I died watching these episodes, especially the first. The Game of Thrones references were utter brilliance.
But I was also buzzed, and thus my inhibition is a little outta whack.
Still loved it though.

What parks and rec never fails to do is put a smile on my face every week.
Leslie's holidays were hilarious and I thought tom confessing to being the jerry once was a great character moment, too.
Season's ending with a pregnancy storyline and Mona Lisa still isn't gone.
Yep. Shine has come off the apple a bit.
I spilled my drink when ann bribed andy with food and he accepted it so quickly. It was a pretty predictable bit but it still made me laugh…
God damn how long until season 6?
Season Six Confirmed.
Now just to hope for a full order.

Read the news a few hours ago, that sucks.
I mean although I love chris I can see the show working without him, since we've actually seen the show work without him at the start.
But we haven't seen a parks without ann yet she's been there since the start.
Man what's up with my two favorite shows losing core members all around.
First community with pierce and troy and now this :(.
The only option is to kill NBC.
I was getting tired of Chris Traeger at the beginning of last season, but we're now at the point where I'll miss him more than Ann Perkins.
They are the two characters the show can most survive leaving, I think.
Show has been back now for a while and all the episodes have been pretty great in my humble opinion.
I wondered why nobody had something to say about them but to be honest I don't have much to say about them myself.
But to maybe make this post not quite the waste I'll throw in that I'm not in love with the Ann and Chris phasing out storyline or their whole having children storyline.
I don't know maybe I just miss the fun that slut phase Ann was…
This thread has always been pretty dead for a great show. Also, it might be because S5 is where the show has settled into a pretty comfortable groove and it's not consistently reaching the heights of S2/S3 and most of S4. There's just not that much to discuss other than to say, "hey, I liked it."
That said, Chris/Ann is not a good storyline–almost sitcom cliche--and I really, really wish they'd get rid of Mona Lisa, who takes a gag that was already running thin and takes it to psychotic levels.
I am rewatching the whole series at the moment, and it's amazing how much Adam Scott brought to the table when he joined the show. I was fine with Ann and Mark as pseudo-straight men, but Adam Scott is just so damned amazing at it. I think he might consistently be my favorite part of the show, now.
Just watched all of Season 5 on Netflix and I caught the first two episodes of Season 6 on demand. So I'm finally all caught up.
Really, I think the show's as great as it's always been.
This season is a bit on the downswing, unfortunately. Chris and Ann are on their way out, Jerry seems to be down to recurring, Andy's missing for a while, and April seems to be losing her edge. It's not easy to make a judgment call on three episodes, but this week iirc is the doppelganger episode I've been looking forward to, so my judgment call on this season is pending.
Also, Veronica Mars as anti-Leslie. Yes.
I'm looking forward to my rewatch of S5. I had some nagging problems with it–the Washington storyline, the beginnings of the Ann BabyPlot, the first batch of Traeger/Psychologist eps (though it got better), and the fact that Leslie is occasionally downright petty--but I don't remember everything, and it still nailed some moments (the wedding, the bachelor parties, etc.).
I remain unimpressed by Councilman Jamm.
Man, just finished S2 and started S3, and the final two episodes of S2 (the gov't shutdown and Freddy Spaghetti) and first two S3 (beginning of the Harvest Festival and the flu ep) are about as great a short run of television perfection I've seen. Hysterical but incredibly poignant.

1. Yep, agreed.
2. Also agreed, I just wanted to add that I also enjoy the way his inner nerd/geek has been treated. It always feels very grounded which I don't feel is very often the case especially for comedic purposes. He feels like a person who happens to like those things not like a caricature that feels like he's defined by that.
You take all that stuff away he would still be a good character, something I can't say about characters in the Big Bang Theory or a certain character Felicia Day played.
April seems to be losing her edge.
Be interested to hear your take on this. As I'm rewatching, I've started to think that my problem with April is that the things that were cute and funny for a nineteen-year-old–ironic detachment, cruelty, apathy--really have become less so for someone in the show who should be around twenty-four by now. The showrunner once said that his planned long-term arc for April was for her to become Leslie Knope, but it's been pretty hit-and-miss.
Of course, your problem might be just the opposite.

Didn't see the whole thing, but Sam Elliott as Hippy-Ron was great.
Not that anyone cares, but a few recent thoughts on the run-through:
Man, S3 is fantastic. Sure, part of it is just the fact that it was a short order of episodes that allowed for a tighter arc, but the harvest festival storyline is so perfect, and that scene where they pull the camera back on Leslie welcoming people to the event is an all-time favorite television moment for me. "The Bubble" is the only episode I wouldn't consider great, and it's still fine.
That said, think it's also the high-water mark of the series. S4 makes some really stupid moves, and there are some running motifs that just don't work. Probably my biggest problem is that Ben is completely emasculated by the end of the season. There's a series of three episodes where he's broken up with Leslie, she treats him like garbage, and then at the end he kind of has to just deal with it. Then, when he's made campaign manager, he gives the wrong advice in every single episode. It's REALLY weird, but when you go back and watch it, every episode has Ben telling Leslie to do one thing, her going against it, and everything working out for her. It feels a lot like the latter seasons of Scrubs, where I'd finish an episode thinking they wanted me to learn the wrong lesson from it.
Add in some storylines really straining at the edges–Ann and Tom as a couple is just nonsensical, April and Andy push the limits--and it just starts to feel a bit more like an extraordinarily good sitcom rather than something unique and special. But even then, it's still probably my favorite series currently airing. And I have a feeling I'll be watching S2 and S3 every year for at least a decade.

Parks and Rec is only so many steps of plain goofy away from 30 Rock.
I don't think you're watching it right if arcs and plot lines are the main point.
I hereby stake claim to this page in the name of the Red Star Clan.
I'm watching Doppelgangers now. This is probably the best episode of the season so far.
Aaaaand the Scandal scene made it. Donna is seriously the best.
@Monkey:

I think I'm watching it just fine if I'm enjoying it.
But yeah, sure, I agree it's a very goofy show. Ron Swanson is a great character, but he's one of the goofiest characters ever on television, and pretty much every sequence involving town meetings or Eagleton or Andy or whatever is in the realm of farce. So we actually agree.
It's just that in S2 and S3 I got the wonderful combination of having a downright hysterical while goofy show and a whole bunch of heart and development. It hasn't really lost that entirely, it's just that the goofiness is coming to the fore and the rest is diminishing. But I can handle that, and as I said, I rather enjoy it.
30 Rock wouldn't be my pick for the most direct comparison, since 30 Rock hides everything behind a pretty thick veil of irony. If anything, I think it's strongest inspiration is in Cheers and others in that vein.

I knew there was a reason they made DarthAsthma a Senior.

…it was the fourth episode, Kitsune.

Think this still qualifies as enjoying.

Hence the "so far". You would think by the third episode you could start making these claims without people looking at you funny. :\

I thought we were brown stars… cause I read a lot of poop jokes about it (don't ask me where though, it's lost in the annals of lurking)

Oh, poor, sweet, naive Kitsune…I never stop looking at you funny.
What an awesome two episode comeback!
The Fillibuster: A classic case of Knope being Knope.
The Recall: A classic case of Knope being Knope.
When is Knope not Knope?
I love this show.
Filibuster was pretty much solid gold.

My god, this is how devoted they are to the Larry bit.

I miss Jerry. :( But this is comedy gold.

That is so fantastic.
Also, I just bought this.
Loving the show ever since I got into it last summer. I also laughed a lot when they explained Andy's sudden weight loss&muscle gain (buffing up for Marvel's GotG!!!!) with "oh I just stopped drinking beer). Great show.
I need to play the cones of dunshire…!
I call Ledgerman!
Catching up on Parks, gotta say I really don't like the Ann and Chris storyline. There are moments but man it's mostly a bummer.
Hope that changes would be sad to see them go like that especially after the last two community episodes that had such strong farewells for Troy and Pierce.
"This is a fantastic rectangle".
I think next week is the final ChrAnn episode.
I dunno, I've always liked both Chris and especially Ann. Not as a single unit, but both of them were great characters. Ann's one of those super-underrated characters because she's "sane" and that makes her awkward in the sea of insanity that the Parks and Rec crew bring with them, and it sorta strikes a chord with me, I guess. Will definitely be sad to see her go no matter how well the sendoff.
Oh don't misunderstand I like their individual characters just not their current becoming parents storyline.
I personally do hope for a sendoff which lets them both shine individually instead of as a pair.
This episode had me laugh out loud several times. Ben and Leslie running around town was hilarious. So was Ron's magic rectangle.
Does April want kids now or what was that comment about Andy singing to kids being sexy about? Maybe just in general?
And I'm fine with Chris and Ann as a couple. At least I liked their storyline this week and last episode too.
I forgot to mention Billy Eichner reappearing. I've recently discovered his Billy on the street stuff. :)
Chris Pratt will be in Jurassic World:
CARLSBAD, CALIF. - Watch your tail, Tyrannosaurus rex. Chris Pratt is coming for you.
Parks and Recreation star Pratt, who heads the cast of next month’s The Lego Movie and this summer’s sci-fi superhero saga Guardians of the Galaxy, is looking forward to tangling with prehistoric predators in Jurassic World, stomping its way into cinemas next summer.
“For me, Jurassic Park was really kind of my Star Wars,” Pratt told QMI Agency Sunday at Legoland California, where he and fellow Lego Movie castmembers were promoting the animated comedy.
“I lined up at the theatre to see it, I saw it opening night, I saw every sequel, I’ve seen it a whole bunch of times… for me that was my big movie, I think I was 13 or 14 when it came out,” Pratt said.
“And so it’s a big deal for me to be any part of that, let alone this part I’m going to be playing. I’m thrilled about it.”
The fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World will be directed and co-written by Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed). Details about the movie are still largely under wraps, but Pratt is said to be playing Owen, a rugged ex-military dude who clashes with a corporate scientist played by Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help). Trevorrow has dropped hints via Twitter that the plot will involve a return to Isla Nublar, the location of 1993’s original Jurassic Park.
While Pratt had been rumoured for months to be eyeing a role in Jurassic World – a rumour that was somewhat cemented earlier this month, when director Ron Howard tweeted that his daughter would be co-starring with Pratt in the next Jurassic Park movie – Pratt himself is finally letting the cat out of the bag.
Or the dinosaur out of the egg.
“Everybody around the world knows that franchise,” said Pratt. “When you say Jurassic Park, no one is like, ‘What’s Jurassic Park?’ More people know Jurassic Park than just about anything. I’m thrilled.”
With Jurassic World opening on June 12, 2015, it’s going to be a busy couple of years for the affable Pratt, whose Hollywood stock has continued to rise after small but noteworthy roles in Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty. From The Lego Movie to Guardians of the Galaxy to Jurassic World to the recently confirmed seventh season of Parks and Recreation, the guy is going to be everywhere for the next while.
“Dude, you gotta take it while it’s here,” Pratt said. “I’ll take it.”
He's been getting a lot of film roles lately, which makes me wonder just how much longer he'll be sticking around P&R. If that happens, I say end the series sooner rather than later.
So I just saw the season finale, that felt like a good ending. I would be perfectly fine with the show ending right there. But we're getting more, the one thing making me a bit sceptical about that is that we're probably going to have the Leslie is pregnant storyline. Something I'm not really excited about.
It feels a bit like there's very little stuff with those kind of storylines that hasn't been done before. But maybe they'll find a fresh angle we'll see.
Anyways see you in the fall Parks!

! Are we though? They did jump three years into the future. Do you think they'll just rewind for the next season? I myself have no idea but I'm pretty excited.
! Mike Schur has already gone on record saying Season 7 will pick up right where the finale left off–in 2017.
Leslie meeting Michelle was PRICELESSSSSSSS
I just started watching the series, and I'm really enjoying it. Lesile, April, and Ron are my favorite characters so far.

Ron will become your hero very soon.
I just started Season 2. The show is keeping getting more great. I really like Louis C.K. guest appereances on the show. Tammy is evil, I mean evil.

This is a definitely a show that gets better each season. Though I enjoyed the first season, it definitely improved in season 2 and will continue to do so. In my own opinion, the season that just ended was near perfection. I don't think there was anything I disliked about it.
I just finished up Season 2 and started Season 3.
I really enjoying the April and Andy getting together storyline. Chris during the flu episode was just keep getting more funny.
Just learned that S7 is the final season. A bit sad but I can live with that, it feels the show is coming to an organic end instead of dragging it outcough himym cough.
I like all of the seasons, however, S3 ending was the climax for me. Just like The Office.
Now, for the office, I didn't like a majority of the episodes after S5.
The final season starts on January 13th.
