! So everyone will have to fight… I hope this includes Emma and her battle armor somehow.
And Anise human design is cool and I'm glad she'll play a major role after all.

! So… Anise is a sexy girl after all huh?
This arc is looking better and better
…Yep. Magico's gonna end soon. Either that, or Iwamoto's really bad at pacing.
I wonder if Anise'll turn back into a cat after Shion and friends beat the evil doohickey she's gonna hold off.
On the one hand, Magico's pacing feels stupidly fast from chapter to chapter. On the other hand, you can see why, look at the sheer number of rituals they have to do
caught up again and this new arc looks fantastic! I love when arcs go into amusement parks. How many series has used this theme? I can only think of 2 One Piece and Fairy Tail.
pretty much every other arc of Bo-bobo took place in an amusement park. That was Jelly Jiggler's A-Block base, Halekulani's Hallelujah Land, the theme park the New Maruhige empire put on top of Jiggler's old base, and I think there were probably more.

Gaaaaah!!! how did I forget Bobobo? it's one of my favorite series…I feel so ashamed.
58 is out

And a lot happened, it's a bit confusing but I guess reading it again will clear it. After this chapter I'm beginning to hope that Faust and Shion will end having a decent brother relationship in the future. Or atleast not kill themselves next time.
Not a big fan of this chapter. Faust and Shion seems too quick of a shift from hatred to ally. And the memory eating was the most badass part of the last arc..
Well, atleast I'm glad Shion won't need to re-do his character development after every time he has to fight against a strong enemy.
I always like it when Luu gets to fight.
It doesn't look like the pacing is going to slow down anytime soon, which doesn't help my theory that it's gonna get cancelled. But on the other hand, why would Iwamoto give Shion a shiny new plot device ring if it was gonna end soon? Hmmmm.
Does anyone have the sales figures so far?
This pacing is fine. It's giving great character build-up and action worthy of a high level foe in the minimum amount of pages. In fact I think it's helping the story in some ways. Don't forget there are a ton of rides left and this is only one box out of what seven they still have to go through?
I'm fine with Shion getting the ring McGuffin seeing as it's from the person who caused the first instance of the negative repercussions of his technique.
I really like the coffe cup magic that the old man did in this chapter.
What Faust had with Shion were misplaced thoughts and a warped sense of the reality (probably induced by their mother), he wasn't really evil to being with.
All the anghish and disdain vanished the last time we saw him.
That ring was so Deus Ex Machina to me…and its awesome.
It's not a deus ex the way it was handled though it could have been. It was given by a character who was established to be there and we know is in cahoots with a very powerful mage. Said mage is the same guy who caused Shion to lose his memories the first time so it balances out. Also it's not like Shion got his ass saved at the last second as some powerful attack was about to finish him off and Ain jumped in and saved him. It was handled in a clever manner so it didn't feel cheap at all.
I'm not too sure how I feel about that ring that was given to him by Faust, I probably would have prefered that there was a little development between the two, but I can still accept it I suppose. As for the pace, I'm atleast hoping that these fights last a decent amount of time instead of ending up as more OHKO's.
Shion's face at the last panel doesn't make much sense, the expression in his eyes, not much like him, but I'm sure it doesn't mean anything.
Alright chapter, I really felt it was way too fast, but it's good as it is.
The hell are you ppl talking about with this whole " the pacing is too fast"? The pacing in magico has consistently been fast it only slowed down a couple of times.
Why has it been so long since a chapter's been released?, A break or?
Or maybe the scanlators are just busy with other more important things (e.g real life, studies).
My hopes were raised when I saw that this thread had a new post.
Now they are dashed when all I read is ppl asking when a new chapter will come out.
Sonofabitch
Sorry to disappoint you there's no new chapter available yet, but I think you should be ready for Magico's I daresay inminent ending.
Yeah…it's been pretty low in the ranks for a while now.
It doesn't sell very well either. The other low-ranking ones at least make enough to keep themselves afloat.
This is from redhawks site. It looks like Magico's translation has been delayed which is why we haven't gotten the chapters recently. Other Projects

Chapter 60 is out aswell

Yea, it was rushed, seems like it's a signal of possible cancellation.
Those cats in the last page… How can people not love that?
I don't think I've ever seen a series rush at such a breakneck pace
And here I was hoping for a very fun and a bit longer arc. Damn you, JUMP!
I don't think I've ever seen a series rush at such a breakneck pace
Try Swot. It's simply the fastest there is.
And 5 bucks says the last chapter will either be when they save Anise, or an epilogue right after.
I thought both chapters were really good, I had fun with them, it was a bit rushed, sure, but it's not weird for Magico to be like that, it happened before.
The author manages to develop and show everything necessary anyway, so it's fine. But I really wish it won't get canned, it's so good… :(

Why would you recommend this terrible, terrible manga?
Why would you recommend this terrible, terrible manga?
Because I've never seen a manga go faster.
If Magico right now is a drag racer, Swot broke the friggin' sound barrier.
Looking at the latest chatper (63), I'm quite sceptical, it's hard to judge.
Chapter 61 is out. Unless you saw the raw like I did, you won't see this coming.
! a bible reference? Oh shit
Manga feels like it's ending which really sucks. Least its doing so on its own terms rather than being forced to end mid-arc.
That moment with the "She's obviously lying" was fantastic.
It feels like it is ending but as well it feels like the writer is showing off his world building. I think his world building and fights have been excellent. The manga has some really good characters as well. There is something that makes it a little bit off for the mainstream readers obviously. I dont think it is the pacing, I think he has shown with the coupling competition arc, that he could easily control that and I honestly liked the pacing in the last arc although a little hurried. But it was a 9 chapter arc. Which is Magicos second longest arc or nearly.
It does feels like it's ending, but that was kinda mind-blowing. Still, I'm kinda confused with all the Echidna stuff.
That was too fast for my likeing, but sure, plot advancement and all. Kinda wished that this revelation was dragged out some more, as it is a "HOLY DISCOTEK" moment for the series.
Welp, now that things are wrapping up I gotta wonder how long it's gonna take.
I can't figure out if the author has done this as he likes ridiculous pacing or if it is a chopping block decision.
They normally give like a month or so's notice don't they?
We've seen he can wrap up arcs pretty sharpish ssooo….
What a shame, this work had a lot of potential but instead of building up on it the author is blowing everything out, upping the ante every arc into realms of ridiculousness while wanting to be taken serious.
The ritual system could have been much more indepht, integral and interesting instead it's just a bypass plotpoint.
The Emma, Shion relationship could have been a lot deeper slowly building with both having personal issues to overcome.
This won't probably last much longer, I think by the time they fought the 3 brothers it kind of blew it.
The biggest problem with this series is that the premise feels forced. It was just bread. The author tried to fix it with the fact that it took time for Shion's and Emma's relationship to actually develop and kind of explained a little bit more with Shion's story, but looking back at it, that really can't keep a series afloat for too long. The series also looks a lot more like a shoujo manga than a shounen one and doesn't really have that unique of a art style. The couple thing is very much in-your-face and can get annoying. I can definitely see why it doesn't do so well, especially in Jump and why the sales aren't that good. It doesn't help that the author already had to reset Shion's character to keep things "interesting" and the new arc started pretty lackluster.
Hmm, the manga has its flaws and its far from a masterpiece but I think it's more fresh than most of the shonen that are sprouting these days.
It's not anything special but it's a pleasant read, it never turned tiresome to me.

Yeah, I think it's decent despite it's flaws, just sort of losing interest, but it seems to be ending anyway, so might as well follow it till the end.
The "coupling" arc (or wathever you guys call it) was definitely the highlight of the manga. Everything both before AND after that has been pretty lackluster. Not bad, but generic and pretty bland. Nothing special.
That arc, while still not a MASTERPIECE, was entertaining, the fights were very original, the powers interesting and the backstory for the main character was quite shocking and engaging. His half-psycho brother was also a breath of fresh air.
Then, came this Raven McBland into the mix, those incredibly lame bunnies and the romance angle got quite out of hand ("I'm the ONLY ONE who can make her smile! You hear me??". . .what the fuck, man? where on the 21st fucking century, you retrograde imbecile. . .), and overall, not very interesting.
Chapter 61 could mark a change for the better, since it felt different and quite epic. You can see the author went the extra mile with that ending page. But if he will resolve it in 6-7 chapters, then I don't know if it's worth the "hype". We'll wait and see. . .
Edit: and while we're at it, chapter 62 is out.
! Oh, hello sage guy who we haven't seen since, what, chapter 4? 5? And you've mastered an incredibly powerful magic!
! And. . .look, Sephirot (have we seen this guy before in the manga in person??)! And the 12 most powerful mages in the world! Well, that's kinda rushed, but, we'll have fun here!! What awesome powers we'll see from these magic mammoths of. . .(1 page later) Oh, all defeated off-pannel.
Did Magico never really do that well in the rankings? I know it's not good saleswise.
It's probably why everything was so rushed, and why he revealed Shion's past so early. It felt forced, but it was probably an [unsuccessful] ploy to boost rankings.
It probably would've done better in another magazine. Oh well.
Aw, f*ck.
It's so ending. :|
It saddens me, because I expected a whole lot more from Magico, it was going to be great if it wasn't for jump… I really wish it was in other magazine.
I mean, hell, the author planned a great war between mages and all kinds of shit back at chapter 5 when the scarlet sky sage talked about it and the ritual he just completed. I was excited about that war... but it's completely gone because the author had to rush so much. :|
It's still a pretty good read, but it could've been so much better...
