The Spurs and Thunder are the two best teams in the NBA. I really like how both of them are built (though I think the Spurs should play Blair more), and how both act like teams. I've been rooting for the Thunder now for three years, but mostly I just want to watch good basketball. If the Thunder can pull out game 4, we'll be set up for an incredible end to the series no matter who wins it. I was looking forward to this series more than whatever matchup comes up in the finals. We all know how methodically difficult the Spurs are, but the Thunder showed just how much terror they can inflict last night when they really get after it, and their big 3 didn't even put up all that much offense. I don't know that they can sustain that level of defensive play, but it'll be interesting to watch, and will hopefully make for a great ending to the series.
As for Lebron, I used to really like the guy. Then he screwed over Cleveland (his hometown for the most part) and made that speech about winning 7 championships because his actions landed him with Wade and Bosh. He basically burned down the Cavs organization and pissed on their ashes for personal gain, and was arrogant as hell about it afterwards. After that, I downright loathed the Heat and began to hope that Lebron never gets a ring that way. It doesn't help that they turned into dicks and now lead the league in flopping (why the hell can't two legitimate MVP candidates play with class). After the way he played the 4th quarters last year against Dallas in the finals, if he can't get a ring with those two guys, he rightfully deserves all the criticism he gets. He teamed up with another MVP candidate and a third all star to do it. If you gamble big with the best possible odds and lose, there's a large debt to be paid.
Lebron's the best player in the league. 3 time MVP including this year. It's on him to keep playing that way in the biggest moments, and it's on him if he doesn't. Any slack he would have been given for losing was thrown away by him with "the decision".
I root for the Thunder, but more than anything else I just want to see the Heat lose.
