PC version is only $40 if you own AA and it's not using GFWL for singleplayer  !
Went to the Gamestop night launch last night and won a Arkham City shirt, paid $4.99 for every batman skin and got my game which had a redeem code for Catwoman bundle! thumbs up And I am playing it right now
My GameStop told me there'd be a costume contest and prizes to win. Turns out when the midnight launch actually happened… there was nothing, just people standing around till midnight so we could leave. I came at bloody 9:30pm thinking there'd be such things, instead I paced in the store with the employees until about 11pm when everyone started to walk in.
I didn't make it to my gamestop last night, but my brother should be picking my copy up in about an hour… I get to play it in 3... excited as all hell...
But the GameStop guys told me there was the same deal at their store. There would be a Challenge map tournament, contests, Batman Trivia contest (I SO COULD HAVE WON THIS IF I'D GONE!) and the like.
No clue if all that really went down or not.
Played around some more, and I'm liking what I've played so far (was there any doubt?). Making my way around Arkham City is quite fun, and doing side quests isn't a bore. Already I've had a sort of "encounter" with certain deadly assassin.
Okay, the Mr. Freeze boss fight was legit. Easily beat out anything in Asylum, and is the best in City so far. And honestly, it's one of the best boss fights in any game that I've recently played.
! I love how it's not repetitive. And how you actually have to think all the way through.
I died twice during it because I couldn't figure out what to do next. It took me forever to figure out to shock him with the water. And honestly, I kind of did it by accident.
This game is like crack. Sweet, addictive crack. just got through Penguin. I love this game
Just stopped right before triggering the Mr. Freeze boss fight. So far my only complaint with the game is (big spoilers):
! The Ra's Al Ghul gliding trials. Those were bullshit… I of course now realize that I was using dive-bomb incorrectly, but still that was getting dangerously close to Superman 64 terrority and it was just completely out of place in the game. Also I find it quite silly despite you're "working" with the Joker he is still trying to get his goons to kill you. I know that's just the Joker's style, but really. XD
Just finished story mode.
! Holy shit. What an ending. My jaw dropped when Talia stabbed the Joker. Then it dropped again when she got shot and died. Then I squealed with excitement when I got to fight Clayface.
Then…it happened.
! I can't believe it happened. The Joker...died.
I knew it was possible, but I never really thought they do it.
! It was so sad.
Then with Batman carrying him out.
! Holy crap. It was fantastic.
! Then came the missed call in the credits. That has to be one of the most haunting things I've ever heard.
! Now I see why Mark Hamill came back to make this his finale as the Joker.
! Absolutely superb.
And, even with the story beat, and the side missions I did, I'm only at 50% complete.
Gonna start a New Game+ and get that 100% complete.
Also, is anyone else having an incredibly difficult time with the Advanced AR challenges. I gave up on the first one. I kept hitting the wall.
I tried for half an hour before I rage quit.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also, I never found that masked guy except for the first time he appeared.
And, as for Robin,
! I really don't see why they included him; he was in all of 1 minute of the campaign
They were not fucking around with this video game. Mother of God, what an ending. What a video game.
I only have 46% story completion and 23% side missions and I almost played for 12 hours!

You're….kidding right? That was probably the easiest part of the game.

I did those immediately after the first AR challenges because I thought I was going to get a new powerup….got stupid silver trophy instead.
They aren't that hard but there is a few tricks involved and the numbering is not ranking the difficulty (1 is much harder than 4).
You can do this in-store instead of online?
Probably during midnight launch only but I was able to get all Batman skins ($4.99), a nightwing bundle($6.99), and a robin bundle($6.99). Unfortunately I didn't have the money to get them all so I only got the skins. Also for the Batman skins you would have to wait till early December to get the activation code. and you would have to wait till early-mid november for the Robin bundle and Nightwing bundle activation codes.
Anybody want to play the Alfred challenge maps?

LOL.

This is the most hilariously awesome thing ever
Got mine dispatched today. Should be tomorrow or Friday. It's on signed for tho so probably nobody will be in >.<
@Nex:
Just finished story mode.
About how long is the story mode?
Bah! I hate quoting spoiler tags x_x
so what happen to two-face? after i beat the game, i went back to the courtyard and he's gone
@Mark:

! AFter the credits, you should get the last Catwoman mission where you deal with two-face.
You think that this game is like the film "Escape from New York"? It has a city thats a Jail. Also Joker is like "The Duke" in a way.
Is this "person in the shadows early on" a scripted event, or just something for you to notice? Cuz I'm looking for Freeze's lair and haven't had any such encounter yet.

You have to notice him.
Hmmmm I may possibly have an extra 70s skin spare. Shopto just emailed me saying its up on their site in my account but also when it dispatched it said it was included in the package. I'll put it up for grabs once I know for sure.
Is your code gonna be for Xbox or PS3?
PS3. Turns out they didn't put it in the game (which came today) so no spares. Unless it's reusable.
does anybody know how to find killer croc in the game? i couldnt find him in the sewer
EDIT: nvm i found him
Just got done with Mr. Freeze fight.
But whoa,
! Ra's Al Ghul was awesome. Probably my favorite fight in the game so far. Solomon Grundy was great.
Anyone else love flying around Arkham City in this game? (you had your moment of glory, Spidey, but you just aren't good enough anymore).
They aren't that hard but there is a few tricks involved and the numbering is not ranking the difficulty (1 is much harder than 4).
Quoted for the truth. Dang, 1 just about drove me nuts! The rest of them weren't nearly as hard.
Pretty far into the game now. Kinda disappointed that the amount of hours people are saying this game is once again mainly down to collecting Riddler Trophies and not the main game and the sidequests. (except the Riddler ones)
! The sidequests seem to be covering most of the villains. I was actually expecting the Mad Hatter to kidnap Vicki Vale due to him appearing (I think) when you rescue her. Was ncie to see the Scarecrow (who doesn't seem to be in the game at all yet despite the teaser from the last one) scenes from the last one being used for him too. But it was over far too quickly. Wouldn't even call that a sidequest. Just a random moment in the game like a single assault.

! Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with how they handled Mad Hatter. Because he's my favourite villain I would have liked for him to have a complete sidequest, like with Deadshot for instance.
My thoughts on the game so far. (I'm done with the main story by the way, so major spoilers)
! I'm pretty disappointed by the fact that Strange was pretty much controlled by Ra's. While I kinda saw it coming, with all of Strange's talk about powerful friends, it wasn't really what I wanted.
! I'm really surprised Rocksteady actually managed to cram this huge amount of villains in the game, and still make it a better game than AA. I thought AA had a perfect amount of villains, but Arkham City really proved me wrong.
All in all, a fantastic game, even better than AA.
And also, the AR missions suck.
And also, the AR missions suck.
They're not that bad actually a bit trying maybe but nothing that'll make you ragequit them in frustration.
Well, the advanced AR #1 had me pulling my hairs, almost.
It's that dang tunnel!
Yeah that tunnel… I've completed them all, but I think it took me around 2 hours, at least.
Beat the game. It was great. I don't agree with the whole "better than Asylum" that everyone seems to be cranking out, I say my experience was on par with Asylum, not better not worse… which is to say "great."
Also just finished with it. Didn't think it was quite as good as Asylum myself. Personally I thought the former had a lot more to do believe it or not. Was disappointed that the game locks you out of doing most side-missions around the 70% mark without any warning beforehand so I missed out on them.
! Was disappointed how the mysterious guy following you turned out to be nothing but what I took to be a hint for the next game. Although like I said before. Most of the Side-quests are either very short or random occurances. And I kinda felt 'that's it?' at the end. Considering Two Face was put on the special edition boxes I was actually hoping he would appear for a little longer than briefly at the opening and the end.
! I'm missing one side-quest. However I never once saw Black Mask (despite having his bio from the start of the game oddly.) and was still missing three other character's profiles (assuming Nightwing, Hush and another. Croc or Scarecrow?)
! The plot had me more-or-less confuesd. Especially when it came to the whole cure thing and Freeze. Freeze complains that Joker took his wife. So just decides to beat you up and then send you on a ridiculously easy quest to find her. And then two seconds after Alfred contacts you and happily informs you that they've got the cure anyways. (although I'm assuming this was meant to be a trick by Hatter?)
Overall it was a decent game. I didn't feel it was the cure to cancer that everyone is making it out to be and coming onto this from Xenoblade and Shadow of the Colossus it simply paled in comparison (not that it should be compared to those two) but it was stlll fun while it lasted. (even if it was a lot shorter than I hoped)
I feel bad… I'm of the rare cased that dislike that game... Same for AA... Dunno why, I just don't get the vibe

Here is some interesting stuff (note: SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN"T PLAYED YET)
Dont read what's in spoilers if you haven't played the game yet.
! Now we have a little Jokelet running around.
! And the prophecy is interesting too.

! lol I noticed that test. Although considering that half the time it was Clayface acting as the Joker… Who knows XD
Started the game over on Hard mode since I was bored of collecitng trophies. Noticed some things.
! Black Mask is indeed there at the start, fighting off guards. It's mentioned that he recently escaped in one of the files.
! When walking to the left as Bruce you come across an Inmate who says that Wayne is on his list and then says "Bang." Hinting to his (Deadshot's) list in the sidequest.
! An Inmate says that he's gonna wear Bruce's face when you first see Ryder and rescue him. Later one of the sidequests is someone wearing Bruce's face.
I loved the game, but it's not without it's faults most of which where stated by Cyber-Robin.
! I didn't like how most of the side missions didn't pan out, but what really bothers me is the main story. I didn't think it was bad, but i was a bit disappointed to say the least. I'm cool with the Joker stealing the show towards the end, and that's how it usually works. But, what was the point of Hugo Strange? All that build up Hugo knowing Batman's identity, "Protocol 10" and you only "face" Hugo for a short section; IMO the Joker's death should have happened/been during "Protocol 10".

! I admit it, I was also disappointed by how they handled Strange. Him being just the henchman to Ra's kinda irked me. I really liked the fact that when everything was said and done, Joker swept in to take control. That's so typical of him.
! I wasn't happy with that either. It was at that point when it felt obvious that they were just building to the third game. Especially with Ra's reveal and subsequant death within 30 seconds
! it's just extra frustrating because, it lives up to the hype in every other aspect than that. (and the side missions to some degree, like who the fuck keeps trying rob Crispin Freeman?) It just feels rushed plot-wise. I would say that it could've been from Rocksteady being under-staffed, but they weren't in control of that where they?
Edit. Oh Cyber-Robin have you found the Croc and Scarecrow trophies yet? i think you said something about that earlier
! I was let down by Hugo Strange as well. I mean Ra's Al Ghul pulling the strings was a surprise to me and I liked that, but the whole game built up to Strange and I figured I was at least going to get to fight him. I don't know anything about the character but both Asylum and City boasted that he was trained to his physical and mental prime, so all this time I was expecting to fight someone just like Batman himself… instead you break into his little fortress and throw him around like a little bitch in a cutscene.
! I was also disappointed in the final boss fight. The fight with Clayface was a good fight, don't get me wrong, but FINAL boss? After the final boss of Asylum being the bulk of peoples complaints I figured they would have put in good effort for a final boss this time around. Additionally I disliked the only time you fought the Joker you were technically fighting Clayface in disguise and he only acted like a generic inmate in the brawl.
! Additionally I disliked the only time you fought the Joker you were technically fighting Clayface in disguise and he only acted like a generic inmate in the brawl.
! To be fair, that would be pretty much the only way to fight Joker. He isn't stronger than any typical henchman, probably weaker.
(Final note about Strange)
! Up until the final minutes I absolutely loved Strange. He wasn't really a constant threat in the same way that Joker was in AA, but when he did pop up he felt like a genuine threat. Great voice actor as well, Corey Burton does well in pretty much every role I've seen him in.
Anyone who hasn't played don't read
! I am a little disappointed that Joker didn't take the cure I mean what was the point not taking it? (other than trolling Batman with it) I know Joker like's things to be fun by nature.
Spoiler tags, Jinbei. Do you use them?
But
! I'm really confused over the whole cure thing myself, the whole thing seemed to have been a card trick and I lost track of the cards along the way. I think Talia stole it from the vault? Then the Joker planted a trap to make Batman think he stole it so Batman would come to him cause the Joker thought HE had it… but why would he think Batman would do that if he indeed DID have it? I think I just lost something along the way... Also why was Harley bondaged? Because she failed to get/lost the cure?
For those wanting to find croc it seems he's time sensitive

(sorry bout not using spoiler tags)
! Makes some sense I had a similar theory only difference was I thought Harley did get it but lost it (got stolen by Talia) on the way back.
! And if anyone who played the game didn't notice the picture hiding the vault Catwoman steal's from in the beginning is a foreshadow to the ending.
I was really hoping that:
! The Robots were going to be a enemy in this game. Was I the only one getting a Bioshock feel when you first saw them? (be it in person or on the posters. I assumed they were some sort of Hugo Strange Robots with the similarity between his posters and theirs. Oh well.
Hoping to beat this game Tuesday, since I have loads of free time. I'll start up a new game then probably, and just incase, are there any other time-sensitive events that I should know about to get 100%?

! Harley stole it, but them Talia ambushed her on her way back to Joker. That's why Harley was tied up and Talia had the cure.
