Who honestly has there username as One Piece fan and doesn't even comprehend what beating a Shichibukai means, Va's < Shichibukai with few exceptions (but there are exceptions)

We saw that Law dealt with Smoker nonchalant. And we just saw that this same Law hardly injured Vergo with his hard Counter Shock. Vergo must be in a similar league with Law. (I can't tell if Law with his own heart or Vergo is stronger.) So the math is simple. Smoker is not as strong as Vergo.

It makes sense that Law would be stronger Smoker, even if your rank in the Marines is not a true indicator of strength its only logical that the shichibukai are individually stronger than at least any one vice-admiral otherwise there would be no need for them.

First of all, Garp could have been Admiral if he had wanted to, and Sengoku was Fleet Admiral, so I'm not sure what you mean. Second of all, just consider that there are WAY more VAs than there are Shichi, and the WG is apparently reliant on the Shichi (along with the Admirals) to balance themselves out with the Yonkō. If the WG could take out the Shichi with their own VAs, of which there are greater numbers… Do you see the problem here?

he didn't hurt him one bit until his ultimate final finishing move, which would probably go completely different now that he's looking out for that, his ultimate move took him down, nothing else fazed him

this is DBZ logic, if you can understand how a story is going you should understand that smoker lost two times this arc (once in tashigis body) and how he was untouchable before and is one of Luffy's ultimate rivals, you should easily grasp the flow of the story and understand the reason Vergo is being Built up so much is for Smokers redemption

This isn't DBZ kid, it's not as simple as guy A can beat guy B and guy C lost to Guy B So A is stronger then C or A>B B>C A>C

it doesn't always work like that (except for CP9 which people hated) and like I said he didn't wipe the floor with him, smoker put up a good match and got beat by his ultimate hax move that he probably wouldn't fall for again if they had a rematch

not knowing chopper's actual maximum size in guard point allows us to believe that he could wedge himself in the doorway, sealing it shut. perhaps using guard point while in the doorway would be like using a marshmallow to plug that rectangular hole - it will expand to the dimensions of the doorway, so he could too

It's a simple fact that there were (are?!) Vice Admirals stronger than Shichibukais.
And don't forget that the Marines have an hierarchical order. There is simply no possibility that every strong marine can be an Admiral.

Sengoku had the highest rank but wasn't the strongest of all marines.

So again a rank doesn't say anything.

It might as well be nothing but after giving it some thought, this is what I came up with.

First I thought it could be a ramp. Now, I`m not saying it is one with a 100% accuracy but the format and small detail to the development of it gives me the feeling of movement, as in something is being build out of nothing and placed there. But who would do that and with what purpose?

On one hand, as strange as it may sound it could be monet feeling merciful and leaving a escape route for Luffy ( I know its pretty out of character considering what weve seen of her so far but no one else was there at the moment). Then again it might be the doing of another fast builder in the isle like Franky.We know next to nil about his whereabouts. However the way its being portrayed doesn`t feel like a several pieces artwork (which are the mechanical artifacts that Franky usually builds- you know how it goes with screws, joints and what not) but a sole huge lead way.

A simpler option is that those panels luffys "tracks" as he falls, but why on earth would a trace be of that colour and with that form. Im not saying it cant be, but if you go vertically down and youre not moving around in circles or spirals then what`s left behind should show your trayectory, especially in a room with no currents or drafts.

The last option is that I`m putting too much thought into 3 relatively small panels that are not supposed to give any info whatsoever, but being OP as detailed as it is I thought it would be at least interesting to bring it up for debate. What do you guys think?

I thought it was supposed to be the chute he fell in, like the cartoon laundry chutes that twist unecessarily. I think they're the reason Monet thinks that Luffy can't just stretch out.

That's just the duct Luffy fell in. Heck, Monet herself says so. You can also "read" the echo of Luffy's scream as he falls down.

Yeah, Sengoku was known not to be the strongest but smartest. And yeah, Garp is still Vice Admiral. I took good choices.

Lol, what?! Haki was known - but not to us. Smoker was only Captain as I remember it correctly because he fell in disgrace at the World Government. He could have been higher ranked.

I don't see that coming. A Smoker losing against Vergo and a Luffy beating Vergo instead would be more oda-ish. The guy once was beaten by Smoker now overpowering him by defeating Vergo.@choperman:

A Case I remember is Mr3 wax being able to endure Magellans poison and Croc commenting on how no one would know how devil fruits will fare against each other.

Another case I remember is the Kalifas fight where Sanji due to his circumstances couldnt touch kalifa and Nami stepped in. As Sanji said in the CP9 arc, You do what I cant and Ill do what you can`t.

Everything depends on circumstances in OP. Take whitebeard and throw him in a pond and oops he sinks, bye bye. So the environment and how you take advantage of it in the fights plays a big role in this manga . In other words, power levels are blurry.

it's a simple duct…so the people who say luffy can climb back again easy is now invalid and monet wouldnt know luffy would react that way so monet helping luffy is invalid as well...franky is likely outside preparing sunny for strawhats' escape.

Im thinking the VA are for the most part lower in strength than the Shichibukai. I mean Dofla is obviously over vergo, and he seems to be of a high level for a VA. The power balance I thought went admirals-yonkai-shichiboukai if one was stronger then the other as a whole the balance would be lost. so while there are "7" shichiboukai those 7 are equal in power to the 4 yonkai and 4 admirals counting the fleet admiral. to me this means individually the admirals and yonkai are stronger but the number of members in the shichiboukai balances it out since there are 7 as opposed to four.

I think some more examples of this would be luffy without haki defeating enel who had a top tier logia power. akainu killing ace based on magma> fire ,and akainu himself fearing the power of bonney's fruit based on what he says when capturing her.

7 Shichibukai = 4 Yonkou, i highly doubt that. WB alone would have been enough to take out most of the Shichis, the only exceptions are DD and Mihawk.

Well, the Shichi are on the side of the WG, which also has the Admirals, so the important thing is that the Yonkō = the WG.

And additionally I have to say that the World Government is a poor devil if the Marines only have four men - three Admirals and a Fleet Admiral - fighting on pair with the Shichibukais. That's unbelievable. So unbelievable that I don't believe in that. I think the reason for only having three Admirals is the fact that the Marines have an hierarchical order. However I don't see some kind of end fight coming for Smoker and Vergo. The current arc is just speeding up and a final fight seem to far from happening. I smell a different coming.:ermm:

That's a really interesting idea. It's totally possible, Franky wasn't able to deal with Caeser's ability the first time around, and I doubt he came up with a plan to if they happen to meet again. Plus, this would bring back the whole idea of Caeser wanting his lazer(or canon? i dont remember), and would also give Luffy a reason to go to Dressrosa. Love the idea.

If Vergo isn't stronger than Smoker I'd be disappointed. It will be an interesting fight and we'll finally learn about Vergo's abilities. I'd say Vergo slightly > Smoker who is slightly > Law (minus his lack of knowledge of Law's heart removal abilities). I do wish Oda would make a stand about fighting strength apart from knowing Admirals are the strongest of the marines and the Yonkou are stronger than rookies we don't know anything definitively about strength. Then again like Monet said strength doesn't = winning, which is why I think Oda doesn't say anything definitively. I think Crocodile and Lucci were 'stronger' than Luffy but Luffy had more willpower and gained the upper hand through their under estimating of his power. I think Smoker did the same underestimating Law's abilities or not knowing about them despite being 'stronger'.

If Roger had a DF, it's possible that one of the people present at his execution has it now, since we've just had revealed that the DF power goes into the nearest fruit upon the user's death, unless it's intercepted, like in Whitebeard's case. Which also brings up the question of what happened to Ace's fruit? We need to know more, unfortunately. Perhaps the nearest fruit has to be within a certain proximity of the deceased DF user's body for the transfer to work, otherwise it either goes to a random place in the world or just vanishes from history completely. How ironic would it be if Doflamingo was the one who obtained Roger's fruit? It could potentially be Doflamingo, Mihawk, Crocodile… only Buggy (that we know of) already had his DF at that point.

Or if it was related to the "Will of the D" that keeps popping up now and then. Like the D's are descendants from that kingdom that was destroyed (?) during the void era. Some of those people had the ability to do some shit and that's why they were destroyed but some ancestor survived and transmitted their genes and ability to a few descendants. And Roger was one of them.
Heck if they had more than one type of abilities it would explain Blackbeard's unique body that would make having two DF in one body possible if it were him. Though if it were the case I need to specify that Roger's and Teach's ability would be completely different.
