This twist is really intriguing. Hopefully I have 2 exams between this week and the next chapter so I won't think too much about who the frak this unknown is.
Chapter 671: The Gas-Gas Fruit

Let's just say Vegapunk has cloned Kuma
to make all the Pacifisas look alike. Btw am I the only one looking forward to Pacifistas v2.0 with another body as template? -

No, you are not. I've been eager to see the new Pacifistas since Sentomaru hinted at them.
-
Since we had Pacifistas with Kizaru's lazer the new Pacifistas could have Akainu's magma.
-

Or Pacifista that can PIERCE THE HEAVENS
-
Pacifista for nakama?
-
On the Vegapunk Evil front, I'm guessing he'll be more chaotic neutral. Like Luffy's attitude towards adventure but with science.
-
Vegapunk and CC hate each other you're fools to think that Vegapunk would come to the island to help cc when he is not even allowed to go back to his home island to fix the problem there even thou i bet Franky fixed it and Joker is the one with the highest chance because
1.Joker knows the straw hats are on the island so he has a reason to come to the island to stop CC getting caught by the marines and CC telling them about Joker.
2.Law knows about Joker and he knew the person when he saw him.
3.Joker most likely told Law about the island so that he could be a bodyguard to CC!Joker is the boss of this arc not CC!
-
Why are we assuming this new fella is an ally of caesar.
-
@Law:

What if Monet ignored Law's request and informed Joker?
What if Joker informed Vegapunk?
Vegapunk might have come just for Law, y'never know…
Who's to say this mysterious fella is here to help CC?
he might just be there for Law. -
each chapter in manga seems to end in seemingly a cliffhanger.
And do I want them to steamroll the enemies? no, just annoyed with the cliche start up for every arc in every manga ever written. The main cast arrives, gets curbstomped by the enemy, cliffhanger of "OMG are they dead" week after week, then finally they start to fight back.
First we have Zoro and crew supposedly dead from attack, then we have smoker seemingly die, now luffy taken down. I'm sure there were others. Heck half the crew got taken out by gas to start the arc. I'm just bored with it right now. Want to rush through this stupid "OMG he got beat" part and just get to the retaliation part. Its just too annoying and cliche. I mean how many times does the main cast have be unconscious and the enemies NOT kill them. I mean just take a freaking knife and slit their throats while they are down. BUT NO, they don't. Its an annoying as hell thing that manga can't seem to get past for beginning arcs. I hate it when they constnatly leave hte hero's in a state where they could be killed by a 2 year old yet the bad guys don't kill them. Either kill a hero or have the defeat be a situation where the heroes where not within throat slitting range. Whether its they dissapear in the depths of the ocean, covered by an avalanche, fell off a cliff, ect. But I hate how they would be say laying in the enmies footprints or laying next to the bad guy, or thrown in jail, ect. These super evil bad guys sure are nice and just let unconcious people live.
There are better ways to showcase a villians powers and strength than to have him kick the heroes ass in the beginning arc and yet let them just live while unconscious.
Its like how half the arcs in any manga are a RESCUE arc. WHY THE HELL ARE THERE RESCUE ARCS. Why are these super villaisn bent on killing everyone and ruling the world so keen on holding one person hostage.
The chapter was great until Luffy went down defeated. Just like the chapters where the other strawhats were "presumably dead" If this were fairy tail, it would be like a great chapter and Jeral showing up last page. No matter how good chapter was, he somehow ruins it all. Thats what these stupid "cliche defeats" do to chapters. We know the heroes win in the end, we know the villian will for some unknown reason NOT kill Luffy. So its just annoying. In this case there are other strawhats around that could save LUffy, so it might not be that bad, but there have been plenty of situations that there is no reason the person should still be alive.
You truly deserve to be sent to okama island for this post.

@The:
Not when cyborg basically means human/robot hybrid–both human and robotic makeup--and a Pacifista is said to be a cyborg. They bleed blood afterall when damaged, it doesn't leak oil.
I think your theory is good. But the one hang up is the use of corpses. The only person shown to re-animate corpses has been Moria. Wouldn't it make more sense that they just use real living human beings, and like with Kuma take away their personality and free will as they transform them into cyborgs/px models.
-
Since we had Pacifistas with Kizaru's lazer the new Pacifistas could have Akainu's magma.
Think about it this way: If they shot magma they would need a lot of rock to use as fuel(and they would run out), whereas with a laser there is no such problem.

Not if Vegapunk could somehow replicate Sakazuki's logia too, just as he did with Borsalino. It's a long shot, but given how we don't know the mechanics of how the optic beams actually work in Pacifistas V1, it is possible.

So, whomever invented gunpodwer replicated mr 5's powers?
This Is Idiotic, Vegapunk replicated the EFFECT of the fruit, not the fruit itself, if not he should have replicated Kuma's fruit, or something better or less confusing than the perfectly acceptable as a part of the arsenal of a futuristic genius Laser Beam.
-

Not quite, thing is that the technology is able to create lazers easily, but magma? not so much since the heat needed to melt rock can melt the technology. Maybe if there is an alloy that can withstand that extreme heat, then they could be I would think it would be far more expesnsive than the original Pacifistas, and Sentoumaru said it cost the same ammout to create them as a battleship = so not cheep at all.
Maybe the could use Wapolsteel to create one or two but I don't see alot of them IF they could -
What I cannot get over is how those shoes are the same as Aokiji's and the rest of the Silhouette is hardly unlike him as he too is tall and typically ignoring his arms and hands. Of all the suspects mentioned so far (well Bepo excluded), an unemployed Aokiji has the most time to kill and possesses the means to get to the island unaided/undetected without any real effort.
Other than that, I see no reason why Kuzan would be on this island again or how he would fit in the picture. I guess if this island is just a big setup for the Yonkou Fight Law was planning, having a former admiral helping would be interesting.
Ug 2 weeks to maybe find out. Damn you Oda =)

- Which part of the phrase 'long-shot' do you have difficulty in comprehending?
- A => B does not mean B => A. So, "If Vegapunk replicated Borsalino's ability so he might replicate Sakazuki's too" does not imply that any invention that is DF related is a replication of said DF. So, no that does not imply that the inventor of gunpowder replicated Mr. 5's powers, or for that matter, the inventor (discoverer?) of rubber replicated Gomu Gomu no Mi.

I'm hiding the non-chapter discussion, for obvious reasons.
[hide]@KageKageKing:How about "awful"?
Awful just isn't good enough, sorry.
@gotta<3OP:
How, lets have common sense. NOTHING is worse than bleach. Fairy Tail has its ups and downs, and sometimes it gets rather low, but bleach is always in the bottom.
Ahahaha good one
I don't even…Okay, I'm gonna save the arguement because this is a chapter thread, and I slept through two pages before reading this..
So, I'm just gonna settle for them both being utterly cringe worthy and a sad excuse for s series.. Just my opinion though.[/hide]
–-------------About this Joker guy..
The discussion is basically pointless, we have a week break and this place is gonna explode with these kinds of theories because of such a cliffhanger.
But...
Those shoes in no way resemble Kuzans' shoes, they're missing the third lace, and frankly the whole idea of it being him is purely based on (for lack of a better word) fangirls wanting him reintroduced.
It being Vegapunk, to me is just as unlikely as Kuzan..I just don't see how/why it would be. The person is obviously the Joker character, and I see no plausible arguement as to why Vegapunk would be disguising himself to infiltrate the G5 and bascially help CC further his research..
Unless he's keeping an eye on him because he knows about the Gaint-ification research Caesar has been working on, and he's at a stand still with the WG on his ass or something.
Monet being a double/trible agent is very likely, I can see her pretending to work for CC but really working for Joker to spy on him, but in the real scheme of things she's really just using them both for her own goal (kind of like robin if you look at it that way)..
-
If it's the Joker how did he reach PH is such short time?
-
If it's the Joker how did he reach PH is such short time?
Is that seriously the argument for why people think it's not Joker?
-
Why do you answer my question with a question?
-
Because if Rock and Scotch can use Den Den Mushi's to tell fodder characters that they've "killed" some of the SH's, then Joker could have done the same in his conversation with Ceaser.
-
Because if Rock and Scotch can use Den Den Mushi's to tell fodder characters that they've "killed" some of the SH's, then Joker could have done the same in his conversation with Ceaser.
But Rock and Scotch used a baby Den Den Mushi, which have enough signal range only for local calls. Caesar was seen using a regular Den Den Mushi, which are used for far away calls. If Joker was indeed at PH at the time of the call, then Caesar could have just used a baby Den Den Mushi. Oda tends to be careful with those sort of details.
-
Why do you answer my question with a question?
Because the whole "how could he get to Punk Hazard in such a short time" argument is stupid. We don't know who he is or where he was when Caesar contacted him.
He's had 7 chapters to get there from where ever he was, and it only took Smoker 3 from Raijin Island.
-
7 chapters doesn't mean anything in amount of time, also read the post above you.
-
7 chapters doesn't mean anything in amount of time, also read the post above you.
What does the post above me have to do with what I said? I know he didn't use a baby den den mushi, and didn't say he was on PH at the time of that call..
We still don't know where he was though… If he can influence decisions that much in G5 what's to say he can't just make a phone call to have it done as well?
7 chapters normally wouldn't mean anything to overall time on the island, but if you read the chapters in between 664-671 and notice how much happened in them, you'll see it was a lot more than those in between 655-658.
Edit: Actually, if you look at it..We don't know how long the crew left on the ship were out for, so the time between those chapters could be just as much as the past 7, or less.
Still, if you re read from 655 and try to estimate how long it's been, it makes sense. He's had more than enough time to get there.
-
How much time do you think has passed since CC called Joker? I doubt it's more than 2 hours. Stop trying to defend stupid theories.

I'm not arguing with you, it's pointless.

Law is coughing up blood as he approaches that guy on the last panel. My first thought was the guy has a monstrous haoshoku haki and that shows Law's effort to resist it. Then, it is said that he is someone in Law's past. So I thought something crazy like Law once uses his own ability on himself and that guy somehow has Law's heart, constricting it as Law goes near.
-
Saying it's anyone BUT Joker is stupid. Now considering we don't know who Joker is, it could be Vegapunk, or Aokiji but both have little reason to be there. Something tells me the whereabouts of Law's crew are going to be brought up soon. I was thinking this arc would be a jump start for a massive Yonkou arc but Joker might be the main villain of this arc after all. I'm hoping to see Law blackmailed into attacking Luffy, a Luffy/Law fight would rule.
-
If it's the Joker how did he reach PH is such short time?
1.It's one of the first island choices you can make in the new world
2.The new marine base that joker was at was also one of the first islands in the new world however its bad for pirates to go there which was seen when the pirate slaves left fishman island Smoker was there at the time however Smoker was able to get to Punk hazard around the same time as the strawhat's which shows that they're very close together and he could get to cc's lab way faster than Smoker because he knows where it's plus Smoker removed the ice that was in the way already and we don't know if Joker was on a ship already which would have made getting there even faster! -
Umm does gas tanets do anything other then explosions? Cause i get a feeling i'm missing something.

No idea as of yet.
Though.
My mind totally wants Apoo to drop in like 'Yo dawg, yer doin it wrong' then blowing CC up LIKE A BAWS.
But that's my mind.
I know that won't happen.

I think he's coughing up blood because Luffy went down. We didn't see the surgery he performed to save Luffy's life, so it's very possible he had to give Luffy his own heart using his DF power. If it was because of the dude's Aura Monet would be in pain, too.
-
What if when he went to help Luffy after the war, Luffy's heart was to destroyed so Law gave him his? Huge speculation of course.
-
Hearing all these thoughts of Law giving his heart to Luffy and I must derp - even if Law used his ability to give Luffy his heart, it would still function as LAW'S heart, thus being totally pointless.

Well, it's just a little bit of a coincidence that Luffy goes down by CC and Law immediately starts coughing up blood. They most likely at least have some connection involving Luffy's surgery 2 years ago.
-

Still don't know whether that'd work…
Though if that was the case Law would have just dropped dead. -

http://www.mangaeden.com/en-manga/one-piece/581/13/
There are hints that he swapped some organ or other with Luffy. His heart is mentioned as being frail, and we see Law's sword here next to Luffy. Again, it's too much of a coincidence that Law immediately goes down after Luffy does. They have to have some connection here.
-
Even if they switched the position of their hearts, law's heart is only pumping law's blood and luffy's heart is only pumping luffy's blood.
