complete lack of leadership situation for far too long (nothing against Roura, but it's clear as day he is not a leader).
I think Tito has some cool things about him; he wants Barça to have a much more vertical style, less "boring". That's why Barça, this season, scored lots of goals BUT also received lots of em, too. Sacrifice defense for a more aggressive offense.
Many problems, though; overdependance on Messi. That's a problem that started back in 2010, and it has only worsened. Thing is, Messi is the best player in the world, and he, alone, solved matches, even when playing half assedly. But when, like today, he's simply not there, at all, then the team. . .doesn't even know what to do. No clue. Nothing.
That's something nor Tito nor Roura have been able to solve.
Also, their use of the entire squad has been terrible; Tello and Thiago only play unimportant matches, and guys like Alexis and Pedro seem to play by default, even if their season have been much, much less than stellar. Not even decent. Song is a terrible addition to the team, and he hasn't played a single relevant match. Barta? Poor guy. Got to play today cause there was NO other option avaliable. Same goes to Montoya. Deulofeu hasn't even been tested yet.
And, finally, yeah, I agree with you; Guardiola was a natural born motivator and leader. Also, he was, supposedly, completely obsessed with his job, and his perfectionism and obession with detail was borderline insane (the guy aged incredibly fast in a matter of a year, due to stress). His "video vault" at the Camp Nou is so infamous that it received many parodies here in the catalan television. Guy watched tons and tons and tons of videos of each and every rival. Also, the physical work was exhausting, in order to keep the infamous Barça pressure on all lines (offense, midfield, defense), to keep the lines as close as possible, etc. . . That, of course, is super exhausting for the players, who want some more leeway to play their own way and with more freedom, and that's, again, supposedly, what sparkled his desire to leave Barcelona last year.
Also, can't say I'm looking forward to next year. I hope I'm wrong, but Neymar looks like the next Robinho. All style, 0 substance.
