Wasn't the book to identify devil fruits confirmation enough? The book couldn't be made if past users didn't document the appearance of the fruit and ability that goes with it. And if the fruit couldn't be found again, there would be no point to the book.

I believe Oda even said it literally in an SBS. Somebody asked like "how come Shanks' crew knew what the gomu gomu was when a devil fruit can not exist twice?" and Oda replied with "ah no, i meant that two devil fruits of the same kind can never exist at the same time" and i'm not sure if he then said that a fruit is reborn when the user dies though.

Yea, this.
Oda didn't explain it back then indeed, but as we can see with Smiley, a nearby fruit (maybe it has to be a certain type of fruit, we don't know that yet) absorbs the power and turns into the devil fruit. That much we know now. They don't grow on a tree or anything.

Also, if we didn't know it before this chapter, nothing was confirmed now.
Just as we've known because of Oda, the guy only said they are reborn, not how.

For me, the nosebleeds are a medical condition from being away from women for so long. It is progressively getting better though. Besides the bleeding nose(which is no longer detrimental to his health), he is acting the exact same way he always does around women. So the nosebleed doesn't make him any less cool. Nor does him fawning over Violet. If he is actually willing to kill a dude for Violet, then he will be less cool, but I seriously doubt he will go that far.

People tend to forget that scene. He was already a bit like that before the time skip.

Oda just evolved his "love" face as the story progressed.

Sanjis nosebleeds started after thriller bark and he first bleed when cammy saved him , i dont know the reason why Oda started to do that but that duval arc also made fun of Sanjis look . Then Oda send Sanji to kamabakka and humiliated him more by making him wear a dress etc… and after time skip he become weak because of the time he spent in Kamabakka so he nearly died from after effects which was a plot to show how big Sanjis sacrifice was in a funny way and blood issue of fishmen .

I think Oda has a reason for making Sanji more pervented after his decleration of being the worst enemy of marines , i also think that turning stone thing can also become a power up in the future like burning up from passion . I actually like Sanji being a little pervented but Oda turned him a teenager from a casanova , i want Sanji to be like Jack sparrow or Don juan de marco so maybe he will grow up in this arc to that direction . Sanji being a casanova or womanizer is good but i dont like this teenager thing he has , maybe the reason of Sanji becoming like that is his pirate life or his love for Nami where he isnt getting anything .

Anyway Sanji may let go of his love with Nami so that he can move on and be a casanova like he should be in the first place , i am pretty sure we will get old Sanji after this arc .

If violet ends up betraying or cheating on sanji, i could see him change his views on women and not listen to women the way he does now. I would laugh if at the end of the arc nami asks him for some special drink, and he tells her to make it herself.

Sanji's love towards Nami, or Robin for that matter, has never held him back from flirting with other women, so I'm not sure what you're trying to get at. If he had the change to get laid, he'd take it in a heartbeat. Seeing as this is One Piece and Sanji we're talking about, it'll never happen.

Sanji has been lacking after the time skip though (used to hype Vergo, acting like a pervert in Nami's body and the whole FI fiasco) and I would love to see the return of Mr. Prince or "The Hunter".
People seem to give up on him simply because he got a nosebleed after being kissed by Violet. I honestly don't understand why, since his reaction was obvious.
I, for one, am looking very much forward to the Violet subplot, and it hopefully will help Sanji redeem himself.
Then again, Oda could take it in the other direction and ruin his character beyond repair.

I think he will just eat it to be stronger since its a DF that matches him , did Zoro said " no i dont deserve legendary samurais sword i should return this to his ancestors " no so why would sanji care about DF being Aces . You eat a DF and get stronger in a heartbeat its just simple as that and Sanji was a person who was looking for a certain DF so why wouldnt he eat mera mera nomi and get sronger . Oda doesnt do complicated things so i think Sanji will just eat it to get stronger and it seems Luffy is ok with it too , as lucci said being hammer isnt a bad thing expecially for a person like sanji who can fly and has nearly no chance of falling to water .

I think Sanjis getting his leg cracked by Vergo was just him undrestimating the oponent like Luffy vs Lucci at the first time etc… Vergo is a hard hitter tank like Luffy so sanji should have avoided his atacks and atacked with combos instead going for a power match , for example Luffy dodged most of CCs atack which was clever of him since if he also took blue swords atack directly like how Sanji took Vergos kick he would loose a limb . Anyway Sanji isnt a DF user Like Luffy so we cant expect same things from him , there should be limit for normal humans in One Piece since if not DFs will loose all their importance , this may also be Odas way of showing us Sanji reached his max as a none weapon-DF user .

This is pretty much Odas fault for hyping Luffy and Zoro also making Sanji a joke character after Thriller Bark but i think this will change in this arc but i still want him to be a casanova since being like zoro who only sleeps and drink will be just booring .

If other yonko's crew are anything like WB's crew then that means Kaido or Big mam probably have 2 or 3 people who can fight an Admiral, so how can the SHs fight Kaido if their top 3 fighters can't even fight Vice-Admirals at this point?

Bout mutha fletchin time! I too was in the boat that thought Luffy wouldn't care much for the fruit but thinking about it now,the way he is acting is perfectly logical. I found it very interesting that he asked Franky about it immediately without thought to the other crew. That complete disregard for a potential sit down with the whole crew discussing who to give it to leads me to believe no one in the crew is getting it. Of course a round table discussion is still bound to happen and I think it will lead to some very nice insight especially from Nami and Usopp, but no way they are eating it. Usopp and Nami both establish that normal human balance in the crew and I just can't see Oda going back on that. I could see Luffy being happy with Coby or even Vivi eating it. As far as people that Luffy likes meeting up with him sooner rather than later they are the only 2 that come to mind. Of course there is always the new and unknown.

To clarify again, I don't believe that Nami or Usopp will eat the fruit. I just think it would be a bit out of character for them both to refuse logia intangibility if offered. As a result, I suppose I no longer expect the fruit to make it through the arc uneaten. I also don't really think anyone else on the crew will eat it either, so the process of elimination is going a long way in my head.

While I certainly expected Violet to bring in a other element to the story that will tie in to the bigger picture, I didn't see it as time for Sanji development. But yeah it's there and I hope to Oda we get something substantial. How nice would it be if he got a flash back of something Zeff taught him? I know, way too much to hope for…

Eh, development isn't always a good thing. Sanji vs Kalifa developed him, but not in a way that anyone was really happy about. And now he's being asked to choose between a woman flirting with him and his morals. This almost has to develop him… somehow... unless she changes her mind right away or something like that. I simply hope that it's overwhelmingly positive development, but I won't count on it. I'm really a lot more interested in how this will develop the plot than how it will develop Sanji's character.

The nosebleed stuff isn't my main problem… Nor the overuse of Sanji being comedy now... But Sanji character wise has to get his shit together... Of course he shouldn't change completely still flirting with beatiful women and fainting over them... But if shit goes serious he should grow up.

It started with Khalifa and the key and now Violet asks him to kill someone for her… If he seriousy agrees of some sort he is a damn idiot. He has to learn to seperate good and evil woman for the sake of his crew and mission.

Well it is maybe to early to judge him and the Violet case... But well it is hard to believe that Oda will make him grow with his woman stuff.

Seriously back than in as in EB, Skypia, Enies Lobby (yeah even Khalifa) and of course his prime bad-assery named Mr Prince was the perfect mixture of being a bad-ass in person + still comedy gold.

Now he acts more and more like a fool, while still having awesome moments as against Vergo or the Jinbe speech (RomanceDawn said it right), and this perfect mix isn't there anymore.

But this is my opinion so far post TS... even if PH had some really awesome moments for him as riskign even Nami's body for Kinemon.

Mh, when you take a look at how easy Law defeated Vergo (which i consider one of the stronger VA) the monster trio fighters should be capable of beating most of them, not just fight equally.

A non serious Vergo in his base broke a non serious Sanji's leg, his strongest body part… No matter if any of them were serious and we have no clue what would have happened if they would have been serious... It was a clear showing that Vergo has been superiour to Sanji... Oda highlited this even for us with the broken bone pic... he isn't doing often if is just a mere little injury.

Vergo vs Smoker... Vergo may have won but at least he has pulled out his stick and we know Smoker's main objective was to get the heart back + Vergo even commented on it... So we don't know how a true fight would have been decided .. But he did far better as Sanji without having a part of him broken while still getting good hits

Vergo vs Law.. Law fodderized him with one attack in his best form… Of course Vergo understimated Law... but there shouldn't be a doubt that Law would have won after all

Well monet was nearly killing all strawhats because zoro didnt finished her for good so same can be said for him also because of him chooper nearly got killed in skypia , the thing i want to say is that everyone come to sea with their own will and sanji is actually has no obligation to save anyone . Well if sanji saves someone thats good but you cant depend him everytime , Kalifa was defeated by nami and she was just a bad math up for Sanji like how Miss goldenweek was a bad match up for Luffy and if usopp wasnt there everyone would die in front of luffy because he was simple minded . Can we blame Luffy because he is a simple minded idiot or should we blame Sanji because he likes women anyway zoro and luffy done much worse then sanji vs kalifa .

I think Sanji vs Vergo shouldnt count since Nami damaged his body really bad , well ofcourse haters will ignore that but Sanji doesnt have a gomu body like Luffy which is incredibly durable .

I know but why couldn't it be his arm, shoulder, or ribs that got broken? Why must it be his most powerful weapon leg? This probably Oda telling us Vergo was above Sanji, one doesn't just get his main weapon damaged so easily.
