Erm, what´s so wrong about "Camie"? It most certainly works with the Katakana we have while Gorilla Company and Gadus don´t work with their respectives Katakana.

Furthermore, what´s not in the manga doesn´t count. If we´d go by that then you can point out lots of contradictory romanizations ins merchandise articles. I also prefer Brook. But merchandise spellings are not the best indicators for anything.

Last but not least, why is this thread still open?

Besides, what kind of contradiction are you looking for in his name? Most products have their names listed correctly on them.

I was refering to merchandise stuff about most of the minor characters where we had things like Paulie and Pauly, Lucchi and Lucci etc. To be honest I don´t even remember most of the contradicting names because I always eliminate merchandise spellings but that doesn´t mean that they weren´t there. And that´s what I´m mainly addressing to. Merchandise arcticles don´t count for nothing. It´s in the same league as considering anime only evens for manga canon.

As to here name, I think any slight variation of Camie works, like Cammie, Kamie, whatever. I mean, if we're going to argue about her name, we'll be back into the times of "Enel, Ener, Eneru"

It's Camie. Only one consonant lies between the vowels, thus the "ay" sound is possible. This isn't a Camie thread, though, as Impel's already pointed out.

I see, that´s where the problem lies. Rest assured that with only one "m" that is even followed by "ie" the "kay" sound is definitely possible as Wagomu is pointed out. Camie is pretty much exactly pronounced like kay-mee. Cammy however isn´t.

English isn´t a language where one arrangement of letters allows only one and only possible pronounciation.

Just like how Brook and Brooke sound the same. I just made this thread go back on topic. I expect to be showered with good favor.

Do Brooke's "organs" work such that he could die by drowning, even though he can't be killed by say, a stab in the "lungs"?
