Jojolion ch.12 raw. Enjoy!
Kewl has released Jojolion 10: http://hiwamatanoboru.com/
Looks like there's about to be some connections to
! Steel Ball Run!
When I saw dat SBR book, I jumped the fuck out of my seat. I don't know why, I mean, we knew that this Higashitake was related to the guy in the race, but… if there's some lingering conspiracy still afoot? I'm excited.
! I did a double take on the fridge light thingy and it seems that Araki drew a panel with Josuke closing the fridge door. We don't see the fridge door actually closing and there's even the sound effect, but I don't understand:
! 1. How the fridge door would be wide open after that. It should have been almost closed or closed, since Josuke does not remember his plan and there is no reason for him to not follow the girl's orders down to the last letter.
! 2. How the bubble with the fridge door closing sound effect is rigged in such a way as to pop exactly when Josuke is expected to close the fridge door.
! Although it's probably because Araki. Right, guys?
Jousuke's ability seems to allow him to set the conditions for when the bubble pops in advance, and the "taken" thing to be put back. It was set to happen a little bit after the door was open by Jousuke BEFORE he lost his memories. This would trick Daiya into thinking the light had turned off because she can't see well.
Hey, I'm sorry but I've been looking and cant find it. Does anyone have a link to steelball run chapters 93+?

Slowly but surely I'm catching up to this series. Read up through part 6 so far. Good shit, this.
It's been a really eye opening experience for me. With a lot of series, my opinions are tainted by the fandom. Discussing manga on a forum like this, you often end up having your views adjusted by what others say. Especially with ongoing series, since there's week by week discussion going on. But with Jojo, it's just me reading on my own, forming opinions as I go along. It's fun seeing how these views match up with the fandom's common perceptions. Would you whip me if I said Jotaro was my least favorite protagonist, or that I thought both Kira and Pucci were better villains than Dio?
My reasoning, for those who care:
! Don't get me wrong, Dio is great. He's the classic villain archetype, done right. Right off the bat, he establishes himself as an asshole that will stop at nothing to one-up the protagonist. He's evil for the sake of being evil, and he plays the ultimate goal far off in the horizon perfectly; the seemingly unbeatable challenge our heroes must overcome.
! But to me, both Kira and Pucci are more complex and downright fascinating. Pucci's backstory is especially cool, and his motivations just work given his established character. Kira is nice because at several points the heroes come so close to finding out just who he is exactly, but at the last second he slips away. Really builds up the tension. Not to mention, the final fight with Killer Queen was fucking fantastic. Overall though, it's simply the fact that both these villains are around early on, and are subsequently given more personality and time to flesh out.
! As for Jotaro, I really grew to dislike him more and more as the series went on. In part 3 he was bland but boss. When he shows up in parts 4 and 6, that's when he started annoying me. For someone supposedly possessing the strongest stand, he consistently got beaten in pathetic ways. For Christ's sake, goddamn rats took him out. Obviously Araki didn't want him to steal the spotlight, but if that were the case he wouldn't try to shoehorn him in everywhere. Why didn't we get Giorno at the end of part 6 instead (though Giorno was kinda bland too), which would've actually fit?
Jojo is on the same boat as Toriko for me. Both are excellent and the creativity pumped into them is astounding, but the flat (if not, at the very least, fun and memorable) characters make it difficult to connect on a level anywhere below the surface. That said, Jojo is still a masterpiece. Interested in hearing what parts other people liked and why.
Heh, sorry for the drivel. I like to write for others, but also for myself apparently.

Completely agree with you there. It was disappointing that, in all the years of being a stand-user, an employee/representative of Speedwagon Corporations and even after a daughter, he did not find the time to expand Star Platinum's ability to stop time for more than a few seconds.
If I recall correctly, The World isn't Star Platinum's primary power, so Jotaro could only stop time for so long.
Didn't Dio only reach seven seconds anyway?

Didn't Jotaro state that Star Platinum was losing power due to him becoming older or something like that ? It was in part 6 i believe.
And it was already difficult for him to stop time, so it seems normal that he couldn't expand it.

I think he would have had it better than five seconds at the end of stone ocean, but he was weakened because he just left a coma.

See, this part is also kind of annoying. I honestly don't remember any explanation as to why Jotaro could access The World at all. For someone as creative as Araki, it's an unnecessary repeat and a lazy way to have had Jotaro beat Dio. Even then, the "strongest" stand didn't seem so strong compared to others like Gold Experience Requiem and Made in Heaven.

Can't say I recall this, and I just read part 6 recently. Of course, this could just be me forgetting. Kinda funny in retrospect, since Jotaro hadn't aged at all in terms of look.
From what I read on forums and stuff, it seems like Dio's (Jonathan J's) stand(s) awakened the same kind of stands with Jonathan's descendants; remember how Dio used Hermit purple in the beginning of part3?
And I think Jotaro just didn't use his stand that much, that's why he was getting tired using time-stop for a couple of seconds in part 4? At least that's his explanation for it, when he fought Josuke in the beginning of Part 4.
I just finished the fight with Kenzo "Dragons Dream" in Part 6. One of the most unique stand abilitys ever, Araki never cease's to amaze me.
I think Jotaro stated something about how the human body could only take a few seconds of time stop where as Dio, being an immortal vampire, could withstand longer durations.
So after years i've finally brought myself to continue reading JoJo, i've never really liked the artstyle, but the story and fights are amazing. I'm now in the middle of Part 3 and i've one question, did the stand fighting system replaced the ripple system or are there still a few ripple users in part 4-7?
Stands are the main now, but it gets better and better with more complex fights.
I heard a new form of ripple appears in part 7

Yep, and it's ten times more awesome than normal ripple.
I cannot wait to read part 7

Eh, they are both awesome but the original ripple is more practical I think.

The spin is more versatile, imo.
Original Ripple is really pointless if there's no vampires around.
But if you ever need to smash a rock without crushing the frog on top, ripple is the way to go.
SBR #93 is out!
http://shizukajoestar.tumblr.com/
2 more chapters left…
So SBR is 95 chaps long eh? Good 2 know
Monthly chapters, 3 in 1 volume.
weren't stands derived from ripples?
Also, anyone ever wonder what kind of work outs the characters in Jojo do? How is every part of your body that ripped and you've never been to the gym?
Joestar manly man genetics? Well bishie man.
Recently started this manga again and im almost finished with part 7…at first I thought this one wont be that great but I was wrong. Come to think of it I kind of did enjoy all of them, of course one more then the other
It's funny I tried it at Part 1 and gave the manga 8 out of 10, then didn't read it for a year or so until I got into a conversation about it with a friend. He told me about Part 2, I gave the series another try and was glad I continued. That same year I was caught up to the current scanlated chapters of Part 7 that were released at the time and was caught up, immensely satisfied to have a new series on my fabled 11 out of 10 "gods tier", alongside the likes of Dragonball, One Piece, Hunter X Hunter and Berserk.
Jojolion 11 is out by Kewl's group. Be warned that it spoils the winner(s) of the Steal Ball Run from part 7.
So SBR is almost completely scanlated. Since it's apparently set in a different continuity from parts 1-6, can I jump straight to it? I mean, it might be a good way to kill time until the new translation of part 4 is done. Don't worry, I'll read 4-6 in order like I did with 1-3.

I caught up to the translations of SBR before I read 4-6 and there's no problem at all with doing that. Part 7 feels very unique and stand alone quite well.
Jojo Project claims they will be done with the last chapters of SBR within the week, by the way.
It is done! The end of Part 7, Steel Ball Run, is finally here!

I'm off to read it.
Edit: Holy crap that was awesome. Part 7 is definitely one of my favorites.

That was trolling of the highest caliber.
All in all, a very good part. Definitely enjoyed it. A lot.
The ending may look a bit anticlimatic, but I liked it like that. I wasn't expecting it, at all.
And now, seeing how part 8 is referencing part 7. . .
[hide]. . .are the Higashikata's after the Corpse? Hmmmmm. . . .Nope, I don't think so, cause a family tree have nothing to do with it. But it crossed my mind, I mean, hell, it's probably the most powerful artifact in the whole world, will it be disregarded in this JoJo continuity??[/hide]
Awesome ending. @Gokuyuske: does that mean that chronologically speaking JJBA part 8 follows part 7? I know it was a resetted universe in 7 after the events of part 6 but I didn't get the impression that Part 8 was in with the chronology of part 7.
! No Dio, why did you have to die?
Great ending I like the one panel forshadowing for the relationship between Jonny and mr. Japanese Guy's daughter

Yeah, Part 8 (Jojolion) does take place more than 100 years later in the same alternate timeline as Part 7, but in the town (Morioh) from Part 4. The most recent Jojolion chapters revealed the family tree in this universe and in fact mention the Steel Ball Run, although it's not yet clear how important that will be.
