I don't find Sony's online particulalry impressive. MS has impressive online but you need to pay for the best service and people are apparently getting their accounts hacked, so…
I have absolutely no interest whasoever in trophy/achievements.

I said better online compared to nintendo. No friend-codes, easy way to invite people into you list and play with them etc.
But i do agree Microsoft seems to be doing the best job with that.
Personally i love trophies/achievements mostly because i'm a completionist. It's like keeping some kind of gaming backlog.
Also i like playing movies on my consoles, having a internal HDD (not limited to only SD cards) and it's region free.
That's something i won't get on a Nintendo console.
So Sony should take over Nintendo :P
Not completely serious
@Mr.:
When my brother was younger and played a new game, he always asked "how do you jump?" After about 5 new games it got really annoying… Partly because I felt it was better if he found out on his own, and even that doesn't take much effort/time.
Yeesh, when I was little, the only thing I was confused about was blocking in Street Fighter. And only because I expected an immediate result.
My brother: "Press back to block attacks!"
Me: "It's not working! He just keeps walking back!"
My brother: "… You'll figure it out"
I actually didn't figure it out until I turned 6 but hey, those "miracle" times when I blocked were awesome.
Granted, we had far less buttons and sticks to work with back then.
some was a bit extreme going for the laugh, but otherwise pretty spot on.
In "The Next Game Boss" Indie Developer teams compete in creating games with predefined guidelines.
Anyone that's interested in the game industry and the making of games should find this quite entertaining.
It is also much improved upon the pilot one's that were aired a few months ago.
So far it looks pretty good and sure the judging can become somewhat subjective at some point but it's actually way better this time.
The way they judged in the pilots was just plainly wrong.
I remember the previous (I think?) Next Game Boss was full of awful misogyny and sexism
@The:

Yeah I think you're referring to one of the design pitches. The team had to design a villain in the setting "post apocalyptic world and simulation genre".
They made a kind of dominatrix villain.
I can't say I agree that they were mysogynistic with what they came up since they kind of offended both genders equally
which just turned the sexism pretty high.
That said I wasn't really offended by it, it was pretty clear that this was a rather silly display and just dumb ideas going wild.
Had a good short laugh at their pitch but yeah as an actual game it would have been pretty silly, had the duke nukem failing vibe for me.

Rockstar San Diego the developers for Midnight Club and Red Dead Redemption is hiring for next unnamed title.
Any guesses? besides the 2 above mentioned series

It's very likely a new ip (at least I beliebe so). Probably going to come out with the next console generation which is the best time to launch new properties.
That means I have to finish the original.
Between this, offering to watch MLP for charity, and offering Cliffy B parking money, Notch is the coolest sonuva bitch in the game industry.
I never got to play it, bloody thing's hard to find. I keep hoping for a PSN re-release… but that require a publisher to spend more money on a bomb.
It's ten bucks on Steam, and the price goes down to five bucks during most sales.

If your PC can play it I'd suggest get it on Steam as well. It didn't sell all that well when it came out so it might not ever be rereleased.
Sadly, it can't. My PC is from 2002 with 300mb Ram (which I upgraded from 126mb years ago), a new computer is my top priority when I get back to work.
The minimum system requirements are:
So your 300mb of RAM might work somewhat. It probably wouldn't run well though :ninja: .
So, the Guiness Book of World Records: Gaming Edition added a new category; Best Ending. 13,519 votes were cast and the winner…
...was Call of Duty: Black Ops.
WHAT THE FUCK. We need more than 13k people voting on this crap!
haaaa. that's amusing actually
Yeah. I saw that. XD I figure people just voted for their favorite games rather than not thinking as much about the ending.
Guiness should really stick to practical topics, like how many clothes pins somebody can stick on their face.

There was a crap load of this gen games and a ton of shooters which is just sad.
Oh and for the kicker super mario bros was at like 13. Ha talk about a joke. Only mario game that should ever be on there would be the rpg ones not the platformers.

It's pretty bad, to be honest. It seems like they just took popular names and put them in.
Oh yeah, HL2:Ep2 should have been the best ending. So sad :cwy: .

1/4 of those games… don't even HAVE "ENDINGS". WHAT?
What do you mean?
I don't usually care for lists, but this one… why does it even exist?
Because Guiness is trying to be "hip" and "fly" like those "computer gamers".
Super Mario Bros? Really?
And why is MGS3 so low?
MGS3 was last gen, not a classic like Mario, and not quite as popular as CoD, GoW, and other high-profile games.
Ocarina had that kickass huge party with everyone tho. So that makes sense.
If we ignore all of these Call of Duty games then the list might be more accurate…
I sure hope that Sonic one isn't the 2006 one.
What do you mean?
I meant that the plot twist ending of Super Mario Bros was heart wrenching. Let's not forget the mouth dropping ending of Sonic the Hedgehog and Portal.
Portal did have a nice ending, though it was kind of retconned for the sequel.
Portal did have a nice ending, though it was kind of retconned for the sequel.
Apparently Valve added a new ending to tie in to the sequel where Chell doesn't escape.
But still, blacking out after achieving freedom isn't the "best" ending for me.

Yeah, that's the odd thing. I'm still so confused, just more so BLOPS won.
Fuckin' idiots.
Maybe they should stick to keeping a book of facts that can be recorded.
That's the problem. This could be seen as purely subjective opinions in a book of facts, but there's also facts in the book like "Most Critically Acclaimed Super-Hero Game" which, while a fact, is gathered from reviews… which are opinions. It's a mess.
I'm playing persona and it's awesome.
Innocent Sin ended up being my favorite Persona of the whole series. Still gotta play Eternal Punishment (dunno whether to dive into the crappy old PSX localization or pray for a PSP port) but I'm already fairly sure it's not as good as IS.
For those of you who have Half Life for PC, I suggest trying this mod out.

It says it's released but there was a problem with the bandwidth limit so it'll be available later. It's amazing what they were able to do with the GoldSRC engine. If I didn't know any better I would say it was running on a more recent game engine.

Jet Grind Radio is the next Dreamcast classic to come to PSN/XBLA. Always wanted to play that.
Remember tho Dreamcast classics are in SD and don't get trophies/achievements, these aren't HD ports. They still charge 10 bucks for them, tho.

Atari promises big announcement tomorrow
Any guesses?
I would laugh if it was a new gaming console.
I would laugh if it was a new gaming console.
What would be funnier is if they announced a new console that looked better that the new gen consoles
I think it would be cool if Sega got back into the console business. Couldn't really care less about Atari though. I can't name any game off the top of my head that I've played that was developed/published by them.
hopefully it's more of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3DS. They announced that ages ago and then nothing since.
