pheno, why don't you stop bashing the main characters of this manga. why are you trolling and saying that luffy and zoro are going to get beat?

Actually I think he's just expressing his opinion. I do think the same (probably many of you do), but I (we) think a step ahead and know Oda would probably have something in mind to make Sanji facing his weakness, woman, and grow during the fight. Main characters amazingly become stronger during the fight. Typical shonen plot +_+

I was talking with Jonas the other day, and probably somebody also mentioned that in the spoiler thread, but probably SHs are facing their weakness so they can grow one more step. I mean, if Sanji knows how to defeat woman, he's invincible o.o

It does not matter if they were not familiar or not with Roukishki, that has nothing to do with it. Lucci is simply stronger than Luffy, and Luffy is no where near Lucci in skills or power. Therefore if Luffy wins it will be because of Nonsense.

no, he was doing that but he wasn't giving any reasons. just saying that the strawhats are weak and that's why they're going to lose is a bash. if he thinks they're going to lose he needs to state why and how. he was also fishing for negative responses to his negative comment and that's trolling.

That's a really good point, changsho. I never thought of it that way. Yes, the Klabauterman would prove that Merry has some sort of spirit. I wonder if the same was true with Lassoo?

Chapter 400 was great nice twist on the match up nobody expected jyabura to fight ussop unless this is another switch up situation like with bon clay. On the subject of spandams sword he might be more comfortable useing the elephant sword then a normal sword and Im predicting that the sword does all the fighting for him in its half elephant half sword form.

Yah, but after the gates of Justice or before? I think Luffy's gonna use his "RAWR STRENGTH" to open the gate, Samson-style.

Speculation: Kalifa's DF maybe the bane of her; if when she activates her power her appearance changes, Sanji might find it easier to … incapacitate her.

Yes he was in a fight where he did use knives but he did not use it to cut or hurt his opponent. Merely to disable him by chopping up the food (you know, what kitchen knives do) Wanze used.

It was more of a "Bending of the rules" rather than all out breaking them.

Right, and the point I'm making is that like the Wanze fight, given the right set of circumstances against Calipha, Sanji could once again 'bend his rules' without breaking them. (ie: Calipha turns into a horrid beast, its gender indistinguishable from either male or female. So Sanji would have no major reservations about beating its arse or something like that) :closedeyes:

Most of the match-ups were a surprise to me, other than Lucci/Luffy and Zoro/Kaku. I totally did not even consider Sogeking fighting Jyabura. That's going to be a totally unpredictable fight.

I should have seen Sanji/Kalifa coming…this is going to be an amusing fight. ^_^

I started laughing at Franky looking for the break room to find cola. Perhaps he's going to learn to draw strength for other sources...or conserve better.

Nami/Kumadori....strange. Don't konw how that's going to go.

Now about Chopper...it almost seems like there's missing information, because Chopper is there one moment, and then he's gone, and nobody seems to notice or question that he's gone. There must be a reason for that.

Poor Lucci, he must be pissed that Spandam dragged him away from the fight. Not that he won't get his, though.

Hi, new to the board. Well, been lurking on it for ages now (since half-way through the Puffing Tom train battles), and registered a little while ago, just never had the strange motivation to post. o.o Oh well, 400th Chapter deserves something special at least, eh?

As for the battle line-ups, I was pretty surprised but pleased in all aspects. :) I expect Luffy will no doubt get lost somewhere along the way and Chopper will unexpectedly meet up with Lucci, where he needs to hold him off long enough. Obviously, Chopper will lose (and the effect this might have on his confidence?) will result in Luffy being angry as soon as he arrives, leading to an intense battle.

I wonder if we'll get a Soru based part of the battle, where the pair of them are going so fast that they are naked to the invisible eye. And I can only imagine Spandam's face if he sees this… XD

But I'm getting ahead of myself, that will no doubt not come for months. I'm looking most forward to Nami and Sogeking's battles, but that's not to say all of them aren't interesting... well, other then Franky. I don't know, I'm just not particularly exicted to see him battle. Oh well.

Actually, the question as to items becoming sentient after consuming a Devil Fruit is pretty interesting. This could be interpreted as Zoan fruits having their own personalities which influence the eater. Say, Chopper becoming a lot more intelligent after eating his Hito Hito no Mi and Lucci being blood-thirsty could be examples of the power of zoan fruits, adding another layer of risk to tasting a Devil Fruit: you risk your sanity waves hands menacingly

Yeah, Dragonball was sort of what I was thinking of back then. Gah, don't know why, just been a bit nostalgic and rewatching ol'DB. But it makes sense to me, Luffy knows Soru, and, well, Lucci obviously does as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

What I was thinking of though was having it less over the top as it did get in DB sometimes though, maybe more like when Yamcha was taking on the Saibamen.

we already had this 2fast2see, just nobody was watching. Remember when Gear 2 Luffy chased Blueno while he was using Soru. The good thing is that oda shows us the fighters point of view instead of the spectator like DragonBall.

Ah, I see. I know that both Blueno and Luffy used it upon each other, just couldn't really remember if they did it at the same time.

You would think Sanji and Franky would both be pretty tired after their ordeal on the sea train (which was technically only a few hours ago in OP time, I think).

As a result, I think Sanji might get the key from Califa without a fight. It would be absolutely hilarious to me if, after attempting to seduce women all his life, the one that buys his schtick (spelling error here?) is a hot secretary. It would be even better if she gives him the key, but won't let go of him afterward. It probably won't happen, but it would be a funny alternative in my opinion.

Nami's fight with Kumadori might very well go along the lines of a kabuki play (in my Internet search on kabuki plays, I found out there's a famous one called Gedatsu…news to me). Kabuki plots often have a "Romeo & Juliet" element to them with two star-crossed lovers committing sepaku. Kumadori may accidently "fall in love" with a pirate woman who he could never commit to as a CP9 member and fall into conflict with a rival (Chopper?).

I believe the fights will go in order for who met who first:

Franky vs. fukurou
Sogeking (Usopp) vs. Jyabura
Nami vs. Kumadori
Sanji vs. Calipha
Zoro vs. kaku
Luffy & robin vs. Luchi and spandam

Chopper is bound to join someone else's fight. I just hope we don't get chopper with Sogeking. It would be great to see how much "Sogeking" differs from "Ussop".

i want zoro to fight first this chapter was f**king awesome. Zoro's words at the end was the best. Man. I cant wait for next weeks chapter. Also am i the only one that hopes chopper will get owned by lucchi just to make it cool and see lucchi fight. It'd be a semi-long fight though like 2-3 chapters not like in skypeia where he got beaten by ohm in like 2 seconds.

I'd rather have a chapter on 2 characters, halfway through showing what another character not involved in fighting is doing. So, we start out with Zoro vs Kaku for half a chapter, then halfway through we see Luffy lost in the tower, or Spandam and Robin, or the FF. Then in the last half we see Franky vs Fukorou.
