Now until October 30th both new and existing OnLive members will get their next full game purchase from the service for 98% off in celebration for reaching an amount of Facebook likes. Most are grabbing the Deus Ex package (Deus Ex GOTY + Deus Ex: Human Revolution Augmented Edition) but I, due to owning the game on PS3, am leaning towards… I guess the Witcher? There's honestly not a great selection on the service yet.
-
Too bad if you don't have a super fast internet connection it'll play horribly. I was going to get a game but I tried the demo for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and it looked and ran terribly.
-
From now till the end of Halloween Orcs Must Die, F.3.A.R., Metro 2033, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent are free to play on OnLive.
-
Does anybody here get good quality using OnLive?
-
Silicon Knights cuts almost 75% of staff!
Considering that not only did they create one of my favorite games of all time (Eternal Darkness) and operate in my home province, I find this news pretty upsetting.
-
Capcom's charging $50 for Resident Evil Revalations on the 3DS are you fucking serious
-
What do you fucking expect from Capcom?
-
http://kotaku.com/5855434/epic-resident-evil-3ds-game-deserves-its-unusual-50-price-says-capcom
So…..games that cost more in development than other games can sell for $40, but when it uses a slightly larger memory space, the price is jacked up by $10?

Feel better now?

Feel better now?
http://mynintendonews.com/2011/11/02/nintendo-wii-u-silicon-knights-working-on-eternal-darkness-2-for-wii-u/This is what I thought when they first released that statement a few days ago, but people seems to disagree with it. Basically people are saying Nintendo doesn't want an Eternal Darkness 2, and Nintendo is who owns the property.
-
I've seen nothing to see that Nintendo don't want it. Although considering pretty much every game after Eternal Darkness they've released.
-
I'm also bugged by how the spokesperson is going on about how Revelations will be a "true console experience on a handheld" and "feature over 20 hours of gameplay".
Promoting metadata like that usually doesn't resonate with me, especially since most games I've come across that blatantly advertise "X hours of gameplay" have always ended up boring me. (I'm looking at you Xenosaga). I'm…honestly worried.
-
I find it pretty bad that they have to brag about 20 hours of gameplay. That's nothing really.
-
That's like, twice the length of Arkham Asylum's story mode. That's really not bad.
-
Feel better now?
http://mynintendonews.com/2011/11/02/nintendo-wii-u-silicon-knights-working-on-eternal-darkness-2-for-wii-u/Well I'm raging at the misleading headline, that's something I guess.
To be honest I don't really care what console ED 2 comes out on, I just want Dyack to follow up on spilling the beans on the other elder gods. -
People are now saying that Silicon Knights next game is going to be a strategy game… which makes sense cause they said they were going back to their "roots." Let's take a look at their development history:
Cyber Empires (1992)
Fantasy Empires (1993)
Dark Legions (1994)
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (1996)
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (2002)
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (2004)
Too Human (2008)
X-Men: Destiny (2011)Eternal Darkness is far from their roots.

I've never played a Tom Clancy game before and have no interest too, but I just saw this… it is a concept video but... I would watch this movie.

-
Well dang… that was quite intriguing.
-
 I would play the heck out of that game!
-

In this day and age relative to other games' increasingly short lengths that's actually something, to be honest.
-
I use to be all over game length cause I saw it as more bang for my buck. That's why pretty much all last gen for me was JRPGs, not because I loved them, hell I only ever beat a few of them, but because of the amount of hours you'd have to sink into them. Now I've changed and largely buy shorter action games and pretty much don't touch the JRPG genre, and I must say I am greatly enjoying this console generation as a result.
-
It's the opposite for me. Too many games have I felt have been a waste of money because the games have been too short. Why pay £40 for a 10 hour game when I can buy it pre-owned for £10 in a month and spend that £40 game on a 40 hour game instead.
I used to buy games to keep me occupied for months on end. Now I'm lucky if I spend money on a game that'll last me a weekend. There are games I've not wanted to end even after 100 hours like Nier and Xenoblade yet there's ones where I've thought 'Is that it?' like Arkham City and L.A Noire.
-
I try to buy games that'll last awhile but most of the games that will aren't really games I would enjoy. Like JRPGs that you mentioned. I don't really enjoy that type of game so it doesn't interest me if the game is 100 hours long. I don't feel ripped off paying $60 or so for a game that's only 8-10 hours long if it's an awesome 8-10 hours. And multiplayer is a factor as well. Battlefield 3's singleplayer is only around 5-8 hours but the multiplayer will last me quite a while.
-

This. The Uncharted games have been infinity times more awesome than most JRPGs I played. In fact I'd be willing to say "all" if not for Dragon Quest VIII, which will always be my #1 game.
-
What is with Capcom trying to one-up their awfulness lately? It's getting to the point where they're coming across as trolls.
-
People need to quit buying shit from them so that they can go under like they deserve to after all the retardation they've been a part of lately.
-
I can't see how short lengths in games still surprise people to this day.
-
Steam is celebrating Super Meat Boy's anniversary with a sweet bundle of games like Braid, VVVVVV, Half-Life 2, and more (plus some soundtracks) for only $25, which is a steal:
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/12315I'm just happy Super Meat Boy is finally on Mac!
I purchased it months ago, not knowing it wasn't Mac compatible until after the transaction… I felt like an idiot :P -
HL2 seems out of place in that bundle .
-
Ya it seemed so random to me xD I already have the Orange Box so I don't need HL2, and I've already bought Braid, so I'm primarily getting the soundtracks.
-
Don't really know where to but this but Beyond Good & Evil 2 art spotted http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1213178p1.html they look rather nice
-
Never did play that game but heard it was good. I might pick up the first one if the trailers for this new one look good to me.
-
According to two Canadian GameStop employees the company is merging their Used and New game sections.
http://kotaku.com/5862094/eb-gamesgamestop-gets-rid-of-used-games-section
-
I don't see the point of that. I know that developers and game companies are pissed at not getting paid for used games but I'd imagine GS gets a shitload of money from those sales. Makes no sense.

That's the thing, they're not getting rid of used games, that's all of GS business. What they're doing is they're stacking used and new games together on the same shelve… and the employees are instructed to put new copies in the very back of the stack. The stickers are also going to look the same.
Shady, shady~
-
Other people will have already ravaged and disorganized the shelves whenever I go to shop there anyway

So one big soulless corporation is using perfectly legal tactics to make more money than other big soulless corporations.
1.)who cares?
2.)how the fuck is this shady?
3.)seriously, who cares? -

4chan? Whats somebody being directly linking XD
-
Just open the image in a new tab and you'll see it, you can't hotlink from 4chan. Some of the PS3 exclusives there aren't even out yet, also I think there was more Wii exclusives this year. Wasn't there some Kirby game?
-
Kirby: Return to Dreamland, aka the Gamecube game that was cancelled.
Also we get Fortune Street this month. -
Someone feel free to make a thread on this if they want to.

I wonder if I'll be able to throw yellow snowballs.
-
That certainly is surprisingly. The fact that the guys are handling the game means it has real potential.

Yeah, fucked up on that one. It's gone now anyway. Sorry guys
-
A South Park game? While it has Obsidian behind it (looks at New Vegas. Although that was more down to Bethesda's engine being broken I think) it makes me dubious but hell, I'll buy it again anyways. I actually loved the first one back on the 64
-

Yeah, that kind of makes me hopeful too. No surprise that both those guys HATED the games that were on the N64 and PS1.
-
Lets hope Obsideon has invested in some game testers.
Thats all I gotta say.
